I FOUND THE PERFECT SONG FOR A LUCY FROSTBLADE PLAYLIST
Tumblr media
youtube
It's Winter Wonderland by Animal Collective, a really weird and disorientingly frantic song that I can't get out of my head JUST LOOK AT THESE LYRICS:
Mold of the fawn I have been frozen there for days With headlights reflecting in my face I must be cold on your lawn But inside I'm okay I can live without your time Where snowmen never melt Instead, they all went shy And if you don't believe in fantasy Then don't believe in fantasy Do you not believe in fantasy because it gets you down? If you don't believe it's raining I won't tell you that it's raining Do you not believe it's raining just because it gets you down? And if you don't believe in happiness Then don't believe in happiness If you don't believe in happiness then man, you must be down If you don't believe you're dying I won't tell you that you're dying But do you not believe you're dying just because it gets you down Our homes are all white And we go dancing on the lake And sleds will cary us tonight And snowflakes will blow us on our way Drifts rise to the sky Rainbow hats fly down to them And tears are frozen diamonds So we smile when we're crying
Like I'm picturing this with Lucy in the days leading up to her death, her interaction with the unnamed god, and whatever happened to have her file those papers. In my mind the people who "don't believe in fantasy/that it's raining" are her party members, maybe her goddess but the person who doesn't "believe in happiness" or that they're dying, is ultimately Lucy.
And then we get to her death, where she is (in my theories) trapped in this kind of half state of not being able to fully be at rest (because she's with the god that is unnamed and therefore is not truly in an afterlife), trying to reach out, trying to talk to her friends, trying to do anything...
but she can't.
(interact if you want me to drop my whole Lucy playlist, or any other playlist for any other NPC for that matter... I am always among the mixtapes)

Those Worth Fighting For Part seven
Part one          Part two
Part three        Part four
Part five           Part six
Part Seven (You’re here)       Part eight
Taglist:
@ladybug-182 @fruit-snacc-ace @miraculous-simmer7 @lavenderjunes
@use-flamethrower @fan-written @all-mights-asscheeks @birdie-posts
Sorry if the tags aren’t working, I tried and I’m not sure where I went wrong with it?
If I have time the next part will come out with some art! Don’t expect the art to be any good though lol
“So then, I go to the window and there is Adrien on Kagami’s front lawn with a big sign that says prom on it, and by the way neither of us knew he was going to be in France at all. It was a total surprise. So I’m so shocked my mind completely blanks out and I shout down to him that yes, I’ll go to prom with him. He yells back ‘tall Kagami’ and I turn around and just ‘your boyfriend just asked to go to prom with me.’ Without skipping a beat she leans out of the window and tells him he’s too late, she already asked me.” Marinette laughed, wiping a stray tear from her eye that began to form from how hard she was trying to not burst into a fit of giggles until the story ended. “In the end the three of us went to prom together.”
The four around the table shook their heads. “Mari, dude, if you can’t get through that story without laughing how are you supposed to do your toast?”
“I’ll just practice it a lot until it’s no longer funny to me, simple. I’m not even going to worry about it anymore.” The blue haired girl shrugged. When she was younger she would have worried about that, but she was long since past that. At least, she hoped she was. She had done enough interviews with Alya in her teen years, and then enough speeches as Ladybug to fill her with a confidence she lacked as a teen. She was nervous, but instead of the all consuming nervousness that would make her fumble and trip over her words it was now an excited nervousness. She was excited about it.
“I think you’ll do fine,” Felix winked at her, his face never changing from the impartial look he had on since he came into the restaurant.
They all had made their way back to the same place after the amok, even if Felix was late once again. The blond had made his excuses of needing to take care of some errands that he had forgotten, but it hadn’t mattered much to any of them. Marinette had saved a seat next to her for him and he was more than happy to take it.
“Why not talk about the moment you realized those two were perfect for each other?” Nathaniel asked, playing with the straw in his drink. “I know you have a million stories about that.”
“Something like Adrien saving Kagami from a bully, or a dance of just the two of them where they lock eyes and suddenly the whole room disappears?” Marc hummed, their author brain going into overdrive at the thought of romance. “Maybe you saw him protect her against an akuma or amok?”
Marinette thought for a moment. What was it that made her realize that they belonged together? After all those years fawning over Adrien, it was Kagami’s love for him that made her step down, but what was the exact moment?
“It was at Chloe’s fifteenth birthday party.” Marinette started, recalling the time before Hawkmoth had lost and her world began to fall apart and fix itself simultaneously. “Adrien’s dad thought it would be a good idea for Kagami to go with him and keep an eye on his son, and they started the evening miserable because the paparazzi outside the hotel told them that they always looked so perfect that it made sense that they would be perfect together. I only got to spend a few minutes with them before being pulled away by Chloe, but when I went to find them and bring them some hot chocolate they were on the roof ruffling each other's hair and talking about anime, and goofing around like I hadn’t seen either of them do before.”
“They saw that the other understood their background and chose to help break out of that image with each other and just be kids.” Felix’s words surprised her, but he understood exactly what had happened.
“They were so embarrassed when they saw me that I challenged them both to hot chocolate drinking contests to ease the awkwardness. They didn’t even realize I didn’t have one for myself before chugging theirs and burning their mouths at the same time.” Her two messy friends meant the world to her, and she knew no one would understand them like they understood each other. Both of them had strict parents that would only let them escape and be kids when they were with the other, and they took those opportunities and made every moment count. They were what each other needed, and then when they got their freedoms they were still the ones they chose. “I think that’s also when they stopped acting perfect in front of me. Adrien really started to bug me to watch anime so he could talk about it with someone other than his girlfriend, and Kagami soon demanded to be my dress up doll because she never got to do that growing up. They became my best friends and honestly, I think I’m better for it too.”
“How romantic.” Marc swooned, leaning against Nathaniel who caught his significant other with a laugh. “Childhood friends, to rivals, to lovers. 50K slowburn.”
“Once there was an akuma trying to hurt Adrien and Kagami picked up the nearest weapon she could find and just went at ‘em and I have never seen Adrien’s face light up like that. The boy just wants to be loved and protected.” Nino joined in. “Alya and I were shocked, we both had our money on Adrien ending up with someone else, but we’re both happy about it. Speaking of which, I gotta update her on what’s going on here. She’ll flip.”
Felix shifted in his seat, catching Marinette’s eye as Nathaniel and Marc continued talking about Kagami and Adrien’s relationship. He wasn’t there for all those moments, he wasn’t a long term friend of everyone so he didn’t know Alya or Chloe and she wouldn’t doubt it if he had felt out of place in the conversation.
“Pst,” she scooted herself over, getting closer to him and leaning over to whisper at him. “You look nice today.”
Felix blinked in surprise. Within seconds his face was growing warm and he used his hand to cover the lower half of his face as inconspicuously as possible. “Aren’t I the one who’s supposed to say that, Miss. Dupain-Cheng?”
“I’m afraid I beat you to it, Mr. Graham De Vanily.” She whispered back. “But it’s okay, you might get me next time.”
How long had it been since she was able to flirt with someone without losing herself in the what-if’s and teenaged anxiety that had plagued her? How had one battle fighting side by side with Ryuko, Alley Cat, and the others given her so much confidence that she hadn’t had even during the fight itself? Was it that damned cat’s words? He had unknowingly complimented her to her face and she was still beaming with pride over being called brilliant. Being complimented on her looks was nice, but the way he had complimented her on her mind was something else. She supposed that was what did it, after all. Being told that she was great because of who she was and not because of how she looked filled her with a pride she didn’t even want to describe lest it dampened the feeling inside her chest.
“Well then, until next time, you look wonderful. You’re outfit choice is on point, as always.” His comment hit straight to her heart. There it was again. A comment on something she chose being good. “And although you are trying to start a fire with my face, I am enjoying this time with you away from colour pallets and order forms. I like seeing this other side of you, Marinette.”
“I’d like to say the same thing, but it has come to my attention that you seem to only wear suits, Felix. This is the same side of you I always see.” She couldn’t help her grin. There was a strange formal banter between them that she found exhilarating. In it’s own way it made her feel like part of the aristocratic world that he and Adrian and Kagami belonged to, without having to deal with the fakeness that the latter two often complained about. “Dare I say, I don’t believe you own anything that isn’t a suit.”
“I’d hate to inform you of this, but you’re incorrect on that front.” Felix moved the hand that was covering his face to let himself rest his chin upon it. “I do, and I’d prefer it if you don’t go to the press with this, own a few sets of pajamas.”
