i understand the point of bilingual books, but i have zero interest in using them for my own language learning at this point. adults learn way more like kids than anyone wants to admit, and if you have enough understanding of how the language works you'll be better off figuring things out from context, pictures, and sporadic google searches than just having the text... explained in the language you already know.
#once you're at a Reading to Learn level in your target language#just muscling through it will benefit you#and by Reading to Learn i mean like second to third grade level texts#where you're still figuring it out as you go along but you have enough basis where the process isn't just painful

I actually love learning history, but we barely learn any of it in school. I want to learn EVERYTHING! ESPECIALLY the crazy stuff! Teach me the things that don't make sense! Teach me the details about how people loved, what they did! What shinanigins did they get up to? Make me reenact something ridiculous and crazy!
Gods, I love history!
Got these pictures from my for you page on Tik Tok
These pictures are NOT mine.
#tik tok#history#love history#this isn't history related but way do we have to take 4 whole years of English???#like wtf#i swear to god we basically do the same thing every year#my mom said when she was in highschool they had to take Latin#i wanna be forced to learn a language#latin sounds kinda cool#my school doesn't even teach that#i want asl to be a language class#i bet SO many people would benefit in the future from learning it.#mention of witches#witches#mention of witches burning/witch trails#history is actually pretty fucking cool ngl#I kinda hated learning history in school#it was just so fucking boring#i learned all of the past presidents in second grade#why do i need to do that again in highschool?#i can't believe we didn't watch Hamilton in any of my history classes#HISTORY#make history more fun to learn#why is it like school was designed to punish us

i dont understand how u can fuck up misgendering me when my name is literatlly noah. like. how. do i need to change it back to adam?
idk how it can make it more obvious. (i live and exist as stealth trans. sort of? I don’t really talk bout being trans, but I’m open bout it when it comes up. Or i trust u. I can read vibes)
#snazum talks#like idk how u keep messin this up.#is it my stature? im just short. i’m a short guy. theres cis dudes my height.#ah wait i did use that one childhood photo of me for a presentation. so ig there?#like i said im not loud and proud but i don’t exactly stealth either#but like. idk i just chill and exist as a dude.#now im gettin paranoid that the others misgender me behind my back but like#i aint gonna start thinkin like that till i get proof#sorry im just like. mind boggled lmao. I wish I had the courage to correct people but like#I don’t have the energy or the backbone to so I just shrug. whatever#i’ll just think of you as stupid. and then also proceed to help u with ur project anyways lmao#or not even just stupid. like. i’ll give yah the benefit of the doubt and assume its a language thing? but also like.#i give people that benefit but then you’ll gender everyone else correctly so. idk. seems sort of targeted#even if it’s subconcious. which sucks. i’m sorry that you have those subconcious biases#cause I get it. me too. it takes a bit to learn and retrain.#but its a little annoying since i’ve just been living as a dude for years. like grahh. idk.#im not gonna drop my somewhat effeminate actions or whatever the fuck. i like to sound not like a dick online thanks#or like idk. i want to not seem threatening and hard to approach#not that i’m doing a great job at that but yeah idk sorry i’m exaughsted

Cool, a native blogger! I want to connect to that part of me, got some native in myself, so hi! 👋
What tribe are you from ? Are you a citizen?
#what do you know of them? what of the language do you know?#what do you know about your ancestors connected to them? etc etc etc#how do you know your ancestors were native? have you done any genealogy?#are you connected to the living community at all?#you need to be able to answer all of these questions if you wanna 'connect to that part of yourself'#saying you 'have some native in you' says like. nothing. who are your people who's your family how do you connect to them.#native isnt something you 'have some of' it's something you Are and it means active connection to living community#so if youre interested in connecting you gotta find the answers to these questions.#not just follow random ndns on tumblr and call it a day hahah it takes work to reconnect.#and ofc theres the sayings of#'its not about who you claim its about who claims you' do your people claim you?#our communities have the right to self determination. if they say you arent part of that community then you arent.#and 'give more than you take' give back to your people more than you take from them#learn the language learn the traditions and the skills etc etc instead of just wanting clout or 'benefits'#i didnt intend on going on this rant in the tags. whoops lmao#asks#reconnecting
