this one took a While. i was originally going to make it more realistic, because i like making my dolls look similar to the actual sprite/art/whatever of what i’m trying to make. i was thinking about like… adding toes, adding a sort of jointed look to the limbs, and it got so complicated i lost motivation to finish it for a good while. but then i came back and decided to just finish it and aim for cute over realistic, and here we are. i honestly like it more than my slugcat plush tbh chdjjs the less ‘accurate’ design makes it better to cuddle with.

my biggest gripe with this is the tail, because i finished the body first and then sewed the tail on afterward. i did try to attach it as close to the thickest part around as possible to minimize the seam, but :/ there’s only so much you can do about it, i suppose. it’s not too bad though, and i do like the tapering on the tail tip.

the frills are a little awkward, but they’re growing on me. i was originally going to do the bobbly frill tail, like the ones a lot of blue lizards have, because it’s my favorite tail frill and i think it’s very pretty. but then i finished the antennae, and i realized those bobble frills would be essentially the same thing, and they’d look weird. frankly the antennae are a bit awkward as well, but i tried my best, and i didn’t want to do it for the tail frills too. so i swapped to a different kind; i’m honestly not sure what to call this one, i think i just grabbed a random reference picture from somewhere. but i’m not too particular about it. it kind of makes the lizard look a little fishy, almost?? the slapping sound its tail makes reminds me of such anyway aksjdkas

leezard is very big and good to cuddle with, so overall i’m happy with the result. it’s nice to be a little simpler with the design sometimes.

Although I see more Steven Tyler with Grand Guignol despite the director admitting she based him on Bowie...and Leezar is intentionally based on Bowie and Jareth as well as the White Queen of Wonderland is based on Bowie...

I'm not surprised by this at all...
