"Oh, I couldn't let them open this place again. Could I? Not after what happened. Oh, my sweet, innocent Jason."

Friday the 13th (1980)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
This is a repost of a previous evaluation.
Friday the 13th takes place mostly during a thunderstorm, during which the occasional lightning creates a very minor strobe effect. There is one scene where a police car’s lights are turned on, creating a much more mild strobe than modern police cars have.
There is extensive use of POV shots, or handheld cameras that simulate what a character is seeing through their own eyes, during which the camera shakes somewhat.
Flashing Lights: 3/10. Motion Sickness: 7/10.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Blood, gore, and jump scares. A real snake is killed by machete on-screen, which was not a special effect. There is one scene of a white man dressing and acting like a Native American caricature.

Thank Goodness it's Thursday Part 1 - Friday the 13th (1980)
In today's review, I throw caution to the wind at Camp Crystal Lake As I attempt a #positive review of the inaugural Friday the 13th #BetsyPalmer #AdrienneKing #HarryCrosby #JeannineTaylor #LaurieBartram #KevinBacon #MarkNelson #RexEverhart #RonnCarroll #WaltGorney #AriLehman
Friday the 13th, an ominous day with its origins draped in mythology and superstition, is now mostly associated with a masked murder in a dozen films. What started as a simple cash-in on the rising slasher market, would soon blossom into the most iconic titans of the genre.
