James 1:20, New International Version:
Listening and Doing
"¹⁹ My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry,²⁰ because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires."

Refocus that energy!
One of my sisters sent me a text, reminding me of this devotional I shared over five years ago. Reading it, I realized it needed to be shared again. Of course, with some updates, but the same message. Stop trying to pay people back for what they’ve done to you! Stop being angry when you see people prospering who’ve done you wrong, hurt you, stole from you, lied on you or still owe you. Stop…

Nine Biblical Reasons Why President Biden is a Poor Candidate for President
I don’t want to write this post. Just like I didn’t want to write last Friday’s post on why President Trump is a Poor Candidate for President. (By the way, that post drew considerable pushback from a few of my brothers and sisters in Christ. One thought I was unfair to Trump and viewed him as a kind of political savior of the country for this moment in time. Two were more measured saying neither…

fabian’s bad day is like one of those movies that’s so great in the middle & end that everyone kinda forgets how good the beginning is too, because when i tell you i think of lou wilson’s delivery + enunciations on “i’m. no. land. lubber. My Father is the greatest pirate that ever lived. you, james, are the captain of a Two-Bit, piece of SHIT, stick-of-wood that dare Never sail again. you’ve come here to make a fool of yourself, and i, Personally, consider myself Lucky that i will have the pleasure of LAUGHING along with the Rest Of Leviathan! (and i kick him in his fucking chest)” every day. only for him to immediately role a nat one on his attack & kick off some of the worst dnd luck ever caught on camera. masterful.

Are there any other wizarding families that are underexplored in canon and pique your interest in a similar way to the Blacks?
This is a unique function of what food my brain worms like to eat, but no one's doing it like the Blacks. The drama? The intrigue? The Gothic horror? The prodigal sons and lost daughters and killers and sinners and martyrs and saints? The wizard Catholicism of it all? The story of the House of Black is the best book never written.

A lot of people are like "Hey, if The Baker was supposed to be an toddler when Rapunzel was taken away by The Witch, why is he almost always played by an actor in his 40's-50's and not a young one like his sister?"
OK, have you considered: Rapunzel being in her 40's-50's and only being able to mantain her youthfulness due to her mother's passive magical powers. And then after leaving her tower and her mother's care she slowly starts morphing into her natural, biological age. She is terrified of that (because she's been sheltered all her life and had no idea her body could do that) and that fuels her nervous breakdown in Act 2.

Jesus Heals a Man with an Unclean Spirit
1 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gadarenes.
2 And when He had come out of the boat, immediately there met Him from out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
3 who had his dwelling among the tombs. And no man could bind him, no, not even with chains,
4 because he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been rent asunder by him and the fetters broken in pieces; neither could any man tame him.
5 And always, night and day, he was in the mountains and in the tombs, crying out and cutting himself with stones.
6 But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped Him,
7 and cried with a loud voice, and said, “What have I to do with Thee, Jesus, Thou Son of the Most High God? I adjure Thee by God that Thou torment me not!”
8 For He had said unto him, “Come out of the man, thou unclean spirit.”
9 And Jesus asked him, “What is thy name?” And he answered, saying, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”
10 And he besought Him much that He would not send them away out of the country.
11 Now there was there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding.
12 And all the devils besought Him, saying, “Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them.”
13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the swine; and the herd ran violently down a steep place and into the sea (they were about two thousand), and were choked in the sea.
14 And those who fed the swine fled, and told it in the city and in the country. And the people went out to see what it was that had been done.
15 And they came to Jesus, and saw him that had been possessed by the devil and had the legion, sitting and clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
16 And those who saw it told the people what had befallen him that was possessed by the devil, and also concerning the swine.
17 And they began to pray Him to depart from their borders.
18 And when He had gotten into the boat, he that had been possessed with the devil prayed Him that he might be with Him.
19 But Jesus suffered him not, and said unto him, “Go home to thy friends, and tell them what great things the Lord hath done for thee, and how He hath had compassion on thee.”
20 And he departed and began to proclaim in Decapolis what great things Jesus had done for him. And all men marveled. — Mark 5:1-20 | 21st Century King James Version (KJV21) The Holy Bible; 21st Century King James Version Copyright © 1994 by Deuel Enterprises, Inc. Notes: Mark 5:1-20 is a story in the Bible about Jesus exorcising a demoniac man in a cemetery on the eastern shore of the Sea of Galilee. The story is the longest and most complex of the exorcisms in the Gospel of Mark.

Nine Biblical Reasons to Reject Donald Trump as a Candidate for President
Wednesday is for Political Controversy I don’t want to write this post.  Despite the fact that I wrote a book with the title Picking a President or Any Other Elected Official, I’m not a really political person.  I’m a registered Independent. Have been all my life. I wish all Christians were registered Independents. I don’t think it is wise for Christians to be identified with either or any…

1. When you need, God knows:
Philippians 4:19 (NIV). “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
2. When you ask, God listens:
Proverbs 15:29 (ESV). “The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.”
3. When you believe, God works:
2 Kings 20:5 (NIV). “I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will heal you.”
4. When you thank, God gives more. Jesus gave thanks and fed the five thousand!
Matthew 14:17-21 (NIV). “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered. “Bring them here to me,” he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children.”
5. Everything comes from God:
James 1:17 (AMP). “Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].”
6. And whatever you give, you'll get just as much back, if not more!
Luke 6:38 (CSB). “Give, and it will be given to you; a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over—will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.”
We serve a good, loving and giving God! Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌
