To-day is the date of my last letter, and the Count has taken steps to prove that it was genuine, for again I saw him leave the castle by the same window, and in my clothes. As he went down the wall, lizard fashion, I wished I had a gun or some lethal weapon, that I might destroy him; but I fear that no weapon wrought alone by man's hand would have any effect on him.

Oh Jonathan is so done with this shit. And fully conscious of the hold ✨ lizard fashion ✨ has on us.

"To-morrow, my friend, we must part."

Close at hand came the howling of many wolves. It was almost as if the sound sprang up at the rising of his hand, just as the music of a great orchestra seems to leap under the bâton of the conductor.

But still the door continued slowly to open, and only the Count's body stood in the gap. Suddenly it struck me that this might be the moment and means of my doom; I was to be given to the wolves, and at my own instigation. […]

In silence we returned to the library, and after a minute or two I went to my own room. The last I saw of Count Dracula was his kissing his hand to me; with a red light of triumph in his eyes, and with a smile that Judas in hell might be proud of.

little updates on STASIS!

the garden has gotten a big remodel, and is now called zone Eden! ( a little on the nose, i know.) it will serve much the same purpose, but i figured to lighten it up a bit since it was one of the first maps i worked on when i started STASIS. safe to say it looked very weird and out of place (mostly quality-wise) with the rest of the project.

i'm planning on making it a sort of hub for you to rest and work on side-quests between (or during) your ventures across the zones. think of it like clock town from majoras mask, lots of stuff to do that unlocks as you play through the main campaign

zone Adam is probably about 70-80%ish complete! i have everything fully outlined, most of the maps completed, all the combat balancing set up, i just need to work on polishing/creating some maps and writing dialogue. when zone Adam is completed, ill make sure to try to get a demo out.

zone Judas, Genesis, and Sychar are very much in the writing/conceptualizing process. i'm working on setting up story beats, world designs, character designs, etc. expect not to see much from any of these 3 until after zone Adam is in a finished state.

and heres a little peak at a new character! his name is eddy and he's the headman of all things vehicular. expect to see him as a train conductor or basically anything else that can be driven.

and finally, thanks for reading all this and being so patient! its difficult balancing real life stuff with game development, and i really do enjoy working on STASIS. you guys are incredible, i couldnt ask for a better group of people supporting my endeavours.

About: Aurora / S-OB096 💛🦑

The little lady! Starting OC introductions with a character that apparently people like? I might be crazy, but I like her!

💛 She's from "The Goliath" and she's the secondary protagonist.

💖 Aurora is a 14 year old girl... Kind of. She's not fully human, actually she's a genetically altered human girl, her DNA was modified with a substance called Ocean Blood that exists in her world, and cuttlefish DNA!

So she's a squid, but also a girl. She was born and raised in a heavily controlled lab. Her creator (not really a father) is a man named Judas, we'll talk about him later. Her biological parents were random donors, so they don't come into play.

She's sometimes referred to as S-OB096, which is just her subject title (subject-ocean blood 096), but she's got a name, so don't call her that.

💙 Personality, likes, dislikes

Aurora is a bit difficult to deal with. She doesn't have a lot of knowledge of the real world, and she doesn't really care, so she doesn't abide to social norms. She's quiet for the most part, aloof and prefers the company of animals to people.

She can also act a bit feral from time to time, overall she doesn't like people and keeps to herself. Otherwise, she can let her emotions get to her, she can be impulsive and reckless, often ignoring danger or becoming very upset. She's also cocky and has a bit of an ego, since she knows she's special, smart, and one of a kind, so she tends to feel a bit superior to others.

Inside she's very lonely, she feels out of place and like she doesn't belong with people, but also not in the ocean since she's not an animal. She's stuck in the middle and she feels very isolated, and like nobody understands since she has many special abilities that make her very different. She carries a lot of pain, her own and the world's, and she feels very overwhelmed.

Aurora likes crabs, a lot. She also likes coloring, not drawing, just coloring. She loves music and dancing. HATES shoes, would rather die than wear them, can tolerate socks, doesn't really like coffee and doesn't find sweet things that appealing. She also enjoys movies and gets easily bored.

