all this panic over level5’s posting guidelines for layton is reminiscent of the youtube COPPA hysteria. guys these guidelines havent been posted outside of japan and theres been no indication it even applies outside of japan. and even then the guidelines are literally just “hey please dont freeboot our fucking cutscenes and please dont rawdog spoilers with no warning considering we have a main series release coming up”
this isnt a dig at anyone, especially not the people who keep us in the loop about whats going on or the people wanting to archive their stuff. you should archive everything forever and if this was your sign to do so then great
but the massive overreaction and spreading panic thats making people think they need to take their content down, as if level5 has the time or money to go on an evil disney copyright crusade over your descole be my bad boy AMV that they are never going to even see is silly

YOU CAN'T BE FUCKING SERIOUS RN

#two... two new titles. get your shit together level 5 please i can't survive one more delay#one is probably the ykw style game that's supposed to be... a successor? either way i'd prefer ykw 4 to be localized but that's unlikely#what the fuck are they gonna reveal. USHIRO? man#please let it be some sort of spin off or smaller project because otherwise we'll see decapolice in 2027 at best#hino ruined my life and keeps going.......#level-5

I had such a rough day at work, but then I remembered that I got early access for the new Fantasy Life game and was able to play it tonight.
I haven’t played Fantasy Life (3DS) since I was thirteen. I am now 23 and playing its sequel, at least a decade in the making.
Life is good.

chat, is this real? (god i wish it wasn't.)
so uh. according to this thread its very possible that Level-5 is using ai art. thats fucking fantastic. thanks guys. definitely not a spit in the face to your fans who've loved you for years for your unique art direction. no. not at all :) /VERY SAR

it doesn't matter if they're "just using it for concept art" or whatever. they're still using it and its fucking gross. As a Yo-Kai Watch fan of almost 10 years now, I am truly disgusted. I hope they recall this decision and go back to using exclusively real artists, or they'll lose a lot of fans (including myself, which would break my heart. I love Level-5 games to death.)
I'm still most likely going to buy Inazuma Eleven: Victory Road and Decapolice when they come out, because most likely if the use of AI in scriptwriting/sidequests is real those will be rewritten in the English localization by actual people. Still doesn't change the concept art thing but i've been hyped for these games for too long to let that ruin it. If it goes any further than that tho, i'm probably going to tap out. Which sucks so much.
This is lazy at best and downright harmful to real artists at worst.
also why would you want it to look more like the anime bro the yo-kai watch anime was ass. thats just me tho askjfhakjhfkjafk
#princeposting#level-5#yokai watch#decapolice#inazuma eleven#fuck ai art#ai art#fuck ai#if you support ai art don't interact dude. i don't want to hear you#take your whining about “gatekeeping” elsewhere. L. Ratio even. get gatekept lmao#this is genuinely so dissapointing. i'm an artist and i've loved Level-5's works since i was like. 8#specifically because their art direction was so distinct and wacky and cool#so to see them do this is rlly dissapointing.#ik it wont do anything to a multi million dollar video game company to tell them to “do better” but still#do better guys wtf is this#this explains why i thought some of the Decapolice concept art looked strange. like there was something about the lineart that didn't look#right. now i know lmao

An Uncanny Resemblance
I was watching an episode of Dinosaur King when I saw this one poster in the background.

Could it really be?!

They look similar. But their names are different and Illinous Joe is just some guy with a shark head, while Indianna Jaws is an actual shark with human features. It's pretty clear which party had more originality.
Also, don't you find it weird that 4Kids left in English text in one of their dubs? Then again, the same thing happened with every Pokémon episode up to the point that episode of Dinosaur King aired. This inconsistency in localization leads me to believe that this aspect of 4Kids was just something people on the internet took WAY too much out of proportion for popularity points.
