It only just now occured to me how much "sense" it actually makes that Joowon so thoroughly believed the murderer of Yuyeon was her own twin brother. He has no concept of a loving, supportive family relationship. All he knows about family is that you make use of them when they benefit you and then discard them horribly once they have exceeded that use. To him, the idea of a man murdering his own family for being more successful and popular is easier than grasping the idea that said man loved his family more than anything.
