الذكر بعد الفراغ من الوضوء Upon completing the ablution

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَريـكَ لَـهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمّـداً عَبْـدُهُ وَرَسـولُـه I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone, Who has no partner; and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.

মুসলিম ইতিহাসে একজন খলিফা ছিলেন, যিনি পরিচিত ছিলেন ‘পাগলা খলিফা’ নামে। তার নাম ছিল আল হাকিম। মিশরের ফাতেমি খিলাফতের খলিফা ছিলেন তিনি।

আল হাকিমের হুকুমগুলো ছিল খুব অদ্ভুত!

তিনি হুকুম জারি করলেন----দিনের বেলা বাজার বসবে না, বাজার বসবে রাতের বেলা। দিনে দোকানপাট বন্ধ থাকত, রাতে সবাই বাজার করত।

তিনি হুকুম জারি করলেন----নারীরা বাইরে বের হতে পারবে না। দেখা গেল, তার সিদ্ধান্ত অনেক নারী মানছে না। তিনি জুতা প্রস্তুতকারীদের জানিয়ে দিলেন নারীদের জন্য জুতা না বানাতে। জুতা ছাড়া তো নারীরা বাইরে বের হতে পারবে না!

মিশরে তখন বন্যা হতো, বন্যায় অনেকেই ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হতো। আল হাকিম পরিকল্পনা করলেন নীলনদে বাঁধ দিবেন, যাতে বন্যা প্রতিরোধ করা যায়।

তার পরিকল্পনা শুনতে পেলেন একজন বিজ্ঞানী। তিনি জানালেন, ‘আমি নীলনদে বাঁধ দেওয়ার কাজটি করতে পারব।’

বিজ্ঞানী বসরা থেকে কায়রোতে আসলেন। নীলনদ দেখে বুঝতে পারলেন, এটাতে বাঁধ দেওয়ার সাধ্য তার নেই। অক্ষমতা প্রকাশ করলে পাগল খলিফা তাকে হত্যা করবেন।

বিজ্ঞানী ভাবলেন, পাগলের সাথে পাগলামি করবেন।

তিনি পাগল হওয়ার অভিনয় করলেন।

আল হাকিম নির্দেশ দিলেন---- ‘এই পাগলকে বন্দি করো।’

বন্দি হলেন বিজ্ঞানী। মিশরের কারাগারে ১০ বছর ছিলেন। এই সময় তিনি একটি যুগান্তকারী আবিষ্কার করেন। একদিন তিনি লক্ষ করেন, কারাগারের দেওয়ালের গর্ত দিয়ে আলোর সঙ্গে একটি বস্তুর উলটো প্রতিবিম্ব দেওয়ালে পড়ছে। তার এই ভাবনা পালটে দেয় আলোকবিদ্যার গতিপথ। শুরু হয় আলো নিয়ে এক নতুন পৃথিবীর সূচনা!

জেলে বসে গবেষণা করা সেই বিজ্ঞানী সেই বিজ্ঞানীর নাম ইবনুল হাইসাম! অনেকের মতে তিনি আধুনিক আলোকবিদ্যার জনক।

তার লেখা ৭ খণ্ডের ‘কিতাবুল মানাজির’ বা ‘Book of Optics’ ছিল মধ্যযুগের আলোকবিদ্যার রেফারেন্স বুক।
