serenno and mandalore being in the same neighborhood entertains me greatly as an enjoyer of worldbuilding like

mandalorians are based on multiple historical seafaring peoples. and they're a fairly aggressive warrior culture for the most part, too. surely they fucked with the planets around them. surely they raided and pillaged a little, or maybe even settled.

what i'm getting at is i think it would be funny if serennian and mandalorian royalty were related and count dooku is, idk, satine's 28th cousin thrice removed and will casually drop that in a conversation (and it's not like that's a huge leap of logic either bc all royals are related anyway)

Seeing Bo-Katan's home getting bombed AGAIN just broke my heart!

And Din Djarin holding Bo-Katan back going totally nuts like Fennec Shand did with Boba. Just being the protectiv space husband he should be.

Bo-Katan asking Din how they eat and than her eating alone by the fire. I wonder if that felt strange to her? Or if after everything she's become used to eating alone.

WIP: Obi-Wan raising Luke

The ambient noise of the palace didn't penetrate this deeply underground.  Obi-wan had a hazy memory of Satine making a rough sketch of traditional Mandalorian homes, and the center chamber that would have been the site of a clan's last stand.  New Mandalorian architecture had eschewed this sort of feature.  Instead, they designed buildings that were the complete opposite of this round and windowless room.  Luke had fallen asleep almost as soon as their dinner plates had been cleared away, his head pillowed on Obi-wan's thigh.  Obi-wan didn't blame him.  He had struggled a little with acclimating to the press of so many people around them.  It seemed to overwhelm the boy at times.  But here, in the karyai, the thick walls muffled the presence of others.  The tension knotting Luke's shoulders eased almost from the moment Korkie closed the door behind them. 

Bo-Katan watched him stroke Luke's hair for a moment, then murmured, 'You could stay here, you know.'  She sipped her shig, without taking her eyes off him.  

Obi-wan picked up his own shig, inhaling the citrus-infused steam.  Dozens of past memories assaulted him, but he managed to sip it without betraying his inner turmoil by so much as a trembling hand.  'To what purpose?' he asked.  'Sell the boy and me to the Empire in order to take their attention away from you and your attempts to undermine and overthrow Gar Saxon?'

Bo-Katan snorted.  'Cynical, much?'  She shook her head.  'No.  You would become a member of clan Kryze.'  She looked down at her interlaced hands.  'It’s what she would want.'

Obi-wan blinked the sudden sting from his eyes.  'I thank you,' he replied in a hoarse voice, 'but I wouldn't want to bring the Empire down on your heads by hiding here.'  The corner of his mouth quirked up.  'I'm still wanted, you know.'

'Obi-wan Kenobi, maybe, but not Ben Kryze,' Korkie said.

Obi-wan's wry grin turned into a rueful smile.  'Yes, but I still have Obi-wan Kenobi's face.'

Korkie shared a pleading look with his aunt.  She sat back with a sigh and gave him a single reluctant nod.  'You can wear my great-great-grandfather's armor.  It belonged to my mother’s maternal grandfather.  You can reforge it.  Make it yours.  You would never have to remove your helmet outside the palace, should you choose.'  

His naked longing was almost too much to bear.  Obi-wan allowed himself a brief moment to consider it. He could come to know his son, a joyous reminder of Satine. Proof that she had once walked on this earth.  He could give Luke a family.  He would grow surrounded by love and affection.  He knew beyond all certainty that, should the occasion arise, Korkie would protect Luke. It was part of the Mandalorian Creed.  But Obi-wan had witnessed the lengths the Empire would go to in order to find him.   And if they found him, they would find Luke.  He couldn’t in good conscience subject Mandalore to the Empire’s tender mercies. They had suffered enough as it was.  'This is an extraordinarily generous offer.  If I only had to think of myself, I would accept it immediately.  As it is…'  He tilted his head toward Luke.

'You think we wouldn't care for your son as well?' Bo-Katan scoffed.  'He's a foundling.  No foundling ever goes neglected on Mandalore.'  A smirk twisted her mouth.  'This is the way.'

'It isn't that.'  Obi-wan tucked the edge of the blanket around Luke's shoulders.  'He may not be my biological son, but we do share a similar trait.'