“And are they silk and made to look like a suit?” She asked, now leaning against him to softly poke at his arm. “I bet you had them custom made so that you would never appear unprofessional.”
“Well, well, aren’t you curious to see my pajamas? Shame you won’t get to see them until our fourth date.” Felix leaned his head against hers, and her heart began to race.
“So, are you two actually a thing?” Nino’s voice broke them out of their moment. Marinette and Felix realized how it must have looked to the others and immediately sat straight in their seats.
Nathaniel elbowed Nino in the ribs. “Dude!”
“What? I’m just trying to clear things up for my daily Alya report.” Nino tried to defend himself from the onslaught of hands trying to hit him from Marc and Nathaniel. “It gets complicated sometimes and you know my girl won’t let anything rest until she has all the info!”
“If Miss. Dupain-Cheng would like to, as you put it, actually be a thing, then I would be honoured to.” He said it so simply that Marinette wasn’t sure why she had hesitated before. He did like her.
“Only if you wear your pajamas to our next late night planning session.” Marinette wasn’t willing to let the pajamas slide. “I have to see you out of a suit before we get all lovey dovey. It’s a rule.”
“Did you make that rule just for me?”
“Of course.”
“Well, don’t I feel special.” Felix thought to himself, making a bit of a show of it as he tossed his head side to hide. His braid that previously rested on his shoulder now swinging back and forth behind him, looking like a cat's tail as it got ready to play. “I think I have room to negotiate here, so if I may I am going to put the added condition that you must also wear your pajamas.”
“I don’t think this is supposed to be a business transaction, dude,” Nino tried, but Marinette held her hand up. She could negotiate.
“I’ll accept those terms on the condition that you buy coffee, and we get to watch a movie together with some popcorn.” Marinette raised her brow, daring Felix to try to get a better deal out of her.
“If I am purchasing coffee, popcorn, and a movie, then I will push for some baked goods from your parents bakery.” Felix held out his hand. “Well?”
“You drive a hard bargain, Mr. Graham De Vanily, but I accept your terms.” Marinette took his hand and shook it. That was the most fun she had ever had while figuring out plans for a date, and she knew she’d have more fun watching the movie with Felix than she just did. “A movie date in our pajamas with snacks it is.”
“I’ll pick you up friday night at eight?”
“I can’t wait to see your suit pajamas.”
“I bet you have frills on yours.”
“And you don’t?”

100 OC Question Meme!
created by marchenvillain <3
Your Wings edition: Shiemi Shuzenji!
1. What’s a unique skill they have? Is their any reason why they can do it? Shiemi can harness the power of the sun in order to heal wounds. Her Quirk is a mixture of her mother’s (who can bend light) and grandmother’s (who can heal wounds).
2. What are their favourite possessions? Why? (sentimentality, history, price, etc) The necklace that Hawks gave her is very important to her. She sees it like a symbol of their love.
3. Do they get jealous easily? If so, what usually causes it? She gets insecure, but she never acts on her jealousy. Often times, if women fawn over Hawks, she gets all up in her feels.
4. Are they a good gift-giver? What do they tend to give as gifts? She’s more of a practical gift giver. She pays attention to what someone really needs and she’ll get it for them.
5. What’s their reputation like? Does this reputation contrast what they’re really like? People (especially when she worked in the hospital) hail her as a good doctor but one with little to no social skills. She’s quiet, so a lot of people think she’s mean. Others, like her old boss, like her polite and respectable nature.
6. Do they prefer to have a big social circle, or a few close friends? Definitely a few close friends. She’s content with Aizawa, Kayama, and Mic.
7. What’s their “type”? What romantically attracts them to another person? Men who are confident! If one looks at her track record, her old boyfriends in high school were all jocks who loved the limelight. Hawks is cocky, but a lot of that haughtiness is a facade. She loves that he knows how to tone it down and come back to Earth.
8. What does their dream house look like? She’s a simple woman: a modern white home with a huge lawn for a garden. She’s always wanted to plant sunflowers. I’m a huge horror fan, so for some reason, I’m envisioning the villa from The Human Centipede… Just the outside! eheh... is that weird?
9. If they could change one part of their appearance, what would it be? Shiemi is actually very lithe; her mother says she’s got no meat on her bones. She would love to bulk up! Also, her cup size is a B. She would change that, too, if she could.
10. What’s a simple thing that brings them joy? Well, Shiemi’s love language is acts of service. It really warms her heart when people help do things with or for her!
11. What is their dream pet? A cat! A fluffy white one. Maybe Aizawa had some influence on her? ❤️
12. What’s their position in their friend group? (leader, mom friend, chaos goblin, etc) The voice of reason. She likes to have practical fun! She’s not as rigid as Aizawa, but nowhere near as wild as Mic.
13. How forgiving are they? What do they consider unforgivable? Shiemi is definitely forgiving, so much so that it is sometimes her downfall. However, she believes there is no excuse for villainy.
14. Who do they go to in a crisis/emergency? Any particular reason why they choose that person? Hmmm, it’s funny because most people go to her in an emergency since she’s got that nifty healing Quirk haha! Shiemi has plenty of people to depend on like Midnight or Recovery Girl, but Hawks is the one she always turns to when she needs saving.
15. How good are they at conversation? Are they a small talk master, bad at initiating, etc? The only person she likes to make small talk with is Hawks, really. She’s not much a talker, and prefers to let others do the talking. This is why she and Aizawa click so well because they both can appreciate silence.
16. What food do they absolutely hate? She actually doesn’t care for greasy foods. Pizza, for example, upsets her tummy.
17. Do they show a lot of affection, or are they pretty reserved? She’s not into PDA, but she loves to be held and kissed. When she’s sad, she almost always needs a hug. ❤️
18. If you had to represent them with a flower, colour, and animal, what would you choose? I feel like she’s more of a white lily, which I hear symbolizes humility and devotion. Her color would be blush pink, for her more timid nature and her affinity for that color. As for an animal, I think she’d be a snowshoe hare!
19. What’s their unusual quirk? (Quirk with a lowercase q, haha) Shiemi has always had very strong intrusive thoughts, and I’ve made this obvious from the first chapter. I based this on my own struggle with intrusive thoughts, so Shiemi and I can relate on the issue of fighting our inner voices to be better people.
20. Are they easy to wake up in the morning, or grouchy and sleepy? She’s an early bird! Very easy to wake up in the morning.
21. What’s their ideal date like? She loves night walks on the beach followed a busy night of makin’ love ;)
22. What’s their silliest or most unusual fear/phobia? Probably spiders. She’s not the type to scream when she sees one, but if it’s big and hairy, she’ll leave the room.
23. Is their pain tolerance high or low? Pretty low, all things considering. She knows how to fight, she just doesn’t like to because she can’t really handle her own.
24. Are they a fussy eater? Nope! She’ll try just about anything. She understands the importance of eating healthy, so she makes sure to eat her veggies every day. (Unlike me…)
25. What are their dreams like? As the writer, I’ve always made her dreams symbolic. They often reflect her true feelings or the things on her mind.
26. Are they technologically savvy? Yes! Working in the hospital, she’s a quick learner, and working in the hospital, she’s had to learn how to use all the equipment.
27. Are they forgetful? What do they tend to forget? (plans, phone, keys, etc) No, she tries to be very organized. The most that she forgets would be if she’s got a lot of work to do, she might forget one assignment.
28. Describe their morning routine. Open the curtains first (she needs sunlight), drink black coffee, watch the news, take a shower. Suuuper adult of her, I know. She’s a creature of habit!
29. Are they a good cook? If they are, what do they like to make? She’s an okay cook. Certainly not as good as Hawks! She can make basic food, but a lot of it lacks flavor -- something Hawks has had to teach her.
30. Do they consider themselves a “hero” or “villain”? Hero! Definitely. She’ll heal anyone in need, but she works for the heroes, on the side of good.
31. What holiday do they like the most? (Christmas, Easter, Valentine’s Day, etc) Christmas. It’s the one time of year she gets to spend with her whole family. Even though tensions are high, she still loves her family more than anything.
32. What are they like at parties? Party animal, or awkwardly sitting in the corner drinking punch and reading? She’s the wallflower. She’d rather grab a bite to eat and sit back, people-watching.
33. Are they adventurous, or do they prefer to stay in their safe zone? She prefers to live life on the safe side. Though life with Hawks definitely makes things exciting!
