Back from a small break to travel to Unicon 2024.
I TOTALLY didn't overspend, this being my first-ever convention and such, but it was fun for sure! I'll be dropping a few @ from the people I bought from and showing off my haul when I have the proper lighting and good pictures of the product, don't wanna undersell them with my bad photography skills.
This little doddle was inspired by Keycharms, I really wanna make some of my characters into them but as I am, insecure✨ who knows.

Marite Desaine’s Painting-Like Ballpoint Pen Drawings
The humble ballpoint pen is often overlooked in the art world, but Marite Desaine is showing the world just how powerful it can be. The Latvian artist first rose to fame in 2014 when her incredible ballpoint pen drawings of landscapes started to be featured by prestigious art websites and blogs, and it was clear from the beginning that her style was something special.

This one is basically a redraw of a book illustration
A short background story under the cut👇
So there is a childrens book called Moro the king of dogs (I don't think it was ever translated to english though... the original is latvian), it's about a dog who dreamed of being an Al-Andalus prince who was turned into a dog by the witch. Also his name is Moro which literally means a moor. But the book illustrations portray him like a european prince, in european clothing etc so I decided to redisign him somehow.
Here's the original illustration! I like it, it's nice and cute, but for me it just doesn't relate to the text at all x)
