there was an explosion
a single sonic boom
and then there was fire
a thousand years
is nothing
a thousand ten-fold
or one hundred times
a thousand times
it’s all the same
it’s impossible to go back
to the beginning
or is that a fallacy
an old wives’ tale
the elixirs & the medicine
celebrations of birth
coinciding with the bad
and the ugly
what could be much worse

The Altar of God
When I think about the altar of God
I think of my salvation
How I walked down the aisle
At the preacher’s beckoning
How I asked the Lord into my heart
To be my Lord and Savior
How I saw the light
As I arose from the water
How I need Christ
That’s why I go to the altar
The altar to me is a place of sacrifice
A place where I rededicate my life
A place above advice
Like the Israelites…

以色列(Israel)
(Jacob’s Ladder)“:

New EP Jacob's Ladder out 1st December
It's been a long time but I finally have a new EP coming out on the 1st of December.
Read about it here:
It’s been some time since my last post, what was going to be a brief hiatus from my track of the week segment has turned into several years. As life responsibilities have gotten more complicated my free time has greatly reduced and I needed to decide what I wanted to prioritise.
The priority is my own music, and the first result of this work is this new EP Jacob’s Ladder.
The EP is focused on a…

Heaven-bound
I don’t know who’s a RUSH fan here, but this is a powerful Rhone/BDX blend showing what Paso is capable of–to varying extents. Dark and concentrated, a nose reflecting deep smoky layers on top of capable fruit. SOOOO much smoky oak, the briar and brine barely able to exude itself above. But fruit is there: rich, tobacco-y leather with very little *lace* unless copious concentration is your idea…

Jacob’s Dream (Genesis 28:10-22)
All dreams which we carry with us into conscious waking – no matter whether mundane or extraordinary – are telling us a similar message: “Hey! Pay attention to this!”
Jacob’s Ladder by Darius Gilmont
Jacob left the town of Beersheba and started out for Haran. At sunset he stopped for the night and went to sleep, resting his head on a large rock. In a dream he saw a ladder that reached from earth to heaven, and God’s angels were going up and down on it.
The Lord was standing beside the ladder and said:
I am the Lord God who was worshiped by Abraham and…

Jacob & the Angel: A Spirituality of Struggle
Jacob & the Angel: A Spirituality of Struggle
I’m not a fan of wrestling – neither amateur nor professional. Maybe you were on a high school or college wrestling team or you enjoy watching the competitions in the Summer Olympics. There’s nothing wrong with wrestling; I’m just not a fan. Although I do have hard time with the macho theatrics of professional wrestlers. So why would a story about wrestling be one of my favorite Bible…

Diversifying my video making skills - Screensharing
Breakthrough in versatility for video editing and recording slide deck from Canva template over Loom from a Zoom call
I cheekily presented a slide deck I’d made in Canva from a template and uploaded my own images and found it on Lucy Griffith’s archives. Loom allows you to share links to videos in Loom, which is really useful for quickly showing someone how to do something. That is something I have an interest in doing. Screensharing is something I’ve been trying to do since 2020 when I signed up to Test.io to…

18 Reasons Why You Should Climb the Ladder
18 Reasons Why You Should Climb the Ladder
Twisting Braid Crochet Blanket
The crochet ladder-stitch could also be called Jacob’s Ladder. It also looks like the braiding of chains that interlock with each other.
The way this stitch can puzzle together has me gagging in excitement. Daniel did a project called the Crochet Polish Star Pillow with this type of concept. Just stuns me half to death.
Gagging: Slang term something is so fierce you…

Box Office Preview – Can Gerard Butler’s ANGEL HAS FALLEN overcome the faith-based movie OVERCOMER?
The threequel #AngelHasFallen takes on the Christian film #Overcomer and horror-comedy #ReadyOrNot at the #BoxOffice. Check out our weekend preview to see how they might fare.
Welcome back to the Beat’s weekly Box Office Preview!
I’m not going to continue on about the “Dog Days of Summer” but the second to last weekend of August is known to be one of the worst dumping grounds for movies, even if this year, there are a couple not-so-bad choices. Will moviegoers care and give them a look or are they just waiting for September’s It: Chapter Two at this point?

Beware the EVIL Bite of Silver Teeth! “The Cursed” reviewed! (LD Entertainment / Digital Screener)
Lord Seamus Laurent and the neighboring landowners show grave concern for the recent Gypsy encroachment upon their shared property. In proactivity protecting the laboring residents and the pastoral farmland of the feudal system, Laurent and fellow landowners order the removal of the Gypsies by hiring ruthless mercenaries who slaughter every last Gypsy in cold blood and bury them in the…