💛 Abilities and other quirks:

Aurora is special, she's not only a fish girl, but she also has a lot of cool powers. She might come across as OP, and she is but she's also a child and has no real control over anything.

• Camouflage: her skin and hair is covered in chromatophores, just like cuttlefish, so she's able to change her skin and hair to match her enviroment! She often changes her looks for fun, to match the rhythm of music, or when scared/angry just like squids.

• Underwater breathing: self-explanatory, she can breathe underwater!

• Speaking to animals: Aurora can talk to anything that is alive under the sea! This is almost telepathic at times, and the animals understand her human words.

• Has control over ocean blood: this substance is alive in her world, and it follows her command. She can use it as a weapon, or as a friend, and she can also communicate with it, as it's the ocean itself.

• Electrokinesis: Ocean blood is a conductor of electricity and also produces it's own energy, it is used to make the world go round and most electronics run on it, so by extension she can control this as well.

• Others: she has blue blood (copper based), webbed hands and fin-like ears, very strong bite force and sharp teeth, and she has "w" shaped pupils to be able to see in dark and light enviroments!

Groundhog day 2024 or Forty one days since 2023 Winter Solstice

Rather than be a day late and dollar short, I opted to post poem acknowledging the second of February, where eponymous groundhog gets his (most often male) foretelling whether there will be six more weeks of winter upon oblate spheroid generating hoopla whether spring will arrive early and satiate those folks who favor spring.

increase in daylight

I dared not wait to see him return, for I feared to see those weird sisters. I came back to the library, and read there till I fell asleep.

I was awakened by the Count, who looked at me as grimly as a man can look as he said:

"To-morrow, my friend, we must part. You return to your beautiful England, I to some work which may have such an end that we may never meet. Your letter home has been despatched; to-morrow I shall not be here, but all shall be ready for your journey. In the morning come the Szgany, who have some labours of their own here, and also come some Slovaks. When they have gone, my carriage shall come for you, and shall bear you to the Borgo Pass to meet the diligence from Bukovina to Bistritz. But I am in hopes that I shall see more of you at Castle Dracula." I suspected him, and determined to test his sincerity. Sincerity! It seems like a profanation of the word to write it in connection with such a monster, so asked him point-blank:

"Why may I not go to-night?"

"Because, dear sir, my coachman and horses are away on a mission."

"But I would walk with pleasure. I want to get away at once." He smiled, such a soft, smooth, diabolical smile that I knew there was some trick behind his smoothness. He said:

The Count stood up, and said, with a sweet courtesy which made me rub my eyes, it seemed so real:

"You English have a saying which is close to my heart, for its spirit is that which rules our boyars: 'Welcome the coming; speed the parting guest.' Come with me, my dear young friend. Not an hour shall you wait in my house against your will, though sad am I at your going, and that you so suddenly desire it. Come!" With a stately gravity, he, with the lamp, preceded me down the stairs and along the hall. Suddenly he stopped.

"Hark!"

To my intense astonishment I saw that it was unlocked. Suspiciously, I looked all round, but could see no key of any kind.

As the door began to open, the howling of the wolves without grew louder and angrier; their red jaws, with champing teeth, and their blunt-clawed feet as they leaped, came in through the opening door. I knew then that to struggle at the moment against the Count was useless. With such allies as these at his command, I could do nothing. But still the door continued slowly to open, and only the Count's body stood in the gap. Suddenly it struck me that this might be the moment and means of my doom; I was to be given to the wolves, and at my own instigation. There was a diabolical wickedness in the idea great enough for the Count, and as a last chance I cried out:

"Shut the door; I shall wait till morning!" and covered my face with my hands to hide my tears of bitter disappointment. With one sweep of his powerful arm, the Count threw the door shut, and the great bolts clanged and echoed through the hall as they shot back into their places.

In silence we returned to the library, and after a minute or two I went to my own room. The last I saw of Count Dracula was his kissing his hand to me; with a red light of triumph in his eyes, and with a smile that Judas in hell might be proud of.

