Lee smirked proudly to himself as he listened to you explain your masterplan  whilst you sat in his lap at the kitchen table. "Damn, Sugar, should I be worried? How'd y'know know all this?" He asked looking up at you, his large hand stroking the soft skin under your skirt.
You bit your bottom lip as you played with his shirt collar, shrugging your shoulders. "I like to read crime books." You smiled.
Lee raised his eyebrow at you, "Ain't youn' girls s'posed to read romance books n' fairytales?"
You rolled your eyes, "If I was five, maybe, but I ain't." You huffed.
"Okay, darlin', I ain't mean nothin' by it." He smiled as he reached up and stroked your cheek, "I was just curious about why my sweet little sugar was such a mastermind?" He chuckled softly making you blush.
You shrugged bashfully, "I can't help it," You smirked at him, "Besides, it's your fault."
Lee's eyebrows raised, "My fault? What I do?"
You giggled, "I only read crime books so I understand your work." You admitted with a blush.
Lee's lips stretched into a wide grin as he pinched your chin between his thumb and index finger. "I love you, Sugar."

Lee shut the door of his cruiser before he began to make his way towards the still smoking house. He frowned and looked around the scene before he looked at the deputy in charge.
"Wha'cha know, deputy?" He asked, his hands on his hips.
"The neighbour, Mrs Blair, said she was woken up at one this morning by a strange sound coming from next door. When she looked out the window, she saw that the house was on fire. By the time the fire department arrived, the house was pretty much engulfed. They only just got it out not that long ago." The young deputy gulped. "And that's not all, sir. They found a body."
Lee let out a heavy sigh, "Shit."
The deputy nodded, "Sir, a neighbour across the street... Hmm, said that... Hmm, that-"
"Spit it out, deputy." Lee glared at him.
"He saw you leavin' the house just before half ten last night." He frowned.
Lee nodded, "Of course he did, Deputy. I dropped, Mrs Riley, home last night. I was down at the bar with my girl's grandpa n', Mrs Riley, was there, drunk as a skunk n' causin' problems." Lee frowned, noticing the deputy's lack of eye contact. "What is it, deputy? Don't believe me?"
The young deputy shook his head looking panicked, "Of course I do, Sheriff... I just, thought, after all the trouble she's put you through since her son passed, I thought you would just have, thrown her in the cells or something?"
Lee let out a short chuckle, "Son, I ain't gonna punish a woman grievin' for her son n' looking for someone to blame. She needed someone to help her n' as Sheriff, I have a duty to protect." Lee nodded looking down to the floor briefly, taking a deep breath, "How do they think the fire started?"
The deputy sighed, "She was laid on the sofa, sir. Looks like the fire started in the same place, so most likely she was smoking and fell asleep."
Lee reached up and took his hat off, pushing his hair back before replacing his hat.
"God damn..." His brow creased as he looked back at the burnt home. "Alright, deputy, I'll leave you to it. Keep me updated." Lee tipped his hat to the deputy before heading back to his cruiser, a smirk threatening to curl at his lips.
Of course Mrs Riley's neighbor saw him, Lee wanted it that way. He wanted people to see him being the good Sheriff, helping a drunken grieving mother into her home safely. How was Lee to know when he left Mrs Riley she'd light a cigarette and fall asleep on the sofa with it where she'd knocked over a bottle of liquor, the perfect fuel for a house fire?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Come in!" Lee shouted out to whoever was knocking on his office door. Lee looked up and began grinning as you opened the door. "Baby girl, wha'cha doin' 'ere?" He asked as he walked round his desk.
He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your lips as he pushed the door closed and locked it before pulling the blinds shut to give the two of you some privacy.
"I heard the news." You placed your hands on his chest, "I wanted to make sure you were okay?"
Lee nodded as he slipped his arms around your waist. "M'fine, Sugar." He smiled, "No need for ya' to come down 'ere."
You began smirking as you trailed your fingers across his firm chest. "Actually, I have another reason for comin' down 'ere."
Lee's brow furrowed, "You do?"
You hummed and stepped out of Lee's arms smirking and walked over to his desk. "What do you think of my coat?" You asked him, holding your arms out.
Lee looked you up and down with a frown. He shrugged. "Ain't it a little warm to be wearing a rain coat, Sugar?"
You bit your bottom lip and wrapped your hands around the belt of your trench coat. "You're right, Sheriff, it is." You untied it and pulled the material off your body, letting it fall to the ground around your feet. "Much better."
You let out a playful giggle as Lee stared at your naked body, lust filling his eyes and his cock hardening in his pants. He stared at your chest, watching your nipples harden from the cool air.
Lee gulped and ran his tongue over his bottom lip. "What's this?" He asked with a smirk.
You rolled your eyes playfully, "I know you've been thinkin' 'bout fuckin' me in your office with just this on." You held your left hand up to show your engagement ring. "What better time than now?" You grinned at him.
Lee let out a low growl and closed the gap between you, crashing his lips against yours as his large hands grabbed your waist, pulling you close.
He pulled back with a grin and quickly swiped the contents of his desk to the side. "Bend over, darlin'." He spun you around delivering a harsh slap to your backside making you yelp.
You bent over his desk with your heels still on, your ass in the air and gave it a wiggle. "This how you want me, Sheriff?" You smirked at him over your shoulder.
"Left leg up." He ordered as he unbuckled his belt and pushed down his pants enough to free his cock. He wrapped his hand around his cock as you did as he said. "Good girl," He smirked to himself as he reached down and ran his knuckles through your folds. "Fuck, Sugar, already so wet for me."
You let out a little whimper, "Please, Sheriff," You tried to push yourself closer to Lee's fingers.
Lee chuckled softly, "Don't worry, Sugar, I'll give ya' what you need."
Lee placed his left hand on your waist as he took a hold of his cock and lined the bulbous head against your wet core before he began to fill you.
"Relax, sweetheart," Lee slowly pulled back as he ran his hand over the small of your back soothingly. "Good girl." He whispered as he pushed back inside you with ease. "Fuck," Lee moaned as he bottomed out.
You curled your fingers around the edge of the desk. "Please, Sheriff... More." You begged softly.
Lee smirked, "Such a desperate little whore." He slapped his large hand against your packside before he reached forwards and grabbed a hold of your left wrist and pulled your arm behind your back. "Don't worry, Sugar, I'll fuck ya' just how you want."
You let out a deep groan as Lee quickly pulled out and pushed back as he held your left arm behind your back. As Lee fucked into you, his eyes were fixed on your engagement ring as it sparkled. A sense of pride filled his chest and made him move with more force.
He slipped his arm under your leg and held your wrist as he leaned over you. You let out a low moan as you felt Lee's tummy press against your back, your cunt squeezing around him. He reached round and wrapped his right hand around your throat lightly so he could raise your face from his desk, crashing his lips against yours in a needy, sloppy kiss. His tongue forcing its way into your mouth as you moaned deeply.
Items on Lee's desk began to rattle and fall onto the floor as the desk began to shake fiercely.
"Fuck, Sugar," He smirked against your lips, "Yer pussy was made for me."
You cried out, "Yes!" You groaned deeply as Lee touched that spot. "Oh, God,"
"Shh," Lee moved his hand up and forced two of his fingers inside your mouth, pressing your tongue down to silence you. "We ain't want my deputies to 'ear ya' bein' a whore, do we?" He smirked as he hit that spot again that made you cry out around his fingers.
Lee didn't care who heard. You were his girl and if anyone dared say a word to bad mouth you, he'd take care of them.
"Shit!" Lee growled, your cunt squeezing his cock.
Your eyes rolled to the back of your head and a muffled scream left your mouth as you felt your orgasm rip through your body.
Lee's right hand gripped your hip firmly as he hammered into, "Fuck!" He stilled and came inside of you making you moan and arch your back as you pushed yourself back onto him.
Lee removed his fingers from your mouth and replaced them with his own mouth, kissing you softly.
He pulled back from you with a soft smile. "Did I hurt ya', Sugar?" He asked and slowly began to peel himself from you.
You shook your head, your eyes tired as Lee helped you to stand on your wobbly legs. "Worth it." You mumbled, smiling to yourself.
Lee rolled his eyes with a heavy sigh. "C'mon, I'll take ya' home." He smirked at you. "Maybe I'll have lunch... Between your legs."
You keep your head down as you near the store. That group of boys is smoking at the corner again, their stained white tees and dusty old flannel jackets smell of sawdust and oil. Your daddy always tells you not to talk to strange men and except for him, they're all strange.
"Hey, doll, where you in a rush to?" One of them flicks a cigarette away as he breathe smoke behind you.
You hurry up as he whistles, "yeah, walk faster, girl. Wiggle them hips."
"Quiet," another hisses and you hear the heavy thump of a slap against his shoulder, "ain't no way to talk to a lady."
Footsteps rush after you and before you can reach the door, it opens, the bell jangling above as one of the men pulls it back. You look at his boots, grimy, laces fraying, slouching around the ankles. His other hand dangles by his side, cap folded in his grip.
"I'm really sorry about Jethro, miss, he's got a real nasty mouth," he says, "you alright?"
You nod and say nothing as you continue inside.
"You're scarin' her, Arv," another man calls over, "look at her shaking in her shoes."
He sighs and lets the door close between you as he turns back to respond. His words are muffled as you take a basket and flit into an aisle. Mr. Canavan is behind the counter, flipping through a newspaper as the radio crackles. You pick out the few staples running low in your pantry and add on a bottle of rum for your pa.
"Afternoon, miss," Canavan greets in his piggish snort. You return the sentiment as you wait for him to tally up your order. "How's your daddy?"
"Good, good," you answer as you peek towards the window. The men cross the street and disperse, some still walking in pairs.
"He got a thirst?" he comments on the bottle.
"Doesn't he always?" You count out the money and hand it to him.
"Yeah but he usually takes care of that down at Hal's."
"Lost too much on the table last time," you shake your head as he gives you back the change.
He packs up a paper bag and you thank him, sliding it off the counter. It's heavy and makes your shoulders ache. You shouldn't have waited so long.
You push the door open with your hip and turn, nearly colliding with another. The same man chuckles as he puts a hand on your elbow to keep you from toppling. You bite your lip and his eyes fall to his touch, dropping his arm guiltily.
"Sorry, miss," he says as he sweeps back a curly lock that droops down his forehead, putting his cap over his hair to hold it back, "didn't mean to scare ya."
"It's fine," you nearly whisper.
"I wanted to say sorry again for my friends, if I can call them that. They don't see ladies often and they forget their manners."
"Really, it's okay," you insist with a squeak.
"Nah, it isn't," he counters, "but I told 'em to leave you alone."
"Oh, thank you," you look past him.
There's a pause. Awkward as he digs his heel into the ground. He chuckles and rubs his hands together.
"That looks heavy, can I help ya with that?" he asks.
You look at your armful. You don't know if you should. Would he be mad if you say no? He hasn't been mean.
"Just halfway," he offers, "not tryna creep on ya or nothing, I'll just walk you to your corner."
You press your lips together. Your daddy wouldn't see him at the corner.
"I really feel bad about those other jerks," he continues, "so least I can do is carry your groceries."
"Okay," you utter.
You stand stupidly as he grins at you. You catch a glimpse of his dark eyes and crooked smile before your eyes return to the ground. He gently reaches to shift the bag out of your arms and lifts it easily. He steps back and you feel his gaze hanging over you.
"Which way am I goin?" he asks.
"Oh, uh," you point past him.
He turns and waits for you to come up beside him before he starts off. He's shorter than the others but his shoulders are broad. He's still got a couple inches on you, though he's much trimmer. You catch up and focus on keeping pace with him.
"I'm Arvin," he says.
