Enter Tolkien's World

Have you ever wondered what was one of the most beautiful fictional worlds ever created? As for me, it's Middle-earth. The fictional world created by J.R.R. Tolkien, is a place of breathtaking beauty and wonder. If you're one of those girlies who loves fantasy and adventure, Lord of the Rings is highly recommended for you. Let's get back to Middle-earth. Two of the most notable landscapes are definitely the rolling hills the Shire and the majestic grandeur of Rivendell, each landscape has its own unique charm and character. Today, let's take a short journey through the landscapes of Middle-earth and see what we can learn from them.
The Shire

The Shire is a place of simplicity and peace, where the cares of the world seem to fade away. The rolling hills, green fields, and villages nestled among the trees all contribute to a sense of peace and calmness. The Hobbits are villagers of the Shire who live in cozy hobbit holes, often with round windows and doors, and gardens full of vegetables and flowers. They are known as creatures who love food, nature, peace... and above all is their love for things that grow. What can we learn from the Shire? Perhaps the importance of slowing down and appreciating the simple things in life. In today's world that's increasingly fast-paced and complex, the Shire reminds us of the value of simplicity and peace. After all, like what Bilbo Baggins says... It is no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.
Rivendell

A place of serene and peaceful atmosphere is what best describes the hidden haven of the Elven community, Rivendell. It is a place of majestic grandeur and beauty, surrounded by tall trees and nestled near the valley of the river Aduin. The air is filled with a sense of peace, it's a haven for those who are seeking refuge, guidance, and healing... a home to Elrond, a wise and powerful Elf-lord. What can we learn from Rivendell? It is the importance of seeking wisdom and guidance in times of need. Rivendell reminds us that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope and guidance to be found if we'll just learn that sometimes seeking help is not a weakness.
The landscapes of Middle-earth are a testament to the beauty and wonder of the world. From the green fields of the Shire to the majestic grandeur of Rivendell, each place has its own unique charm and character. As we took a short journey through Middle-earth, we're reminded of the importance of simplicity, peace, and seeking help. What can we take away from this journey? A renewed appreciation for the beauty of the world around us, and a reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple things in life.

Walk the Line of Morality: 10 Fantasy Novels with Thieving Protagonists
In the usual realm of swords, sorcery, dragons and direwolves, aren’t we all occasionally partial to a protagonist that’s a bit, well… shifty? I’m not talking about the big muscle-bound, honour-bound heroes that are as predictable as the British weather, I’m talking about the sneak-thieves, the tricksters, the rogues! There’s something devilishly enjoyable about a character that walks the line…

FUN FACT ALERT!!!
Did you know?
Did you know?
Did you know?
The One Ring's inscription in Black Speech that says...
"Ash nazg durbatulûk, Ash nazg gimbatul, Ash nazg thrakatulûk, Agh burzum-ishi krimpatul."
translates to
"One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them."
A fictional languange in Tengwar script, a script created by J.R.R. Tolkien. The inscription drew inspiration from Tolkien's scholarly interests and his experience in WWI. The Black speech is a dark and corrupted language used by Sauron and his servants. The inscription on the Ring symbolizes Sauron's intent to dominate and control all of Middle-Earth.

Settings in Literature as Edward Hopper Paintings
Edward Hopper is a famous American painter. He used to paint simple urban and rural settings that evoked a sense of simple quiet and aloneness. What would it look like if he painted some of these characters from our favorite authors’ setting descriptions?

Aragorn
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.