When I was in my room and about to lie down, I thought I heard a whispering at my door. I went to it softly and listened. Unless my ears deceived me, I heard the voice of the Count:

"Back, back, to your own place! Your time is not yet come. Wait! Have patience! To-night is mine. To-morrow night is yours!" There was a low, sweet ripple of laughter, and in a rage I threw open the door, and saw without the three terrible women licking their lips. As I appeared they all joined in a horrible laugh, and ran away.

I came back to my room and threw myself on my knees. It is then so near the end? To-morrow! to-morrow! Lord, help me, and those to whom I am dear!

Since TWEWY loves its little biblical references like Angels (duh,) Joshua's name referencing a biblical figure and being close to a version of Jesus' name, him being called Him and being a god-like being walking around in human form, the villainous Conductor being a snake, Joshua opening up his arms when seemingly sacrificing himself so his pose resembles a cross, and this very, very subtle part:

I wonder if the part in the anime where Joshua reveals his betrayal and responsibility for Neku's death is a Judas reference.

He walks up to him and seemingly leans for a kiss when he reveals what he's done, but doesn't actually do that (I think even Josh would think that kissing someone and going "btw I killed you lol" would be a bit too much.)

...Or maybe it's not referencing that at all and it's just our good friend Josh doing his usual gay shit.

Final Hope

Disarrayed and broke from the fusion. Silv’a reached an exodus state of his entire former design: a peaking looming titan of a demon only remained with it’s massive stature and six arm’s everything about the monstrosity’s sight was erroneous.  Six governing aspect’s of intense unbridled aether began building form in each palm, preparing to unleash this charade and vanquish his oppressors from achieving an unholy outcome. The heathen in tattered black began stirring up. Shiro was extensively wounded from sustaining their joint. The Seeker snarling bit into grinding his teeth together as he staggered up. It was here. The moment whether or not Captain could coexist and function truly as a leader and rally once more, the thought of every other he failed before was worth avenging to show them they weren’t ever in vain. His own childish spirit who once foretold the god’s to the skies in his distraught, yelling at them, he’d show the ability to stand tall. Weakened badly and then endearing pale arm’s hopped and spiteful wrapped around a piggy-back on him with the managed childhood friend Viera who resupplied him a bundle of missing reservoir of aether to let loose. “Now or never!”  Her vivacious tune remained a carrier to keep spirit’s drift. Her supporting role did still take her own sustaining force of life to refill into the Captain. “Listen up matey’s if there ever was a time for me to ask a steal ov’ yer strength, now’s the time, for us to break past our limits! Like we practiced, let's wave our flag out t’ put him down fer good!” Bodies all mangled and beaten began pulsing together and rallying from their rubble, supporting one another to stand. Each hearing the necessary command. The defeat mortality was defiled with every push of their adrenaline, their act to not let their peers lose hope. Clutching armaments and composure with the almighty of resolve. Each had enough to push to one-delivering in their final attacks. Throughout intense missions fetching and gathering foreign relics and being deployed with team-work and each rotated in groups they became knit. Not to mention each was chasing after their own lofty dream and ambition that only came with advancing through advisories. [Limit Break: Waving Flag] Forming together they regrouped, Klethera and Nihilus in front crossing their blades like an X, obscurely behind that the maiden from sea drew from her depths a pristine bubble meant to contain other aether. Soon after she prayed it out, she collapsed. Gark drew in and empowered it with mighty explosive volcanic flames that raged within. Judas furthered it by surrounding it with his wind aspect and accounted for the trajectory and dialing it to launch at charge. Sheik the bard began reciting morale boosting tales with a harp’s play. “I’ll claim my limits tomorrow n’ beyond!” The Seeker snarled off with a facially earth defying shout. Recognizing his threshold for a current limit, to surpass. He’d draw from the wellspring granting his source… Erupting explosively. Every particle and dormant amdapori cell accumulated to his worth, activated with one verbal outcry as his finger-gun took center aim, “Golden Shot!” Amplified by Viera's mystical support like an energizing conductor that strapped to him like an aetheric backpack. Their forming bomb whizzed underneath the sword-bearers of left and right, each of them in a symmetrical rush began scaling against the walls using their tails for balance before landing on the enlarged demon and each respectively sliced through a pair of chunky arms. De-powering the six cast to four. Screeches followed through the room and were hauntingly covered with vines of foul from the devil. The bubble bursts face first exploding the entire horned head leaving extensive damage. The Golden ray that busted from Captain’s fingertip met in a collision with the devil’s ultimus assault in a confronting struggle. The one that decided life and death. Sheepish Sol peaked between the busts after getting a quick sleep, spending his time ever conserving, ‘ain’t no time to have time’, often said with his brain-aneurysm inducing psyche, under slumber an opposite effect occurred, instead of counting sheep, he was counting humanoids, albeit in a more grim dark manner watching them hop over fences into a pit. Noticing the action he would take the frontal stage, always chasing for attention and wanting to be involved for glory. He’d start hurling yelling insults to taunt the demon, with combined bleating and shouting meh’s mixed over. Typically this would never work, but Sol was always a unique staggering form of annoyance. It made Silv’a retract to three arms back and forth, and use one to solely work on trying to fist-pound with full mighty pulverizing intent. Constantly Sol kept running laps between out of reach and range to be swatted. Each Crewmate was valuing what they could to show colors and hoist over this unrelentingly advisory. All of them were crucial element’s in if anyone wanted to survive. wolves