34. What’s their favourite drink? (Coffee, tea, juice, hot chocolate, soda, etc) She loves coffee; preferably black coffee. Her go-to drink at Starbucks is a venti black cold brew or a cappuccino.
35. Are they good with children? Yes! Her serene nature tends to calm kids down. She especially used to love healing kids at the hospital.
36. Do they trust easily? What would you have to do to earn their trust? She’s normally very wary of people. She automatically has her guard up when approached by someone new, but honestly it doesn’t take much for her to let down her guard. For example, she was cautious of Twice when she met him, but once she saw that he and Mr. Compress needed help, she immediately dropped everything to help. Blame her big heart, I guess!
37. Are they a hopeless romantic, or is that stuff just not for them? God, YES!! When she first met Hawks, she tried to act all tough, but she’s such a SAP! In her relationships, she devotes everything to her significant other.
38. Do they get lost easily, or are they good with directions? Nah, she’s great with directions. She tries to have a good understanding of her surroundings.
39. Are they superstitious? She doesn’t believe in superstitions; she’s more of a woman of science.
40. Do they like physical activity, or staying inside? She enjoys a bit of both. She especially likes to go for walks, but doesn’t mind spending the whole day inside reading a book.
41. What would they dress up as for Halloween? A zombie nurse -- and I mean that in the laziest way possible. She would put on her uniform and paint her face and call it a day haha
42. Do they like fast food, or fancy restaurants? Fancy restaurants, for sure. She’s a bit of a snob. She’ll eat fast food if she’s on the go, but she grew up in the lap of luxury, and really enjoys the finer things in life.
43. Are they a chaotic bastard, pure angel baby, or tired mom friend? Pure angel baby. SHIEMI MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS.
44. Do they have a good attention span? Yes, especially when it comes to her friends. She’ll sit there and listen to someone talk for hours.
45. Are they always late, on time, or early? Shiemi thinks that if you’re not 15 minutes early, then you’re late.
46. Do they cry, gasp, laugh, etc, while reading a book, or do they remain relatively stone-faced? Stone-faced. She might furrow her brow if she’s into it, but she’s more internal with her reactions.
47. Do they keep a diary? She stopped carrying a diary when she was a teenager and her parents read through it without her permission.
48. How dramatic are they? She’s not haha She cries easily, but that’s just because she feels very deeply.
49. Do they put a lot of effort into their appearance, or do they just make themselves presentable and go? She’s comfortable with her looks, so she mostly curls her bangs and thinks it good to go.
50. Why would they be a good partner for a road trip? She would be president of the backseat! Delivering snacks, giving directions, listening to you talk and talk for hours!
51. Why would they be a BAD partner for a road trip? She’s not much for small talk. If it gets quiet, she’ll let it happen and whip out a book.
52. What topic should nobody bring up around them, lest the other person be subject to a massive ramble/rant? Anything bashing on heroes, or criticizing hero society. She’s so deep in it that she’s blinded to its flaws. She’ll defend Heroes till the day she dies.
53. Are they clumsy? No, she’s too cautious!
54. Are they a law breaker, or stickler for rules? Stickler for the rules. Not as bad as Iida hahaha but she doesn’t do anything she’s not supposed to. Blame her strict upbringing!
55. Choose a vine you think perfectly encapsulates their character. I LOVE THIS QUESTION! I feel like she’s: “Road work ahead? Uh, yeah, I sure hope it does >:( ” or “Is there anything better than pussy? Yes, a really good book.” OOH, OR “How do you know what’s good for me? THAT’S MY OPINION!!”
56. Do they like to share? Yes, my girl is very giving  ❤️
57. What’s the most chaotic thing they’ve done? Have sex with a bird man she just healed the night before :U Shiemi has a high sex drive
58. Which friend do they immediately become a zero-braincelled idiot around? She gets all smitten around Hawks tbh She can compose herself around everyone except for him. Then she’s just a puddle of GOO
59. Do they love or hate surprises? She does not like surprises! They make her uncomfortable and awkward.
60. What sappy thing will they cry at? (romance movies, cute cat videos, etc) Would they deny crying about it later on? She’ll cry during sad movies, but she’s stopped being ashamed of being a crybaby
61. What’s their favourite and least favourite subject in school? Health and science are her best subjects, but her favorite was literature! Her least favorite was probably physical education just because it took her away from the books!
62. Do they take a lot of photos? If so, what of? She prefers professional photos; her camera roll is practically empty!
63. Do they wear makeup? Blush, mascara, foundation, but she only ever wears makeup for special occasions.
64. Describe what their social media would be like. Instagram: “NO PHOTOS” but plenty of tagged photos from Mic and Midnight. Facebook: articles on social issues or new medical breakthroughs.
65. Do they give people a lot of nicknames? No, she doesn’t, actually!
66. What nicknames do others call them by? She thinks it’s sweet when people give nicknames to her -- e.g. “Doc,” “songbird,” or “sunshine.” Side note: I was really into Yagami Yato when I first started writing, so of course Hawks calls her “Baby bird.” And now I really regret not being more original because goddamn... I’m not gonna go back and change it because Yagami doesn’t own the nickname, but just know that I am upset
67. What’s an outrageous story about them nobody believes? Uhh, that’s a great question. I can’t think of anything, to be honest.
68. Are they easy to fluster? What would you have to do to truly fluster them? Yes! Despite being so cool, calm, and collected, it’s easy to make her blush. Hawks is a pro at getting her all worked up!
69. What’s their dream vacation like? She dreams of traveling, preferably somewhere along the Caribbean islands where she can bask in the sun and discover new plants and creatures.
70. Are they a good liar? She is a notoriously bad liar, mostly because it eats her away inside. She can make a lie work if she commits to it enough, but she’ll always come out with it eventually.
71. What do they want to do in the future? She wants a family. She’s always wanted to be a working woman and come home after a long day to her family. She wishes that a certain someone would be a stay-at-home dad...
72. How do they feel about love? Again, she’s a hopeless romantic. She believes in having strong bonds with both family and friends, but she does dedicate most of her energy into her romantic relationship.
73. Are they more book smarts, or street smarts? oh my god, BOOK SMARTS. She wouldn’t last a day on her own out there, but man she could recite a whole scene from Shakespeare if you asked her to.
74. What’s their guilty pleasure? Sex. She doesn’t come off as promiscuous, but she would get some every day if she could.
75. Is there anyone they consider their rival? No, in fact Shiemi tends to keep to herself. She’s respectful and supportive of everyone. She does  have enemies, of course, like Dabi or Mr. Compress.
76. Do they have any notable physical features? Her eyes are described as gray, but they’re more purplish-gray.
77. What’s their music taste like? Classical music takes up most of the space on her phone; Joe Hisaishi is a composer that she admires a lot.
78. What’s something they’re really bad at? Keeping her opinions to herself. She’s brutally honest, to a fault.
79. Do they have a good sleep schedule? Yesss, her whole life runs on a schedule!
80. What’s their aesthetic sense like? Oh, I’m not sure how to answer this?
81. What’s something they’re really proud of? Her degrees and awards make her feel accomplished. She has a hard time seeing her worth, but the diplomas on her wall are proof, to her, of what she can do.
82. How would they spend a free day? In bed, reading a book, snuggled up beside Hawks  ❤️
83. What are they like as an s/o? Lowkey, kind of clingy. She loves attention and wants to spend all her time with her significant other, doting on them, making them feel good.
84. What’s one thing they like that they don’t want anyone to know about? Her sex drive (> w >);;
85. Do they have a sweet tooth? She doesn’t; she’s more of a savory or salty person. I actually really like this dichotomy between Hawks and Shiemi, for some reason? The fact that she takes her coffee black and he takes his sweet is kind of nice.
86. How would you describe their fashion sense? I once had a beautiful professor at university who only wore maxi skirts and nice blouses. Her fashion sense inspired my vision of Shiemi a lot. If she’s not wearing her hero uniform, you can find her in a pink maxi skirt and a white blouse.
87. Do they like spicy food? She can definitely handle her spice, but she wouldn’t choose it!
88. Are they lucky? Do they believe in luck? By all means, she has the worst luck! Can’t say that she believes in it, though.
89. What would they get into a petty argument over? Shiemi stands her ground on her opinions, but she’s more or less an agreeable person. She doesn’t like to argue or cause tension, but she will if it means standing up for herself.
90. Are they a good artist? She can’t draw and she’s got that doctor handwriting lmao
91. Do they prefer hot or cold weather? Hot! Shiemi’s Quirk is most powerful if she’s in direct sunlight. When the sun is behind the clouds, it takes more energy and time for her to heal someone. Despite all that time in the sun, the poor woman can’t tan!
