Another ornament used by unmarried girls is the tasak, a metal plate with dangling ornaments all around which fits onto the top of the cap, fas, [from fez] which is worn without a veil. This is an example from Bitlis.
These head pieces are often made of precious metals, and could be very costly. This is an example from Vanakh, between Bitlis and Zgerd.
And here, we have an extraordinary example— where it appears that a girl who could not afford to buy a tasak— made her own out of materials that she had access to.