"Um," you breathe and muster your name in return.
"I like that. It's pretty. Hope you're husband wouldn't mind me sayin' so."
"Husband? I'm not–"
You stop at the corner as you wait for several cars to pass before crossing. A brown and white cruiser rolls past and you watch the bumper disappear down the next street. You continue on as Arvin kicks a pebble unwittingly.
"Not married?" he finishes for you.
"I live with my pa," you answer.
"Course. You must be young then."
"I'm grown," you insist.
You hate how your daddy teases you in the same vein, especially when he has friends over. It felt worse coming from someone nearly your own age, or looks to be.
"Ah, just wonderin'," he assures.
You're quiet as you carry on. You know you shouldn't still be at home. Lots of girls in Knockemstiff marry before they finish school. You haven't even had a date, not a kiss, or a look in your direction.
"Just up here," you point to the next corner.
He nods and carries on, stopping at the end of the street as he turns to you, "you sure I can't walk you all the way?"
"My pa wouldn't like that."
"He loves you, huh?"
"He's my pa," you shrug and reach for the bag. He hands it over reluctantly.
"I hope I see ya around. I work down at the mill. For Mr. Haroldson. Case you're wonderin' where to find me."
"Thanks," you hug the groceries.
He gives a tight-lipped smile. Disappointment twitches in his cheek.
"See ya ‘round then."
"Maybe," you answer as you turn away.
You continue down your street. Halfway, you look back. Still watching you, he waves and slowly walks back the way you came. You spin back along the old country road, houses speckled over flat fields. You pass the rusty old brown truck at the edge of your pa's property, the sheriff's cruiser parked closer to the shed.
You didn't expect company tonight. It must've been the same cruiser you saw at the corner. Your dread bubbles up but you quickly tamp it down. The sheriff always makes you nervous. He's talkative and you're... not.
As you go inside, you hear your pa grumbling. You put down the groceries as the screen door clatters and take off your tweed jacket. You hang it as you step out of your boots.
"You know we miss you down at the station," Bodecker's voice nears as his footsteps lurk, "there she is."
Before you can retrieve your haul, he has it in his arms, "how ya doin', baby girl?"
His usual pet name makes you squirm. Your pa says it's just him being nice. You never say anything against it.
"I got it–"
You try to take the bag but he holds it away from you.
"Nah, what kinda man would I be, let alone a sheriff, if I didn't help a lady?"
He winks and turns away from you, leading you past the doorway of the front room. You peer over at your father as he scowls and gulps from a can of beer. The sheriff likely brought the appeasing six pack to ease his presence.
"What's for dinner tonight?" Bodecker asks as he puts the bag on the counter, peering inside.
"I'm making a meat pie," you explain as you go to the fridge, "be more than enough for company, if you like?"
"Now, how'd such a sweet thing like you come from that old coot?" He smirks over as you take out the beef wrapped in brown paper.
You shrug and take the cutting board from against the wall. He doesn't move as you set up around him. You hate how his eyes follow you. Every time he's around.
"You don't gotta work?" You ask as you reach for the bag. He pushes it towards you as he steps closer, looming over you.
"I'm off duty for the night. Think I might indulge with your daddy," he reaches into the bag, his belly brushing your elbow as he lifts out the rum, "good brand."
"Pa likes it," you step away as you search the cupboard.
"You're old enough, you could join us after dinner–"
"I don't like the taste and my pa don't want me drinking," you kneel to pull a pan out from the drawer.
"Good habit not to take up," he clunks the bottle on the counter and rests his hand on the neck, "that boy you were walkin' with, he your friend?"
"Boy? No, he was being helpful is all."
"Was he, now?" He comes closer as you stand, "I know that boy, he ain't helpful."
You glance at him. His blue eyes cling to you and you don't miss how they wander to the top of your blouse. You put the pan down and turn to grab your apron.
He comes up behind you and takes the string, tying them tight as you wince in surprise.
"Well, you're young. I'm sure you're fixing to find a husband soon. I'm just lookin' out for you."
"I'm not looking for a husband," you draw away from him, "thank you, sheriff."
"Well, your daddy won't live forever. Who's gonna take care of you, then?"
You face him and frown, "I don't wanna think about that, sheriff, and I got dinner to make."
"I'm sorry, baby girl, I worry about you. How long have I known you? I can't help it."
"Thank you, sheriff, for worrying, but I'll be just fine."
He tilts his head, bemusement sparkles in his vibrant irises, "I'm sure ya will be, baby girl… very fine."
He sidles away and you return to the counter, pulling a knife from the block. The sooner dinner's on the table, the sooner you can go hide.
🍽️
You clear your plate first, dinner’s made less appetizing by the sheriff and his leer. Your father doesn't help as he drinks more than he talks and you're left to entertain Lee's comments about your cooking and the same blouse he'd seen you in a dozen times.
As you stand, the sheriff slurps from his beer and watches you. His lips shine as he puts the can down and smirks, "baby girl, you mind gettin' me the ketchup?"
You swallow and nod, "certainly, sheriff."
You turn and carry your plate into the kitchen, clunking it down on the counter before pulling open the fridge. You take the glass bottle of Heinz and return to the dining room to set it down.
"Pa, you need anything?"
"Dammit, Marcy, leave me be. I told ya… patrol's been busy," he waves his hand at you dismissively, your mother's name giving you pause. Lee hesitates as he twists off the metal lid.
"I… pa, I…"
"Is this what you're gon' do? Pester me?" Your daddy slurs, "'cause what? She was only being nice, ya know? I was too, I couldn't say no–"
"Jack," Lee reaches over and pats your father's arm with his knuckles, "ain't there a game on soon? That old radio still work?"
Your father blinks drunkenly and scowls. He shakes his head and hiccups, swearing as he tries to drink from his empty can. He tosses it so it bounces off the edge of the table.
"Course it does," he sneers.
"You got twenty on the home team?" Lee goads, "I should lock ya up for gambling."
"Ah shut up," your father glowers into a dark chuckle, "it's you that's gon pay me fifty anyhow. Can't lock a man up for winning."
"Ah sure, Jack," Lee stands and claps your father's shoulder, "come on. We’re missing the first."
You don’t miss how the sheriff shifts his grip and lurches your father out of his chair. He gives him a nudge toward the front room and glances back at you. You should be grateful for the redirection, yet the leer in his eyes only makes you nervous. You know he’ll be wanting thanks for that for a long time to come.
“How about you bring some of that rum out with dessert?” Lee smirks as he follows your father towards the den.
You don’t mention that you didn’t have anything planned for dessert. He doesn’t wait for you to say so. He chuckles and teases your dad again about the wager.
You’ll have to come up with something. You might be able to spare enough for cream puffs. Those were always ma’s specialty.
wc: ~1100 words
warnings: tdatt takes place in the midwest and yet i insist on giving lee a poorly formed southern accent
a/n: this is the last day of my summer celebration week🥺 thank you again so much to everyone who has read, liked, commented, or reblogged! i’ve had so much fun this week and I hope to do something again like this in the future! this is probably my favorite piece ive ever written and I hope you all love it as much as I do🤍
pairing: lee bodecker x gn!little!reader
summary: lee’s baby becomes obsessed with bunnies. lee tries his best to be supportive.
⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆ ⋆。゚☁︎。⋆。 ゚☾ ゚。⋆
“Did you see their tails, Daddy? They’re so fluffy! D’you know bunnies can use their tails to talk to other bunnies? They let them say when they’re in danger!”
God please let this sound genuine. “That’s great, baby.” That coulda been better.
You huffed and crossed your arms. “More than ‘great’! Is the coolest thing ever!”
Lee sighed. He really was trying to sound interested. Last week he took you to a petting zoo and you were entranced by the bunnies. You couldn’t stop talking about them; it was nonstop bunny facts for a whole week.
He loved your enthusiasm and wanted to support your new interest, but he was nearing the end of his rope. Lee wasn’t used to talking or listening so much before he met you. He liked the change, but he was still adjusting to it.
He reached his last straw with the bunny facts when you weren’t even around. A fellow officer was recounting his hunting trip and Lee almost butted in with the reason bunnies have a white tail before he caught himself. Lee didn’t contribute to conversations like that and he most certainly did not share fun facts.
He made a beckoning gesture. “C’mere baby. Sit on Daddy’s lap, I wanna talk to ya.”
Arms still crossed, you sat with Lee on the recliner, leaving your spot in the middle of your living room where you interrupted Lee’s show to present him with more important bunny information. He kissed the spot between your brows to smooth the wrinkle forming there.
“Now I know you love those bunnies, and I love hearin’ you talk about ‘em. But can ya give me a lil’ bunny break once in a while? Daddy doesn’t have the energy to be talkin’ all day long. I wanna be good at listenin’ to ya, and I can’t do that if I’m tired.”
Your arms slumped out of position and you looked up at Lee with sad eyes. “You tired of me?”
“No, god no. I’m not tired of you, baby. Could never be tired of you.” He hugged you close. “Daddy just needs some quiet time once in a while, that’s all. It’s like when you an’ I go to the grocery store on a busy day and it’s too much an’ ya just wanna go home. Some days everything adds up and I need a breather.”
“Did you have a bad day, Daddy?”
“Nothin’ you need to worry that sweet little mind a’ yours about. Daddy’ll be right as rain after some cuddles. Can ya help me with that?”
You smiled at him. “Yeah, I can do that. And we watch your show too!”
Lee kissed your cheek. “Thank you, baby.”
You took to giving Lee some space very well. Things essentially went back to the way they were before the petting zoo, only now you needed an outlet for your bunny babble.
You went to the library and worked on reading through every bunny book they had. Lee even bought you a holder for your library card that was made with bunny-decorated fabric. While reading, you wrote down every new fact in your journal(also decorated with bunnies).
Every night, Lee would come home and you’d do your usual routine of hugging him, kissing him, and asking him about his day before you shared a new fact.
Lee became a better listener after opening up about his need for space. He asked you random questions about bunnies and worked some of that knowledge into your lives. Phrases like “quick as a bunny” entered his vocabulary and he caught onto your affectionate headbutts.
One day, Lee went into town by himself to get a nice pack of cigars for one of his superiors when a shop window caught his eye. The store specialized in imported goods. In the item display among fancy dishes and handmade bags rested a stuffed bunny. It looked soft and huggable with tan fur and a pink nose. He knew you’d love it.
Lee bought the plushie and rushed home. He couldn’t wait to see his baby’s reaction. He kept the toy in its bag and held it behind his back as he opened the door.
“Where’s my little bunny at?”
“Goin’ potty, Daddy! I’ll be out soon!”
Lee laughed. “Alright, well make sure you wash your hands real good, Daddy’s got a surprise for you.”
He grinned at your muffled squeal coming from behind the bathroom door and put away the rest of his shopping. He put the empty paper bags in their designated spot for your crafts and was met with a hug from behind.
“Hi Daddy!”
“Hi, baby.” He spun around to hug you back. “What’d you do while I was gone?”
“Ate snack and read my book and then I drawed a new bunny from my dream!”
“Oh yeah? What’d you have for snack?” Lee sensed you getting antsy.
“Carrots and crackers and apples and peanut butter.” You spoke quickly, wanting to know what the surprise was but you knew you had to be a patient baby or Lee wouldn’t give it to you.
“How were the apples?”
“Sweet.”
“How were the crackers?”
“Salty.”
“How was the peanut butter?”
“Sweet and salty.”
“How were the carrots?”
You groaned and smushed your face into his chest. “Daddyyyyy. You’re teasing.”
Lee laughed. “Ya caught me. Daddy won’t tease anymore, baby. Close your eyes and I’ll hand you your surprise.”
