So I made a post theorising about Style before episode 1 dropped and I'm both pleased by how much I got right and enamoured by all the extra details we have about Style in this episode.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Style is so obnoxiously overconfident and full of undeserved swagger that it somehow flips around to being winsome. He's the very definition of "empty-headed" but in a way that makes him innocent and guileless.
Narratively he functions as a bit of a foil to Bison because they are both impulsive and naive and blunt, but where Bison's past is steeped in blood and deception and it feels like he's got tricks up his sleeve, Style is an almost painfully open book. This also stands in contrast to Kant who seems very capable of manipulation.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And while he's nearly annoyingly self-assured, who can blame him; I mean look at him. Pretty boy is so fucking pretty. I bet he rocks up to the club, leans with his back against the bar so his shirt rides up, and immediately has 3 drinks being offered to him.
I'm so glad the show makes it clear that Style was flirting with Fadel well before the deal with Kant. It both establishes how genuine his interest in Fadel is, whilst also telling us that the unhinged behaviour was all Style - he didn't need any incentive to pull the "my nipples are sensitive" line.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I also love how he's demonstratively SO BAD at flirting! At the diner, its clear he's just trying things out to see if anything will stick. He's dressed to make himself alluring: arms and side bared in that loose tank top, and he keeps making these big gestures that show his arms off. (I wonder if he drinks as much as he does partly because he starts to get nervous when nothing seems to be working. xD)
All this is good, though, specifically because Fadel would probably see more sophisticated moves as deception. Instead, I think Style's unpolished and unpredictable flirting winds up being accidentally effective because it leaves Fadel feeling unmoored.
Fadel, who is so in control of his life; who (thinks he) knows exactly what he wants and how to get it. Style makes him feel things he probably hasn't in a while. Attraction, embarrassment; but also, anger and violence. His little dramatic knife-clench moment is such a contrast to the calm, clinical way he assassinates the mob boss and I think it shows that Fadel feels his lack of control around Style - and that frightens him a little.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I like how the show signposts the ways both characters are going to have to grow as people for them to be in a relationship: Style needs to learn how to take things more seriously, to mature and temper that arrogance, and slow down and read the room/people better; Fadel needs to allow himself to let go sometimes, to have some fun for once, to face and accept the reality of his own emotions.
They both have to learn how to love and be loved, and its fascinating how ideally suited they are to teach each other these things.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And in the mean time, well, the chemistry is undeniably electric.

Dont care much for Stipple/Stipplebotnik but most interpretations I’ve seen of it are either fake dating in order to get information out of Wade about Sonic/the emerald or Bot/Stone turning fluffier and nice by being with Wade.
So, hear me out, what about Wade… turning to their side instead.

Woah wait, I didn't know you had a Monty phase! That's so cool!!
May I ask whether or not you believed Monty killed Glam Bonnie? 👀
Hi!!! YEah!! My moments of weakness for the gator <3 But but to answer your question!! Since the beginning I've always loved the concept of things being open to different interpretations. I think the game originally tosses a lot of evidence that he could be the one to kill Bonnie- and I'm fine with that idea. BUUUTTT given the RUIN DLC, I actually think all of that stuff is red herrings. I honestly sometimes ponder on if Moon had something to do with it. Though that may be a stretch haha But but but I am also a super big gatorbun enjoyer, curtesy of holidayturkeyy's insanity about it /pos. Erm- so?? I?? yes? I do believe it could be interpreted that way, and also not haha ... Dysfunk answer a question normally challenge failed </3

If I met award-winning murder mystery author Stuart Turton (the 7 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, the devil and the dark water, the last murder at the end of the world) in person, I would gift him a copy of the zero escape trilogy the way Matpat gave the pope undertale

