— A STUDENT’S GUIDE TO HOGWARTS CLASSES

˚ ✦ . . ˚ . . ✦ ˚ . ★⋆. ࿐࿔
FOR EVERY CLASS . always sit where you can see (or avoid) the professor’s mood swings. bring a spare quill, and for Merlin’s sake, read all instructions on the board
★⋆. ASTRONOMY
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR SINESTRA . she’s chill if you stay quiet. don’t interrupt her passionate stargazing rants, or she’ll assign extra homework on constellations literally no one’s ever heard of
HOMEWORK . star charts and essays on planetary motion. tedious but straightforward—accuracy is everything.
TIPS TO EXCEL . memorize constellations and learn how to cast Lumos just dim enough so that you don’t blind everyone during late-night pitch black lessons
EXTRA CREDIT . spot and track a rare celestial event, like a comet. (bonus points if you can pronounce its Latin name to Sinestra without choking)
AVOID MISHAPS . never mix up Mars and Mercury on your chart—you’ll be doomed in astronomy and divination
★⋆. CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR HAGRID . show genuine interest in his creatures, even if they look like they could eat you (because they definitely could)
HOMEWORK . research magical creature habits and write about their care. watch out—he loves long essays (he can basically make students write books about his favorite subject for him)
TIPS TO EXCEL . always wear dragonhide gloves and boots that cover your ankles. treat the creatures and Hagrid with respect—he’ll notice
EXTRA CREDIT . help feed or clean up after the creatures during your free periods or after class. it’s messy, but he appreciates it immeasurably
AVOID MISHAPS . never, ever call a Blast-Ended Skrewt “gross” within his earshot
★⋆. CHARMS
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR FLITWICK . he’s sweet but sharp. pay attention, or you’ll be called on mid-yawn to demonstrate something tricky.
HOMEWORK . practice spells at home. if your wandwork looks like you’re conducting a dance recital, you’re doing it wrong.
TIPS TO EXCEL . focus on precise wand movements and pronunciation—no “swish and flick” means no charm
EXTRA CREDIT . perform an original charm in class and explain how you invented it (hint: slap a name on something flashy, and ramble about how Flitwick’s class gave you the “tools to do it”)
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t use charms on your classmates (no matter how obnoxious they are) unless you want detention for “unsanctioned spellcasting”
★⋆. DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS
DEALING WITH THE PROFESSOR . varies wildly year to year. if they’re twitchy, don’t ask questions. if they’re confident, challenge them slightly—they love it
HOMEWORK . spell practice, theoretical essays on defensive strategies, and (sometimes) practical exams.
TIPS TO EXCEL . master shield charms early—Protego is your bread and butter. always watch your back in “surprise” practical tests (the surprise could be a curse aimed at your back)
EXTRA CREDIT . propose new defense tactics for obscure threats like Lethifolds or hinkypunks, it shows interest in the less ‘cool’ aspects of the dark arts
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t hex yourself in class while demonstrating a jinx. you won’t get in trouble. but it’s embarrassing.
★⋆. DIVINATION
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR TRELAWNEY . just nod and act fascinated. she’s happier when you look like you believe her
HOMEWORK . dream journals, tea-leaf sketches, and guesses at what the stars are “telling” you.
TIPS TO EXCEL . make up dramatic predictions that sound poetic. extra marks for impending doom towards a classmate
EXTRA CREDIT . spot a “true vision” (or just pretend you did). a fainting act doesn’t hurt
AVOID MISHAPS . never laugh at her predictions, even if they sound ridiculous—she’ll doom you for life (and you never know what fate holds)
★⋆. HERBOLOGY
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR SPROUT . show some love for plants, and she’ll adore you. don’t sass her or underestimate how dangerous some herbs are
HOMEWORK . care guides for magical plants, essays on uses for their parts, and detailed sketches
TIPS TO EXCEL . be gentle with the plants, even the ones with attitudes. also, if you’re prone to daydreaming, please keep a note of which vines bite
EXTRA CREDIT . cultivate a rare magical plant and present its uses in class (good luck)
AVOID MISHAPS . always wear gloves when handling anything spiky, slimy, or screaming
★⋆. HISTORY OF MAGIC
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR BINS . he doesn’t even care if you’re awake, but it helps if you look like you’re taking notes
HOMEWORK . endless essays on goblin rebellions, giant wars, and other events you’ll most definitely forget by next term
TIPS TO EXCEL . use mnemonic devices to remember key dates. start essays early—he grades on length
EXTRA CREDIT . find obscure historical details to add to essays. mentioning “primary sources” makes you look smart, and Binns doesn’t typically look into it further
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t doodle in your notes too obviously—he might drone on even more if he catches you
★⋆. POTIONS
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR SNAPE . know your ingredients and don’t speak unless spoken to. follow his instructions perfectly and try to look invisible. or he’ll eviscerate you
HOMEWORK . brewing practice and essays on potion theory. if you mess up the potion, he’ll expect twice the length in your essay
TIPS TO EXCEL . re-chop your ingredients before class, and try to do other prep work. Snape hates inefficiency
EXTRA CREDIT . create a new potion under his supervision. (warning: he will make you test it.)
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t ever blame Snape or his instructions if something explodes. just accept it and clean up quietly
★⋆. TRANSFIGURATION
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR MCGONAGALL . she’s strict but fair. do your work well, and she’ll respect you; slack off, and she’ll make you wish you hadn’t
HOMEWORK . spell diagrams, written explanations, and frequent wandwork practice
TIPS TO EXCEL . precision and focus are key. get creative, but don’t try anything too wild without permission
EXTRA CREDIT . demonstrate a flawless human-to-animal transfiguration (with her approval)
AVOID MISHAPS . never let your transfigured objects escape—chasing a hopping teacup through the halls is not fun, and you’ll never hear the end of it
★⋆. ARITHMANCY
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR VECTOR . she’s sharp and no-nonsense, but she’s got a soft spot for students who genuinely try. don’t show up without your charts; she’ll notice
HOMEWORK . endless numerical equations and analysis of magical patterns. expect to translate runes into numbers and vice versa
TIPS TO EXCEL . understand how numbers relate to magic—this isn’t just math, it’s magic theory in disguise. double-check your work; one wrong digit can tank your entire assignment
EXTRA CREDIT . present a new numerological correlation, like how the number “7” might affect potion brewing. bonus if it’s creative but realistic
AVOID MISHAPS . never guess at a solution—Professor Vector will spot laziness in seconds. keep your workspace neat, or the equations will haunt you
★⋆. ANCIENT RUNES
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR BABBLING . she’s patient and incredibly smart, but don’t come to class unprepared. misreading a rune will make her launch into a lecture about “respecting the symbols.”
HOMEWORK . translate ancient texts, decipher rune sequences, and write essays on magical etymology. sometimes includes carving your own runes for practice.
TIPS TO EXCEL . memorize the rune meanings and their magical properties—flashcards help. pay attention to detail; even a tiny line can change the meaning of a rune
EXTRA CREDIT . create your own rune sequence that produces a magical effect and explain its purpose. creative runework always gets top marks
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t mix up Nordic and Celtic runes—they have very different contexts, and Professor Babbling will lecture you for days
★⋆. MUGGLE STUDIES
DEALING WITH PROFESSOR BURBAGE . she’s enthusiastic and loves students who ask questions, even obvious ones. if you show respect for Muggle ingenuity, you’re golden
HOMEWORK . research papers on Muggle inventions and their impact, as well as practical exercises like identifying Muggle objects
TIPS TO EXCEL . don’t overthink it—Muggles live without magic, but they’re surprisingly clever. show curiosity and avoid using the word “primitive”
EXTRA CREDIT . present a Muggle artifact and explain how it works. bonus points if you demonstrate something functional, like a can opener or a bicycle pump
AVOID MISHAPS . don’t call electricity “the Muggle version of Lumos” unless you want a 10-minute tangent about how they’re completely different
★⋆. FLYING
DEALING WITH MADAM HOOCH . she’s strict but fair; listen to her instructions, and she’ll let you have some fun. mess around, and you’ll be grounded faster than you can say “Quidditch”
HOMEWORK . practicing broom control outside of class and writing essays about famous flyers or the mechanics of flight
TIPS TO EXCEL . focus on balance and broom grip—this isn’t about speed (yet). always stretch before class; cramps mid-air are embarrassing and painful
EXTRA CREDIT . show off advanced flying techniques, like tight turns or broom dives (but only if you’re really confident). bonus for clean landings
AVOID MISHAPS . never try to show off in front of the first-years—wobbling on a loop-the-loop is not a good look. keep your broom maintained; a splintered handle spells disaster.