You did as he said and were surprised at the feeling of paper in your hands.
“Open your eyes.”
“A bag? What’s Gerald and Geraldine?”
“It’s the name of the store baby, ya gotta open the bag.”
“Oh.”
You peeked inside and let out a piercing shriek. “It’s my Bingo bunny!”
“Your what?”
“Bingo bunny! I saw him in my dream, his name is Bingo! You brought him home! Thank you thank you thank you, Daddy!” You threw your arms around him and kept jumping excitedly.
“You’re welcome, baby. You saw this bunny in your dream?”
“Yeah he was sad because no one loved him and no one gived him kisses but now he’s here and we can love him and give him kisses!”
You kissed the plushie and hugged it tightly to your chest, twisting side to side with excitement. You held the bunny towards Lee.
“You kiss him too, Daddy.”
He shook his head at your insistence and pecked the bunny’s forehead. You made the toy do a happy dance and skipped away, making up a song about bunnies in a meadow.
Lee watched you with a love-struck look on his face. You’d brought out a softness in him that no one had ever seen before. Later, he’d join your playtime and be met with a ton of kisses from you and your bunny.
A/N: This is kind of a slow burn with this mini series. The reader and Lee aren't going to be together right off the bat. The first part is more focused on Lee and the second part is more focused on the reader! I would also like to note that this is my first time writing smut for this series so it might not be the best, I ask that you please be kind. I do not claim to be a professional writer, any and all mistakes are my own; nothing is beta read. Please be sure to read any and all warnings, minors will be blocked! Lastly, the any dividers were made by @firefly-graphics and any moodboards that you see were made by me! I hope you enjoy!
A Family Sleepover, Down in the Valley
Tumblr media
It’s been about two years since I first wrote Dead Trees Like Lavender Fields, and the town of Bell’s Holler was born. I know it’s not quite the actual anniversary — I’m pretty sure that passed — but I want to celebrate anyway! I’ve missed the Valley, and I’ve missed y’all being a part of the Family. I’m excited to add more stories to the universe, talk lore and what-ifs, and in general get spooky with it.
As such, from now until my birthday on August 19, 2023, I am opening up my inbox to all manner of Valley-related things, including the following:
Seven Sentence Somedays: Send em an ask with a fluffy, smutty, or hurt/comfort prompt of your choice + any CE, SebStan, or other character listed below. You might just get a lore drop or bring out hidden ideas for a Valley-related story!
Hainted Headcanons: Got questions about  the true name of Bell’s Holler or what it really means to be Green? Wanna know about your favorite Babe and who they are in the Valley — Agent of the Inner Dark, Guardian of the Gren, or somethin’ more besides? Curious about each story’s individual Reader and who they might be? Send an ask! Hainted Headcanons are more in-depth explorations of the world this Alternate Appalachia and the people living and shaping it.
Moodboard Minin’: If you know me, you know I love a good Moodboard and you know I love an excuse to make ‘em. Send me a request and I’ll put together a moodboard for a possible Valley-verse story, or even an alternate story for an existing Valley character!
Asks will be responded to on a rolling basis, to the best of my ability! Thank all of you for being here with me!
Series Masterlist // My Masterlist
Tumblr media
No one would look at Lee Bodecker and pin him as a generous lover. He takes, and doesn’t give unless he receives. He’s like this in all aspects of his life. Anything and everything it takes to just have more, and to be more, and to accumulate power. It’s his motivation. To be the one in control, to be the one who takes what they want and fuck the consequnces- even though there hardly are none.
And yet, for you, the most selfish man imaginable has spent hours with his head ducked under the skirts of your dress. You’re laid out on his bed, with only the corset long forgotten while he’s devoured and drank you in like a man starved. He’s made you cum so many times now, and he’s still fully dressed. His large hands are outstretched across your thighs, holding you in place as his movements make you squirm.
He shamelessly kisses, licks, and sucks until you're squirming. His hands firmly pressed into the flesh of your thighs as he sucks on your clit. It’s unfair, the way he makes you finish so effortlessly. You swear you can feel him smirking against your folds, before he finally resurfaces. He’s cocky. He’s so fucking good at this and he knows it. He unashamedly smiles at you, almost in a boyish way, and his eyes linger at the way your chest heaves as you try to come back down from your high.
It was almost embarrassing if you thought about it long enough to care. The way Lee ushered the sitter out for the night as fast as humanly possible. The kid did her best to try to give Lee updates, and he just almost looked like he was able to pay attention. As soon as the door closed and she made her swift exit, Lee confirmed Val was asleep soundly before hooking his arm around your waist and sweeping you into his bedroom.
There wasn’t an inch of skin on your body that his lips didn’t touch, his tongue sweeping up your navel, and biting small kisses as soon as you were bare to him. You would try your best to say something, but the sensation of his calloused hands on your thighs and his lips on your chest was so overwhelming good that you ached.
“Look at you,” he marvels when he finally decides to come up for air, slick coating his chin and he looks like he couldn’t be more pleased with himself. You can taste yourself on his lips when he leans down to kiss you, and the salt on his tongue when your teeth haphazardly clash together in the heat of it all.
He only shows hesitance in his movements when it comes time to remove his own costume. You’re spread out naked on his sheets while he hovers above you still fully clothed. You pout and tug at the hem of his shirt and you catch the way his eyes fall, and that’s the first time you see how insecure he is.
“Want to see you,” you mumble, pulling him in for another kiss. You drag it out, making it slow and passionate. The best way that you can tell him you love it. It’s no secret he’s got a belly, and fuck if it isn’t the sexiest fucking thing you’ve ever seen. You could swear on your life you saw his cheeks turn the faintest shade of pink. He’d never admit it, but eventually your hands rubbing up and down his torso convinces him to finally shed the layers.
“Fuck me,” you groan at the sight of his cock once he’s tossed his boxers aside. “Lee, god you’re gorgeous.”
“I should be the one saying that about you, darling,” he mutters against your neck, his breath causing goosebumps to form on your skin.
You’re so desperate, and you’ve lost count how many orgasms his been able to coax out of you. You shiver when his fingers find your clit, making sure you’re ready for him. You’re almost whining for him to hurry up, and he chuckles at your growing impatience. The memories of just being here are already hazy from your constant climaxes since he shut the bedroom door. It’s felt like hours, and he’s not even inside you yet. It’s excruciating how he’s been able to pull you apart and not quite pull you back together yet. You’ve made a mess of his sheets, and you’re convinced your nails have made indents on his headboard to match the ones you’ve made on his shoulders.
It stretches you when he finally pushes his cock inside you. You also feel a smidge of pride when his breath shakes when he pushes inside for the first time. It’s cliche to say, but it’s perfect, and he hits so deep almost effortlessly. When he finds his rhythm and quickens his pace, he wraps your legs around him and he’s relentless once he knows you're comfortable.
You don’t know what time it was when you both finally slept. The sun was daring to just show itself when you looked out the window as you caught your breath on your back. You remember Lee and his low groan getting up and mumbled something about cleaning you up, but soon enough you drifted off to sleep a few minutes after he began the run the warm cloth over the span of your skin.
You wake up to the sound of a loud knock on the front door god knows how much later. It makes you jump and your eyes wake suddenly. Natural daylight of the afternoon lights up the whole room. You hear the pads of Lee’s feet as he hurries to the door, saying he’s coming, and you hear the familiar babble Val makes  when she sees someone she knows.
You’re sore, your head feeling so clear and well rested but your legs feel too heavy to move, and the soreness from the way Lee stretched you out has stayed well into the afternoon it seems. You can’t make out who is at the door but you can hear the muffled voices. You decide for now that it’s best to stay put. If you emerge from the bedroom now, it could only be horrible timing.
There’s an exchange you can’t hear, it’s a woman’s voice but that’s all you can distinguish. You hear the door close and you debate whether or not to get up and grab your discarded clothes. You haven’t moved when the door starts to slowly creek open. It’s Lee, disheveled morning bed head and a five o’clock shadow on his jaw, wearing blue pajama pants, with the matching shirt opened showing his undershirt. You imagine he shuffled to throw them on to answer the door.
“Morning,” he mumbles, leaning over the bed and kissing you on the cheek. He pulls back the covers and takes his spot next to you, shedding the pajama shirt. You instinctively shuffle closer, and he pulls you into his chest. It felt normal, so effortless. It just fit.
He’s so soft. For a man so scary and a reputation that goes across the whole county, he’s so damn soft and warm. His fingertips graze your skin like your something much more delicate than you are. He kisses your forehead, and you can hear his heartbeat through the tough exterior he’s never without until now.
“I called Mrs. Hughes,” he explains, “Told her you were under the weather and I needed someone to watch Val for the day.”
You tsk and jokingly call him a liar, and his grin spreads across his whole face.
“I just wanted more time like this,” he whispers, moving to cup your cheek in his hand. “‘Fore the real world pulls us back again.”
“You think I’d want to be spending my day off here?” You tease, making him roll his eyes. He playfully pushes himself away, and sits up, leaning over to grab the box of cigarettes he had on his nightstand. You watch him go through the motions, the instinctual way he lights it and brings it to his lips.
You know you should tell him to stop. You know you should lecture him on how it’s a filthy habit, and it’s bad for his health, and also yours. But watching him is mesmerizing, you can’t pinpoint why, but watching him smoke like this might be the most attractive thing you’ve ever seen.
You shuffle up slightly, and lay your arm across his torso, resting your head on his side and looking up at him. He takes a couple drags, and rests his head back against the headboard. You watch the way the smoke swirls when he exhales, and you commit to memory the way it looks when he brings it up to his lips.
“So, what are we doing today?” You ask, breaking the silence, rubbing his chest.
“Well,” he says thoughtfully, pretending to begin an elaborate plan. “Right now, I’m going to finish this.” He holds up the half finished cigarette. “Then, sweetheart, I’m going to fuck you.”
“Oh?” you manage to ask, flustered, and it makes him grin wickedly.
“If you can be a good girl and be patient,” he replies, taking another agonizingly slow drag. You nod and he smiles. “Maybe be a good girl and show Daddy how badly you want him to ruin your sweet little pussy.”
This. This is the Lee you imagined. This is how he behaved in the dreams you keep to yourself, and what you imagine him saying in the dirty little fantasies you can’t repeat. You feel yourself practically throb at the way his tone shifts, and the way he looks at you because he knows he already has you wrapped around his finger.
You slid on top of him, still hazy with sleep, and you fumble with pulling down his pants. One hand balances the cigarette and the other runs over your head affectionately as he watches you amused. You can see the way his cock is straining against the material and you can feel the wetness pool between your thighs with your own anticipation.
Lee is trying his best to look indifferent, and he knows he’s failing miserably. His eyes are locked on you. The way you sleepily manage to undress him, and the way your eyes widen for the briefest moment before doing your best to hide it. He’s enamored with every little movement and he can’t dare to look away. He does for only the briefest moment to tap his cigarette against his ashtray and as he does, he feels your lips wrap around him and you sink down deliciously slow. It makes him shiver, and he would swear he could feel you smirk.
You’re beautiful, absolutely the most stunning woman ever to grace his presence. He can’t believe how you want to be here with him. He swears in that moment he ain’t ever going to take that for granted. He holds the top of your head as you move up and down on his cock, and he strokes your head, mumbling about how fucking beautiful you look with your pretty lips wrapped around his cock.
The praise makes you practically preen, and it makes you feel so confident. You try your best to ignore how wet you are. You squeeze your thighs together to create some friction to relieve even a little bit of the way you’re feeling.
“Lemme see you baby,” he coaxes, and you lift your eyes up to meet his. He discards the cigarette in the ashtray. “You’re so pretty, darling.”