92. Can they play an instrument? Her parents made her play piano when she was a child, but she doesn’t dabble in it anymore.
93. What type of movies do they like to watch? Romance and mysteries! Her favorite movie is Titanic. She cries every time!
94. What does their room look like? Neat and organized. She’s got a lot of bookshelves in her room and a nice set up for her computer space.
95. How do they feel about bugs? Scared? Fascinated? She’s fascinated by bugs, but from a distance. She won’t touch ‘em!
96. What’s their sense of humour like? (Dad jokes, morbid humour, basic knock-knock jokes, stand up comedy, etc) She laughs really hard at stand up comedy. Since she’s a little more serious, she can appreciate how goofy Hawks is!
97. What do they keep in their bag? Cell phone, earbuds, portable charger, folding scissors for emergencies, Band-Aids, and if she’s not wearing it, she’ll fold up her lab coat and put it in there, too.
98. How competitive are they? She’s only competitive with herself. She doesn’t have to be the best, but she can’t stand being the worst. (I’m the same way.)
99. What would they wear to a formal event? Describe their outfit! She actually wore that beautiful red dress in chapter 10! If you Google “Elizabeth Banks Vanity Fair 2020” it’ll pop up.
100. If you, the creator, met them, would you two get along? Yes! I think that it’s impossible for any author/creator to make a character without at least adding some personal elements in them. Shiemi isn’t a self-insert, but she and I share a love of reading and we’re both overachievers. So I think she and I would make great friends!

unusual seventeen date ideas
zoolA/N: I’m posting these to fill in the space while I finish chapters for my fics. These ideas came from a ritalin-fueled afternoon so they are NOT intended to be serious. I definitely do not see any of the members engaging in these types of activities so, again, none of this is serious
Warnings: criminal activity, theft, “”borrowing””, mentions of drugs (no drug use), pyramid schemes, some softness and fluff, brief mentions of police (acab), mentions of trash, mentions of food, heights
Tumblr media
stealing bikes with seungcheol
seungcheol would pick you up precisely at 5am from outside your house, he would drive you through some quiet suburban neighborhoods (so romantique) and you'd pick off any bikes, trikes, and (if you're really lucky) electric scooters you find sitting outside the pristine homes of the neighborhood. Then you both would spend the whole day at the local park having fun and trading the bikes you stole to kids for their drones, ice cream cones, lunch money, whatever you want! the options are limitless when you're stealing bikes with seungcheol.
dumpster diving with jeonghan
your dates with jeonghan usually consisted of going out to fancy restaurants and getting something to eat, most definitely in multiple courses. "let's try something different," jeonghan suggested when you popped the nightly question of what do you want to eat. Much to your surprise and delight, jeonghan drove you in his 2014 white honda civic to applebee's, one of your favorite establishments. "are we getting potato skins?" "haha," he chuckled with a light behind his eyes, "something like that." he parked behind the building and opened the door for you, leading you to the dumpsters. before you could process what was going on. jeonghan had whipped the dumpster lid open and was scaling the side of the structure.  you spent the rest of the evening going from place to place, scoring new makeup palettes and other goodies. needless to say, it was amazing how many potato skins your local applebee's threw out everyday.
squatting in abandoned buildings with joshua
joshua was the sweetest, most thoughtful boyfriend you could ever ask for. he was constantly waiting on you hand and foot and taking you on lavish vacations. however, you were growing tired of trips to dubai and paris, and wanted to go on a more rugged, adventure vacation. you brought it up to him and he smiled at you, reading your mind. two weeks later, joshua surprised you with an uber ride to the nearest abandoned Kmart in your town, giddy with excitement, you found that he had already bolt-cut the padlock on the expansive automatic doors. You spent the night walking up and down the aisles before going up to the roof. unfortunately, the door to the roof locked automatically, trapping you on top of the kmart.  you and joshua spent the rest of your stay pointing out constellations and falling asleep under the stars before crafting a makeshift rope out of your own clothes to get down the building.
climbing things with jun
jun was a man of many hobbies and recreations, and climbing was one of them. every thursday and sunday night junhui would shake you out of bed and drag you to the nearest climbable structure. ladders, fences, even flights of stairs that led to god-knows-where. one sunday night, jun with excitement and anticipation coursing through his veins, he woke you up and ran out of bed so fast he barely had time to put on his shoes, not even noticing that he was wearing his old gucci slides on the wrong feet. "i have a good feeling about this one," he assured you while you ran through the night, finally approaching a cellular tower. without warning, jun began to climb and climb and climb, leaving you scrambling to get your foothold on the tower. once at the top, jun held your hand while you shivered against the wind. "y/n, look!" he shouted and pointed frantically at the ocean before you. "what is it?" "let's find out." wading through the ocean together, you struggled to keep up with his freestyle swimming towards your next target. it was an oil rig. oh junhui, you thought and smiled, what a character. you came back to the rig every thursday and sunday night, that is, before you were arrested by the coast guard, of course. classic junhui.
zoological warfare with soonyoung
it was no secret that soonyoung loved (and you mean loved) tigers. tiger stuffed animals filled your couches, bed, and dining room chairs; tiger paintings custom commissioned and worth thousands adorned your walls, and tiger videos from animal planet and other sources played night and day on your 100 inch television. Soonyoung cultivated his appreciation for the big cat by playing Zoo Tycoon on his laptop, so much that you practically had to rip the mouse out of his hand and threatened to burn the fifteen year old cd-rom. "soonyoungie," you cooed one afternoon, "i have a better idea than playing zoo tycoon..." immediately his eyes darkened, he knew exactly what you were talking about. You'd been to the zoo so many times before, but this time was different. While Soonyoung oohed and awwed at the tigers in their habitat, you reminded him of the real reason why you were at the zoo that late afternoon. Wire cutters in hand you were quick to disable the motion sensors and electric fences surrounding the enclosure. His deliciously built muscles strained while he pulled open the large fence, "you're free now," he whispered to himself. you both ran out of the habitat and back into the more populated areas of the zoo. words can't describe the elation soonyoung felt while he watched his favorite animals prance into the crowd, finally able to be their true selves.
recreating fahrenheit 451 with wonwoo
wonwoo loved his books more than anything else in his life, except, of course, you. he was halfway through his favorite book when the thought hit him like a ton of bricks. i have to recreate this with y/n, he thought to himself. He read for a couple more hours--not wanting to lose the plot of his favorite dystopian novel--before seeking you out. "y/n," he patted the top of your head lightly, "have you ever read fahrenheit 451?" "of course," you replied, smiling at your silly boyfriend, "we all had to read it in high school." not twenty minutes later were you and wonwoo elbows deep in the pile of books you had stacked in the middle of the alley by your apartment.
scalping concert tickets with jihoon
jihoon was a master producer, everyone knew it. The only thing he loved more than producing was making money, and you and your determined boyfriend were constantly jumping from one side-hustle to another. One of jihoon’s favorite side-hustles was printing fake concert tickets and selling them at the same venues he performed at. It was a two-in-one package, he used to tell you when you were hesitant about the legalities of such a practice. He’d sell tickets for hundreds, sometimes thousands, of dollars, a few hours before a performance and then he’d run inside, get ready, and perform himself! After a while, you stopped noticing the angry crowds that would gather outside the venues during shows and you let yourself enjoy the show from backstage surrounded by a heavy stack of cash. The best part was, you didn’t have to pay taxes on it!
Jihoon could do a number of jobs all at once, from starting etsy stores to mowing lawns for a couple extra dollars, but by far this was his favorite technique. With the money he made he could buy you the extravagances you deserved.
joining an MLM with seokmin
Seokmin was all about the newest, greatest thing. When Jihoon came by one day and told him all about his experience selling essential oils at house parties, seokmin was instantly hooked on the prospect. It took you a little bit of convincing, but after watching your boyfriend steal the show with suburban housewives at the parties he hosted, you knew you had to support him in every way you could. It took a second mortgage on your house and two paycheck advancements, but you were able to build up enough stock of essential oils from the headquarters to fill up your spare room. Party after party you and Seokmin gave out samples after samples, freebies galore, but you were never able to fully deplete the millions of bottles of clove oil and the blends seokmin swore would make you both rich. Even though you never broke even, you loved your new life with seokmin. You had to sell your house and live out of a mini-van you found abandoned on the highway, but it gave you and seokmin a great supply of #VanLife instagram posts.
grand theft auto with mingyu
Dating mingyu was always thrilling and there was always something exciting happening whenever you were together. Tonight was no different, as mingyu promised you that he was taking you out to get a new car. You were ecstatic, having only dated mingyu three and a half weeks, it was a little soon for such extravagant gifts like a whole car, but you weren’t one to complain and you certainly did not want to hurt his feelings.