[ there you have it—follow this guide, and you’ll not only pass these classes with flying colors, but you might even look like you know what you’re doing while you’re at it, and maybe you’ll avoid getting hexed by Snape. we’ll see ]

Must Read Drarry fics
A compilation of the crème de la crème Drarry, all the fics that I always go back to when I want to immerse myself in the Harry Potter universe. In no particular order.
Azoth by zeitgeistic 88k
Now that Harry is back at Hogwarts with Hermione for eighth year, he realises that something’s missing from his life, and it either has to do with Ron, his boggart, Snape, or Malfoy. Furthermore, what, exactly, does it mean when one’s life is defined by the desire to simultaneously impress and annoy a portrait? Harry has no idea; he’s too busy trying not to be in love with Malfoy to care.
Right Hand Red by lq_traintracks (lumosed_quill) 73k
Harry felt Malfoy's breath on his lips as they came together over the bottle, hands firmly planted on the floor as though they each needed their familiar soil, refusing to cross into enemy territory. Except that Malfoy no longer felt like his enemy. Malfoy felt inevitable.
All Our Secrets Laid Bare by firethesound 149k
Over the six years Draco Malfoy has been an Auror, four of his partners have turned up dead. Harry Potter is assigned as his newest partner to investigate just what is going on.
Stately Homes of Wiltshire by waspabi 57k
Malfoy Manor has mould, dry rot and an infestation of unusually historical poltergeists. Harry Potter is on the case.
Mental by sara_holmes 186k
Harry has had quite enough of sharing his mind with someone else, thankyouverymuch. A miscast Legilimecy spell says otherwise.
Temptation on the Warfront by alizarincrims0n 180k
Draco Malfoy is forced into hiding with the Golden Trio and dragged into their search for horcruxes. What ensues is a journey of redemption, unexpected friendships and an unwanted, turbulent romance with Harry Potter. Warnings for swearing, sexual content, and dark themes.
Diffraction Patterns (I Don't Know How to Forget You) by yourdifferentoctober 93k
When Harry Potter, of all people, offers to help Draco erase his Dark Mark, he has no choice but to accept. He wants it gone. He wants to forget. He wants to reconstitute the past. Never mind that erasures leave real marks on bodies, real traces on the world in its becoming. This is not how he expected his eighth year to go.
Tell Me a Secret by alexmeg 86k
In which the bond is rooted in their emotions, everything goes even more wrong, and Harry is certain that he and Draco could never feel what the curse wants them to feel for each other. Until Harry does.
The Ordeal of Being Known by louisfake 146k
When Auror Potter is anonymously cursed with silence by being forced to hide his own voice inside his mind, there's unfortunately only one person in the country with the qualifications to fix it: Certified and Licensed Healer Legilimens, Draco Malfoy, specialist in Mind Curses and Afflictions. It's obviously a terrible idea, a disaster waiting to happen, but Draco's never been able to back down from a challenge... especially from Potter.
Freedom to be by Quicksilvermaid 169k
Harry Potter is the Boy Who Lived. 12 years after the war, he's become the Boy Who Lived For Everyone Else. He has the perfect wife. The perfect house. The perfect job. The perfect friends. Only nothing feels perfect. Until one day he stumbles across a club called Release and begins a journey of self-discovery that takes him to a very different place.
Grounds for Divorce by Tepre 122k
Malfoy finds a coin. Harry finds a letter. A story about histories, a story about families. A story about a lemon tree somewhere in Upper Egypt.
The Claiming of Grimmauld Place by bixgirl1 74k
When Grimmauld Place begins fighting against Harry’s ownership of it, he decides he needs help to train the historic home — but little does he expect that it’ll be Malfoy who’s most suitable for the challenge. However, as Malfoy and Harry get closer, Harry comes to understand that expectations aren’t always the best path by which to guide his heart — and in the process learns just what is needed to make a house a home.
Lumos by birdsofshore 41k
Harry never expected to spend eighth year listening to Draco Malfoy wanking.
9 ½ Days by magpie_fngrl 69k
After the events at the Manor, Harry and Draco find themselves stranded in the countryside with a broken wand and Death Eaters on their tail. This is the story of an uneasy truce, featuring faerie forests, seaside caves, Romani camps, kind old ladies, and a shared bed in an attic. Or how two boys fell in love in the midst of a bloody coup.
The Sleeping Beauty Curse by who_la_hoop 152k
When Draco Malfoy falls into a cursed sleep and can only be woken – at least, according to the Daily Prophet, that impeccable source of truth – by ‘true love’s kiss’, Harry Potter knows there’s no way on earth he’s the answer to this particular riddle. Is he . . . ?
The Nightmare Club by Elle Gray (Elle_Gray) 85k
Hermione and Ron are going back to Hogwarts to do N.E.W.T.s, Ginny isn't. Harry hasn't decided, until he has, in front of the Wizengamot and now he's responsible for Malfoy as well. A tale of enemies who learn to get along, get it wrong and get it on. Everything is purple, some things are on fire and no-one is sleeping properly. But don't worry, there's tea!
That Old Black Magic by bixgirl1 77k
Centuries ago, marriage contracts were the norm — ready-made alliances between families, expected and complied with, without complaint. But norms have a way of changing, and when a long-dormant contract flares to life, Harry has to navigate an unexpected splintering of the path he'd thought would be easy after the war... with Draco Malfoy.
Tales from the Special Branch by Femme (femmequixotic) 257k
Three months after their brief encounter, Draco has almost forgotten about Potter--or so he tells himself. Then a Dark wizard shows up on the Auror radar and all hell breaks loose. Draco will have to choose between everything he holds dear--everything he's worked so hard for--and a few stolen moments of passion with a certain green-eyed Inspector, once his sworn enemy and now something rather different entirely. He'll make the right choice, won't he? Who is he kidding? He'll ruin everything, as per usual. Bad choices and the name Malfoy go hand in hand.
Men Who Love Dragons Too Much by fencer_x 522k
‘Kill Albus Dumbledore’ is less a challenging task and more a suicide mission, so when Draco Malfoy is presented with the option to either dispatch his Headmaster or suffer an excruciating and most ignominious death of his own, along with his parents, he reaches deep into his black little Slytherin heart and manages to scrape together enough courage to go with option C instead: Spend Sixth Year secretly studying Animagecraft in the hopes he’ll turn into something sufficiently imposing even the Dark Lord himself won’t be able to keep Draco under his thumb. But just his luck, his Animagus form turns out to be a dragon, and a rather randy juvenile at that, intent on finding its mate: one Harry James Potter.

Sunsets and footballers (Part 21)
Lucy Bronze x Reader (21)
Masterlist (other parts here)
(*Mentions of mental health, suicide and domestic abuse. Take care with this chapter please x *)
Much to Lucy’s amusement, YFN was driving her car for the first time. YFN had first suggested that she drive to Birmingham to get used to the car and roads in the UK, and because Lucy had done all of the driving thus far. The first 20 minutes had been stressful, but eased with Lucy’s amused support.
“It’s just a car, little one. I don’t care what happens to it as long as you’re okay..” She’d said. That and how calm she was explaining the differences in the roads made YFN feel much, much more at ease.
When she was comfortable enough, Lucy insisted they ran through some of the information that was emailed through by Lumos, Lucy testing her knowledge.
“I only briefly skipped through that email, Luce.. it was our third date.” She groaned.
“Don’t think I don’t know you’ve been doing research since the girls first told you about this job..”
YFN looked guilty. “I like to be prepared.”
Lucy chuckled. “I know. It’s one of the things I love about you.. and you might as well use me while I’m here, right? We’ll start slow.”
YFN groaned. “Okay, I’ll try my best.”
“Okay, talk to me about the different tiers of women’s football in England.”
