Stuck

I always wondered that why in spite of me thinking I deserved more,

I was stuck. 

I was stuck because I didn't grow. I am the same person 20 years back inside but expecting my outside situation to change. I was expecting my outside life to change to make changes inside. Sadly it seems Universe doesn't work that way

I HOLD THE ANSWER

I’m going to be quite frank in my statement that this last week has been spiritually, emotionally, and mentally exhausting for me.  I have also learned many lessons.  For one, I need to just trust myself.  I had been looking at a local shaman training for over a year.  I kept deciding not to attend for an array of reasons.  A month or so ago, I talked myself into going.  I started to feel some hesitation and apprehension about attending this workshop, but I went anyway.  The first day was wonderful and beautiful because we were at a park seated under the trees. I love trees, so that made me happy.  In retrospect, I realize that it was the trees that made me feel happy and wonderful, NOT the training!  If anything, the best part of this workshop was meeting those trees.

As the workshop progressed, it became more and more uncomfortable for me. I should have just honored my truth and left.  Instead, I stayed because I had paid for the workshop, so I wanted to complete it.  When the workshop was over, I bolted out of there as quickly as possible.  I felt spiritually, emotionally, and mentally drained. I ended up going home and just crying.  I couldn’t believe that an event that I thought would be so beneficial to my spiritual growth actually had quite the opposite effect!  It’s almost a week later and I am still recuperating from that experience.

Today, I spoke to my mentor. This was my first opportunity to tell her about what happened at this training.  She told me that she felt like my energy was being ciphened at the training which is why I am experiencing such fatigue and sadness now.  She also felt like the workshop was  a test for me in many ways.  She thought I was being tested in speaking my truth in multiple ways.  For one, she felt I should have honored my feelings and left when the drama began with a classmate.  She also felt that I should have spoken my truth about not feeling comfortable allowing others to touch me.  The continual touching is how my energy was drained out of me and whatever else was transferred onto me.  I agree with her.  This was definitely a huge learning experience.

Another thing that I learned after the training workshop and after speaking to my mentor is that I just need to just trust myself.  I constantly find myself seeking out teachers who end up telling me things I already know.  I mean I think it’s great to keep seeking knowledge, but to expect another person to provide me with the key to my success and happiness is not going to happen. I must continue to look within myself to find the answers that I need.  Yes, other people may be able to provide me with a little piece of the puzzle here and there, but ultimately, I’m the one who has to put the puzzle together.  

Now, I have to pick myself up, connect with my spirit guides, and the Universe, and keep on walking.

Đạt-ma ngồi yên lặng xoay mặt vào vách không thèm ngó ngàng đến. Do đó, Thần Quang phải đứng đợi ngoài cửa, gặp lúc tuyết rơi đầy trời, ngập tới đầu gối, mà gương mặt Thần Quang vẫn thản nhiên. Đạt-ma thấy sư đúng là người thành kính cầu pháp, mới mở miệng hỏi : - Ông đứng lâu trong tuyết, mong cầu việc gì ? Thần Quang thưa : - Xin Hòa thượng mở cửa cam lồ, rộng độ chúng sanh. - Diệu đạo vô thượng của chư Phật, dù nhiều kiếp tinh tấn, hay làm được việc khó làm, hay nhẫn được việc khó nhẫn mà còn không thể đến. Huống là, ông dùng chút công lao nhỏ này mà cầu được pháp chơn thừa sao? Thần Quang nghe nói như thế, liền lấy dao chặt đứt cánh tay trước mặt Đạt-ma, tỏ lòng thiết tha cầu Đạo. Ngài biết đây là bậc pháp khí bèn dạy: - Chư Phật cầu đạo, vì pháp quên thân, nay ông chặt tay muốn cầu cái gì ? Thần Quang thưa : - Đệ tử tâm không an, xin Tổ dạy pháp an tâm. Đạt-ma nói : - Đem tâm ra ta an cho ! Thần Quang ngạc nhiên nói : - Con tìm tâm không được. Đạt-ma cười mỉm, nói : - Ta đã an tâm cho ông rồi. Thần Quang nhơn đây được khế ngộ. Ngài Đạt-ma liền đồi thên Thần Quang là Huệ Khả và truyền Y bát kế thừa làm vị Tổ 29 của Thiền Tông. Lời bình : Phiền não của chúng ta vốn không, tội nghiệp cũng không có tự tánh, tâm thức lặng lẽ, không có chỗ vọng tưởng động niệm, đó là chánh giác, là Phật đạo. Giải thoát và an lạc Hành trình thiền quán là để đạt tới giải thoát và an lạc. Giải thoát và an lạc là hai yếu tố liên hệ mật thiết với nhau: có giải thoát thì có an lạc, giải thoát càng lớn thì an lạc càng lớn. Nhưng giải thoát và an lạc không phải là những gì xa vời mà bạn chỉ có thể đạt được sau một thời gian thực tập lâu dài, như mười năm, hai mươi năm hay ba mươi năm. Thực tập thiền quán, bạn có thể đạt tới giải thoát và an lạc ngay trong giời phút bạn đang thực tập, dù mức độ giải thoát và an lạc còn chỉ là khiêm nhường. Tuy khiêm nhường, nhưng những yếu tố giải thoát và an lạc ấy là nền tảng cho những giải thoát và an lạc lớn lao hơn. Thực tập thiền quán là tập quán sát và hiểu sâu được vào lòng sự vật. Nhờ cái thấy và cái hiểu đó mà bạn đạt tới giải thoát và an lạc. Những giận hờn, lo lắng và sợ hãi của bạn chẳng hạn đều đang làm cho bạn khổ đau. Muốn giải thoát chúng, bạn phải quán sát bản chất của chúng. Bản chất của chúng đều là sự u mê. Tên nó là vô minh. Tên nó là mờ ám. Tên nó là sự thiếu sáng suốt. Chìa khóa của giải thoát vì vậy là sự đập tan u mê, là thể nhập vào lòng của thực tại để có một cái biết trực tiếp và chân thực về thực tại. Cái biết này không phải là cái biết của tri thức suy luận. Cái biết này phải là cái biết trực tiếp của kinh nghiệm, của thực chứng. Ví dụ khi ta hiểu lầm một người bạn chẳng hạn, ta giận hờn và vì giận hờn ta khổ đau. Quán sát thực tại cho sâu sắc, bạn đánh tan được sự hiểu lầm đó và những khổ đau của bạn tan biến. Bạn tức khắc có sự an lạc và giải thoát.