The music blared loudly while you flew down the freeway in the new drop-top audi Mingyu got for you. You were a little worried when the car dealer insisted on coming with you for the test drive, but Mingyu’s charm and quick thinking, the dealer was nothing to worry about. Mingyu turned the radio up even higher when the sirens approached, adding to the thrill of the night.
“The lights make you look so pretty,” Mingyu fawned from the driver’s seat, “we should do this more often.”
You turned around to look behind you, the wind chapping your lips and whipping your hair, smiling.
you’ve always wanted a police escort.
borrowing from designer stores with minghao
minghao's sense of style was unparalleled, and being his significant other, you were privy to plenty of style and fashion advice. not that you minded, of course, because minghao would usually get so fed up with your disastrous outfits that he would let you wear his own clothes to save time and hassle. "y/n," minghao sighed after watching you put layer three jackets on top of each other, "we're going shopping. I'm going to teach you how to buy clothes." the places minghao shopped were unbelievable; while you usually bought your clothes off of Wish and Aliexpress, minghao was a well-known regular at versace, hermes, louis vuitton, and every other designer you could think of. your minimum wage paycheck could in no way sponsor these purchases, so you were completely reliant on minhao for these types of shopping trips. once in gucci, minghao pulled his bucket hat lower, covering his eyes and instructing you to do the same. he swung around the large umbrella he carried with him to the shops (confusing since it was not raining), and you watched him drop item after item into the half opened umbrella. astonished and amazed, you grabbed a wallet off of the shelf and attempted to pocket it discretely, but were caught by security. You watched as minghao left the store while you were being interrogated by the mall security. Lucky for you, you were able to get away safely and caught up with minghao to grab a pretzel before leaving the mall.
hitchhiking to jeju with seungkwan
there wasn't a day that went by when seungkwan didn't miss home: the tangerine groves, the crisp sea air, and Hallasan mountain. on one of his routine pining sessions, you had the brightest idea you'd had in a very long time, it was your chance to finally go on a much needed trip with Seungkwan to the place he loved most. You whipped out yours and his favorite and most reliable tennis shoes, grabbed a bottle of water to share, and set on your way. Despite the heat and exhaustion, seungkwan was overjoyed to be on his way to Jeju, especially to be able to go there with you and show you his old stomping grounds. As you both walked, thumbs out, you found refuge in a few nice strangers' cars. Seungkwan loved the economical nature of your trip and you loved the fact that you got to spend it with him.
cult-hopping with vernon
vernon had some...interesting hobbies and past-times, but being his significant other you loved to share these moments with him, even if they were a little strange at moments. something that vernon had always, and he meant  a l w a y s wanted to do was something he called "cult-hopping" where the two of you would spend a few months to a year joining cult after cult just to understand and learn the ins-and-outs of each organization before leaving and moving onto the next one. For the first few weeks, the experience was painfully slow, but after you'd moved on to your fourth (or was it fifth?) cult, you began to develop the understand and appreciation for it that vernon always hoped you would. You drank kool-aid, had communal baths, and even shared in some unusual choices of meals. It warmed your heart t be able to spend this much needed time with vernon, and he was happy to learn more about cults.
drug trafficking with chan
airports were your absolute favorite place, something about them made you feel so comforted and at home. with chan there to hold your hand through security and sew up secret pockets in your luggage, it felt extra special. you weren't new to the drug trafficking scene, and found it as a lovely way to make some extra money when funds were tight; although chan was definitely not in need of money due to his idol career, he still loved to see what you did best. He watched a few youtube tutorials and already he was a pro at getting through security and past the drug dogs. You marveled at how chan even bent down to pet a few of the canine officers, amazed at his composure throughout the whole process. If things went well this trip, you knew that your boss would ask him to join the ranks, meaning you and chan could fly, take trains, and travel whenever and wherever you wanted.

Anything But Mine (d.s.) - Chapter Eleven
A/N my entire dorm room smells like cleaning supplies and fresh spring air as I have been scrubbing all day with the window open in preparation for my two week hibernation. Hope you all are staying healthy and away from triggered stans ;)
Tumblr media
Thursday, October 31st, 2019
“Look out! Here comes the fiercest, most ferocious animal in the world!”
Daniel came down the stairs and into the living room, carrying Clementine in his arms. She was dressed in a giraffe costume, little freckles drawn on her chubby cheeks, and a huge smile plastered on her face. Daniel had matching drawn on freckles on his cheeks. The room ‘awe’d out loud.
“Say ‘rawr’.” Daniel whispered to her.
The ten month old let out a tiny ‘rawr’. The room offered her a gasp, making her smile proudly. Daniel set her on the carpet so Florence could take her picture.
“Giraffes don’t say rawr.” Corbyn piped up.
“They don’t say anything, actually.” Daniel rolled his eyes. “What am I supposed to tell the kid? ‘Say nothing’!”
“She’s good at that.” Zach nodded.
“I think this is the cutest giraffe I have ever seen in my entire life.” Corbyn said, “Even surpassing Daniel.”
“Wow.” Daniel pouted.
“I’m very glad I trusted you to pick out her first Halloween costume.” Florence said quietly as she sat back down on the couch, plenty of pictures in her phone to send to Callum.
“I told you I knew what I was doing!” Daniel teased, picking the baby back up.
Florence put on a soft smile, keeping her eyes on her best friend and daughter. Only a few nights before, someone who meant so much to her virtually walked out of her life. She hoped Grayson would come back to her eventually, she felt like a piece of her heart was missing and he had only been gone for three days. Florence spent the day of the 31st at the boys’ house and into the late afternoon when she would take Clementine trick or treating. Aidan, Jonah, Corbyn, and Jack were going to a party that night down the street, leaving Daniel and Zach to entertain their all too familiar guests.
“Finally done.” Aidan said as he and Jonah came downstairs as well. Aidan had dressed up as a zombie, ripped clothes that he had thrifted and green and brown paint smeared over his face. Jonah was a cop, his black button up mostly undone and tucked into his black skinny jeans. The handcuffs that hung off his belt made the room howl and clap.
“Shut up.” Jonah laughed.
“Sexiest cop I’ve seen.” Zach called out.
“Clementine looks so cute!” Jonah beamed, leaning in to gently poke her cheek.
“Get - your - dirty - hands - away from her.” Daniel said quietly, covering the baby’s head with his hand and turning away.
“Dirty hands?!” Jonah frowned.
“You know what I mean.” Daniel eyed the open button up shirt.
“Let’s get a move on.” Corbyn said, jumping up from the couch and grabbed his helmet from the ground.
“Why are you still 7 years old with your damn astronaut costume?” Jack grumbled, giving his friend a shove towards the door.
“At least I actually dressed up.” Corbyn retorted.
“I did too!” Jack protested, gesturing to his ripped jeans, beanie, sunglasses, and skateboard. “I’m a skater boy!”
“You look exactly the same as you always do. Just shirtless.” Corbyn frowned before walking for the door.
“There’s no pleasing anyone.” Jack grumbled, stopping to kiss Clementine’s cheek on the way after his friends. The oldest few left with loud goodbyes.
“I hate being a literal child.” Zach frowned, his voice muffled slightly behind the fake vampire teeth he wore, as he leaned his elbows on his knees and his chin in his hands. “Now I’m stuck with the baby gang all night.”
“You could have gone. No one there is going to ID you.” Daniel said.
“Yeah until my mother finds out. Then I’ll be dead. I’d rather be sober than dead.” Zach grumbled.
“Suit yourself.” Daniel shrugged.
“You can have Clementine’s candy.” Florence said.
Zach perked up, “Really?!”
“Hey! I was going to have the candy.” Daniel frowned.
“You shush.” Florence directed to her best friend. “Zach’s the other baby here so he gets first dibs.”
“Hey!” Zach frowned. Florence chuckled.
“We should head out!” Daniel said, rocking Clementine dramatically in his arms. “Before the baby falls asleep.”
“Yeah. I don’t want to have to carry him to bed.” Florence nudged Zach before standing up.
“You guys are so mean.” Zach grumbled before following them to the door.