“Starting off slow, hey?” She pouted. Lucy was challenging her. “Okay… okay. There’s the top tier, Tier 1, the Barclay’s FA WSL. It has 12 teams, bottom team gets relegated to Tier 2 which is the FA Women’s Championship. Also 12 teams, the winners going into the WSL for the next season, while the bottom-placed team are relegated Tier 3, the FA Women’s Nation’s League. Then it gets a bit complicated because there’s the northern teams against each other and the southern teams against each other with the top northern and southern team in the final FA WNL Championship Play-Off, the winner moving up to Tier 2, FA Champions League.”
She looked over at Lucy who was grinning at her proudly. “I knew you’d been researching.”
YFN blushed under her gaze. “It’s important to you.. so it’s important to me. Regardless of the job.”
“God, you’re so cute.” She kissed her on her little cheek dimple, her face reddening further. “Try name the 12 teams in the WSL for me..”
“Okay… okay I can do it by location, might be easier. Around Manchester you have 2 teams, Man United and Man City. Around Liverpool there’s Liverpool and Everton. Around Birmingham there’s Aston Villa. Close to them there’s Leicester, in Leicester.. then there’s Bristol City by itself, and around London are the other 5 teams, Brighton and Hove Albion, Chelsea, West Ham United, Arsenal, and… Tottenham.”
“You’re so sexy when you’re talking football..” Lucy commented as she fed YFN a Malteser.
“Why do I feel like I’m being rewarded like a dog?”
“Who’s a good girl,” Lucy cooed and patted her head. YFN rolled her eyes. “Who are the current WSL Champions?”
“Chelsea, they beat Man United.”
“Do any WSL teams play for other titles?”
“Uh.. there’s the Continental Cup? Conti Cup.. it’s the Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams together, so WSL and The Championship.”
“And the current Conti Cup Champions?”
“Arsenal.. they beat Chelsea.”
“Any other titles?”
“The UEFA Women’s Champions League.. it’s basically the WSL of Europe. It’s where all the fun happens and there’s a chance for a team like Arsenal to go up against a team like Barcelona.” She turned to Lucy. “Is it your favourite?”
“My favourite is definitely playing for England… but when playing with Barca then yeah, I love playing against the UK teams.”
“Is it hard playing against friends?”
She shrugged. “It was at first.. but then I found it’s much easier if you just go at players like opposition and don’t look at who they are. Just do your thing. I always want to win so it’s easier for me, but I know some of the girls struggle with it.”
YFN nodded and stole another Malteser. “Barcelona are the current Champions, obviously because they have the best right-back in history… and it was against Wolfsburg. Aaaand I believe that was your… fourth Championship title? 3 with Lyon, 1 with Barca?”
Lucy looked impressed. “You really have been doing your research, you sneak. I’m really proud of that too. Almost missed the one with Barca though.. I had surgery on my knee about 5 weeks before the final.” She trailed off, getting a little into her own head.
YFN put her hand on her knee, stroking it to console her. She knew there wasn’t much to say about it. “I can’t wait to see you play for Barca.”
That worked. Lucy smiled. “Tell me again why you can’t live in Spain, if you already have a team for you to work with? And once you get a good schedule going, they’ll be going to the games for you.. There’s…” she took YFN’s phone to read the email. “…Samantha, Bridget and Emily, Ethan, Daniel, Ruby…” She trailed off as she kept reading. “Okay so they’ve hired 4 videographers and 4 photographers, then there’s your IT guy Noel who is an all-rounder..”
“Yes, love, but I need to make sure they’re all comfortable editing because a lot don’t have the experience. We also need a specific style to create so it helps to build our brand and keep it all homogenous almost.. and then what if someone is sick and can’t cover a game?”
“It’s only 2 hours from Barca to London.” She offered.
YFN let herself look at Lucy for a second. She needed to get her scepticism across. It worked. Lucy was intelligent, she knew that YFN would be busy in the UK for the next 6 months at the very least.
YFN patted the steering wheel. “I think we’re going to be doing a lot of driving! I should name him… any ideas.”
“Miles?”
“Ohhh.. like Miles Morales?”
She could tell from Lucy’s expression that she had no idea who that was. “Who?”
“Spiderman… never mind, I’ll add it to our movie list. Eminem? After Miles Morales? No… no I like Miles. Let’s keep it simple.”
“We have a movie list?” Lucy looked excited and longing, almost. “Miles it is. Also, Spiderman is Peter Parker.”
“How dare you.”
Lucy wiggled her eyebrows. “Well I still think when you get more comfortable and all fall into a good rhythm covering games.. you can maybe work from Spain…” She gave those big eyes of hers as she sat sideways in the seat, admiring her girlfriend.
“Well I am mainly working on my laptop. But it’s such a small company right now, so they’ll expand quickly with all of the coverage if we do it right. Plus, they have so much money. What they’re offering pay-wise and then expense-wise is ridiculous.” She stopped herself, realising she was getting excited about the job again, and eased Lucy’s worries. “I’m sorry.. I’ll let us live in a little happy bubble for now, hm? We don’t know what could happen.”
Lucy sighed and reached out, her hand finding YFN’s pocket. “Who knows, maybe I’ll end up back in the WSL.”
“Or maybe I’ll be fired on my first day.”
Lucy scoffed. “Not a chance. They’re lucky to have you.”
YFN could tell Lucy was struggling with her emotions a little. She assumed the dread for their goodbye tomorrow was creeping up on the footballer also. She saw her fall into that little Lucy space and she left her there for a few minutes before she spoke. “Tell me what you’re thinking. Right… there.” The took her hand off the steering wheel to poke her in the middle of the forehead. “I can see it sitting there.”
Lucy came back with a little smile. “I was trying to decide if I was a bad person or not by thinking that I’m partially hoping Martin can’t get that working Visa for you..”
YFN laughed. “You know he will have it approved by the end of the night. And also… no, it’s not a bad thing. It melts my heart because it makes me feel wanted and needed by you. So, thank you for the honesty. And I..” She stopped herself, eyes widening at the fact that three words almost rolled off of her tongue. Before Lucy could question it, YFN’s phone rang.
“It’s Ridley.” Lucy said, shaking the phone for her to see. Before YFN could say anything, Lucy answered on loudspeaker.
“Hey baby Blue, I miss you.” Ridley drawled, flirty as usual.
YFN looked over at Lucy, expecting her to be jealous and she wasn’t disappointed. She’d spoken to Lucy about Ridley before, but only the bare minimum, like she had with Jordan. Ridley was an enigma, and one of her favourite people on the planet. She knew it wouldn’t take long for Lucy to pick up her personality and understand.
“Hey Riddles, I miss you too. What’s happening?”
“Sitting in an airport, wishing it were a beach. Waiting for a man, as usual. I swear, you let men into your life, and you get this. Constant irritation. Must be so hard to drag your little dick around that you end up late for everything.”
Lucy chuckled beside her at that.
“I can guarantee you’re 15 minutes early. And by the sound of your irritation.. waiting for your coffee I’m assuming?”
“It tames my demons. And you are, as usual, correct on both counts.” She began speaking to who YFN assumed was the barista. “Thanks baby, I’ll definitely call you.”
YFN felt like she could hear the wink from across the phone. Lucy raised her eyebrows in question and YFN shrugged. This was normal.
“Okay I’m back. Fuuuck, that’s a good coffee.”
“Are you going to call her or were you just being polite again?”
“Did the ‘definitely’ give me away again?” She asked sheepishly. “She’s cute but very much the relationship type. You know I don’t do that.”
“Mmnhmn. Lucy’s here by the way, we’re just driving to Birmingham.”
“Ah, Lucia Roberta, we finally meet. Kind of. Hold up…” She switched to Facetime as she walked through the airport, coffee in hand. Ridley was drop-dead stunning. She was the only person who had more confidence than Lucy, and it was obvious with the way she spoke and carried herself. She liked to keep herself fit and tidy, besides the alcohol she always slammed when she was at a festival or picking up. Her jawline was godly, her hair was the perfect dark, dark brown shaggy bob, and she had a noticeable scar on her face that started on her cheek and rose to the bottom of her left eye. Typically, it made her even more attractive.
“Hey there, I’ve heard a lot about you.” Lucy said, trying to control her jealously that rose as she saw how fucking stunning she was.