'Jetii?' Korkie asked.

Obi-wan nodded  'Yes.  He will be.'

Bo-Katan snorted louder.  'You should let it die.  What has it done but brought anyone a lifetime of pain?'

'Auntie!' Korkie hissed.

'Satine and I…'  Obi-wan pinched the bridge of his nose.  'We…'  He inhaled, and found a spot on the ceiling on which to focus until his emotions were once more under his control.  'We understood the consequences of our choices.'  He met Bo-Katan's disconcertingly direct gaze.  'Even until the very end.'  He  brushed a lock of Luke’s hair away from his forehead.  ‘Just as I’m fully aware of the consequences of this life. I won’t put anyone else in danger.’

The only SN 'From The Vault' track so far I do not find underwhelming -- though my 2000s self can appreciate Fall-Out Boy making a duet out of "Electric Touch" -- but definitely a song for Bo-Katan. I obviously imagine this as being addressed to Din. At least at the beginning of Season 3 though I can never keep angst out of my ships for long. (Listen...Bo had sad face in the Season 3 finale, I am not yet satisfied for the both of them⌛⏳.) And a strong candidate for next dinbo edit if any talent in the community can get on it.🏰🏚

The truth is that I wanted to make this edit because I fell in love with the drawing of Rainy that he made in these photos, a beautiful drawing by the way.

I did the editing with little time and freehand, sorry if they are not the best results.

When I saw Pedro and Kate's costume, I was reminded of Howl and Sophie, from the Ghibli movie "Howl´s movile Castle."

How I love that movie and I felt a very particular parallel in them.

And in particular I am left with two very beautiful and representative scenes of what Din in The Mandalorian season 3 changes in him and for the better.

The new and strange family, which for both Din and Howl means a new nucleus where they can be, be and develop as better people and human beings.

Howl with Sophie, with Mark, with Calcifer and Turnip Head and the Witch and the Royal Dog.

As well as Din with Bo katan, Grogu, Greef, Peli and everyone who has joined this new family.

And the second scene in this movie where Howl knows he has to protect his new family and that special girl who is saving him; that's why he tells Sophie when she tries to convince him to flee the war.

"No, I don't have to run anymore, now I have someone to protect"

It was definitely like listening to Din's oath to Bo Katan.

"These are the reasons why I follow you. Your song is not yet written, I will serve you until it is."

Ignoring or saying that this is not a pure and loyal demonstration of the protagonists' feelings is lying and denying the reality that this happened.

Both Din and Howl are fleeing conflict, a cruel life, and just surviving. Trying not to lose that humanity that is getting out of hand with so much war and desolation.

Bo katan like Sophie, are in an internal conflict by not believing in themselves and their own abilities, always trying to satisfy the needs of others than their own needs. Both being strong in their own areas.

weirdest tone shifts and terrible puns and awkward blocking and stiff dialogue and so much goddamn exposition i was so confused and then it ended with "directed by rick famuyiwa" Ahhhhhhh ok. Well.

ALONE. Bo X Din.

What makes the pledge scene between Bo and Din so powerful is that everyone has abandoned Bo.. She sits on a throne with nobody but a droid servant at her side leaving her ALONE. Din enters the castle and says he is here to aid her on her journey. She replies there is no journey.

When she takes her helmet off to eat she looks around and has that familiar feeling of being completely and utterly ALONE..

We see when she begins to look for volunteers to aid her nobody does, she doubts herself and again fears being left ALONE… until Din stands and says he will go with her

Everyone followed her originally because she had the saber.. an object. Not HER. When she talks with Din on the boat. She doesn’t think she can keep everyone together..

She says the saber is the only thing keeping them following HER. Sadness and worry hit her as she again feels that old familiar feeling that she could be left all ALONE.

Until Din… Din pledges himself to HER. He states that what means more to him then anything is Honor, Loyalty and Character. “These are the reasons I serve you Lady Kryze..” The final look she gives as she watches Din walk away after making his pledge is her own realization that she is no longer ALONE.

Finally… Bo-Katan Kryze is not ALONE.