The group walked down the street in the direction away from the frat houses. A few streets down, more young children and their parents were out trick or treating in the setting sun of the Toronto suburbs. Clementine, from her spot in Daniel’s arms, peered around the bustling street with her mouth open wide, one arm draped lazily over his shoulder.
“Where should we start?” Daniel asked, coming to a stop.
“There!” Zach pointed to a house on their left. A bunch of children were at the door and they could see and older lady dropping pieces of candy in their bags. The children rushed back down the steps as Daniel led their tiny group to the door. The old lady smiled at them.
“Say ‘trick or treat’!” Daniel said to the baby. At merely ten months old, Clementine only curled shyly into him.
“Well aren’t you the cutest giraffe in the city?” the lady chuckled. “How old is she?”
“Ten months.” Florence answered proudly from beside them.
“A first Halloween calls for lots of candy.” The old lady said, dropping a few pieces in the bag that Florence held. “Any for the little boy too?” she asked.
It took Zach a second to realize she was talking to him. He stood at only 5’6” next to his friends’ 5’11”. Daniel bit back a smile at Zach’s appalled face.
A nervous “N-No!” was all he got out.
Once they were back on the street, Daniel burst out laughing, Florence smiling next to him.
“All of you, shut up.” Zach grumbled.
They continued down the street, stopping at a few more houses. Florence finally took Clementine for a little while, after convincing Daniel that his arms would give out if he didn’t pass her over. A few adults complimented Daniel on his matching face paint to the baby, making the shy boy blush and thank them.
After thirty minutes, Zach claimed the baby, carrying her up to the next house excitedly.
“He could be her big brother.” Daniel snorted as the two of them waited on the street.
“Yeah, if I gave birth to him at 2 years old.” Florence rolled her eyes.
“I mean...whatever.” Daniel chuckled, sliding his hands in his pockets. Zach cut across the lawn to the next house, Clementine’s little giraffe hood bouncing on her head. Florence linked her arm through Daniel’s as they walked on together.
“When are you going to tell me what’s bothering you?” he questioned.
“What do you mean?” Florence asked.
“Oh, come on.” Daniel laughed. “Any other day you would kill yourself laughing by an old lady calling Zach a little boy. You barely smiled.”
“How are you so good at reading people?” Florence chuckled.
“I just know you well.” Daniel shrugged. “So what’s up?”
Florence looked over at Zach standing at the next house with Clementine in his arms. The gentleman at the door was fawning over the baby.
“I don’t know where to start.” Florence mumbled.
“Try it.” Daniel shrugged.
“I met this guy, Emilio, the other day. He’s Callum’s new boyfriend’s twin brother.”
Daniel repeated the long title to himself and then nodded, encouraging her on, his eyes on the pavement in front of them.
“And we hit it off. I guess, bonding over how much we miss our brothers when they’re in LA.” Florence sighed.
“Ok?” Daniel said slowly.
“And we hit it off. Like, really hit it off.”
“And by that you mean you slept with him.” Daniel stated plainly.
“Fuck, don’t say that.” Florence held her face in her hands. Daniel only frowned at her as they stopped walking. “I mean, yeah, I did, but I don’t...I feel like shit about it now.”
“You regret it?” Daniel asked.
“No.” Florence said. “God, no. He’s fucking amazing.”
Daniel tried to smile but it didn’t show.
“Grayson found out though. Monday night. He thought that we were dating this whole time but I thought we weren’t.”
“I thought you were too.”
“Fuck.” Florence whined, running a hand through her hair. “I don’t know, I just messed everything up. Now Gray isn’t speaking to me.”
“Why didn’t you think you and Grayson were dating?”
“We never talked about it; about titling anything. I’m still getting over Matt and trying to figure out who I am and trying to raise a baby. I didn’t want the ties to a relationship. I don’t know. I wanted experiences. My first and only relationship left me pregnant. I just...fuck, I don’t know. I wish I could just relive so much and change so much.”
Daniel took her in his arms, holding her warmly before saying, “I know it feels like the end of the world but it’s not. Everything happens for a reason. Things will work out. Grayson is just hurt and it was all just some miscommunication. It’ll smooth over.”
“Do you hate me?”
Before anything else could be said, Zach came trudging down the street, Clementine giggling in one arm and the arm holding the bag of candy wrapped around her back.
“This kid is heavy.” Zach wheezed, pushing the baby towards Daniel who scooped her up.
“Surprised you lasted that long with these noodle arms.” Daniel patted his best friend’s bicep, Clementine curled in his other arm.
“Speak for yourself. You’re literally a walking breadstick.” Zach rolled his eyes.
“Do you think we’re done for tonight?” Florence asked. “I’m tired.”
“Tired?! It’s barely 8:30.” Zach gaped.
“Look at her.” Daniel said, gesturing to the baby who was falling asleep on his shoulder.
“I wanted more candy.” Zach frowned pathetically, looking into the open bag in his hands.
“Poor little baby.” Florence draped her arm around his shoulders and they all headed back towards their house. Zach opened a chocolate bar on the way and he and Florence shared it. It wasn’t long before they were back at the house, Daniel flicking the lights on as they entered.
“I will never understand how you don’t like chocolate.” Zach said loudly through a mouthful.
“Can you shut up?” Daniel whispered sharply, gesturing to the sleeping baby.
“Sorry.” Zach sighed. “But honestly, it’s weird.”
“I didn’t ask to be this way.” Daniel grumbled, laying Clementine down gently on the couch. He reached for the diaper bag where her change of pyjamas was.
“I got it, Dani.” Florence whispered. He stood back and let her change the baby into her pyjamas. Zach sat across the room, eating candy, and scrolling through his phone.
“Are you staying over?” Zach asked Florence briefly looking up over the top of his cell phone.
“Uhm-“ Florence looked to Daniel.
“No. I’m driving her home.” Daniel answered for her.
Florence couldn’t help but feel that simple sentence as a stab to her heart. More often than not, Daniel had her stay over; now he seemed to be getting rid of her. She figured it was because of what she told him on their walk. Did he think less of her now?
The ride back to her apartment was filled with awkward silence. Daniel didn’t even turn any music like he normally would. Florence found herself biting her lip nervously until it tingled, staring intently at the passing city lights. Once in the parking garage, the two didn’t move for a moment too long.
“I’ll see you on the weekend?” Florence asked.
“No, I’m at the studio all weekend.” Daniel said.
“Oh. Will I get to hear anything you produced yet?”
“Possibly.” Daniel shrugged, not looking at her. Silence fell over them again.
“Ok. I better go.” Florence sighed, leaning over to hug him awkwardly before getting out of the car. She grabbed sleeping Clementine and her things and waved as Daniel drove off, leaving her, yet again, standing alone in the parking garage.

I Hope It's Okay That I Brought My Therapy Dolphin To Your Party
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});
Hi, Janine! Thanks for the invitation to your party! And might I say, you are looking fabulous! You must have lost twenty, thirty pounds at least. Is that “keto-friendly” diet working?
Oh, really? How long did the doctor say you had left? Well, you can pack a lot of living into eight months. Chin up.
I see you’ve noticed this dolphin I’m cradling in my arms. Yeah, this is Christian Grey. Grey, obviously, because of his color. And Christian because I’m raising him in the faith. Say, do you still have that swimming pool? ‘Cause he gets cranky when he’s out of the water for too long. Really? You never had one? I could have sworn you did. Oh, well. Guess it’s the bathtub for this guy.
Shhhh, Christian! Shhhh! We’re getting you some water, bud. Enough with the chattering!
No, this is totally legal. In fact, he’s a prescription dolphin. You remember about six months ago when I was having all that malaise after my Etsy store failed? Well, I went to the doctor, and I was right. Clinical Malaise. Stage 4. They said I could have a therapy animal, and they gave me this brochure. Right away, I settled on the dolphin. They said that was mainly for people who lived in or near the ocean, and they tried to talk me into a fawn or a hedgehog, but I was adamant. Dolphin or nothing. Christian and I have been together ever since. Best part? My company’s paying for the whole thing. And it is costing them plenty.
But, anyway, yeah, we really need to get him into that tub, like, ASAP. By the way, whose party is this? Yours? Well, congratulations! Sorry I didn’t bring anything. I literally had my hands full with Christian Grey. You understand. Is that hummus?