ken beats parrot up 1/? (he doesn't actually beat parrot up in this part sorry)
summary: based on @saiintofdiirt's little thing where parrot finds out about clonefies, a continuation of after parrot makes up with wifies. this is just writing practice tbh
word count: 872 I think
Ken and Wato have just taken their first bites of their chicken quesadillas (sue them, they’re still pissed) when Ken’s comm pings.
[Wifies]: it went well
[Wifies]: I’m going to stay with him
Ken heaves a sigh. Wifies is too kind.
Next to her, Wato shakes their head. “I knew this was going to happen, but I wish he’d be a little less nice.”
“I agree,” Ken mutters. But he has more important things to do than continue to fantasize about tearing out Parrot’s throat, so he picks up his comm.
[_Kenadian_]: okay
[_Kenadian_]: what are you doing now?
[Wifies]: Eating
[_Kenadian_]: alone?
[Wifies]: no
[Wifies]: Parrot’s here
[Wifies]: actually he just left briefly he said he had to do something for a few minutes
Ken’s comm pings again, but it’s not a message from Wifies.
“You’ve got to be kidding me,” Ken says. Parrot has just messaged him. Seriously? He left Wifies to send Ken a message?
“I don’t think he ever stops talking,” Wato says, taking a giant bite out of their quesadilla.
[ParrotX2]: Hey
[ParrotX2]: I know you’re still mad at me, so meet me at the final chunkban prison on Unstable tomorrow sometime between 8 am and noon
“The hell does that mean?” Ken’s anger is not chased away by their confusion. In fact, it just makes them angrier.
[ParrotX2]: You wanted to kill me, right?
Oh. Oh. Ken feels adrenaline building in his veins. Parrot, despicable or not, probably isn’t lying. He knows if he lies, Ken will just tell Wifies, and where would that leave him?
Wato finishes off their quesadilla. “Have fun. Give him hell from me.”
“I will.”
Another ping.
[ParrotX2]: Don’t tell Wifies. I assume you wouldn’t but just in case
“Bastard,” Ken says.
The next morning finds Ken decked out in full enchanted netherite, making her way to front of the former prison’s entrance. She doesn’t know any specifics about Parrot’s…arrangement and she’s not taking any chances. Her inventory is chock-full with shulkers—deadly things, potions, supplies.
Wifies won’t be here. He messaged Ken earlier, saying something about a new arg someone had told him to check out. The timing is incredibly convenient, but Ken isn’t complaining. They know Wifies wouldn’t exactly want this. Wifies might not even understand why Ken wants this.
Parrot is already there, also in full netherite, but hands empty. There’s a spot on his left wing where the feathers have clearly been worried at and plucked. It makes Ken feel a bit happier.
“What do you want?” Ken asks. “You were a bit…vague yesterday.”
“I know you wanted to kill me the other day,” Parrot says. His eyes are clear, sharp blue. A stark contrast to how troubled they were. “I’m giving you a chance to.”
“Why?”
“Wifies is too nice. I’m not…a masochist, but I know I messed up bad and you have some, like, pent-up emotions, right?”
Oh, what Ken would give to get a look inside Parrot’s brain, no matter how annoying he can be. What the hell goes on in there? Nobody normal says that kind of thing. Though wanting “normal” from a former Lifesteal member might be too high of an expectation.
“This will be the only time I agree with you. Wifies is too nice, and I do have ‘pent-up emotions.’ I’ll have you know—I don’t usually want to hurt people. Wifies will back me up. But you just piss me off so bad I have to make an exception.”
Parrot nods, like this is expected. It grates on Ken, how calm he can appear when he’s not having an emotional hurricane. “Okay. I believe you. I’m not gonna let you permakill me on this server.”
“Then what do you mean by kill?” Ken snaps.
“Simple.” A totem materializes in Parrot’s hand. “You get to pop this.”
This is definitely not sane or normal behavior. This is decidedly Lifesteal behavior. Ken is fine with that. “Right here, right now, out in the open?”
“Obv—no,” Parrot replies. “Follow me.”
He’s off before Ken can complainabout how much he’s controlling the situation, so Ken has no choice but to follow. They fly into a cave system, then to the entrance to a room inside it, closed off with an iron door. Parrot opens the door and puts a hand to the pillow of the white bed in the corner.
Ken takes a look around the room. It’s simple—just blackstone and deepslate and some obsidian, lit with some torches. He supposes the dark blocks are to make concealing any leftover…mess easier.
Parrot takes off his helmet, leaving the rest of his armor on. “Oh, one last thing. I said you could pop the totem, but if you try to cut my wings off as part of that, this offer is done and I’ll kill you.”
“What the heck?” Ken actually does forget to be angry this time. “What—that’s—what the hell?”
Parrot raises an eyebrow.
“I mean, why would you think I would even think of that?” Ken wants to rip out all of her hair. “That’s cruel.”
“Just in case,” Parrot says. “That’s all.”
The rest of his armor disappears, leaving just him in his bomber jacket, with nothing but his totem. “Go for it.”

This was when I became a little bit braver, actually attempting to draw, in digital, these AFKJ stuffs.
Something about Thoran’s voice line has stuck with me and still is to this day.
Tumblr media
I keep thinking about how Merlin and Thoran have also met in the past, and something may have happened… But even as of this post, there isn’t much if at all to figure out anything.
Thoran doesn’t have any Mystical House interaction with anyone else, and Bantus has been heavily hinted on for quite some time throughout Waves of Intrigue. I have a gist they’re keeping this quiet until the time is right and we can finally go there and see it all for ourselves.
But for now, this is all I have.