He guides your face up gently and holds it in his hands, pulling you up to kiss you like it was unbearable to wait. You moan softly in surprise as he moves his arms down to wrap around your back and he gently urges you forward.
“You’re so amazing, sweetheart,” he praises, sliding down to lay his head on the pillows so you’re straddling his torso. He looks even more disheveled, and he’s looking at you with such a sense of just pure longing. “Princess,” he murmurs, leaning forward to kiss your thighs, “c’mere, sit on my face.”
“A-are you sure?” you ask, hesitantly. He nods, sliding his hand up the back of your thighs, urging you closer.
“Please baby, lemme taste you,” he pleads. “I can see how wet you are, darling. Please, baby girl, let Daddy fuck you with his tongue.”
You move yourself so you’re hovering over him. You wait, expecting him to change his mind. But he pulls you down, almost immediately, and you brace your hands on the headboard.
You immediately feel his tongue on your folds, and you’re amazed how much he’s into it. You’d expect him to be a selfish lover, never would you ever imagine you’d have Lee Bodecker absolutely worship between your thighs. He sucks and kisses your clit, making you weak in the knees. He works his tongue methodically and teasingly, until you tugging gently on his hair and begging him to let you cum.
You feel it in your whole body, when you feel yourself cum on his tongue. You feel him tighten his grip around your thighs, pulling you down closer as you do, like he’s determined to absolutely devour you.
Your legs are shaky as he gently moves you down to laying on your back. He smirks, laying down next to you, glistening with your slick. You can taste yourself when you lean over and connect your lips with his. He smiles, sliding his hands up and down the length of your sides, taking in the feeling of every single inch of you.
You arch into his touch and he mumbles his approval against your lips. His hands squeezing as much flesh as his can of your thighs, and your ass. You roll onto your stomach and then kiss him one more time.
“I thought you were going to fuck me Daddy?” you tease, slowly arching your ass up and running a finger across his lips. He groans happily, adjusting himself behind you. His hands massage and squeeze your ass, taking a moment to enjoy the way you look like this, before teasing your entrance with the tip of his cock.
“Please, Daddy,” you whine, pushing back impatiently. “Need you to fuck me,” you beg. He groans appreciatively, continuing to tease you with his cock as your wetness drips down your thighs. He teasingly, presses his thumb gently against your ass, feeling out your response. You moan, gasp surprised at how fucking good it feels and you beg for him to keep going. He continues to gently tease and rub your tight little hole, and thrusts his cock into your pussy.
You're a babbling little mess of tears, and Lee continues to tease how cute you look when you’re stuffed with his fingers and his cock. You beg him to fuck you harder, and he’s more than happy to oblige. He moves his hands to grip your waist and continues to thrust at a brutal pace. You can feel how deep he is inside you, and it makes your brain fuzzy. He’s urging you to be a good girl and cum, refusing to finish until you finish, and he feels you tighten around him. You soak his cock as you scream out in pleasure at your orgasm tearing through your whole body. Once he’s worked you through your orgasm, he pulls out and finishes on your back as you collapse on the sheets.
“Wow,” he marvels, collapsing down on his back next to you. You smile softly, your eyes closed from exhaustion. He doesn’t let himself get too comfortable, before he gets up to clean you up. He takes care of you first while you lay relaxed in a post-orgasm haze, and then he takes care of himself before joining you on the bed again.
You kiss him quickly, then rest your head on his chest. He smiles, and kisses your head. He sighs contently, wrapping an arm around you. He looks to the window, seeing how it’s become the late afternoon. He can’t believe you’ve spent the whole night before and almost all of today in his bed. He hates to think about it ending. He looks over to the clock on his bedside table. 4:21 pm
“Surprised my roommate hasn’t called for me,” you ponder, “Suppose she might be exhausted from her shift, might think we just missed eachother.”
“Yeah,” he agrees absentmindedly, distracted by just looking at you.You sigh happily, and snuggle yourself closer to him.
“So,” you muse, tracing nonsense shapes on his chest, “I hate to ruin the moment…”
“Go on, sweetheart,” he urges, trying to not sound nervous.
“What does, you know, what does this make us?” you ask shyly.
“Well, darling, shit,” he chuckles nervously, “I reckon that depends on what you want. Me? I’m all in. I am all in.”
“Really?” you ask hopefully.
“I know it sounds crazy,” he admits quietly, “but darling, I think I’ve been wrapped around your finger since I first laid eyes on you. And, I want you as long as you’ll have me.”
“Makes two of us then,” you smile. “Is it really that easy?”
“As long as we’re here,” he grins, lacing his fingers through yours. He kisses your knuckles. “It’s our little oasis, darling. No one else matters, ‘cept you and me… well, and Valerie.”
“Of course,” you smile, kissing him once more.
Series masterlist
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
He was watching you again. Inside his car, on his lunch break, slurping from his milkshake as his eyes never left your form. Your head was turned down, watching the pavement as you moved, yet you seemed to be aware where everyone else was because you never bumped into anyone. He noticed that about you. How your body moved almost fluently away from others. You didn't like to be touched. You flinched if someone did.
You were alone a lot. Listening to the noises around you, or he would sometimes hear you murmur to yourself. Sometimes you made strange noises if you were excited. He knew what they said about you.
They thought you were weird.
He didn't mind. Everyone talked about him too. Granted, he was a bit shady sometimes, with his secret businesses here and there, but it was something he had in common with you. Both of you fell outside of what was appropriate.
Of course, he was the sheriff, so no one dared to say it to his face. But they did to you. He had watched you for years. With your pretty hair, and that body…
He shuffled in his seat uncomfortably. You always had an effect on him.
He loved your eyes, although you barely look up to him. You do that. You glanced past people, or talked with your face turned a different way. Some people looked at you funny when you did.
But he knows why. Your parents told him once. When you got dared into doing something naughty. You didn't like it, but told him you had said you would do it before they told you what you were supposed to do. And you needed to keep your promises.
He talked to you sternly about how wrong it was of you, and you sat there with tears in your eyes. Head down. Like you had committed the worst crime. You were a good girl. Your parents told him that. It wasn't your fault. It was those kids. They thought it was funny. School talked to them. They left you alone. But you didn't make many friends.
Too different, too quiet, or too loud. You didn't say the right things, you didn't like the right things. You were too honest.
He liked that about you. He didn't need to wonder what you thought. You weren't two faced like all the other bitches. Who smiled at him in hope for favors, or in hope he would turn his eyes away from what they were doing. You were, you.
When you were alone, or thought you were anyway, your shoulders relaxed and he could sometimes see you smiling. Most times you would if you spotted an animal. Talking to it, like it was your friend. And you were good with kids. Really good. They flocked to you and you easily handled them. You didn't like sudden noises, and you were very clear about that, and they listened to you.
That's something people did like about you, they had no problem ditching their kids on you. You were a natural.
It was one of the things he noticed first about you. That drew him towards you. Your natural motherly instincts. He knew you would do excellent with your own. And the idea of you, one or 2 kids by the hand, belly swollen with another, made him rock hard each time.
God, you would be so pretty. He imagined your children; babies with brown hair, maybe a cleft in their chin, like his. The family Bodecker. You, all soft and sweet smelling. A ring on your finger. It made him come so swiftly once he touched himself.
He was happy no one snatched you up. They all couldn't look past your different behavior and see the gem underneath. They were blind to your qualities. What fools. But it worked in his favor though. Such a good, sweet girl. All ripe for the picking.
You were growing and seemed to not be aware of him. That was okay, he was fine with letting you have this time for yourself. Just out of college, young women needed to find their own way. He didn't want you to feel like you missed out on everything once he married you. That led some housewives to turn a little crazy, he saw it all the time, married at 18 or even 16 at times, high school lovers, and by the time baby number 2 was on the way, they looked worn out and disappointed in life.
Not you though. You finished school, you had a nice job, good parents. He gave you that time. He never was far away though. Watching you. Making sure you stayed out of trouble. Or trouble didn't find you. There weren't many boys to approach you, but those with eyes did, those who were too eager to be bothered with your quirkiness. He made sure to scare them off. He didn't need the competition.
He had a good job, a job that gave him power over this town, a nice house. He could afford a family. When the time came, he could convince your parents he was a good match. But most important was he needed to convince you.
📖
You walked into the library to return your books and pick up new ones. You came here at least once a week, often twice, as you loved reading. It was the time that you could disappear in a story and live a life you were never going to get. Experiencing all the emotions and adventures safely from your own home. Romance, and travels, fighting dragons or being a ruling Queen. In real life you liked things simple, but in your head you were free to do whatever you wanted. In your head people liked you. You belonged.
Lately you got very into fairytales again. Consuming every book you could find, rereading classics, daydreaming about the magic that was both wonderful and scary. The Alpha King, and Omega and the false mate, Sleeping Beta…they were all lovely stories and you couldn't get enough. You walked through the rows upon rows of books, feeling calm and like you were amongst friends. Here you were safe. Here you were liked.
Your hands occasionally picked up a book and read the cover, lost in thought. You didn't even notice the presence next to you, until a voice shook you out of your thoughts.
“Excuse me.”
You froze and looked up. Sheriff Bodecker looked down at you.
“Oh”, you said, stepping away.
He chuckled and shook his head. “I didn't mean for you to leave. I just wanted to grab this book.”
You watched him as he picked up a faded green book. He flipped through the pages. You hadn't expected him to read. You scolded yourself after the thought. You didn't know him. It's just that…he didn't seem the type. You heard stories about him. They said he liked the booze and he loved the ladies who gave it away for free. He had always been pleasant if you ever saw him, devoted to his work, but gossip still followed him.
Gossip was tricky, though. For years rumors went around that you were stupid. That you were rude. That you were mentally challenged. They didn't understand you. And you honestly often didn't understand them. Luckily your parents loved you and stood up for you. They might not always understand but they didn't punish you the way other parents would have. They didn't make you feel bad for not always looking them in the face. Or for being blunt and too honest. How your head was in the clouds at times. Or how people overwhelmed you sometimes. But other people, they didn't get it. And they didn't like what they didn't get.
You watched everyone around you making friends and falling in love. Easily getting through events you struggled with. They got married, and started a family. It was difficult at times, to realize you wouldn't have that, but eventually you accepted it. You were comfortable with your life. You had your family, and one or two acquaintances, and you were okay. It was nice being alone. Quiet. When you were alone, no one expected something of you.
You watched out of the corner of your eye how he assessed the book, before he looked at you again. “Do you know if it's any good?”
You glanced at the title like you had to think about it. “It's a little boring. But I don't know what you're looking for.”
“Just a little something to entertain me in the evenings. I was never much of a reader, but I thought why not read a book once in a while instead of always putting the telly on, ya know?”
You nodded. “What genre are you interested in? Action? Or mystery.”
“Romance.”
You blinked. “Romance,” you quietly repeated. You're eyes gliding past the titles of books and thinking to yourself.
“I don't mind it being a little…naughty, might motivate me even more to be honest,” he chuckled.
Your cheeks heated, but you tried not to show any signs of your discomfort. A heated romance. Of course you could list a few, but it felt awkward sharing that with him. You hummed softly under your breath, more out of nerves than anything, but you grabbed a book eventually. “A little naughty, and definitely romance,” you told him.
He hummed and turned the book in his hands. “Thank you, I didn't know where to start.”
“The librarians are happy to help if you can't find anything.”
“Yes, I'm sure they are, but you seem like you know more about this stuff.”
Maybe you did. Maybe it was easier to approach a visitor than the strict ladies running this place? You continued your search, but he did not leave.
“Don't you have enough books?”
You frowned. How could anyone have enough books? And why was he criticizing you? “I like reading.”