Honestly, I have no idea what dolphins eat. Fish, I guess. Or seaweed. Or whatever there is in the ocean. For a while, I was just giving him what I had left over from what I was eating. Pizza, Chinese food, etc. But that seemed wasteful, you know, giving people food to an animal. So now I just throw some dry cat food into his tank. Well, when I say “tank,” I mean this big inflatable swimming pool that I keep in the back yard.
You seriously never had an in-ground pool here? I could have sworn that you did. I must be thinking of someone else.
But, yeah, he’s my therapy dolphin. I guess he’s, like, therapeutic and junk sometimes, but goddamn, is it difficult to travel with him. Sometimes, I almost wish I had taken that therapy ostrich they tried to give me. At least that I could ride around on. And, just between you and me, Janine, the intelligence of dolphins is way overrated. I threw a Rubik’s Cube into his tank one time, thinking he’d solve it in a minute. But he barely even looked at it. And that word association test? Complete waste of time.
He does let me hug him, though, when I’m feeling anxious or sad. Which is pretty much all the time these days. I call him my little cuddle bunny, even though he’s, like, slimy. I guess I could be hugging a wet garbage bag full of gym socks and get the same effect, but it wouldn’t be alive, you know?
I brought him to this party because I knew there would be some people here who had backed me when I started the Etsy store. Including you, Janine, now that I think of it. It really wasn’t my fault, though, that the store failed. Honestly, how was I to know that I’d lose interest in crocheting immediately after buying all that yarn and that warehouse to keep the yarn? I guess I was a little overzealous when asking for startup capital, but that’s no reason for people to judge me so harshly. No worries. If I start to feel judged, I can just hug Christian Grey. Isn’t that right, Christian?
I’m one of the few people who can be around him, actually. He bites just about anyone else who puts their hands anywhere near his mouth or eyes, including kids. Especially kids. So don’t let Ethan get near him. Isn’t that the name of your little boy? Oh no? I had no idea, Janine. Well, “barren” is such a harsh word. Try “child-free” instead. Count your blessings.
You want to know the craziest part of this? In the six months he’s spent with me, Christian’s actually developed severe clinical depression. Yeah, he’s been trying to hurl himself out of his tank and onto the lawn a lot lately. Have you ever heard of anything so pathetic? What a dummy. You see what I mean about the intelligence of dolphins being overhyped.
But it’s not all bad, Janine. In fact, the doctors just told me that Christian Grey is so depressed that he’s now entitled to his own therapy animal. Isn’t that wild? And since he can’t talk or fill out insurance forms, I get to pick out his animal for him.
I’m thinking giraffe.

23 - AU
Request: Since you do AU's and your uni story was incredible how would you feel about doing Frat!Van?
Thank you again, anon for your messages explaining the whole frat thing. Sorry I didn’t respond to them! Hope this is okay xxx (I still have no idea about frats but I tried lol) <3
Thank you to @catfish-and-the-pacifier and @storiesaboutvan for helping me with plot advice for this <3
Also, I used quotes from this interview when Van is talking about drinking games.
*********
You’d been in America less than a week and you were already being dragged to a party by a bunch of girls you’d met at orientation. You were nervous, kinda overwhelmed and really unsure of what to expect. You’d heard crazy things about American frat parties; most of them bad. Especially about frat boys. You just hoped you’d be okay. Maybe you’d make friends? Maybe you’d even enjoy yourself?
You’d been worrying all day about what to wear as you’d not been able to bring much with you. You decided on the one dress you had packed; the black metallic one. It was shimmery under the lights and it made you feel pretty and magical. You left your hair natural and did some simple makeup, letting the dress be the star of the show.
Being the new exchange student at your university, people fawned over you. People wanted to hear you say things in your accent and they were quick to offer to show you around. It was nice, but all the attention made you feel a little freaked out.
“You ready?” Rosie, your roommate, asked and you nodded nervously.
“Do I need to bring anything?” You asked, unsure of the party customs here.
“Girl, no,” Rosie laughed.
You went to meet the other girls and found that they all looked like they were going off to a nightclub. You felt overdressed and started to feel a little stupid. Too late now though.
You could hear the pumping techno music coming from the house a mile off. People came from all directions and piled through the doorway. The sun had just gone down and people were already drunk. One guy was laying out on the front lawn making a snow angel, but there was no snow. You laughed and shook your head as you walked past him. Once inside you were exposed to the many awkward couples, who were probably strangers, grinding and hooking up all around the place. There was a kid in a neon green shirt that said “sober”, monitoring the beer keg and had people absolutely swarming him. You felt kinda bad for him having to deal with that.
“This is mental!” You yelled at Rosie over the music and she agreed.
Rosie took your arm and led you to the kitchen, past the chaos in the living room. You had thought the kitchen would be some kind of refuge, but you couldn’t have been more wrong. There were guys forcing freshmen to chug massive bottles of beer. They’d cellotaped cans together with a hole through the middle and were drinking through the bottom. Everyone was shouting and cheering them on. It looked painful. While you were trying to pour yourself a drink, a skinny guy with glasses almost choked and his beer went all over you in a large spray coming from his mouth and nose.
“Fuck!” You exclaimed, the older guys just laughed and the skinny guy turned and threw up into the sink behind him. Rosie quickly grabbed some paper towel to try and sponge your dress dry.
“That won’t work. Where’s the bathroom?” You asked her. She took you by the hand and led you through the sea of people. As you walked, you held the wet parts of the dress out so it didn’t stick to your skin.
Rosie pointed you to the last door up the hallway and then turned to go and get a drink, promising to find you later. You knocked on the door, no answer. You slowly turned the handle, it was unlocked. Holding your breath slightly, you pushed it open. But as soon as you did, you glimpsed a figure in all black.
“Oh shit! Sorry!” You said in a fluster, quickly turning around before you properly saw him.
“I’m not taking a piss love, you don’t have to run out,” a very strong British accent replied.
You turned back around slowly, opening one eye at a time. There was a guy standing on the toilet, one arm out the small window and his head strangely jammed in the gap, his messy brown hair falling into his eyes. You shut the door behind you and breathed a sigh of relief as the music muffled.
“What’re you doing?” You asked, raising an eyebrow as you went to turn the tap on.
“Havin’ a ciggie. Not allowed to smoke in these frat houses, see. Gotta do it in secret,” he said, bringing his head upright away from the window. As he did so, you could smell the smoke faintly. You just nodded at him and went to wet a towel for your dress.
“What’re you doing?” He asked curiously before taking another drag.
“Cleaning my dress. Some kid spat beer on me.”
“Well, it’s a lovely dress,” he told you, you smiled.
“You don’t think it’s too much?” You asked. “I felt really overdressed. I’ve never been to a frat party,” you told him.
“No way. It’s proper fancy and all but you look like a model or summat.”
You just laughed and shook your head. He was sweet, innocent. You sat down on the side of the bath and began to sponge the fabric. Lucky it was black otherwise you’d have awful brown stains on it. You wondered how on earth that kid had so much beer in his mouth. It was enough to cover you.
“This is just my luck,” you sighed.
“Shit happens,” the boy shrugged and you agreed.
“I’m Van, what’s your name?” He said.
“Y/n,” you told him.
“Y/n...” he said under his breath, nodding his head to himself. He took a few more drags, breathing the smoke out into the air. When he was finished, he put it out on the window sill and threw the butt outside. He crouched down and sat on the closed toilet lid.
“You’re not from here are you?” He questioned. For the first time, you noticed the bright blue colour of his eyes. They were piercing even in the fluorescence of the bathroom light.
“No, I’m on exchange. You’re not from here either, clearly,” you smiled.
“Nah, I’m on exchange too! But because I don’t get real high marks you know, they made me join this frat thing? It’s weird,” Van said, turning up his nose slightly.
“Weird how?” You asked.
“Well for starters, these fuckin’ drinking games? What’s that all about?” He questioned in disbelief.
“Yeah, the guy who spat on me had taped like four cans together and was chugging it through a hole in the bottom. Stupid.”
“Yeah like, what are you fuckin’ doin’ man? Just drink out of a glass, stop being a weirdo. You know what I mean?” He said, using his hands to gesture his confusion at the weird behaviour. He was clearly very passionate about this and his thick accent only amused you more. You laughed and nodded. You liked Van, he was honest and funny. And the most ‘normal’ person you’d come across.
“Agreed,” you laughed.
“The lads here are trying to get me to join in and do some ‘zulu warrior down it!’ crap? Like woah mate, I’m just gonna drink it,” his voice was so animated and full of a jokey tone of judgement, you couldn’t stop smiling.
“Don’t even get me started on pledges,” he said with frustration.