“If any of it is good, then she was lying. She does that to be nice.” She chuckled and got a little closer to the camera. “But she wasn’t lying when she told me about you though. Fuck, you’re sexy.”
Lucy was caught off guard and looked at YFN. Yep, she understood now. Ridley was just… Ridley. Lucy grinned at the compliment and turned back to the camera, her cockiness coming out.
“What can I say… I’m built different.” Lucy quoted and Ridley got the reference, the two sharing a laugh and flexing biceps. YFN rolled her eyes. Of course they’d get along. She could only imagine what they’d be like in person together, egging each other on to do things.
“Little dick appears to be here and… lost.” She brought her fingers to her mouth, whistling loudly.
“Don’t scare the boys, Riddles.”
She grinned at her friend. “My therapist says I should do what makes me happy. Besides, I’ve already had two men tell me I’m intimidating today.. three for the hat-trick, right Bronze?”
Lucy chuckled. “I believe in you.”
“Anyways, I called to see when you’re coming to Spain.. I miss you.”
“I miss you more, and I’ll be there in 13 days. The day before Lucy’s Liga F match if that helps.”
Ridley liked specifics. “It does. Okay, Blue, I’ll see you then. Bronze, don’t be a stranger. Adiós!”
The call ended and there was silence for several seconds. YFN tried to hide her smile and looked at Lucy who was already looking at her.
“Well?”
“She seems fun. And…”
“…an aquired taste.”
“I like her. You weren’t lying about the flirting.”
“No, love. Luckily I’m already pretty obsessed with a woman anyways.”
“Did you two ever..?”
YFN knew it was coming. “No. Never. That was never us, our relationship is more like… shared trauma. I think she’s the best person, but we’ve both been through quite a bit.”
Lucy was silent and so she continued. “We were neighbours growing up. Her family was even more dysfunctional than mine, but instead of not having a mum, she didn’t have a dad. She grew up fast and took it upon herself to look after her mum, a bipolar, and her brother who was autistic who was always getting bullied… really badly. She took my brother and I under her wing also.” She choked, getting a little emotional, knowing what was coming. “One night after school her brother was… beaten to death. To be more specific, beaten and left for dead. He was supposed to be picked up by their mum who was ‘trying to get better’. She got drunk and forgot about him. Ridley found him and held him until the cops arrived. She begged them not to tell her mum, because she was so erratic when she wasn’t well, and especially worse when alcohol was mixed. They didn’t listen because she was only young, and they called her anyways. She’d killed herself by the time Ridley was dropped home. She’d expected it to be honest. I… Ridley and I used to sneak into each other’s rooms at night to hang out, play games, read books, talk. I snuck into her room and she wasn’t there. I found her in the bathroom with her mum.” YFN couldn’t help the tears streaming down her face as she remembered. “There was so much blood, Luce. And Riddles… it was almost like she didn’t feel the grief at all. She was so prepared for it. She was forced to grow up too young.”
She looked at Lucy who was also crying, eyes closed and shaking her head. She continued. “That scar on her face? From my dad. After what happened, her Aunt moved in and started taking care of her. They stayed in that house because they couldn’t afford to sell it with the debt they were left. She’d stay in my room as much as possible to avoid the memories in her own house. She’d usually already be in my room by the time I came up there. I told you my dad was abusive..”
“He didn’t… touch you, did he?” Her voice shook, nervous for the response.
“Not in the way you think. He hit us. He’d have good days and bad days. On one of his worst days, Ridley heard it from my room and came down. He was going at my brother with a knife and I was trying to stop him. Ridley saw red and jumped in to save us. We were only young and my dad was a lot stronger, so he’d managed to still cut her face as she fought him. She got it off of him eventually and knocked him on his ass. He left the next day and never came back. Nan looked after us from then on. She.. she probably saved our lives. He wanted to kill us. I could see it on his face.” She sniffed, wiping the tears away with the cuff of her shirt. “I remember holding her hand when she got her stitches.. so you see, she’s one of the most important people in my life, and she always will be. We grew into such different people after all of that. Both of us really haven’t dated much. Riddles has dated one person I think? And she sabotaged it. I let myself date a few but none of them have understood me or what I need.” She took a deep breath in. Might as well tell her everything, right? “One of the biggest changes we noticed as we grew up was sex. Riddles doesn’t have sex for love, she does it to hold some form of control. If she can control herself and somebody else, and especially their orgasm, then it satisfies her. She doesn’t let anyone close except me because I was there. We’ve had long conversations about this. Whereas me… I was so much of a passenger in my life, always scared of my dad that I just want to be loved. And protected. Supported. I want that unconditional fucking hopeless romantic, Heath Ledger love. And when it comes to sex… my body craves someone that I can put my absolute trust in. Someone who I can give all of my control, my thoughts, my opinions to. Someone who will literally hold me down and fuck me for both of our benefits. I don’t want a choice.” She was so far in, that her admission scared even her. “I’ve never had that before. Saying it out loud like that… scares me. I’ve never been so honest about it and I’ve definitely never let myself give up any of my trust until I met you.” She looked at Lucy who looked in awe. She reached a hand out as if to strangle her. “You, and your pretty fucking face. You, and your inability to pronounce ‘th’ in a sentence. You, and that fucking grin that lights up a room.”
Lucy pointed outside. “Pull over. Right there.”
YFN sighed as did as she was told, knowing that whatever came of her confession she’d accept. She pulled over and took her time, putting the car into park, handbrake on.
Lucy unclipped her seatbelt and leaned over the centre console, her hand finding YFN’s face as she pulled her towards her. Their lips met passionately. Then needily. Then desperately. Gasps for air and desperate breaths filling the air.
“Luce..” she whimpered against her lips in between the barrage of kisses she was receiving. Lucy took a little while to respond, distracting herself. “You’re mine. I will always keep you safe and make sure you’re loved. Do you understand?” She pulled YFN’s head to her collarbone and held her tight. Of course, the tears started up again. She can’t believe she’d told Lucy.
Lucy held her tightly, her hand stroking her hair, whispering sweet nothings, and reassuring her. Giving her everything she needed.
The emotions settled down eventually and YFN mumbled into Lucy’s shirt. “You know, I’m still really embarrassed about how forward I was when we started texting..”
Lucy vibrated under her, laughing softly. “Oh, I definitely encouraged that. It was perfect.”
YFN leaned back so she could see Lucy. She assumed her face reflected her girlfriends. Puffy red eyes and tear-stained cheeks. She cheekily tapped her cheek and Lucy took the hint, leaning in and kissing it with lingering lips. She kissed it a few more times and sat back in her seat. And then, they were off again.
They arrived at Jordan’s after dark, the little blonde bouncing up and down in the driveway as they pulled up. Jordan jumped on the closest person, Lucy, her legs wrapping around her waist. Lucy wrapped her in a tight hug.
“Alright, Jords?”
“I missed you two!”
“We missed you more, mate.” YFN said as she rounded the car. Jordan dropped off of Lucy and tried to do the same to YFN, though they were both a similar height and weight and ended up sprawled on the ground laughing.
The house was a cute little stand alone and inside was modern and fresh. It was a wide open space with its kitchen, dining and living area all sharing the same room which led out to the patio. It was a 2 by 2, with a bedroom either side of the large entertainment area. YFN found her bedroom, it was much larger than she imagined and had an ensuite. She turned and glared at Jordan. “You didn’t.”
“You have Lucy.. and my bathroom is perfect.” Just as she saw YFN about to argue she continued. “I originally picked that room, I promise! It doesn’t get the morning light, and I like being on that side.”
YFN pouted, wanting to argue but knowing it would be useless.
“Yay, shower sex.” Lucy said as she opened YFN’s suitcase on the bed. It was the most unhinged thing she’d ever heard Lucy say and her mouth dropped open. This was obviously the same for Jordan who was caught off guard. “Joking.. but not really. Go and have your little chat, I’ll unpack.” She insisted as she pushed them both out the door.
“I can’t believe she never said that to me…” Jordan whined. She was getting teary eyed as she looked at YFN. “Why didn’t she tell me?”
“I think she was scared... and torn… and trying to justify the unjustifiable. She knows she messed up.” She hugged Jordan a little tighter.
“She’s coming tonight.”
“What?!”
“I think tonight has gotten just a little bit out of hand..”
“How out of hand are we talking about?”
