Last friday my girlfriend broke up with me..

I’m in doubt whether I’m just feeling okay about it or if I just didn’t realise it yet?

She was something very special to me and I loved her to the moon, still do actually. We were too different and wanted different things in the near future, but also on long term. She wants to work and focus on her career for the next 10-15 years, I want kids in 5-6 years. She was okay with the fact that we were meeting once a week to due her extreme working hours as an architect, I was not okay with that. So she chose too break up with me :)

So last night I was at a birthday party and met this French Canadian girl, super cute, funny etc. I don’t know why I did it but we slept together, even though I in reality didn’t want to sleep with someone else already. She offered me some mdma and after that I would understand if a man gets a little bit horny😆 Also she is studying at the same place where my ex girlfriend just got her masters, KADK and she is also studying to be an architect. It sounds ridiculous when I write it, I found a girl so similar to Alina.

Mentally I’m feeling better and I’m really starting to be okay! Anxiety is not present anymore and neither is my depression.

The last couple of weeks at KADK I have been making art directing and working with the bachelors. Here is some of the assets I have produced. We are making a game about being lost in a haunted museum D:

Tall Shadows Red Whale 2019 By Pezhmann Mokary     A man, once innocent, struggles to leave the dark world of criminals behind and start a new life overseas.     I am a little bit later in reviewing this than I would like but it's a graphic novel and fitting these into a slot to get em done is harder than you think. So I promised I would get this done so here we are. This one is a bit different for me as it's from Denmark and the English translation at time I feel is a bit off but you can still understand what it is that's being said. Also I adore getting books from different parts of the world it allows me the chance to get to see how stories are approached and told with non Western World story's point of view.     The opening is what we see first and it's meant to capture our attention, draw us in and make us want to keep seeing more. The narration we see and the setting itself are enough to get us to wonder what is going to happen. When we see the man who approaches the story begins to take shape even further. Till we reach the end of first chapter where I have my well biggest concern. I am not sure I would have put that there I might have saved that for the end of the book so that what carried to that moment is fleshed to it's fullest and we have a better understanding as to why it happened. Perhaps that's just me but it's really the only issue I have with the book.     Now when we get to see Thirty Years Ago this is when the story really takes off in earnest. I like the way that this is structured as we are introduced to the cast of characters. The way the story & plot development and the character development that we see and how it's woven together with the pacing moving everything forward creates a really nice ebb & flow to the book. There is also a really nice twist to the story that I hadn't expected to see as well. The way that this keeps going is pretty impressive to me and the more you read the more into the story you get. It has a really nice way of seeping into you so that before you realise it you've become engaged and invested into the book.     Now I am always impressed with anyone who can do everything on their own. That Pezhmann does the writing and the interiors means that everything we see is exactly what is intended for the reader to get the maximum effect we need. While the art has a very digital feel to it and you can tell that it's very amateur work that doesn't detract from the story at all. There is some really nice utilisation of light sources showing us really strong shading and shadow work. The various hues and tones that are in use to do this is something that I am really enjoying. The utilisation of the page layouts and how we see the angles and perspective in the panels show a decent eye for storytelling. Plus there is some really nice differences in characters faces, ethnicity and body types on display here.     The way that this ends is rather interesting in and of itself. It does bring us full circle to the opening and by the last we have that perfect understanding of the story. I still would've made one last chapter and inserted the train station scene there instead of where it was. As if he's waiting and pondering what had happened but I get why it is structured the way it is and he pretty much does just that for that exact reason. ​     This is a gripping tale of love, loss, betrayal and searching for the truth. It is told in one of the more unique and original ways that I have seen. As this is the first thing I have read by Pezhmann I have to say I'd be interested in seeing him grow and mature as a storyteller. He has some real talent for storytelling and all it needs is for him to keep at it, putting out more work and honing that skill he has and he will be someone you gravitate towards. I recommend this, I believe that this is something that will be enjoyed by a lot of folks.