He laughed. “ No, I can see that, but do you really read all these in a week?”
“No. Sometimes I read them in a few days.”
“Oh, really. Okay. That's impressive. I really need to catch up if I were to compete with you.”
“It's not a competition. You can read how you want.”
“Oh I know, I was just joking.”
It wasn't a very good joke in that case. “Oh.” You thought, then replied. “Do you need anything more?”
There was silence, then he answered awkwardly. “No, you helped enough.”
You nodded.
He said your name quietly and when he didn't continue, you looked to the side at him. Your eyes locked and you blinked before you looked away.
“Tell your parents hello from me, will you?”
You nodded. You would, if you remembered.
He walked away and you were left feeling a little weird about the whole conversation. Sheriff Bodecker, reading a romantic book. It seemed a little silly. But maybe he was a little lonely. He was unmarried and didn't seem to be in a hurry to get settled.
He asked for something a little naughty, though. If he wanted anything naughty he should've gone to a different section of the library. They had a few of those, although most people didn't dare to pick them up and give the ladies anything to gossip about. Sheriff Bodecker, with a naughty book. You smiled to yourself. It would be the talk of town.
🤎
You wrapped your scarf around your neck, it was a little chilly today. Maybe you were just tired. It had been a long day at work today, your hands were cramped from all the typing, and your colleagues had left you feeling a little upset. Normally you tried to not listen to their chatter and ignore if they were ever negative about you. But today…they had stood a little nearer and you had more trouble filtering their voices.
They had talked about Marcie, who had found herself a beau. If only it had stayed about Marcie, it would have been fine. But they had looked over at you and pretended to lower their voices.
“Spinster”, they had used. They giggled slightly during it. You pretended not to see them staring at you. Or how they didn't care if you heard it.
“She’s never going to find anyone, I mean did you hear her talk about the different office chairs to mr. Johnson? One would think she had to sit on spikes.
You bit your lip. You did not want to cry in front of them. They had changed the chairs two days ago, the old ones too worn out to be pleasant. But you had liked them. You were used to them. And it felt like an old friend had been ripped away from you. So you had talked to your boss if he could make an exception, if you could keep yours, and store the new one. But of course he hadn’t wanted to. And you admittedly got a little upset. Word got out, or maybe they heard you. You had cried on the toilet, but tried very hard to gather yourself and continue like nothing was wrong. It didn’t matter. They knew. And they thought you were crazy.
And now they kept bringing other things up in their conversations. Like they enjoyed your discomfort.
You did your job well, however, so you were pretty sure if you laid low for a while, mr. Johnson wouldn’t fire you. You always made sure to finish all your work, even if you had to stay longer. Got the job done.
But now, at the end of the work day, you felt exhausted. It was tiresome keeping up pretense. The constant noise of the workplace around you. A short break to try and relax and be alone wasn't enough. You knew maybe things would be easier if you sat with them and told them things you heard, so they could gossip about someone else for once. But you didn’t like them. And they were too much. You needed your break to rest before getting back to work. You often sat outside on a bench alone, or took a walk.
You took a deep breath. Tonight you were going to read your new book, and ask your daddy if he wanted to play the piano. He didn’t do it as often as he used to, but you always enjoyed his music. He would do it for you, you knew it.
As a single Omega, you still lived with your parents. It was common to do so. You couldn’t live alone with your designation and it didn’t seem like you would ever move out and get your own home to look after. Your parents were disappointed, no doubt, but they always assured you they loved you, and that it would be nice in their old day to spend it with the three of you. You wondered if they had a different child than you, if they had wanted to get another. Someone easier to handle.
You walked past the shops, occasionally looking through the windows. You liked window shopping. Seeing all the new things on display, even if you didn’t buy much. You didn’t need it. But sometimes you saw something pretty and pondered if you should get it. You should buy a new dress. Most of the ones you had were getting a little old. But they were so comfortable and new dresses felt a little tight and rough. Perhaps your mother would buy some fabric and sew one for you. She knew your tastes.
A car honked next to you and you startled. When you looked around with a beating heart you noticed the car of the sheriff. He had rolled down his window and called out to you.
“Sorry, little lady, didn’t mean to scare you. I saw you walking and thought maybe you wanted a ride home?”
You blinked. A ride with the sheriff. You had never done that. “I’m fine walking.” You replied and tried to smile.
“You just look tired, is all. And it is going to rain soon.”
Was it? You didn’t feel much like getting wet. Still, this was weird. Different. What were you even going to say to him?
He opened the door from the inside though, clearly expecting you to get in, and you didn’t want to be rude. He meant well.
You clambered in, fixed your dress and your hair.
“Long day?” he mentioned. “You look tired.”
“Yes.” you answered.
“I get that, I’ve been busy since 5 this morning myself.” he sighed. “Got a call in for a robbery. Those damn Callen boys always stealin’ them chickens from the Bookers farm. Not exactly the most exciting job.”
You blinked, thought of how to reply. “Did you get them back?”
He chuckled. “Well some of ‘em. They ate at least two, but I arranged for them to work a few weeks at the place to pay them back. And I'll make damn sure they're going to show up and do the work.”
You nodded. The Bookers were cheapskates, but a theft was a theft, and you were sure they enjoyed the free labor. Those chickens couldn't be worth that much.
“You look nice today,” he mentioned suddenly.
You looked down at your dress. A little frayed around the edges. Your hair must've been less than proper because you tended to play with it if you were in thought. Maybe he was being nice. “Eh, thank you,” you mumbled.
He hummed. “That dress is a nice color.”
“Blue is my favorite,” you blurted out. You wore red today, you didn’t know why you said it.
He chuckled. “Is that right? Well I love blue.”
Your eyes looked anywhere but him, at the passing buildings and bushes. What else were you going to say? It was polite to talk back, your mother had told you. Ask about something!
“Ehm, this is a nice car,”
He turned to look at you again, not keeping his eyes on the road and you swallowed. “Well, it comes with the job, but it does its work.”
You nodded.
“Do you know how to drive?”
“Oh no. No, no. I do not.”
“I could teach you.” he offered, and your heart rate increased.
“No!...no. I don't think I can, I get nervous.”
“Well everyone gets nervous the first time, but you’ll learn soon enough, you’re a clever girl.”
You blinked at him. No one had ever called you clever before. You weren’t stupid, you werent, but no one thought you were particularly bright. “I get nervous.” you told him firmly.
He hummed “Well alright, If you change your mind, I'm more than willing.
“I don't mind walking.” you told him.
“Yeah, I see you walking around. You like looking at things don’t you?”
You looked down, ashamed, but his finger lifted your chin. You startled at the contact.
“Wasn't mocking you. I just see you sometimes. Gotta keep an eye on the crowd to make sure nothing happens, part of the job, I can’t help it. So I see you walking and befriending the neighbors cats.”
“Oh.” You didn't know what to think of this. Being watched. You always felt like you were. “I like cats.”
“I like them too. They’re a little feisty. You got one at home?”
You shook your head. “No, my parents don’t want one.”
“I was thinking about getting one. Might be nice to come home to something, you know? House is all empty.”
You understood. You’re parents rules, however, nothing you could do about it.
He sighed “ Yeah…. gets real lonely for a man by himself. You got someone waiting on ya?”
“Eh no. No, no one.” You felt nervous. You knew it was common for a girl your age to settle, or have settled already. It was embarrassing to admit.You had never even kissed before.The thought of it made you anxious though, How to even do that with a tongue, and how to move? It seemed mighty complicated.
“Me neither,” he admitted. “It’s a hard job, and not everyone can deal with being the wife of a sheriff. I’d treat her right, though. Yessir. I’d be a good husband. For the right woman. I always wanted that. A house, a wife, some kids. A nice meal when I get home…”
You hummed, like he had done before.
"You can cook?”
Your eyes moved rapidly over the car interior. “Why, yes?” it came out as a question.
“Yeah I expected you to. You’re a good girl after all. Momma raised you right.”
You felt warmth shoot through you. You didn’t know why. He was being nice. And you weren’t used to that. You actually were a pretty good cook. And you liked doing it. Relieving your mother from the hard work running a household was. And showing you cared. You know you weren’t always good with that. Often absorbed in your own head and your own feelings. So cooking was something you could do.
“Would love to have a home made meal again. It’s been so very long.”
You nodded.
He eyed you. And as the silence lingered he tsked. “Well, who knows, maybe someone will invite me someday.”
“Oh. Yes. I'm sure,” you were quick to agree. It would be nice for him. Someone cooking. Maybe Miss Oleson would, the woman was all alone and about 70, she probably would love the company.
You would ask her, so he wouldn't feel embarrassed. Miss Oleson would watch you sometimes when you were younger, and she was kind to you. She always gave you candy even if your parents had told her not too. You were fond of her.
You arrived at your house soon and you got out. He leaned towards the window again.
“If you want, I can come pick you up again tomorrow.”
You blinked. Why? Was it going to rain again tomorrow?
“You don’t have to.”
“It’s my pleasure.” he grinned. “Unless i’m being called away, but if so, I’l call you.”
“I don’t have a phone.” You eyed the laces of your shoes.
He laughed. “No silly, at your office, I can call the company.”
“Oh. Yeah that would work. I guess.”
“That’s settled then. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Okay.” you mumbled and turned to walk towards the door.
As you heard him leave behind you, you suddenly remembered you hadn’t said goodbye, or thanked him. You felt your cheeks heat. You were supposed to thank someone for helping. You messed up again. Tomorrow, when he picked you up, you would make sure to thank him then. Maybe he wouldn’t think you rude anymore. And maybe you should find some questions to ask him about. So he didn’t ask you weird ones when there was silence.
You hung up your coat at the door, suddenly smelling a nice scent coming off it.
The fabric had absorbed some of his that lingered in the car. You sniffed carefully and then reared back in shame. It was kind of improper to just smell someone. You only did that to someone you knew better. Like family, or…or a suitor.
Still, the scent lingered in your nose as you walked away, and it was pleasant enough for you to feel a little lighter for the rest of the evening.
Devil in Disguise Part 28...
Lee Bodecker x reader series
Tumblr media
<Part 27<
Warnings: 18+ readers only, swearing, darkish!reader
"Ain't ya' think I'm a little over dressed?" You asked Lee as you looked down at the new dress he'd bought for you.
Tumblr media
It was an engagement present Lee had said, to which you had rolled your eyes at him playfully.
"Sugar, ya' look beautiful and I want the whole damn town to know I'm the luckiest guy in the world." He grinned at you as he leaned over and pressed his lips against yours. "Besides, that dress is gonna look ten times better on my bedroom floor." He winked at you making you blush and giggle.
"Lee," You slapped his chest as he chuckled. "C'mon, grandpa is waiting." You pointed over to where your grandpa was stood by the church gates.
Today would be the first time you and Lee had been out in public together since he proposed. Sure you'd been to the hospital to pick your grandpa up but you didn't know anyone there. You'd invited Lizzy over to join you for lunch the same day to share the good news with her, which resulted in her almost screaming the house down with excitement and making Lee and your grandpa disappear outside grumbling, making you laugh. Other than that, no one else knew yet.
Lee didn't want to tell anyone at the station until you were with him and he could proudly show you off, maybe give you a nice hard fuck on his desk in nothing but your engagement ring.
Sunday service was the best place to share your news. It meant you only had to tell one nosey house wife and by lunch time everyone in Knockemstiff would know that Sheriff Bodecker was engaged to his Sugar.
"G'mornin', George." Lee shook his hand as he smiled.
"Mornin', Sheriff." Your grandpa smiled and looked at you before pulling you in for a hug. "Mornin', honey. How ya' both doin'?" He asked.
"We're okay, grandpa. How are ya' feelin'?" You asked.
