i just finished theresa's memories sequence from the woman's lot DLC
and boy. oh boy. let me share some screenshots i took because. wow. just wow

The gem show is dangerous to me for reasons other than minerals.
#IM SO EXCITED THO. I got a bunch that i can cross-reference to periods of time. Kenai Peninsula gold for Jack London etc etc.#I also got a bunch that are more... 'stories' in mining towns? Which I think will be really interesting. Gold copper and jewels.#'The Story of Cyprus Mines Corporation' which I am VERY EXCITED to explore as a reference to mining in Cyprus 1650-modern.#Can provide useful context for me on the geology and mineralogy as I refer to Cyprus and the Bronze Age collapse.#Also got The Huancavelica Mercury Mine by Whitaker which promises to be SO INTERESTING and I'm academically interested#in it as well as the other book I need to get from the library.#Dear fucking god I have so much reading.#I actually don't even have room for these on my shelf. My non-fiction/textbook shelf just got filled up. I'm either going to have to#sacrifice mineral space or rearrange the top of my dresser to hold more minerals/books which is being taken up by self-collected rocks#I don't know what to do with my self-collected rocks... :( I kind of hate them but I also like them for references.....#E also does not believe in my nonfiction bookstore idea :(#It's kind of hilarious to me that my irl friends are all people who would absolutely spend hours in my hypothetical bookstore but#have 0 faith that cultivating a nerd clientele would be financially successful. He did bring up that running a bookstore would leave#no time for reading books :/ which I think is not wrong but come onnn. It can't be that hard to read a book at the counter!#Honestly I imagine my biggest struggle would be theft; especially of the rarer books in the collection.#I went to the Mindat booth (!!!!! Mindat has a booth at the gem show now!!) And the most expensive/oldest book they had was by#John Comstock (!!!) on mineralogy. And I wanted it so bad :') He was willing to knock it down in price for me. But I would never read it.