“Um.. I don’t know the exact number but I know the restaurant had to order more chairs.”
YFN’s eyed widened. “Wait… what?” Lucy walked out of the bedroom then and she directed her next question at her. “What am I walking into?”
Lucy tilted her head with an innocent look and shrugged. “The girls love a catch up, and as far as I know, no one has organised anything like this before so I think word spread around pretty quickly. I think between me, Jords, Katie and Caitlin, we managed to get quite a few different nationalities interested… we have no idea how many are coming though. Katie was organising that.”
“Oh, they’ll be here soon actually. We should get ready.” Jordan said, wiping her eyes.
“What are you going to do about Leah tonight..?” YFN asked gently.
Jordan shrugged. “As far as I’m concerned, this doesn’t change anything. She still hasn’t spoken to me. I need some time to process and maybe I’ll let her say what she needs to. I don’t want to talk to her tonight, though.”
"You know the safe word.."

Mysteries were overrated.
Every so often, when I dove headfirst into learning something new and spent hours doing that for fun, I wondered whether I should've been sorted into Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor. But now, after spending far too long trying to reason my way to understanding, I'd decided to throw logic out the window and do some good old fashioned following people around instead. My Ravenclaw friends would never let me hear the end of it when I told them, but right now, I didn't care.
My boyfriend, Remus Lupin, had been ill on and off for months. He leaned on his friends, relied on them for support, but never turned to me. I'd talked to him once or twice, but he'd never given me a straight answer, and when the third month in a row came around that he looked on the verge of death's doorstep, I decided to get to the bottom of things one way or another.
Which was why I was out in the middle of the night on the Hogwarts grounds, trailing a far distance back from the Marauders as they moved in a pack. All of them except my boyfriend seemed in good spirits, and whatever was going on, I felt for Remus. I hadn't expected the adventure to take us out of the castle, so I still wore pajamas, and only love for my boyfriend kept me from turning right around to seek shelter from the cold night air.
To my surprise, the four boys ahead of me made straight for the Whomping Willow. I knew they were idiots, but I had no idea what possible draw the murder tree could have for them right now, especially with Remus so clearly feeling terrible. Then, in a flash, Peter disappeared.
I blinked and rubbed at my eyes, trying to figure out what I'd seen. Then, in the dull moonlight just barely filtering through the clouds, I saw a rat scurry across the roots of the tree. A moment later, the branches froze in place, and the remaining three boys ducked into a passage normally hidden among the roots, the rat following right after them.
Of course they were unregistered Animagi. I knew that month they'd spent barely talking hadn't been a ploy to mess with the Slytherin Quidditch team, or James trying to impress Lily with his friends' support, or anything else they'd claimed. But Remus hadn't been part of that.
Before I could second guess myself, I let every last ridiculous Gryffindor instinct take over and rushed to the tree, sliding into the hole at its base a split second before the branches began whipping around again furiously. I muttered a quick lumos to light the way ahead of me, then hurried after the boys.
Before I got very far into the tunnel, I heard horrifying screams coming from ahead, the same kinds people said came from the Shrieking Shack. I hesitated for half a second before racing off down the tunnel in the direction the boys had gone. Whatever that noise was, it wasn't good, and I needed to make sure Remus and our friends were alright.
I made it about ten steps forward before I collided with someone. They wrapped their arms around me and held me in place to keep me from moving forward, and after a moment's shouting and confusion, I recognized the person holding me.
"Y/N, you have to get out of here!" shouted James, his tone urgent. I'd never heard him yell like this before, never saw his cool composure drop to the level of the panic currently in his eyes.
"James, what's going on?" I cried. I heard that horrible screeching again, and I tried to move past him. "Where's Remus?"
"You have to leave, now! It's not safe-!"
A moment later, an earsplitting howl replaced the screaming. I froze and so did James, and our wide eyes slowly found each other. I knew that howl from Defense Against the Dark Arts. That was a werewolf.
"You have to run, now," James finally said, his voice low but firm. "If you don't, he'll kill you. It doesn't matter that he loves you, when he's transformed... he has no control."
"Is he... is he going to be okay?"
"Not if he comes back to himself to find out he killed you. Now get out!"
With that, James turned on his heel and transformed before my eyes into a gigantic, gorgeous stag. I could hear barking and snarling further down the corridor, still not close but definitely getting closer. I hesitated, hating to leave without doing anything, but James was right. I didn't have a choice.
I took off running back the way I'd come, trusting the Marauders to take care of Remus tonight. For now, that was the best I could do.
Commotion followed me the whole way out of the tunnel, getting just so slightly closer as to make me nervous. When I finally raced out of the tunnel, I just remembered to slam the root on the tree to stop the branches. I didn't look back as I raced up the grounds to the doors of the castle, finally breathing a sigh of relief from the safety of the entry hall.
I quickly ducked into the nearest secret passage lest Filch catch me out of bed, then slumped back against the wall and slowly sank to the ground. The adrenaline of the past few minutes crashed over me in waves, and I focused on taking long, deep breaths. Slowly, as I calmed down, the actual information that came with my investigation tonight sank in.
My boyfriend was a werewolf. His three best friend were unregistered Animagi, and they apparently spent every full moon with him in their animal forms.
Every DADA class we'd spent discussing werewolves (which, thankfully, hadn't been that many) suddenly came rushing back to me. All the time our teacher had spent talking about them as if they were monsters, while Remus just had to sit there and listen. I clenched and unclenched my fists, taking a second to run the odds on expulsion if I punched a teacher.
Remus was nothing but the sweetest, most wonderful person I'd ever met, and I was so lucky to have him in my life. The thought of people ignoring that, of Remus' face if someone called him a monster... all I wanted to do was wrap him up tight in my arms and never let him go.
I decided to focus on that last feeling instead of the 'punch a teacher' feeling. I had no idea how long these transformations lasted, but I had a feeling Remus would be awfully beat up when he finally did make it back here. With a quick pitstop in the kitchens to grab a few of his favorite snacks, I headed back up to the Gryffindor common room to wait.
Only sheer force of will and a deep love for Remus kept me from passing out after the first hour. The fire was warm, the blanket nest I'd made on my favorite common room couch was comfortable, and the adrenaline dump just made me want to pass out. But I kept my eyes open, waiting for him to come back. Finally, a little after three in the morning, the portrait door swung open.
"Come on, Moony, let's get you upstairs."
"It's okay, nobody got hurt-"
The Marauders staggered into the common room, James and Sirius holding Remus between them as Peter held the door. They all froze on the spot, however, when they saw me waiting on the couch.
"Hey," I said, finally moving from the spot I'd spent the past few hours holding down. I blinked sleepy eyes and managed a smile as I approached Remus and the others. "Uh... do you guys mind if I get a minute with my boyfriend?"
James and Sirius shared significant looks, then both turned to Peter. After a moment's hesitation, they looked back at me and nodded.
"Moony we'll, uh... we'll see you upstairs," said James. He nodded to me as he eased away from Moony and headed for the stairs, Sirius following behind him with a narrow-eyed warning look in my direction. Peter followed, giving me a mix of a look between James and Sirius'. Then, finally, I was alone with my boyfriend.
"So... I'm still your boyfriend?" he asked. He leaned heavily to one side, away from me, as I approached him. The hurt and defeat in his voice ripped my heart open all over again.
"Rem... of course. I love you. Nothing could ever change that."
Remus didn't look like he quite believed me, but he drifted in my direction anyway. I smiled and closed the rest of the distance, taking up the position his friends had filled before. I wrapped an arm around his waist and started leading him towards the couch.
"You're not... afraid of me?"
I scoffed and helped Remus ease down into the blankets, then settled in next to him. I'd spent hours preparing this fort, and when I saw a little weight ease off of Remus' shoulders as he settled in, it was worth it.
"Of course I'm not afraid of you. I love you."
"But James said..."
"Never mind what James said. I love you, Rem, and nothing in the world could ever change that. I'm just sorry I couldn't do more to help you."
Remus huffed a laugh as I leaned against his side, then finally put his arm around me. I laid on his chest, listening to his heartbeat as he spoke and wrapping my arms around him in the most comforting hug I could.
"You find out I'm a werewolf and almost get killed in the process... and you're wishing you could've done more to help me?"