He nodded, "Good."
Your brow furrowed, "How did yer meetin' with the bank go?"
George nodded again, "Good. They said the house is worth enough to get me outta the debt, with a little left over to get me some place small."
"Oh, good," You smiled at him. "Isn't it?"
George signed, "I guess." He grumbled. "It only means, I ain't gonna be able to give ya' much for the wedding, honey."
"I don't care about that, grandpa."
He frowned, "I do... Yer grandmother would too. She'll be rolling in her grave... Probably come back n' haunt me too..." He huffed making you and Lee smile.
"Y'ain't gotta worry 'bout the weddin', George." Lee put his hand on his shoulder. "I got it covered."
George frowned at him, "But the father of the bride is supposed to pay for it."
You felt a lump in your throat. "Oh, grandpa," You smiled softly at him, holding back your tears. "I'm happy to marry, Lee, in his living room. I don't need anything big. As long as I have the two most important men there, I'm happy."
George cleared his throat and nodded, "Still... I'm getting haunted by your grandmother for sure." He gave you a smile making both you and Lee laugh. "C'mon, before all the gossips start."
The three of you made your way inside. You followed behind your grandpa, your left arm linked with Lee's as you walked down the middle of the pews towards where Lizzy was sat, waving at you.
You smiled brightly at her as you slipped into the pew beside her and her parents. Lizzy silently took your left hand with a grin and pulled it across her lap to show her mother.
"Congratulations." The older woman whispered with a smile, elbowing her husband. He nodded and reached over to shake Lee's hand as he gave his congratulations to you.
You were glad Lizzy's parents still liked you after everything that happened. In fact they were grateful that you were there with their daughter that night.
You snuggled into Lee's side as he slipped his arm around your shoulders, the pair of you settling in for a boring morning. As you sat listening or pretending to listen, you could feel the stares of others and almost hear the whispers from those behind you. With Lee's arm around your shoulders protectively, you didn't care.
Eventually the service came to a close and it was time to leave the stuffy church. And you were more than eager to do so. It had been a while since you'd visited your grandmother's grave, life having gotten a lot more hectic since dating Lee. But you were sure your grandmother wouldn't mind, she did always like Lee... Liked to tease you too about your little crush you had on him.
"Oh, Lee, I forgot the flowers." You frowned looking back to his Cadillac.
"No matter, I'll get them, Sugar." He leaned down and pressed a kiss to your forehead before walking back to his car.
You turned around and began to make your way across the graveyard toward your grandmother's grave, smiling to yourself as you thought about her and your mother. You wished she had been able to be buried with your grandmother but because she'd killed herself, she wasn't allowed to be buried in the church graveyard along with your grandmother and was buried somewhere out of town. Another reason why you hated the backwards shit hole that was Knockemstiff, they still lived in the dark ages.
"It should be, Bodecker, down there."
You frowned and turned away from your grandmother's grave to glare at Mrs Riley. "Excuse me?"
"You heard." She walked closer to you, "He's a crook. I know he was behind, Bobby-Ray's, murder." She glared at you.
You huffed, "Don't be ridiculous. What happened had nothing to do with, Lee. Maybe if yer son wasn't such a wrong 'en then maybe he wouldn't have been there in the first place."
"LIAR!" Mrs Riley snapped at you.
You scoffed, "Please. That no good son of yours was bad news n' y'known it." You glared at her. "Then again, so are you, ain't ya'?"
"I'll make the pair of you pay for what you did."
"We did nothing!" You snapped at her.
"Bodecker, is nothin' but a crooked fat fuck of a cop." She glared at you. "I'll make sure he rots in hell for what he did to my son."
You lunged forwards, wrapping your hand around her throat and shoved her against the wall of the church so the pair of you were out of sight.
You squeezed your hand around her throat as you got in her face. "You shut yer fuckin' mouth." You hissed at her as she tried to claw at your hand. "Everythin', Lee, did was to protect me n' within his duties as the Sheriff. Yer shithead of a son was nothin' but a worthless scumbag that tried, multiple times, to assault me. He also attempted to drug me, successfully drugged my best-friend so his friend could do what he liked to her. And just like yer worthless, son, you were blackmailing my grandpa. Now, out of the four of us, which two were breakin' the law, hmm?" You smirked at her. "You best be careful what you say and do from here on out, ya' hear? Don't forget, Mrs Riley, my mother was a murderer, and what is it they say... Like mother, like daughter?" You glared at her, smirking to yourself as you watched her eyes widen with fear.
"Sugar?" Lee stepped round the corner of the church with a proud smirk, looking between you and Mrs Riley. "Everything okay?"
You smiled and let go of the older woman, nodding. "Sure is, ain't it, Mrs Riley?" You asked looking at her with a sweet smile.
She gulped, nodding, "F-Fine. Ex-Excuse me." She quickly scurried off, getting as far away from you as she could making you smirk.
"Did you hear everything?" You asked looking up at Lee.
He hummed and nodded, "She needs to shut her mouth." He grumbled and handed you the flowers.
You thanked him, kissing his cheek before turning back to your grandmother's grave to place them down. "I have a feeling, we may have to do it ourselves." You sighed and turned back to look at him. "She's started drinking a lot... Especially on payday."
Lee raised his eyebrow with a smirk, holding his arm put for you. "Sugar, have you been thinkin' of ways to shut, Mrs Riley, up?"
You shrugged, "I read things..." You smirked up at him. "And accidents do happen, Sheriff."
Characters: Lloyd Hansen, Lee Bodecker
Summary: you're left reeling after your divorce but the chaos has only begun. (short!reader)
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
Tumblr media
You hate the mall. Too bright. Too loud. Too fast.
That day isn’t so bad. Tuesday, mid-morning. Most people are at work. Not you. Your part-time gig barely pays the bills, let alone keeps you busy. With that in mind, you shouldn’t be there to spend what little you have.
It’s for a good cause. It’s your grandmother’s birthday next week and you owe her. After all she’s done, you owe much more than just a measly mall-bough gift but it’s all you can manage right now. One day it will be better. One day you will be able to pay her back. At least you keep telling yourself that.
She paid for it all. Your way out, your lawyer, your apartment even. You can’t live in the senior’s community with her, that’s against the rules, but she parsed out some of her nest egg for the flat in the old brick building. For you. She’s the only one who ever did so much for you but what did you ever do for her?
It’s not for lack of trying, only your own poor decisions.
You enter the sparkling Swarovski store and keep your arms tight to your body, paranoid of breaking any of the numerous crystal pieces. You don’t know what she would like. It isn’t because you don’t know her well, you just don’t think she has much use for any of it. She’s always been painfully practical. That’s why you never wanted to ask her for help.
An associate startles you as she appears beside you in her sleek black pantsuit. She offers help but you get the sense she’s checking in, making sure your hands aren’t sneaking into your pockets. You make sure to keep them visible and move your satchel across your back. You tell her you’re just looking and blow out between your dry lips. Maybe a hoodie wasn’t the best choice.
It was meant to be a solution. You wanted to get out of your grandmother’s hair. How long had you been living with her? He was the answer to that. You thought so. You wanted to believe it. For ten years, you tried. He always spoiled it.
Then she had to bail you out anyway.
As you come to the sharp corner of a shelf, you’re startled by another customer. You hadn’t seen them when you came in or heard them. You glance at them fleetingly and turn your attention to the shelf of Mickey Mouse decorations. Definitely not those.
“Excuse me, sweetheart,” the man frightens you again as he nears and presses his hand to your back. He sidles by, and you dodge away from him, coming dangerously close to colliding with the display of birthstone necklaces.
You shake off the close brush and blink at the glass. You peek over at the man as he seems overly interested in a paper weight shaped like a dove. His mustache and sleek haircut make him look like he’s been plucked out of some gangster period piece.
The associate shifts from one side of the counter to the other. She’s watching you. You sigh. She still thinks you’re a thief. You shake your head and leave.
It’s not worth the trouble or the money. You can find something better. You know you could get your grandma a box of chocolates and a card and she’d say she’s happy. You don’t want to get her what works; you want to do something for someone. Something more than just be there.
You go down to Hallmark. It’s a similar atmosphere with a hint of warmness and more range in price. Still too much Disney and not enough variety. Your grandmother doesn’t need a rustic crate or a door sign with some snarky saying about wine.
You stop to look at cards. You can at least grab one of those. As you reach for one along the top row, another hand swipes it from your grasp. You back up and look at the culprit. It’s the same man as the Swarovski shop. Strange.
You recoil and scurry down the aisle towards the door. Is he following you? It could be a coincidence. Two stores. If he’s looking for a gift too, it makes sense.
You cross your arms and march quickly through the bright mall, the skylight glaring down at you. You walk in and out of a clothes shop. You don’t know where you’re going now. You’re frazzled.
You find your way to the As Seen on TV shop and meander around without intent. You’re at a loss. You’ll just end up at the bookstore like always. Another book for her birthday. Wowee.
She might like the salt rock light. You don’t know. Ugh.
It isn’t the gift. It isn’t her. It’s you. You’re indecisive. You're lost. Even if it was misery, you miss having someone to tell you what to do. Now you have to think and you do too much of that.
“Those are pretty cool,” a voice slices through your self-pity.
It’s the same man. Your eyes meet as you look up to see him. You blanch and open and close your mouth. The shop is so small, how hadn’t you heard him?
You retreat without a word. He must be following you. There’s no other explanation. What do you do? You can’t just lead him out of the mall, back to your building, but how can you divert him?
You find a bench down the next aisle of the mall, somewhere the associates in the vitamin store can see you. You’re safe there with people around. You look up and down, searching for the man and his mustache. Just a mother with her stroller.
You’re paranoid. Stupid, just like he said. It’s all in your head. You’re just fucked up. You don’t know how to live in this world. Not alone.
“Excuse me, ma’am,” the timbre tickles up the back of your spine and you twist to see the figure behind you. It’s an officer in uniform. “Mind if I ask ya something?”
You nod and blink. You don’t like the cops. You haven’t spoken to them since the night it all came crashing down. The flashing lights, the sirens, the questions. It’s all a haze yet it’s stamped into your psyche.
“Yes, sir,” you stand.
He’s got dark brown hair and bright blue eyes. His shoulders bear a slant of authority as he has his hands on his hips. He’s taller than you, but so is everyone. You look across the bench at him as his white shirt pokes out from under his leather jacket, his belly straining the fabric.
“You don’t gotta trouble yerself,” he shows his palm and reaches with his other hand to his belt, “I’m lookin’ for someone and was wonderin’ if maybe ya saw him.”
“Oh?” You crinkle your forehead.
“Got a pic somewhere,” he frees his phone from the clip on his belt and flicks his thumb over the screen, “here we are.”
He turns the cell toward you and you can’t help but make a face. The image is blurry but it’s definitely that same man. You look back the way you came and gulp.
“Reckon by that, you’ve seen him,” the officer says. “Sheriff Bodecker,” he introduces as he retracts his hand, “I’m doing an investigation. Mind if I ask some more questions?"
“Well, I... didn’t talk to him.”
“That’s fine,” he peers down in the same direction you did. The infant in its stroller begins to yawl and his cheek ticks, “how about you come out to my cruiser and we’ll do it there? Less ruckus?”
You purse your lips. You can’t really say no, he might think you know that guy, whoever he is, whatever he’s done. You shrug. You don’t have much to say. You’re sure it won’t be much of an interview.
“Okay,” you agree.”
“Is there anything else I can assist you with, Mr. Barnes?”
Your eyes flick up to meet bright blue ones as the man still stands in front of your desk.
A bit of unease begins to settle over you as he does nothing but stare for a long moment.
his gaze is bordering on penetrative the longer you hold his eye, and the apparent intimacy is just altogether unnerving.