You both fell silent, comfortable in each others’ company. Then there was a rapid knocking on the door followed by shouting.
“Hurry the fuck up!” Some guy called. You looked at Van and pulled a face. He grabbed your hand and quickly led you out of the toilet behind him.
“Oh, great. I’ve got to use a sex stained toilet now do I?” The guy slurred angrily at the two of you. You just rolled your eyes.
Van pulled you along with him, you held his hand tightly and gripped the sleeve of his leather jacket with your free hand. The wet parts of your dress stuck to your legs and felt gross. He led you back through the living room, dodging the drunken students, and outside to the back garden. Once outside, you breathed in the fresh air as if it were gold. You hadn’t realised how awful and sweaty it was in there.
You sat on some lawn chairs on the grass, Van pulled out his lighter and lit another smoke.
“I thought you couldn’t do that here?” You asked, confused at all his effort earlier to smoke through the window if he could have just come outside.
“I can’t. But no one’s around and this seems like a class smoking spot,” he smiled, lighting the cigarette between his teeth and crossing one leg over the other. You both looked out into the night and you didn’t feel like anything needed to be said. Van was quiet, letting the smoke billow around him; he seemed lost in his thoughts.
The music pulsed behind you in the house and coloured light poured out of the windows. You felt like you were in some teen movie; you and Van were the two outcasts who ended up alone together, isolated from the crowd. You’d seen this scene a dozen times before. The comfortable silence, the reflection of thoughts, the deep and meaningful conversations that led to some irreplaceable memory that’d be significant to the rest of your life. You could see it flash through your head like the silver screen. Or maybe you were just overthinking.
“You’re different, Van,” you said, staring at him with a small smile. You weren’t sure what it was, but you were intrigued as to how he could go from being the comedic and open guy from earlier, to having this mysterious and calm alter ego.
“I know. I’m a test tube baby, nobody gets me,” he grinned.
You were a little unsure of what he meant, but you didn’t ask. You pulled out your phone and began scrolling through your social media to pass the time. You saw a blurry photo posted by Rosie, who had clearly forgotten her promise to come and find you. You didn’t mind. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw Van put out his cigarette. He then reached over and plucked the phone out of your fingers.
“Hey!” You whined.
“Wait.”
Van handed it back to you shortly after. He’d added himself into your contacts list. Your chest felt fuzzy and warm, especially when you saw the hearts he’d put next to his name. He was cheeky.
“Us exchange kids gotta stick together yeah?” He said and you nodded, looking down at your phone again.
You were typing a text to send to Van straight away, saying something about how you liked his eyes and his smile and that you thought he was really cool. You felt kinda lame, but maybe lame was good. Maybe lame was honest.
“You’re the first normal person I’ve met. You gotta come to all these stupid parties with me y/n,” Van told you, looking right into your eyes.
“I was thinking the same thing about you actually, Van,” you smiled. You tucked your legs up under you and sat cross-legged in the chair. You sent the text.
You heard Van’s phone buzz and he pulled it out to check, a smile instantly blooming across his face. He didn’t look at you, he just typed fast. When your phone chimed, your heart started to race. The text from Van read “your lame, I like you. And I like your face too xxx”. You blushed and tried to ignore the fact he’d used ‘your’ not ‘you’re’. You looked up at Van, who was already looking at you as if examining your physical response.
“Wanna go get a drink?” Van asked you happily.
“I sure do,” you stood up and held out your hand to him. He took it in his and kissed it, then the two of you walked inside, once again weaving through drunken, sweaty bodies.
You laughed and poked fun at the people still playing stupid drinking games. The two of you felt a strange sense of superiority as you poured your drinks into glasses and clinked them together saying cheers. You made warm and happy eye contact with Van as you sipped on your drink as if the two of you knew something no one else did.

Name: Kaimana “Kai” Aolani Martin
Age: 25
Characteristics: jovial, exercise-oriented, fun-loving, but he can be sarcastic and too stubborn at times
Bio: Kaimana was born in Abernathy, Texas on August 8th to Carletta Gomez and John Manuia, a couple that wasn’t looking to have children and still hadn’t changed their minds after their child was born. For a month they debated over what to do with him before deciding that leaving him at a police or fire station was best for everyone. They could live their lives and hopefully, their child would end up in a good home. Not wanting to dump him in town, they took the time to travel out of the state. They ended up dropping him off in Surprise, Arizona at the entrance of the fire medical station late in the night with all his information when he was four months old.
From that night on, he was being tossed around from home to home until he was five years old. That’s when Alfie and Alia Martin were cleared to bring him into their home that already had three children; Darren who was the oldest and thirteen at the time, Francine who was the middle child and ten at the time, and Harper who was six at the time. It took Kai a while to adapt and open up to them, but the family quickly took to him. It was quite obvious Kai had been adopted, but the family ignored the stares they got and the neighborhood stopped staring after about a year. Darren was ecstatic to have a little brother and taught him the wonders of knock-knock jokes. He made time to spend with Kai outside of (and sometimes with) his friends as he grew older and had to babysit. Francine was just a proud big sister, more than happy to brag about her baby brother and have her friends fawn over the somewhat shy tyke. Harper was eager, having a kid closer to her age to befriend and talk about animals with.
Life turned out pretty okay for Kaimana. He was mocked for not knowing where he was from or even who his birth parents were. He wasn’t physically bullied, but he took a few emotional punches. Darren advised him to bulk up so he could defend himself if he needed to. Kai already showed interest in old karate flicks and sometimes mimicked the moves, knocking things over accidentally, but his parents enrolled him in both karate and jujitsu.
Just before he turned eight, Kaimana was adopted and his last name changed from Aolani to Martin. That was the happiest day of his life yet. He felt like he belonged. As he grew up, Halloween was known as his favorite holiday. It wasn’t about candy for him. He loved picking a character to be for the night, and it was soon incorporated into his birthday parties. Everyone had to dress according to the year’s theme and it helped him stand out in a good way.
There were still individuals that made fun of his quirks and the fact that he still didn’t know his real parents, but that was water rolling off his shoulders. The Martins were his real parents because they were raising him and did all they could to make him comfortable. When he was nine he got another sister named Skylar who was adopted as a baby. They let him in on picking little things for her and he vowed to be the best big brother possible.
Kai had a great comradery with each of his siblings and parents. His family helped solidify him and never let him question who his family was or where he belonged. Although his childhood dream was to just be a cosplayer, as he got through middle school he knew he had to have a real job. He wasn’t very sporty but loved playing baseball with family and on teams in school. He also worked well with numbers, getting up through Calculus in high school, which was the highest level of math they offered. By the time he graduated high school, he planned to take a gap year to figure out his plans for the future. In that year he volunteered in different shelters, got a job mowing lawns, and attended a few cosplayer conventions for fun. He finally decided to become a fitness trainer and worked on his degree in town before taking a leap and moving out to Los Angeles.
Starting anew was challenging at first, but he settled in and started training people in his apartment before an opening for a personal trainer came up at a gym nearby. Today, he still works there and you can occasionally find a cool video of him cosplaying and doing stunts on his YouTube channel.

Party Animals
Hello, everyone… it’s Holly here today. I hope your week is starting off good so far. Today I have a Fun card using products from Mama Elephant and an easy background you can create with Distress Inks.  I had some technical difficulties with my video so look for that a litter later today.
I started with a piece of Tim Holtz watercolor paper and on the smooth side, I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment from Mama Elephant’s Make a Wish set in VersaFine Black ink. Then I heat embossed it with clear powder. This is a great way to heat emboss in Black if you don’t like the mess you get sometimes with Black powder.
I smooshed some Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink onto my craft mat and spritzed it with water using the Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer. Then using an acetate sheet I picked up the ink and smooshed it all over the background. This is a very easy way to start creating backgrounds with Distress and it will work with both the Regular Distress and the Oxides. I let it air dry and then I added a few splatters of water and lifted it with a paper towel.
I adhered the background to a top folding A2 size card base and then I stamped all the images from the Mama Elephant Party Animals set onto some X-press it blending cardstock with some Lawn Fawn Jet Black ink. I colored the images in with Copics in the following colors: C3, C1, C00, Y11, Y15, Y17, Y26, YR18, RV02, RV04, RV06, E21, E23 and E27. I used the coordinating creative cuts to cut them out and adhered them to the bottom with foam tape.
Have you been creating with the new Distress Oxides ink lately? Leave a comment below, I’d love to hear how you’ve been using them.
Thanks for stopping by today!!!
