he can usually tell when you’re upset, so he’ll hand you a drink (unless ur underage/don’t drink) and says something cheesy like “whats botherin ya, chief?” 

he’ll listen to everything you have to say, probably adding in his “two cents” every once in awhile,  but mostly just nodding and listening 

offers you some of his advice, which is as good as dad advice can get, but still good! he’s trying his best! he might try to distract you from whatevers bothering you too, by talking about Parsley or food or people that come into the bar 

if you want, he’ll take you somewhere you like to hang out, like a movie, or if he can convince you, a sports game/gym 

working out always cheers him up!!! if you have the energy, he’ll go on a jog or walk with you, or help you lift some (light) weights, or hell he might even play Just Dance if he REALLY wants to get that blood flowin

🍺- So you were kinda cautious about bringing reptiles and stuff into the lounge because you didn’t want Jimothan to kick you out of the lounge, literally and figuratively.

🍺- You kept the reptiles in the pocket of your jacket or something, somewhere they couldn’t be seen.

🍺- Then one day while you weren’t looking the lizard zoomed out of its hiding spot, and started running to the closest crack in the wall like its life depended on it.

🍺- Needless to say you were really surprised when Jimothan managed to snatch the lizard clean off the ground no sweat.

🍺- When you ask how he managed to grab that lizard he tells you he was in Boy Scouts when he was younger and he caught a lot of lizards during the camping trips.

🍺- You ask him if you’re able to bring more reptiles into the lounge and he agrees!

🍺- Whenever you bring a new lizard in you guys just kinda nerd out over it and guess what kinda lizard it is if you don’t already know.

🍺- He’ll occasionally pet the lizard if it’s not too busy (which is often)

🍺- Now snakes. When you bring in a snake for the first time he’s a little hesitant about it.

🍺- He tells you that he did try to catch a snake once during one of his camping trips as a kid and it ended up biting him so he tends to avoid them.

🍺- Did he cry? Yes. No.

🍺- So it takes a little bit of convincing for him to let you keep the snake around but it’s mostly an easy battle.

🍺- You teach him how to properly hold snakes so that he doesn’t get bitten again.

olay okay okay what about jimothan and parsley's feelings towards you getting together with habit after everything that happened?

This is gunna be interesting. To keep everyone on the same page, I wanna state that this is taking place after a lily ending BUT the reader has told Jimothan and Parlsey about what happened to them during the “Big Event” 

• Habit wanted you to be honest with Jimothan and Parsley... mostly because he was afraid they’d find out later and just collectively kick his ass. 

• You sit them down and just, very calmly fill them in, everything from the days start through your first coffee date with him. Jimothan and Parsley are silent. By the end of it Jimothan is just, slack jawed in disbelief and Parsley just, puts his hands togehter, and has them in front of his mouth and is just /staring/ at you. 

• Jimothan tries to just be, level headed. “Well... we all kind of knew Dr. Habit was... off and well-” “I’ll Punch his teeth out of his stupid face!” “Parsley calm down!” “I’ll DO IT!!!” “No... no you wont.” “..... YOU DON’T KNOW!!!”

• Parsley pouts because he was Called Out (tm) but you also actively try to calm him down. You explain that, yeah, what happened was rough, but Boris and you have talked about it, and you assure them both, he’s seeking help. You wouldn’t pursue him the way you are if he wasn’t making an effort to get better. 

• Jimothan absolutely just wants you to be happy and safe, and as long as you feel safe and are happy with Boris, it’s all he can ask. But you say the word and he is ready to SPRING. Parsley will also just side eye Boris every time you bring him around. Just an intense stare of like “you better watch it around MY SIBLING.” 

• Jimotahn has ABSOLUTELY sat Habit down and had that fatherly “you best treat my child right” talk despite being like, not much older than Habit. Habit is still very intimidated by this despite being like a full foot taller than Jimothan.

-Jimothan was most definitely a little caught off guard at first, to put it into simple terms,,Sure he was surprised for sure but,,,could he really be that scared of the person he adores??? The answer is haha no

-The fact that you try super hard to not scare him away and be as gentle as you possibly can is just,,,,v endearing to him,,and a lil amusing to see someone that intimidating be a big sweetheart,,

Habit

-It definitely takes him a while to work up the courage, assuming he’s the one initiating. It’s a big deal to him! It’s gotta be just right … It’s a pretty big landmark of any relationship, so he’s gotta make sure that it’s a good one! 

-He spends a pretty lengthy amount of time agonizing over when the right time and situation is. Is the tone right? Would you even like kissing? Oh, he’s gonna look silly asking, isn’t he?

-Whenever he does eventualy decide the time’s right, you’re still gonna have to give him a little bit of time. He’s trying really hard to make sure he doesn’t lean in too fast and put you off or break your nose, those would both be pretty not-fun situations. You might have to be the first one to make a real move, since he’s playing a little too convervatively to try and make sure you’re comfortable.

-However it works best for you, he’ll do it. Yes, his knees are starting to cramp from getting down like this to be more reachable for you and yes it kind of hurts and yes he’s fine please keep going. He’s definitely tense and you can feel his hands shaking a little bit (partly because he’s nervous and partly because hunching over is reaally starting to hurt. yeowch.), but he relaxes a little bit after a few seconds.

-He’s pretty inexperienced, so you’ll have to cut him some slack, but it’s clear he cares. I mean, the big grin and following excited giggling tells you as much, even if words might be escaping him right now.