I. OVERVIEW

therians gifted with the form of a wolf are known as wolf therians, werewolves, or, more commonly, just wolves. they have the ability to turn into wolves of slightly abnormal size, and with it many other abilities to go alongside this form.

wolves are known for having a pack mentality, of sticking close to one another and more easily clumping together. they are almost always social beings due to their wolf forms, though this can be limited strictly to their packs. for them, a "lone wolf" is less a rugged individualist, uncompromising and independent trying to forge their own path and more a wolf in search of something, typically other wolves that fit to their own ideals and ideologies. wolves form deeply emotional bonds and are known for being collaborative and communicative - though, again, this can often be limited strictly to their packs.

II. GOVERNANCE

therians typically govern themselves the same way their animals forms would. wolves have a hierarchy consisting of different positions within each pack, much like their wolf counterparts. this includes leaders called alphas, second-in-commands called betas, messengers known as deltas, guardians known as epsilons, and much more. a full list of positions within packs will be available on site once we open.

III. ALLIANCES

therians have a connection to those who also know what it's like to walk in another form, to have feet in two worlds.

shifters shifters and therians are branches of similar species and as such when it comes to their hatred against vampires, they can ally with one another. however, this is only under dire circumstances as normally the two species hate one another.

familiars familiars and therians both have animal forms, something that breeds a sense of understanding between the two.

merfolk merfolk and therians both can communicate with their respective animals and have two separate forms, something that breeds a sense of understanding between the two.

IV. FOES

therians have natural foes in any who stand against them, as they are typically fiercely protective and have enhanced survival instincts naturally.

shifters as the cursed version of shifters, therians are seen as lesser than. as such, therians rightfully take offense to this and the two species have been at odds since therians were created.

vampires for as long as anyone knows, vampires and shifters have been at war. one being around the other has always made them both uncomfortable, as if their very being is at war with the other. when therians were cursed and their species created from that of shifters, this behavior stayed as well.

V. PHYSIOLOGY

BEGINNER

- THERIAN PHYSIOLOGY therian physiology gives them enhanced features, such as strength, durability, speed, agility, etc, as well as allows them to transform into their therian form, a dire beast version of their animal spirit, something that occurs with the lunar cycle due to their curse. this also allows a therian to convert another being into a therian. therians can not turn to and from their animal form at will until mastering this at a higher level and they must transform under periods of extreme mental or physical stress, such as illness or exhaustion. additionally, they can sense directions like a compass, knowing where a specific direction is.