Though, to say he’s the most off putting customer you’ve had today would be a lie.
In fact, he had been rather kind and patient as you’d helped him with his paperwork. A little quiet, but you couldn’t really say much for yourself, either. You never minded the silence, especially these past few months.
It seems the only time you get quiet these days is when you’re at work, or when James is sleeping, though that peace doesn’t come nearly as often as you wished it would.
At the thought of your baby, you break eye contact with Mr. Barnes to glance at the time. Just a few more minutes and you’d be off. As tired as you were these days, even just the thought of that chubby little face, those big gleaming eyes staring back at you with that silly little smile, made you want to get home as soon as you could.
You have been working shorter shifts since you came back to work, part time without worries thanks to the government assistance you’ve been provided along with the help your parent’s have been able to offer.
They wanted you to move back home after everything that happened, but you just couldn’t do it. Nice as it might be to have them around to look after James when you needed, paying for a sitter was well worth it knowing the anxieties and stress you’d be going through had you taken them up on moving back.
The sitter…shit. You needed to stop by the ATM on your way home today to get her money.
You clear your throat softly as you finish stapling his packet of paperwork together, ignoring the fact that he hadn’t responded to your previous question. You smiled at him as you handed the packet over, and only then did his gaze fall from your face.
“If there’s anything else, please don’t hesitate to reach out. My card is stapled right on top so if you need anything,” you trail off as he reads over the information on the business card.
“I will,” he says at last, letting his gaze float from the card, up your chest, and finally back to your eyes, “thank you.”
You feel the heat that flares across your skin from his stare but you do your best to ignore it. Again, he’s not the first one to have done the same exact thing. He was a lot less obvious with it though, especially compared to the sheriff when he’d come in this morning. The man was practically salivating all over you.
You knew this top was a bad idea but it had been your favorite before you’d gotten pregnant and you really didn’t think the difference in the way it hugged you would be that big. Unfortunately you were wrong. Your breasts were beyond full and the v neck cut alone would’ve had them on display enough, but the stressing buttons forced you to undo a few of them before they broke off completely, leaving you in an even deeper v.
Your cardigan had offered enough coverage as you kept it wrapped around you, but you couldn’t work while holding it shut the entire day.
You stood from your swiveling chair, pulling the cardigan close and tight once again as you did.
Mr. Barnes offered you a tired but true smile that you forced yourself to return once again before he turned and made his way to the exit.
You checked the time once more and seeing it was closing, you soon followed behind him, locking the door before you worked to quickly shut down for the day.
The temperature continued to rise in the small town of Knockemstiff but that wasn’t the only thing that was rising. Lee grumbled to himself in his office at the Sheriff’s Department, it wasn’t even noon yet and he could tell this was going to be a shit day. He was going to need something stronger than coffee when he got home later. The paper he was reading broadcasted the most recent rise in murders in Knockemstiff. The paper was also slandering his name and how he wasn’t doing a good job as Sheriff. He sighed  as he put the paper down and took another drink of his luke-warm coffee. He generally didn’t care what people thought of him but more recently, he was starting to care about what a certain individual thought of him, you. In fact, he wished he knew what you thought about the most recent events.
You had done what he asked of you and had accepted Jones’s offer. Meanwhile, he had kept true to his word and stationed his best men at your mother’s house. He also became curious about your father’s death and started to do some digging. Lee was just graduating from the police academy when his death occurred. Lee vaguely remembered meeting him before he was assigned to his field trainer. He sighed and just as he was about to get up and get some work done, his phone started to ring, causing him to groan. It was probably the press wanting to pick his brain about these most recent homicides, which he already told them he couldn’t release at this time. He took a deep breath before he finally answered the phone.
“Sheriff Bodecker.” He internally groaned when the person on the other line said that they were a reporter for the Knockemstiff Gazette.
He ran a hand down his face as he thought how he was right.
Tumblr media
You were sitting nervously in Jones’s office when he finally walked in, a smug smile on his face. It had been a few weeks of you passing along information, even if it were false, you couldn’t help but wonder if he bought any of it. As he walked over to his desk, you narrowed your gaze at him. He simply continued to smile at you in return as he pressed down the front of his suit before taking a seat in his luxurious, brown leather chair. You glared at him even more when he took his time writing a few things down before he even looked in your direction. The two of you stared at one another as a thick silence filled the room, the only thing that could be heard was the ticking of the clock.
“So, anything new to report?” Jones inquired as he folded his hands together and placed them on his desk.
You held his gaze for a moment before you spoke up, doing your best to keep your voice even. “He’s sending out a shipment up past Meade, this upcoming Friday morning.”
You held your breath as you watched Doug jot down the information. Doug then let out a sigh, you could practically hear the disappointment in it. ‘Shit, this couldn’t be good,’ you thought to yourself as you felt your stomach drop.
“Ya know, the last information you gave me was no good. You sent me to an EMPTY FUCKING WAREHOUSE!” Doug slammed his hand on the hardwood of his desk. The loud bang caused you to jump, not expecting this reaction from him. All you could do was watch as he took a deep breath and collected himself. “Now, would you care to explain?”
“I don’t know, they must’ve already cleared it out or maybe Lee gave me wrong info-”
“DON’T LIE TO ME!” Doug interrupted you and he slammed his hand on the desk again.
Before either of you could say anything else, a knock came from the door. You watched as Doug took another deep breath as he glanced towards the obnoxiously, loud ticking clock. Another knock sounded from the door, this time sounding a little more hurried than the previous one. A devilish smirk curled up onto the corner of his mouth as he finally answered.
“Come in.”
The door creaked open as it swung inward and your jaw nearly dropped at who you saw in the doorway. It was Lloyd Hansen, looking as smug as ever as he chewed on a toothpick. His cream colored pants cut off right at the ankle and his light pink and yellow striped collared polo shirt hugged him perfectly. His brown loafers scuffed across the hardwood floor as he strutted into the office. Your eyes followed him as he walked over to the drink cart and you didn’t miss the gun that stuck out from the waistband. When he turned around with a full glass in hand, he looked directly at you, eyeing you up and down as he did. A shiver ran down your spine as he looked at you, an uneasy feeling coming over you. Lloyd then walked over to the empty armchair that sat across from you and took a seat in it, he crossed his legs as he sat down and made himself comfortable. He smirked as he took a drink from his glass just as Doug spoke up again.
“I take it the two of you are already acquainted with each other?”
You rolled your eyes at Jones's remark causing Lloyd to chuckle.
“Oh yeah, well acquainted. I think sweetness here is probably one of my favorites, at least out of all of the women Lee has had. Caught a little preview of them fucking the other day when I went over to meet Lee to talk about some business. She’s quite the little screamer.” Lloyd answered before you could, he sent a wink in your directions as he took another drink.
You felt like you were going to be sick as you tried to cover yourself, folding your arms across your breasts.
“Well, this is awkward.” Doug commented as a thick tension rose in the room.
A heavy silence filled the room, this time, you were the one who broke the silence. You were over this meeting and you were quite ready to leave. “Are we done here?”
Doug started to click his tongue at your eagerness to leave. “You don’t even wanna know why I called him here?”
“To torture me even more?” Your voice was laced with sarcasm as you answered.
Lloyd chuckled at your boldness to use such a tone right now. “See, isn’t she just feisty? I love it.”
Doug chuckled at Lloyd’s comment before he spoke up again. “No, well, in a way. I want you to understand the gravity of this. Lloyd is here because since the information you gave me was no good last time, let’s just say he’s here as an enforcer. One word and he’ll take a hit out on your mother.”
Your stomach dropped at the threat as you glanced over at Lloyd. He had a smirk plastered on his lips before he hid it behind his glass as he took a drink. He sent you another wink which caused vile to rise up in your throat.
“No, please-”
“Then next time, give me something useful. I’d hate to have your only family member left killed.” Doug had cut you off, not giving you a chance to even try and plead.
All you could do was stare at him in disbelief, your mind started racing as you did. You watched as he took this moment to write down a few things in his notebook. When he was done, he folded his hands together before he placed them on his desk. A thick silence filled the room once more and you felt like you could vomit. After a few tense moments, Doug finally spoke up again.
“You can go now.”
It took everything in you not to bolt out of the office when he told you that. You’re not sure why but you gave him a slight nod before you stood up and left. As you left, you could feel a pair of eyes on you, you didn’t have to guess whose they were. You knew that if you were to turn around, you would meet Lloyd’s gaze. You tried to keep calm as you walked out the door before bolting down the hallway and out of the building and towards your Bel Air. When you got close enough to your car, your feet gave out and you practically skidded on the gravel ground. All of your emotions caught up to you and you couldn’t hold back the urge to vomit any longer. What you didn’t realize at the time was that you were being watched by Curt Goynes. He had stepped out to take a smoke break and as he watched you, his conflicting feelings returned. You didn’t deserve any of this, he thought to himself as he took one last hit of his cigarette before flicking the butt away and headed back inside.
Tumblr media
The drive home felt ridiculously long as your mind raced about everything that has happened recently. The radio played quietly as you thought about how you should’ve stayed in California, then just maybe you wouldn’t be in this mess. Right now though, you wanted nothing more than to see Lee right now but you knew that wouldn’t be an option right now. As you drove, you couldn’t help but feel hot, even with the cooler evening air blowing around you. When you finally pulled into the driveway, you threw the Bel Air into park and rushed inside. Rogers and Barnes were stationed outside the front door when you bolted past them, looks of concern formed on their faces before they quickly followed in after you. You were frantically searching the house as you called out for your mother but weren’t getting a response. Taking a few deep breaths, you placed your hands on your hips, you felt like you were going to be sick again. You thought back to Jones’s threat, surely he wouldn’t act on it so quickly?
“Miss, is everything alright?”
Your head snapped to the blonde as he spoke up but you didn’t say anything. A single tear slid down your cheek as you looked at Deputy Rogers. You’re not sure what Lee has told them so you decided to lie as you quickly wiped the tear away. You gave him a small smile as you spoke up but your voice gave you away as it wavered.
“Yeah, of course. Um, do you know where my mom went too?”
You watched as Deputy Barnes took a small step forward, his voice was calming as he spoke. “She just stepped out to the store for a bit, Deputy Wilson is with her. Are you sure everything’s alright?”
A big sigh of relief left your lips as Deputy Barnes explained. You nodded your head in understanding as you took another deep breath and let it out. “Okay, okay.”
“How about some tea to calm your nerves?” Deputy Rogers suggested, you could see the concern in his blue-green eyes as he looked at you.
“Yeah, I could go for some tea.” Your voice still wavered as you talked.
You then let Deputy Rogers lead you into the kitchen, the two of you were followed by Deputy Barnes. You were about to get the kettle ready for tea when Rogers stepped in and took over. He had noticed how shaky your hand was and thought it would be better if he did it.
“Here, let me. You have a seat, alright?” The blonde then took the kettle from you.
You took a seat on one of the bar stools at the kitchen peninsula before you rested your chin in the palm of your hand. As Rogers got the tea ready, you stared off into space, a heavy silence filled the kitchen. The two deputies exchanged looks of worry as you remained silent, when you usually made conversation with them. Deputy Rogers nodded to his partner causing Barnes to speak up, breaking the silence.
“Hey, is everything alright, sweetheart?” The brunette inquired as he arched an eyebrow, taking a seat next to you.
“Hmm? Oh yeah, sorry, I just have a lot on my mind is all.” You gave him a small smile as you spoke, you weren’t quite sure what Lee had told them.
