"I'm sorry I couldn't save you. At least like this, you'll have another chance, even if you won't remember me."
---
Sometimes I think about the possibility of Tiarnan failing to save Moirin, and while I absolutely want him to succeed...the angst is very dramatic and fun to draw.

What are your thoughts on Leon's campaign in RE6? Like his characterization and all that? i know that's kind of a broad question but aaahhh i couldn't think of something super specific.
I actually love Leon's campaign in RE6 and that's because of his characterization in it. It's actually the game that made me fall in love with Leon as a character, believe it or not lol.
RE6 is the first time we get to see an older, more world-weary Leon — just shy of 15 years post-Raccoon City and living a life entirely different than the one he thought he would — and there's a certain softness to him that isn't present in the games that proceeded it. One that accompanies maturity, reflective of us seeing him well into his career as a federal agent, but one that also feels very palpably pensive and somber.
Honestly, I feel like a lot of what makes Leon who he is really gets highlighted throughout the game. We see his apprehension to kill someone he cares about; he sets aside the life-or-death logic he's been taught to have because this is different. We see him repeatedly going out of his way to help those in need (one of the best moments of good characterization in the entire campaign for me is when Helena says they don't have time to help the university employee find his daughter and Leon sternly replies with "We're making the time"). We see his self-sacrificial nature. We see his constant use of sarcasm to detract from the direness of a given situation and his feelings towards it. We see him mourn the loss of absolute strangers, but not process the loss of Adam or Ada. We see his refusal to admit that he's not okay on multiple occasions. We the extent of his kindness, his patience, his tenacity.
Perhaps most notably, we see his willingness to give people the benefit of the doubt through his relationship with Helena — something that is personally one of my favorite aspects of Leon's character. Despite his strong sense of justice, despite having absolutely no reason to trust Helena, he sets his personal feelings regarding Adam's death aside to hear her out. He follows her blindly throughout the city, clearly resentful of her and getting increasingly aggravated at being strung along, but still continues to follow her. He wants to believe she's not as guilty as she appears to be. He still wants to believe in the goodness of others, even when the world has repeatedly shown him the extent of others' cruelty.

I’m so glad I didn’t watch any gameplay of Resident Evil 6 because it’s fricking wild to see with my own eyes