not sure if you've answered this before, but what do you think would happen if pre-ROK but post missing kings Fushimi got hit with a memory strain and suddenly his memories go back to before the betrayal ? How would yata (or anyone else for that matter) react?
This I think would be interesting since presumably he would go back to Homra but he wouldn’t be going back to Mikoto’s Homra, he’d be going back to Anna’s. Like imagine he gets hit by a Strain that wipes all memories up until like a couple months pre-betrayal. Say he was on patrol undercover before this too so he wasn’t in his S4 uniform, and it’s raining so his hair gets all in his eyes and he doesn’t even really notice the way it’s parted when he comes to, he just pushes it back into his middle school style haircut. Fushimi doesn’t recall how he got here but assumes it’s some stupid Homra mission, clicking his tongue as he pulls out his PDA. He’s immediately suspicious due to the S4 logo and puts it back in his pocket, deciding he’ll just find Misaki on his own.
Yata’s at the bar with everyone else, discussing the current situation with jungle, and imagine the silence that settles over the whole place when Fushimi walks in as if he belongs there. Yata’s on edge and immediately jumps in front of him, not sure if he should be angry or if this is a good sign, maybe Fushimi’s showing up because he’s willing to accept Yata’s thanks for helping with Anna. Fushimi looks at him like why are you acting so weird and Yata decides to try and thank him again, Fushimi has no idea what he’s talking about. Yata’s like ‘huh?’ and then Anna steps forward with her marble. She stares at Fushimi hard for a moment and says ‘Saruhiko doesn’t remember.’ Fushimi’s like what don’t I remember and Yata, Anna and Kusanagi all share a look. Kusanagi sighs and says he’ll call Awashima.
Fushimi isn’t stupid so of course he’s aware right away that something’s up. I imagine Kusanagi would want to tell him the truth, at least about him going to S4 and Mikoto and Totsuka being dead, however Yata’s more conflicted about it. I think his initial desire would be to not tell Fushimi, to just enjoy having his best friend back, and if this was pre-S1 he would probably do just that without even thinking hard about it. Now though he’s unsure because he feels like Fushimi would probably want to know the truth and maybe they can still have a conversation, here where that bitterness hasn’t had a chance to fester yet, and Yata can understand Fushimi instead of trying to make Fushimi be someone else. While he’s debating though imagine Fushimi decides to stop at the restroom and he’s aware that his chest has been itching. Fushimi stands there in front of the mirror and opens his shirt and there he sees it, the destroyed Homra tattoo, and Fushimi just gives this crooked smirk like oh.
When he comes back into the bar Yata decides to take him aside and explain everything, he knows this is gonna be a big shock for Fushimi so Yata wanted this to come from him. Imagine Yata doing his best to explain what he still doesn’t understand, that Fushimi left Homra and went to S4 and Yata still doesn’t know why but he wants to. Yata just lets it spill out, everything he’s wanted to say to Saruhiko for months now but that Fushimi never lets him finish, wondering if Fushimi was ever even happy in Homra and he knows that Fushimi can’t remember leaving but even so maybe he can explain some of it, of why he left. Fushimi listens to the whole thing quietly and then just scoffs, so that’s it. Yata’s all ‘huh?’ and Fushimi pulls down his collar, he was wondering where this came from. Yata stumbles over the words, because he didn’t mention the scar that’s still super painful for him to remember, and Fushimi stands to go.
He says if Yata can’t figure it out for himself then no wonder his ‘future’ self didn’t see fit to explain it. Yata grabs his arm like wait and Fushimi wonders if he should burn it more, there’s still too much of this pride of yours left. Yata quickly tells him no, like Saruhiko can’t you just let me understand, and Fushimi shakes his arm off and says he’s going back to S4, ‘since apparently that’s where I’m supposed to be.’He says it’s fine anyway, since it’s clear Homra’s crumbled and Yata’s just clinging to him because there’s no more Mikoto. Yata fiercely says that’s not it at all —Homra is still here and Mikoto is still there too, in the memories Yata carries. This isn’t about Homra or Mikoto to Yata it’s about Fushimi, the one person he hasn’t managed to understand yet. Fushimi coldly says if Yata hasn’t understood yet then he never will, pulling away from Yata and moving to leave the bar. Once he’s outside he starts scratching at the burn scar and murmuring ‘so that’s why I did it…I should have done this sooner.’ Meanwhile back in the bar Yata just collapses into his chair, fists clenched as he quietly says he still won’t give up, he’s not going to give up on understanding Fushimi no matter what.

allow me to ramble for a second. just finished playing resident evil revelations 2 and i have some Thoughts
i think a lot of this game was what re6 wanted to be. i like the progression of the plot and the fact that the story is told from two perspectives at two different points in time.
i REALLY liked claire's campaign over barry's tbh. barry felt like more of a flat character, although i may be a little biased from playing through re2 remake many many times.
i also am not a huge fan of how claire kinda felt like she was just. there? like i would say that the two protagonists are claire and barry, but barry felt like he was more important to the narrative than claire was. i think it's a similar problem that the original version of re4 had, where leon felt like the guy you played as and less like the main character. the remake fixed this a LOT though, and i hope if they do remake revelations 2, they integrate claire into the narrative more