"I'm a Gryffindor, babe, I don't scare easy."
He laughed fully now, loud and joyous. It didn't last long, since he was clearly exhausted, but the sound made my heart sing.
"What on earth did I do to deserve someone as wonderful as you?"
"You were a wonderful person every single day of your life, clearly. Now here, look what I got." Without further ado, I pulled out the snacks I'd stolen from the kitchen. Remus literally gasped.
"Did you get these for me?"
"Yup. If I'd gotten them for me, they'd've been gone already."
"You're wonderful. Have I mentioned that lately?"
"Yes, but I can always stand to hear it again." We shared a smile as Remus dug into the snacks, his head resting against mine, and then I sighed. "So... what do you think the odds are of the rest of the Marauders helping me through the steps to become an Animagus?"
Remus choked on what he was eating, then looked at me with wide eyes.
"You're kidding."
"I'm not! I want to be there to support you, Rem, through everything. I guess... as long as that's okay with you?"
He smiled, then gave a little disbelieving laugh. He leaned in and placed a soft kiss on my forehead before snuggling up with me again.
"I can't think of anything that would be more okay with me."
"Okay, good. But I'm going to put myself in charge of coming up with a lie to cover the mandrake leaf in my mouth. I'm pre-vetoing anything the rest of you come up with."
"Probably a good decision."

Hi, sorry to bother you—this is kind of random, but I wanted to ask first: would it be okay if I use your Poppy photo in one of my drawings? I haven’t posted anything yet, I promise—I just wanted to make sure I had your permission before doing anything with it. Totally understand if not, but I really appreciate you either way!
You honestly did a fantastic job on all of them! How did you manage to get everything written so perfectly too? It’s so lovely seeing all the students’ photos together. Also, how did you find those photos? They’re amazing!
Hi again, sorry to bother you! I just wanted to ask if it would be okay for me to use the Poppy photo you used. I’d love to include it in one of my posts, but I wanted to get your permission first. Totally understand if not—just thought I’d ask!

Hi! ❤️
honestly, what a sweet message to wake up to, not only are you not bothering me, you already made my day
Of course you can use the picture of Poppy! Thank you for asking. I'm really happy you like the yearbook photos, that was a huge project that took me all week and it's been a bit of a challenge figuring out how to make them all look consistent (I had to abuse MC casting lumos as a human spotlight 🤣) Oh, and I didn't mention it in the original post, but I took three differently coloured versions of each picture because I couldn't decide which I liked best, I'll post Poppy's for you (uncropped):

Thanks again for asking, and happy drawing!

I think it should be pointed out that Maeve used to frequently engage in HP rps. While I don't necessarily think that participating in the groups itself is a direct support of JK as most of them remove a lot of her rhetoric I do think that it could be an indicator as to why Maeve wouldn't reprimand someone (Lumos) as strongly as they would someone speaking out about HP rps as a genre (Shadow). Speaking as someone that was in multiple HP rps with Maeve but never had direct conflict with her or any of the other mods of the FindRps server and not in the server. I don't have an issue with her but I think the "we don't want to touch this and both are in the wrong" attitude from the mods as a whole is is pretty on brand and just enables the bullshit while also showing they don't foster a safe space as it's not safe for the POC that aren't afraid to challenge people. It's only a safe space when you roll over and just accept it just like how people do IRL then act stupid when people call them racist, transphobic, etc. for being complacent
literally hp groups existence aside (a whole other topic in itself) viewing the admins' response as its own entity is crazy work as if the server is literally not just something on discord (that should be curated) and they're acting like it's the UN assembly with this free speech argument like ya free speech goes both ways idk what to tell u findrps admins

The English Client — Ten
— PAIRING: Tom Riddle x F!Reader
— SYNOPSIS: The year is 1952. Tom is working for Borgin and Burkes. He is sent to Rome to acquire three ancient books of magic by any means necessary. One in particular proves challenging to reach, and the only path forward is through a pretty, young bookseller. A foreigner like him, she lives alone, obsessed with her work... until Tom comes into her life.
— WARNINGS: none

I
Unsurprisingly, there was no sign of Ambrogio when Tom returned the next day after seeing Berit and negotiating an employment contract. His new colleague let him through to the downstairs area, the undershop, and she was quite cheerful at the sight of him, but clearly tired. Tom guessed she hadn’t slept much, just as he hadn’t.
“Do you have any plans for lunch?” he asked almost as an afterthought when he was halfway down the trapdoor with only his head peeking out.
“Well, I was going to see if Fred had time… Oh, you don’t know him, he’s —”
“Would you like to go with me, instead?” Tom asked, putting on his most charming smile.
“I would,” she said quickly with a lovely laugh.
“Good,” said Tom. “I’m glad to hear it.”
She blushed and nodded.
“Well, then, see you at noon,” he said, stepping down further with a parting wink.
He had not abandoned the notion that, out of all the people involved with Casa Ur, she was the one through which he could reach his goals most easily. And he’d be kidding himself if he didn’t admit she was the most pleasant out of all of them, not that she had much competition on that front. As for the others — the Baron, Ambrogio, even the secretary — they were to be handled carefully…
And in the meanwhile, Tom set to work.
She had given him a briefing on what he could find below, and where, and the rest was up to him. Tom spent the first few hours setting up his desk — he chose the one that wasn’t with its back against the door — and then inspecting his surroundings. The tunnels were large and expansive, although they were merely the skeleton of what they could have been. That one large corridor opened into many rooms and smaller passages, some of which led nowhere, and some of which were full. He didn’t have time to see them all that day.
Then he made a few attempts at magic and found, to his surprise, that there were no counter-spells active at all. At least, not on the basic sort of spells he tried, the ones that wouldn’t target a person. That would certainly make his work much easier, as he could enchant a quill to write up his reports after authenticating the books, while he explored the tunnels further.
Best of all, before lunchtime, he looked into the closest room to his new office, the one behind the curtain. It opened into a vestibule that was well organised and rather bare, although there was the hint of rituals performed there from the half-burnt candles and the hints of chalk upon the floor. Through another door and with the help of Lumos he saw a larger chamber, something like an auditorium.
“The auction room, I take it…”
Once he stepped out, he noticed another doorway of a wood so dark as to seem invisible. It looked like a grander office with a large desk facing the door. If the smell and dust were any indication, it was being used less often than his shared office with Ambrogio, but it was more ornate, more respectable, and filled with shelves and drawers. Pinned to a board were layers and layers of lists.
He focused on the books which lined the walls there. Their quality did not much differ from the books on sale upstairs, but some were rare and precious things indeed. His fingers itched even as he only looked at them. These were too valuable to leave in the hands of muggles, but that was a problem for another day.
Lunch came around. She called him on the telephone at noon, startling him from the ransacking of another crate. In a way, it was another novelty for Tom — not that he hadn’t eaten with her before, but the whole idea of a lunch break was luxurious to him. At Borgin and Burke’s, he ate standing up and in a hurry, if he ate at all. In this respect, the Baron was a generous employer, or perhaps it was the whole Italian attitude to life that deserved the credit.
The restaurant where they went to eat — he let it be her choice to spare himself the humiliation of picking poorly again — was the same where she had gone to eat with Frederico: a small place opposite the Trevi fountain filled with young Italians and tourists. It was a far cry from Knockturn Alley. Everyone here was well dressed, hair carefully coifed. and there was an air of self-respect in their relaxed and pleasant posture which was reflected also in their laughter, their good cheer, and how appraisingly they looked at others. Tom never did like being gawked at, but he discovered he liked people gawking at his companion even less.
“What are you thinking?”
“Hmm?”
She was looking at him with her chin braced on her palm, her head slightly tilted in a dreamy sort of way. “It’s just… That was a pretty intense look on your face,” she said. “I just hope you’re not having trouble with your new… assignment.”
“My what? Oh, you mean — No, that’s going very well,” said Tom, head turned at the Piazza spread before him. “No, I was just thinking of London, in fact.”
“Oh,” she said dejectedly.
“And how much I hate it there.”
“Really?” she said, sounding more hopeful.
“Yes… Sometimes, when I let my guard down, I must confess I like it here.”
“Well then, we must make sure to strip you of all your guards,” she giggled. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry!” she added quickly. “That sounded funnier in my head.”
