I am to starting un-following people who are being antisemitic in the name of free Palestine. People who I was following for fan fandom things just blogging and re-blogging antisemitic propaganda and spreading misinformation. I had to un-followed someone who joked about how Hamas should be president, I don't care if it was a joke. It is was not funny.
Almost everything I see in regards to free Palestine movement has antisemitism in it. People are supporting know antisemitic terrorists groups and still think they are woke.
If you are not Jewish it is not for you to say what is or is not antisemitism. Jewish people have stood with other marginalized groups but have not seen that same support for us. It is like everyone hates us, no mater what.
Someone said Jewish people talking about antisemitism when Palestinians are suffering is the same as turning the phrase "black lives matter" to "white lives matter." If I see another non Jewish indigenous person calling Jewish people European colonizers I will go crazy. Stop comparing The Middle East to North America and Australia and stop erasing Jewish history.
People saying Jewish people have white privilege ignores that fact they have and still experience prosecution based on looks. Personally, strangers have knew I was Jewish without me saying anything and I do not have a Jewish last name. People have told me to my fact that I was too pretty to be Jewish and that I was unconventionally attractive and why I was not getting lady leading roles. Because I was cute but in a weird quirky way. I love playing the quirky characters, I see myself in them, they wear awesome costumes and I have fun playing them. But those are not commitments. The white actors and musician, people who are considered unconventionally attractive are usually ethically Jewish. Those are just small microaggression.
I should not have to education people on what blood libel is, they should do it themselves. This Ignores the fact Jewish people have been experience prosecution for over 2000s years and the massive increase in hate crimes targeted towards them.
-----
Also, I am annoyed that my posts about antisemitism are doing better than my posts about fan-fiction, fandom and my interests.

In October 1993 Ethan returned to the UK to start his West End run as Erik, The Phantom. His performance included a lot of references to the Erik from the original novel and earned him the nickname "The Leroux Phantom".
His Christine’s included Claire Moore and Jill Washington.
With Ethan's birthday coming up next month we thought it would be nice to look back on all the incredible roles he has performed over the years.

you can't say israel is a horrible barbaric state and there are no civilians bc (almost) everybody is required to serve in the idf and then turn around and say an actor is a disgusting awful baby killer who should never get another acting job bc they served in the idf. that's having your baby-blood matzah and eating it too

When the tv show "Hogan's Heroes" premiered on CBS in 1965, it faced criticism that it was making light of World War 2 and was being insensitive to those who suffered under the Nazis.
But the fact that the cast included several Jewish actors who actually had suffered under the Nazis brought some credibility to what the show was trying to achieve.
- Werner Klemperer (Colonel Klink) was born in Cologne, Germany, in 1920, and was the son of a prominent orchestra conductor, but, because they were Jewish, his family fled Germany to escape the Nazis, and Klemperer served in the U.S. Army in World War 2. When Klemperer was approached to play Colonel Klink, he agreed to do it only if the writers made Klink an idiot. He did this to honor his father.
- John Banner (Sergeant Schultz) was born Johann Banner in Austria in 1910, but fled the country following the Nazi annexation. He served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during the war, and even posed for U.S. Military recruiting posters. Of his character on "Hogan's Heroes" Banner once said, "I see Schultz as the representative of some kind of goodness in any generation."
- Leon Askin (General Burkhalter) was born Leon Aschkenasy in Austria in 1907, and as a child he once performed before Franz Joseph, Emperor of Austria-Hungary. In the 1930s, Askin was arrested by the SA and later beaten severely while in the custody of the SS. He fled to the United States and served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during the war. Both of his parents died in the Treblinka concentration camp.
- Robert Clary (Corporal LeBeau) was born Robert Widerman in Paris in 1926, and was the youngest of 14 children. In 1942, Clary's family was arrested and deported to concentration camps. Clary eventually went to Buchenwald, where he survived by singing concerts for the SS guards. Most of the rest of his family was killed at Auschwitz. Clary was liberated on April 11, 1945.
Robert Clary was the only major cast member still living until yesterday, November 16, 2022, when he died at the age of 96. From his arrival at the concentration camp until his death, he carried the number A5714 tattooed on his arm.
Post Script: Howard Caine, who played Major Wolfgang Hochstetter on the show, also was Jewish, but he was born in the United States. He served honorably in the U.S. Armed Forces during the Second World War.

Rachel Sofaer, Jewish actress in Kolkata, in the Bollywood classic 'Punarianma: A Life Divine' in 1932.
Her family of Baghdadi Jews had migrated from Iraq first to Burma and then India. When Rachel's father fell on hard times financially, he permitted his daughter to act under the name Arati Devi. She was accompanied to the set by her mother and married a Baghdadi Jewish man in 1933 at age 21, never again acting in a film. Her cousin Abraham Sofaer became a Hollywood character actor. x

Fun little reminder that for centuries Jewish people had to lie about not being Jewish in order to protect their own lives, find work, buy homes, and just plain exist… And now openly non-Jewish actors are paid millions of dollars to play Jews, while Jewish actors are cast aside and sent away.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer's hair and makeup department really had us convinced that Sarah Michelle Gellar was a basic white California valley girl. Fucks me up that she naturally looks like this:

Leaving Avis here- I do t know, inspiration hit and I kinda like this one!
But this quote hits deep to be honest. Antisemitism is on the rise,. Jewish actors/actresses are being erased from the scene by non Jewish actors who play roles of Jewish characters. It’s disappointing…
Yes, Patti LuPone is absolutely amazing as Avis Amberg, I LOVE her in this character! Avis is Iconic!!!!!
But still, there are so many women who are actually Jewish, like Avis. They weren’t given a chance to break through in this roll. Even when they’d be able to add an aspect to the character that a non jewish actress wouldn’t be able to do. There are aspects to Avis’s character that could have been enhanced by the personal experiences of Jewish women. (Sorry- wording reads a little weird here. I am not words today)
The character of Avis faces death threats, hate crimes, being looked over in the acting industry, being left behind and abandoned by society due to physical features that were not in her control. Also for being a part of a minority ethnic group.
Jewish women have struggled with these things relentlessly for generations. Jewish women have wrested antisemitism and hate and have been targeted because of their Jewish heritage.
Now I do know that Patti has experience with hate, abuse and bullying in the industry. I acknowledge her struggle and the pain it causes her. It’s valid! No one should be treated in such terrible ways! People need to respect others no matter what!
Yet she hasn’t faced what many Jewish women have gone through for generations.
Sadly, we carry so much generational trauma from such acts of pure violence.
Many women in my community have first hand experience with all of this. Go up to any woman/girl at any synagogue and they’ll have at least one story about an act of antisemitic hate, violate, comment, joke, micro aggressions- made towards them.
Patti hasn’t experienced these acts of hate in this specific situation and circumstance. She can’t. Because she’s not a Jewish woman.
Jewish women shouldn’t be facing violence or hate. No one should.
We can start making the entertainment industry more accessible to Jewish people, by giving Jewish people the spotlight for the characters who are written as being Jews!

Ethan and Anne Görner in The Phantom of the Opera
Ethan was the first Jewish actor in history to perform the role of The Phantom. A favourite of Hal Prince, Ethan performed the role on West End as well as in Toronto, Vienna and Germany.
Together with Hal he worked to include as many aspects of Erik, the Phantom, from the original Leroux novel as possible in the musical, earning him the nickname "The Leroux Phantom" amongst Phans.

I’m watching “Good” with Viggo Mortensen and Jason Isaacs (of course).
I… haven’t been this afraid for any character in anything in a long time. Historical pictures are so scary sometimes.