-He’s maybe a little too confident in some respects. Sure, he’s got some experience and all that, but he might be letting that get to his head just a little bit. He has a few little inklings of doubt, since, while it’s not his first kiss ever or anything, it’s still a pretty big deal. He’s a pretty traditional guy, and he knows that every first in a relationship is something that’s gotta be perfect.

-He’s probably not gonna push for it, even if he feels so confident about it. He’s a firm believer in ‘it’ll happen when it happens’ when it comes to this, he’s gotta make sure the moment is right, and he’ll only know that if you’re making some moves.

-He might tease a little bit, but that’s really only because he likes getting a rise out of you and feeling like a charmer. So you best expect him to be laying it on thick whenever you seem interested in moving a little further.

-He’s actually pretty considerate despite all his teasing, doesn’t push for it and he prefers to let you take the lead. He’s doing his best to make sure it’s perfect for you, since he’d consider it happening at all a win for him, but for you it’s gotta be a real gold memory in his mind.

-He’s not bad, experience has definitely helped him, but he’s still a little messy with it. He likes to think he’s unforgettable, at least. As long as it was good enough for you, he’s happy.

-At first,,he’s not totally sure of what to do, he doesn’t know very much about it but..he’s willing to help how he can. He tries to learn more about it and how you can kinda,,deal with it, so to say

-He’s actually really understanding! He knows that you can’t help the symptoms and problems that come with it, so he really hates the idea of nagging you or commenting on it rudely,,

-He tries his best to remind you of certain things when he can, and he tries his best to help you focus on certain things. Like,,if you guys are talking with someone and you just kinda, stare into space and fidget awkwardly, he’ll try and involve you a little more in hopes that it’ll help you kinda like,,stay there in a way lmao

-When you make progress he’s super proud of you! Like,,,if he doesn’t have to remind you of forgetting something he gets super proud! It shows! -ahh man he works as a bar tender he’s use- jUST KIDDING

-He actually gets flustered and embarrassed over it, like,,,if you’re in the longue while he’s working, he already knows exactly what you’re gonna say at one point or another. It’d be a lot nicer if Jerafina somehow never forgot what you’d say, even in her drunken bout 

-He’ll usually try and play it off like nothing, unsurprisingly. Though..as I’m sure you might’ve guessed before, he’s really not the best at doing that.

-He tries to return the favor as best as he can by complimenting you a bunch! But alas, you do it much better than he can, by quite a long shot, really

-He’s the old-fashioned, super domestic type, so most times he’s used to being the one giving compliments, so when you go ahead and compliment him? He lowkey just gets really happy abt it,,

-Also wishes his own son wouldn’t bring it up as not-very-good-blackmail, that’d be nice too

-All in all, while he might not be the best when it comes to 1-upping you as far as compliments go, it’s nice to see him try at the very least. 

-He’s flustered, embarrassed, but really happy whenever you compliment him, since it lets him now that the feelings y’all have are genuine

Jimothan w/ an S/O that overworks themself [rewritten, 2024]

-He can’t blame you too much, he’s a working man himself! The only difference is he knows his limits, of course. You can talk to the lamest of customers at the bar for a while, but you can’t help them write a book, y’know? (The anecdote is a little confused, and he keeps changing it, but you get the gist of it enough.)

-He doesn’t like being too forceful, so he’ll try his best to get you doing something other than work through his expert persuasion skills, which typically amount to him offering to do something with you and then entertwining your arms to start walking off before you can finish responding. You have to respond to everything in proportion, so when the matter is important to him, he’s gonna have to do what he’s gotta do to get you to take a break. 

-He’s pretty good at keeping people preocupied, actually, probably picked it up over time bartending. Sometimes the topic of his rambling flies a little bit over your head (you could’ve sworn he was just talking about baseball a second ago, why’s he talking about a goalie..?), but he talks with such an enthusiasm that you can’t help but listen along anyway. If it takes being a little more personal to keep your ear, he’s more than happy to hear whatever you’ve gotta say, even if it might be something he already knows about you (chances are he’ll throw in a little joke about wanting to get to know an attractive stranger, he’s just trying to get a rise out of you because he thinks its fun and if you do give him one then he’s puffing up his chest in pride. congrats.). 

-He’s keeping you for at least an hour or two, you’ve gotta take a real break! He’s not gonna let you off with just a smidge! You can’t keep your nose to the copier, so they say. If he can’t just persuade you into it, he’ll get a little more direct about it. He’s trying to come off a little more stern, but it really comes off as him frantically trying to come up with a good explanation as to why you’ve gotta take five that isn’t just a confused metaphor he doesn’t really finish.

-You’ll have to cave in eventually. He’s not trying to control your life or nothing, he’s just worried. It’s a little hard for him to put into too proper of words, he’s not the best at being super up front and clear about his emotions, of course, but it’s clear that he’s making an effort to keep you in good shape, and that speaks for something. Besides, him sticking by your side while you take a breather, whether you’re sitting at the bar or watching something poorly written on tv, speaks to the same chord. He could be walking off to do .. whatever, but he finds himself glued to your side instead. He attributes it to wanting to make sure you’re not sneaking paperwork or something under the table, but that doesn’t really accurately address things.

-Alas, he’s too busy talking about some story you’re 90% sure is at least a quarter fabricated to delve too deep into that, actively focusing on little details whenever they get a reaction out of you. Sad!
