Hope we're having fun with the Sylus lockdwon. I don't know why this is what's happening to me this week but might as well be I guess.

in light of Shawn Levy saying we might get some news soon i'm actually curious how long it will take until we'll see a real teaser this time around. especially when comparing it to the s4 production timeline because we're already 6 month into filming which is generally rumoured to take about a year +/- a month or so given what actors have been saying. that'd already be halfway (not including the post production obviously)

and if s5 marketing is going to work in any way similarly to s4 then we're really close to actually seeing footage at this point

the s4 production was obviously rough since it went on lockdown after shooting for 1 month. so they filmed february and then only started back up in october. but the big teasers they officially dropped were:

a teaser of Hopper in the Russian prison a few weeks into shooting before the lockdown happened (they really wanted everyone to know that Hopper was coming back in advance, fighting the death retcon out of nowhere allegations before they can even drop lmao)

month 9 after filming start (i'm not counting the months they were on pause due to the lockdwon here) they dropped an almost 2 minute teaser of NINA with out of context still shots of the blood during the massacre showing up on the overhead screens. also another minute long clip montage of the rainbow room in the past with Brenner, El and the children

month 12, again, NINA related teaser with El waking up with her head shaved

month 13 they drop a Creel house teaser with the Creels in the 50s there but also the present day kids breaking in

month 14 they officially drop all 9 episode titles in video format

month 14 California teaser (basically the biggest teaser pre trailer drop where they show shots that happen to the Cali people from basically all episodes)

and then the final trailer in month 20, one month before Volume 1 actually dropped

so essentially after the 9 month point of production they had enough material to start dropping teasers every other month. (i'm also not counting smaller teasers like things they dropped on instagram or twitter here btw, those obviously also dropped occasionally, i'm talking about the real s4 footage teasers they officially dropped on youtube here)

given we're already 6 months into active shooting there's a good chance we'll get to see some actual footage of s5 by september at the latest

i'm curious if they'll drop teasers sooner later or around the same time period this time around. everything people have said makes it seem like s5 will have pretty extensive VFX done so it might take them longer to work on shots. but they might also drop something sooner to smooth over the hiatus

Been like overcoming my sense of burden by pestering most of the abandoned wip authors I know who have blogs on this website. Damn it if we lose their works!!

Yeaaaah! Having the flue during a pandemic and a lockdown is definetly the greatest idea I ever had so far... haha.
