A freebie for all you DIY #ceramics #3dprinter people. This is my extruder tip. It's a #luerlock to 1/4" MIP unit. Costs under $10. . . It turns out, the luer lock tip fits perfectly into a 3/8" OD tube compression fitting (I know, right!). So, just get yourself a luer lock syringe (if you get one for 3cc, you won't have to shave the shoulder down to fit in the nut), cut off the tip (make sure you keep the shoulder, which is what will keep the luer lock from sliding out), and place it on the nut where you would normally put the metal sleeve. How To Select Syringes And Needles

We all recognize a syringe, with the needle protruding from a long plastic body. A lot of people will never forget this childhood horror. Even if you've dreaded needles as a child but it is quite likely that you'll have to keep a supply of syringes to administer the prescription drug. You might need an inventory of needles in case you or your family members develop an illness. It is important to let go of your fear and master the use of this simple medical device. It is essential to know that not all syringes needles pack devices are created equal. Different purposes need different designs.

Different kinds of Syringes

Syringes are available in many different designs and varieties. They are usually disposable, and some have needles that are attached, or no needle at all. The amount of medicine the syringe can hold will determine the size. Below is a diagram of the parts of the siringe.

Selecting Syringes

The quantity of the medicine and the desired flow of pressure will determine the kind of syringe you choose. The quantity is indicated on the barrel in milliliters or centimeters. Both measurements are equivalent in volume. One cc is the same as 1 mL. The larger dosages of medicine will require larger syringes. The need for less pressure also calls for a larger dimension. The usage of a syringe for injections, with medical tubing or to provide irrigation are all elements in the selection of a syringe. The most popular type is the U-100 insulin syringe. The last type of tip is a syringe that has an attached needle that is permanently. These types of devices are commonly employed to minimize the amount of waste from medications. They are also disposable after use, making cleanup simple. The syringe is widely used for insulin and tuberculin injections.

Selecting Needles

Needles have a basic design with a hollow center, sharp point, and a hub which is attached to the Syringe. There are numerous lengths of needle shafts, measured in inches. Guage sizes determine the thickness or diameter of the needle. To help you cut or puncture needle tips they usually have beveled edges. Most needles are equipped with caps to safeguard the person who is caring for them during the transition between removal of the package and needle usage.

The criteria to choose the right needle has three main considerations: length, gauge, and use. The gauge of the needle is the measurement of the needle's width or diameter. The length is measured from the hub up to the point of the needle. The needle's length to reach the injection site is measured in inches. These injection depths include subcutaneous, intradermal and muscle.

The Needle Gauge