Tom smirked. “What do you mean? I found it hysterical.”
She groaned and hid her face behind the menu.
“Make no mistake,” said Tom, “I’m sure I’ll hate it here as well. All these people, all of them… looking at us.”
“They’re only judging our fashion sense,” she whispered.
“Are they indeed?”
“And, well, maybe more.”
“Hmm.”
Her flirtation was quite charming, in its artless way. It was not a show of wits and glamour, not a boast or a sophistication, it was just… a response to his presence, and what she thought of him.
And apparently, she was imagining him naked. Legilimency is probably my favourite spell, he thought, after the killing curse, naturally.
Their tension — her groaning, him grinning — was cut by the arrival of the server.
She had something with seafood. Tom had Alio et olio.
“Are you sure?” she asked. “That can be quite spicy.”
“Don’t worry. I know what I’m doing,” he winked.
II
There were a few hours left until sunset, and Tom put aside his explorations of that underground labyrinth to begin reviewing the books. He took out his quill, enchanted it to take notes on dictation, and made good progress for one hour, reading, thinking, and writing…
His notes ended up sounding a bit stale, generic even, but factual and convincing, he thought. He was ready with the main body of it when Ambrogio appeared. Tom quickly hid the quill away in a drawer and replaced it with a pen when he heard the hollow echo of his footsteps.
“Good morning,” said Tom in greeting with a grin. “I mean, evening. I was just about to pack up for the day, in fact.”
Ambrogio rounded the corner with a practised gait, clad in the same black suit as yesterday complete with a white shirt and red tie. His eyes didn’t betray any surprise at seeing Tom there, but he was familiar with the subtleties of undead expressions from the few customers of his ilk he’d had on Knockturn Alley. So he knew Ambrogio was positively furious to see him there.
Tom’s smile widened in an uncharacteristically friendly fashion. It almost hurt his face.
“Good to see you again, Mr. Ripple.”
“Riddle.”
“Yes, exactly. I am relieved to see you have been… working diligently.”
“I’m almost done with the first book, in fact.”
“Really?”
“I was thinking of sending a first draft to the Baron tomorrow.”
“May I see it?”
“Certainly.”
Tom stepped to the side and let the vampire pick the papers up himself.
“And what is that awful scent?” Ambrogio asked, his nose curling the closer he got to Tom.
“Oh? I have no idea… Might be my lunch.”
Ambrogio looked at him with a disgust verging on death — which the garlic must have smelled like to him. It did cross Tom’s mind that he was playing with fire, but he wanted to have at least a little fun.
Ambrogio’s dead gaze fell to the sheets of paper in his hands. They lay there so limply and delicately that Tom was sure he’d drop them, but vampires were deceitfully strong creatures. It was probably part of what made Ambrogio so useful to the Baron. There was a great deal of heavy lifting to be done in this kind of work, and that, together with his involvement with the magical world, must have made the vampire invaluable.
“You wish to present this to the Baron?” Ambrogio asked.
“Yes,” said Tom confidently.
Oso’s expression changed to something faintly resembling dismay.
“You’ve written hardly anything of note. We need an analysis, not a fairy tale.”
Tom straightened his back and took in a sharp breath.
“The historical considerations,” continued Ambrogio, “are less important than the physical aspects of the book. Look at its characteristics dryly, without concern for context or comparison. I want to see your review of the quality of the paper, its texture, its scent, the thread count of the binding, whether it has any watermarks… Then, you can move on to your personal assumptions about historical compatibility, or whether it has sufficient wear and tear for its supposed age.”
And without any more ceremony, Ambrogio balled up the papers into one messy fistful and threw them into the waste basket by the desk.
“Start over,” he said as he turned, hands now primly behind his back. “If you wish to work for the Baron, you will work until your hands will bleed if that’s what it takes for a good work to be squeezed out of you. You will stay here all night if necessary.”
Tom’s jaw clenched, the ideas of a thousand curses passing through his mind as Ambrogio went back to his own desk.
“And find something better to write with,” he added. “That one scratched the paper something terrible. It’s as if you wrote with a claw. Get a Montblanc.”
III
It took five days for Tom to finish his analysis of The Book of Abramelin, between taking notes in the basement and trips to the library for research. The other two were far easier and he did both of them in one week altogether, finishing up ahead of schedule even by his own rigorous standards. And he did end up buying a fountain pen, but he opted for a Parker instead. He looked at the little decorative arrow on the cap and imagined shooting one straight through Ambrogio’s head.
Tom was, however, relieved that the vampire had seemingly no idea he was a wizard. He behaved around him as he would with any ignorant muggle, although it was clear to Tom he posed as much of an inconvenience to the vampire as Ambrogio did to him. He’d clearly had colleagues before, if the random items left inside the drawers were any indication, but was accustomed to being on his own for quite a while. Tom couldn’t help but wonder what had become of his predecessors… It was highly likely Ambrogio had eaten them.
“What are you giggling about?” asked the vampire, his dry voice scratching across the office.
“Nothing, Mr. Oso,” said Tom with the same pleasant, boyish tone he used with Burke. “I was just clearing my throat. Quite dusty in here… If only were was a window we could open.”
“Well, there isn’t,” he said with a note of satisfaction. “Best get used to it.”
Fortunately, Tom didn’t have to spend too many hours with the fiend. He usually left at around five or six — a stark difference from his very first day when he left at midnight.
Most of the time, Tom had the whole place to himself. He became well acquainted with the auditorium and even asked the girl about it during one of their lunch breaks. Bringing her flowers probably helped — oleander, yellow carnations, and tuberoses. Between complaining about her landlord and detailing her dreams of seeing Paris, Tom slipped in more questions about work.
“Well, you were due to find out about it sooner or later,” she whispered, sitting close.
“What is it?” asked Tom, his long fingers curled around a cup of coffee — black. He had a childlike and eager expression, similar to how he felt when he first discovered the Chamber of Secrets.
“It’s something like a showroom,” she said, cupping her own coffee — full of cream and sugar. “They hold auctions there for books we don’t display upstairs.”
“Special books for special customers, I take it.”
“Well, they certainly think so.”
And from there emerged a conversation about the kind of personalities they were confronted with over the years, from naive parvenus to aggressive aristocrats, people who knew what they were talking about and those who didn’t, and worst of all those who clearly had an interest in the worst kinds of books.
“And Torchia…” she said, the words flowing out of her without intention — but then, when she realised what she’d just said, something froze in her and her words stumbled.
It was up to Tom to pull her through.
“Yes?” he prodded, his dark eyes fixed on her. He expected her to confess whatever they’d done to Clement. “You know I’ll keep whatever you say strictly between the two of us.”
She chewed on her lower lip, eyes flitting here and there like the wings of a butterfly caught in a storm.
“It will go up for auction,” she said at last, the whisper hot against his cheek. “I don’t know when, but there already is a buyer for it.”
“I thought these were auctions, not sales.”
“Not if you’re a personal friend of Ambrogio,” she smirked. “They set things up deliberately for someone to win. I think they charge different prices in secret.”
Tom leaned back, a faint smile on his lips. “That’s a dangerous game they’re playing…”
“Nothing can happen to them. The auctions are secret, the attendees are secret, none of them will go to the police even if they suspect preferential treatment... They’re more likely to cast curses at each other,” she joked.
“Hmm.”
“Honestly,” she sighed, leaning back as well and holding the coffee to her chest like a teddy bear, “I’ll be glad to see this book gone. It’s brought nothing but trouble.”
“Why do you say that?”
“Just… you know.”
“No, I don’t know.”
“Probably for the best…”
Tom looked at her in silence. She was retreating into herself again, her eyes distant and sad. There was a shiver around her shoulders in spite of the summer heat. She was afraid… and full of sorrow. He wondered what it would take for her to confide in him her darkest deeds… The poor thing likely didn’t how excited he’d be to hear them, how proud he’d be of her, his little murderess.
“By the way,” said Tom, “do you happen to know the name of this supposed buyer?”
“Yes, I’ve heard it once… Strange name, sounds French or something. Malfoy, I believe.”

Hogwarts Legacy Incorrect Quotes Part 4 (feat. my Hufflepuff!MC, Ellie)
Sebastian: Dear Diary, my teen angst bullshit now has a body count.