- REGENERATIVE HEALING this ability allows a therian to heal in half the time it might take a human. minor wounds such as cuts, bruises and light burns heal faster than normal and therians are easily able to recover from minor to moderate blood loss. critical wounds such as lost limbs, damaged nerves, and internal organs cannot be regenerated, as wounds would simply close up faster and lost organs remain lost, and cells that are fatally damaged, such as by burning, cannot be regenerated, resulting in permanent scarring.

- MIND LINK RECEPTION this is the power to link minds with other living being, sharing thoughts, memories, emotions or feelings. this is a pack or therian family connection. at this level, the therian is receptive of the mind link created by others within their pack if allowed but they cannot create that link on their own until a higher level.

NOVICE

- CANINE PHYSIOLOGY this power creates a link between the wolf therian and canines, such as wolves, foxes, jackals, coyotes, and domestic dogs. this can be used to calm these animals, to handle these animals, and can call these animals to them, something that can be scary when first encountered. it does not, however, allow the user to communicate with these animals.

- ENHANCED SMELL this power allows the therian to detect specific persons, objects, substances or even places, locate their origin, and track targets with nothing but their nose.

- TEMPERATURE REGULATION wolf therians have the power to maintain a certain body temperature for extended periods of time, allowing them to stay cool when in hot temperatures and warm in cold temperatures to a point.

- ENHANCED ROAR therians with this ability are able to shout so loud that the user can blow away objects or break objects with their ferocious vocal cords, if at an expert level and using this ability. this is most commonly used to alert someone of the user's location. for wolf therians, the roar comes in the form of a howl.

COMPETENT

- PREDATOR INSTINCT the user possesses predatory instincts, allowing them to become masters of hunting and tracking. one with this ability can discern numerous factors of a situation that make them a master of pursuit and capture, just like their animal spirit.

- FERAL MIND user can tap into primal, unstoppable rage that allows them to perform in vastly increased capacity, taking and inflicting damage that they wouldn't in their normal state. in some cases, the user's mind descends so far into the feral rage that, mentally, they are little more than animals. typically, this is saved for rare occasions when it is life or death.

PROFICIENT

- ENHANCED BITE the user has particularly strong bite, because of sharp teeth and strong jaw-muscles. their bite is like that of a wolf, easily piercing and tearing flesh and typically causing harm the same way their animal form would. this is especially powerful if when in animal form. they can also use this bite to infect others and turn them into therian, something also specifically powerful while in their animal form.

- MIND LINK CREATION this is the power to link minds with other living being, sharing thoughts, memories, emotions or feelings. this is a pack or therian family connection. at this level, the therian is can create a link on their own with any and all members of their pack that are receptive, including one on one conversations.

EXPERT

- PARTIAL TRANSFORMATION the user can partially transform their body, either by transforming certain parts of their body independently of the rest of it or into a "half-state" between two forms. in the case of therians, this is largely due to increased control over the transformation as well as having experience to get used to the pain that goes with their transformations.

- CONTROLLED TRANSFORMATION at this level a therian can control their transformation, regardless of emotions or nearness to the full moon. therians still need to transform with the full moon but can now transform at will in the time between and can keep from transforming when of high emotion.

VI. WEAKNESSES

therians are harder to kill than humans, but not as hard as the vampires. each have their own weaknesses and advantages, but all are supernatural and gifted in the power to transform, something that can make them dangerous opponents against any who do not suspect their true species. the reality of silver's effect on shifters and therians has been lost to the pages of history, but for generations, packs have passed down similar stories. it goes that judas, the follower of jesus of nazareth, was turned into a shifter in retribution to the lord's suffering. as penitence for betraying the son of man judas' bloodline was cursed with a dire weakness to silver, the very element for which he betrayed jesus, and those very same bloodlines are what make up the earth's modern population of both shifters and therians.

it is known that silver is a lethal conductor of the magic that turns one away from their human form, but the siphoning of said magic is extremely painful, so much so that it has been known to bring the even the strongest of either species to a crashing halt irrespective of age or ability. while brief exposure is painful enough to momentarily cripple an opponent, if silver were to enter their bloodstream they would experience the sensation of being set ablaze. as their body temperature rose, the heat they give off would be enough to boil their main organs, until eventually, they would be met with death.