Before either one of you could say anything, you heard the front door open and you nearly bolted out of the kitchen when you heard your mother’s voice. When you reached your mother, you immediately embraced her and pulled her into a tight hug. A sigh of relief escaped you as you held onto her. Her voice was soft as she spoke up, she rubbed your back as she did so.
“Honey, is everything alright?”
You pulled apart to look at her, a small smile formed on your face. “Yeah, of course. How about I help you with the groceries and then I cook us all something to eat?”
“Sounds nice my little Spirit.” Your mother agreed as the two of you took the groceries to the kitchen.
Tumblr media
A few days had passed and all you wanted to do was to see Lee. Your emotions were high and he was the only one who could calm you down right now. You were thankful when he called and asked you to come over for the next few days. He had wicked you up in his black, Ford Thunderbird and you were practically in his lap as soon as you got into his car with a small overnight bag. Lee didn’t mind the neediness though, he had missed you just as much and it felt nice to be wanted in this way. When the two of you got back to his house, the two of you didn’t last five minutes before clothes were being removed and flung all over the house. Lee had you pinned against the wall in the entryway as he nipped and sucked on your neck. His hands had a firm grip on your waist as he squeezed them, he couldn’t have been more thankful for the fact that you were in a dress today. As Lee continued his attack on your neck with his mouth and teeth, he had started to grind his hips into yours causing you to moan when you felt how hard he was.
You made quick work to get his belt undone, you needed to feel him inside of you, you were desperate and honestly, you didn’t care. You had missed him and by the way he was acting, you could tell that he missed you as well. If he wanted to fuck you right here in the front hall, you weren’t going to deny him that. When you finally had his pants pulled down, you immediately started to stroke his large member. He practically growled in your ear when you started to stroke him. The brunette pulled apart for a brief moment and as he did so, he stared deep into your eyes. An intensity filled the room as the two of you stared at each other. Lee then crashed his lips into yours, kissing you passionately, his tongue instantly entered your mouth and you couldn’t help but moan and welcomed the intrusion. His tongue easily dominated yours and as he swirled his tongue around yours, he ripped off your panties as did so. He teased the entrance of your weeping cunt with the tip of his cock and he let out an animalistic sound with how wet you were for him.
“Is this all for me, doll?” His voice was deeper than normal and filled with lust, it sent a shiver down your spine and all you could do was moan. You had started to nod your head but his free hand flew up to your neck and he put a firm grip on it, which caused you to stop. He started to click his tongue at you before he spoke up again with the same deep voice. “You know the rules doll, now use your big girl words.”
Lee had stilled himself as he waited for you to answer but he kept his cock right at your entrance. You swallowed the big lump that had formed in your throat before you could speak up again.
“Y-yes, it’s all for you.”
A smirk curled up on the corner of his mouth as you said those words to him. “Good girl.”
Lee then pushed the head of his cock through your wet folds. You arched into him and moans started to slip out of you as he entered you. You could feel every bit of him as he suddenly slammed into you causing you to cry out in pleasure. He let you adjust to his large size before he started thrusting his hips, ramming his cock inside of you. Every thrust from Lee caused a moan to fall from your lips. He still had you pinned to the front entryway wall and the fact that someone could walk in and find you in this state only excited you more. The sounds that you and Lee were making filled the hall as Lee continued to pound into you. You could feel yourself getting close to your climax as Lee lifted a leg and you wrapped it around his waist. He pressed his forehead against yours and you could feel his hot breath fan across your face.
“Doll, I need you to cum, shit.” Lee said in between heavy breaths before he started to rub circles onto your clit with his thumb.
Your body started to shudder as your orgasm approached and your words came out breathless. “Don’t stop, please, I’m so close.”
“Fuck, I can feel it, doll.” Lee practically growled as he doubled his efforts to make sure you got your release before he did.
It didn’t take much longer for your entire body to start spasming around Lee. Lee held onto you tightly as he worked you through your orgasm. Your vision went white as he continued to fuck into you, you were on cloud nine and you didn’t want to come down. When Lee’s hips started to falter, you could tell he was getting close to his own release. Lee grunted as he continued to snap his hips at a fast rate. He took one of your breasts into his large hand and squeezed it with a firm grip before he plucked on your nipple. A loud cry of pleasure escaped him as he reached his orgasm and spilled deep inside of you. He stayed like that as he tried to catch his breath before he slowly started to pull out of you. You feel him gently cup your cheek as you begin to come back down from your orgasm, you couldn’t help but lean into his touch as a small smile formed on your lips.
“You with me doll?” Lee asked, his tone gently as he started to caress your cheek with his thumb.
You nodded your head as you spoke. “Y-yes.”
“Come on, let’s get you some rest.”
Lee then scooped you into his arms and carried you bridal style to his bedroom. He cleaned you up a little bit before he tucked you in and watched as you fell asleep. A small smile crept onto his lips as he sat there for a moment. He still couldn’t believe that someone as perfect as you wanted to be with someone as devilish as himself. He brushed some fallen hair out of your face before he got up to take a shower to clean himself.
When you woke up, you noticed how chilly it was in Lee’s bedroom without him in there. You stretched out your arms before you climbed out of bed and you put on one of Lee’s white t-shirts. It may have been a bit big on you but you didn’t care about that, especially since it provided you comfort. When you were satisfied after you cleaned yourself up, you went to find Lee. A small smile curled up onto your lips when you found him working in his office. You leaned against the doorframe as you watched him work and just as you were about to speak up, his phone rang. He answered his phone quickly but as he did, he glanced over at you and motioned you to come over. You quietly walked over to him and as he listened to the person on the phone, he pulled you into his lap. You curled into him as he started to rub your back, you enjoyed moments like this with him. You planted small, soft kisses on his neck as he talked on the phone and you did your best not to eavesdrop.
“Alright, thank you Gatsby, I’ll be right there.” Lee finished the call by hanging up the phone and letting out a deep sigh.
You planted another kiss on his neck before you spoke up. “Is everything alright honey?”
Lee held you close before he looked down at you and you could tell something serious was going on just by looking into his eyes.
“Would you hate it if I ran into town? Gatsby has some information that could be beneficial.” Lee glanced between your eyes to get a read on you, as far as he could tell, you didn’t seem to be upset.
“Only if you promise me to bring back some chocolate, I’ve been craving it a lot lately. I think at work the other day I had two chocolate milkshakes.” You gave him your best puppy dog eyes and pout, hoping to persuade him.
Lee chuckled at your request before a smile spread across his face. “Of course, anything for you doll.”
You gave Lee a peck on the cheek before climbing off of his lap so that he could get up. When Lee stood up, he finally noticed what you were wearing and a smirk curled up on the corner of his mouth as he eyed you up and down.
“Is that one of my shirts, doll?”
Lee started to walk towards you, as if you were his prey, and when he was close enough he placed his hands on your hips. He looked down at you as if you were about to be his last meal.
“I hope that’s not a problem.” You looked up at him with a slight smirk of your own.
“Of course not, doll. It looks better on you anyway.”
Lee then crashed his lips into yours and he instantly stuck his tongue into your mouth. You couldn’t help but moan as he quickly dominated your tongue with his. When the two of you finally pulled apart for ait, Lee rested his forehead against yours as he took a minute to catch his breath. He gave you a soft peck on your nose before placing one on your forehead.
“Such a tease, doll. I’ll try no to be too long but you never know with Gatsby.” Lee gave your hips a firm squeeze.
“I’ll be here waiting when you get back.” You gave Lee a small peck on the lips.
“A tease, a menacing tease. Behave for me while I’m gone.”
Lee then gave you a quick peck on the cheek before he left the office. You watched him as he left and let out a sigh of content. You stood there for a moment before you decided to freshen up.
Tumblr media
Lee walked into the Tecumseh Bar and a few patrons milled around as he walked over to his normal booth. He arched an eyebrow when he saw Gatsby sitting in his booth with a black man he didn’t recognize. When Gatsby noticed Lee, he got out of the booth to greet him with his usual, firm handshake.
“Lee, buddy, good to see ya ol’ sport. I would like to introduce you to Curt Goynes and boy does he have some information for you.” Gatsby explained as he led Lee over to the booth.
“Sheriff Bodecker.” Curt stuck out his hand for Lee to shake as Lee was sitting down.
Lee was skeptical of this Curt guy but eventually, he gave in and took the man’s hand. Before either man spoke, one of the waitresses brought over drinks for them. Lee gave her a short nod as a thank you before he took a sip of the whiskey neat he was brought and waited for her to leave before he spoke up.
“So, what seems to be this important matter of business I called for?” Lee glanced between the two men that sat across from him as he waited for an answer.
Curt studied Lee before he spoke up. “Jones is getting restless, he’s planning something big. You need to stop him.”
Lee nodded his head in understanding. “What do you want in return for this information?”
“Immunity. And I’ll leave town, head back home to Detroit.” Curt answered curtly and with a straight face.
“Can you tell me anymore about this plan?” Lee questioned as he considered Curt’s request.
“Only that it’s going to flatten Knockemstiff, that’s all I know right now but as soon as I know more, I’ll let you know.” Curt answered before taking a drink of his own whiskey.
Lee narrowed his eyes at Curt over his glass as he took a slow, long drink of his whiskey. He sucked his teeth for a moment as he thought about how odd this whole meeting was. “Why are you giving me this information? If Jones ever finds out, he’ll probably kill you.”
“I know that, but look, I want out. I have a family back home and this whole thing is messed up.” Curt took another drink of his whiskey, finishing it off before he nodded at Gatsby. Gatsby got up to let Curt out of the booth and just as Curt was leaving, he stopped right next to Lee. “I’ll be in touch.”
Once Curt had left, Lee ran a hand down his face before he polished off the rest of his whiskey. Gatsby looked at his business partner intently as he took a seat across from him.
“What are you gonna do ol’ sport?”
Lee didn’t say anything, he simply got out of the booth with a grunt and left the bar. When he got into his Thunderbird, he pinched the bridge of his nose and let out a heavy sigh. “Shit.”
Lee took a moment to try and collect himself before starting up his car. When the radio came on, the tail end of a Johnny Cash song was playing. Lee recognized it almost immediately as he turned the radio up, Cash’s deep, gravelly voice filled the car. He started to drive off as the song played.
“....Go tell that long tongue liar… Go and tell that midnight rider… Tell the rambler, the gambler, the back biter… Tell ‘em that God’s cut you down… Tell ‘em that God’s gonna cut you down…”
The next morning was just like any other day in Knockemstiff. People got up and got ready for work or whatever they had planned for the day. The temperature didn’t seem to be quite as scorching as it had been and it had been a week since the last murder. Lee pouted as you got ready to go have lunch with your mom, he was practically begging for you not to go. You simply let out a small laugh and kissed him goodbye, you were already a few minutes late due to his neediness that morning. When you arrived at the diner, your mother was getting out of her car and you smiled at her when she waved over at you. You had looked away for a brief moment to shut the car off and to grab your purse when a loud gun shot rang out. You looked over to where your mom was and the sight horrified you. Blood trickled down from the center of her forehead, she stood there for a moment before she collapsed to the ground.
You bolted out of your car, not caring if the shooter was still around. Your only thoughts were getting to your mom but before you could, Ari had rushed out of the diner and he grabbed ahold of you. You tried to fight against him but he was too strong, he did his best to hold you up but as you collapsed, he slowly bent down on his knees as he continued to hold you. Tears had begun to stream down your cheeks as you cried out for your mom. The whole scene was gut wrenching for the people in the diner as they stared and watched. Shock was written all over their faces as they tried to comprehend what happened. Darcy was in the middle of calling for police as she felt her own tears begin to form. The only thing that could be heard throughout the street were your sobs. Your vision had started to blur the more you cried, eventually you found yourself leaning into Ari as you grieved for your mother.