***
[At some point in the beginning of the game. Let's pretend that teachers are concerned with bullying]
Professor Weasley: What would you do if one of your classmates viciously teased you again and again?
Ellie: Oh, that’s easy. I’d take a quill—
Professor Weasley: To write something to your teacher?
Ellie: —make sure that it’s really sharp, and ram it into their eye at full tilt! Leander always says the quill is mightier than the sword because they can’t outlaw bringing quills to school!
Professor Weasley: *internal screaming*
***
Sebastian: I have yet to encounter a problem where an Unforgivable Curse didn't factor into the solution at least in some way.
Anne: This is why uncle doesn't fucking love you!
***
Ellie: You really put aside everything and came all this way for me? How did you even get here so fast?
Leander: Several school rules violations.
Ominis: Three counts of using my relations.
Garreth: Roughly thirteen vials of my latest experiment.
Imelda: Also, I used the enchanted bludgers to hurry them up.
***
[MC keeps using her friends to break into Ravenclaw common room]
Ravenclaw knocker: What is a dream?
Ominis: Dream - the first thing people abandon when they learn how the world works.
[the door opens]
Ellie: That's too dark, edgelord.
***
[After Astronomy lesson]
Garreth: Ellie has no survival skills, her need to win has replaced them.
Amit: That can't be true!
Garreth: Watch this.
Garreth: Hey Ellie, race you to the bottom of the stairs!
Ellie: *jumps from Astronomy tower*
***
[After she and Poppy freed a dragon]
Leander: What in Merlin's name is wrong with you??
Ellie: What? No good morning?
Leander: Good morning, what in Merlin's name is wrong with you??
***
[The squad gathers in the Room of Requirement]
Ellie: Alright, listen up you psychos.
Ellie: Not you, Amit. You’re an angel and we’re thrilled you’re here.
***
[In the goblin mines]
Ellie: We have fun, don’t we, Amit?
Amit: I have never been more stressed out in my entire life.
***
Ellie: We are not mad, Sebastian. We are just disappointed.
Ominis: No, we are mad.
Ellie: Yes. We are. We are livid. But we are going to let this one slide.
Ominis: No, we’re not!
Ellie: I am not a mind reader, Ominis!
***
Duncan: Everett, Ellie keeps bullying me, what should I do?
Everett: Ask a teacher for help.
[The next day…]
Duncan, to Professor Ronen: Will you help me beat up Ellie?
***
Professor Weasley: Godric's heart, how would you explain this kind of crude behaviour?
Sebastian: I'm gonna have to say verbally.
Ellie: Because judging by that tone of voice...
Garreth: ... You might not be in the mood for the dance performance we've prepared.
***
Ellie: That has to be the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.
Amit: For the benefit of everyone present, I will clarify this is not a challenge.
Sebastian, Poppy, Natty & Garreth: Awww...
***
Ellie *going on another quest*: If there's going to be a big dramatic scene, wait until I get back.
Poppy: Of course, I can't flip this table by myself.
***
[AU where Leander and Ellie are the ones who fight a troll in Hogsmeade]
Ellie: Just stay calm! You already have everything you need to beat it!
Leander: The power to believe in myself!?
Ellie: No, you already know Diffindo! Slash it!
***
Sebastian: Am I going to far?
Ominis: No, no, no. You went too far about 2 weeks ago. Now you’re going to Azkaban.
***
Ellie: *sneaking in Hufflepuff common room late at night*
Poppy: *sitting on a sofa and casting Lumos* You want to tell me where you've been all night?
Ellie: I was stargazing with Amit?
Amit: *sitting on another sofa and also casting Lumos* Wanna try again?
***
Ellie: I have so much energy, I want to compete with Imelda or commit a petty felony... which should I do?
Leander: Please don’t get arrested.
Ellie: No promises!
Sebastian: Why not both? Get creative!
Ellie: Wonderful suggestion, thank you.
Leander: Please don’t encourage her, Sebastian.
***
Amit: Small creatures are much more vicious because they have a smaller body to bottle up all their emotions.
Everett: Ridiculous. Give me some examples.
Duncan: Puffskeins?
Samantha: Cornish pixies?
Ellie *chilling in Ravenclaw common room*: Chomping Cabbages.
***
[the Squad at flying lesson]
Garreth, Leander, and Amit: *flying normally, enjoying the view and talking*
Imelda, Poppy, and Ellie: *flying past them, as fast as they can, chasing Duncan who is screaming*
***
Poppy: Could you at least try to see this from my perspective?
Natty: *crouches down*
Imelda: *kneels down*
Ellie: *sits on the floor*
Poppy: ...
Poppy: I hate all of you.
***
Ellie: *falls down the stairs*
Amit: Are you okay?
Leander: Stop falling down the stairs!
Duncan: How’d the ground taste?
Ellie: *getting up like nothing happened*
Ellie: *releases Chomping Cabbages*
Duncan: Mom, pick me up, I'm scared.

Testing the waters with an excerpt from a much larger WIP. What better way to kick off Pride Month than with a little self indulgent writing? Let me know if you wanna read the full story. Thanks!
AU originally written with an OC but figured this would be more fun for everyone
Patricia Rakepick x Fem Reader
Moonlight cast a silver glow upon the stone walls of Hogwarts as you and Patricia move in unison down the darkened corridors. Your footsteps the only sounds amidst the quiet of Hogwarts. Each of you carrying a wand at the ready, the warm light of Lumos piercing the shadows where secrets and dangers might lurk.
"Left here," Patricia murmurs, her voice low but clear in the quiet. "I've sensed something off in this wing for a few nights now."
You nod, allowing the curse-breaker to take the lead. It irks you to not be at the forefront, but you recognize the strategic advantage of Patricia's expertise in this arena. She is the one that attended the school after all.
"Feel it?" Patricia asks, pausing by a tapestry depicting the triumphs of long forgotten medieval wizards. She looks over her shoulder at you, her eyes flickering across your face as if gauging your expression.
"Like a static charge.” Your shoulders brushed, sending an unexpected jolt up your spine. "Residue of dark magic?"
"Could be," Patricia says, her gaze lingering on you a second longer than necessary. "Or it could be us— stirring up an unlikely chemistry.”
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," you quickly retorted, shutting down any attempts of deception or manipulation. Though you do feel your heart beating a little faster. The allure of Patricia's confidence is not lost on you, despite the repulsion of that admission, nor do you like the way it challenges you to rise to match the redhead’s energy. Even in jest, letting her win is not an option.
You continue your patrol, moving from one corridor to the next until the clock tower struck midnight, signaling a well-deserved break.
The kitchens provide a haven in the dead of night, with the scent of baking bread and simmering stews wafting through the room. House-elves stop their bustling to greet you with wide eyes and small bows. They scurry around, setting out an array of warm bread, cheeses, and a pot of steaming tea for you both.
You watch Patricia interact with the house-elves, her demeanor shifting from vigilant to gentle as she thanks them with a soft smile. It's a side of her that’s always uncanny to see—the softer, more caring side that hints at depths beyond her fierce exterior.
Seated at the wooden table, you both take in the comforting atmosphere of the warm kitchen. The crackling fire casts dancing shadows on the walls, adding an almost cozy charm to the hidden room.
Patricia pours two cups of tea and pushes one towards you, her eyes meeting yours in a moment of unspoken understanding. Despite the tension that often simmers between you, there is a shared camaraderie in moments like this. It feels like she’s a completely different woman compared to the usual sarcastic and cold witch that knows exactly what buttons to press to rile you up.
That’s not to say Patricia doesn’t have a sort of charm to her; the confidence in every stride she makes, the sway of her hips, her natural wit and intelligence that made her the forefront in any interaction she had.
The torches cast dancing shadows across Patricia’s face, softening her features. You felt a pull in your chest, like the strings of an instrument strumming a melody you’d never heard but always known.
"See something you like, Y/L/N?" Patricia teases.
You raise an eyebrow, refusing to let her fluster you with those piercing blue eyes. "Don’t flatter yourself. I’m enjoying a minute of respite before I have to go back to working with you."
“I can provide you a distraction from work if you let me.” Her tone lowered to a sultry whisper, her gaze unwavering as she leans in slightly, testing the boundaries of your resolve. Her closeness sends a shiver down your spine, an unexpected thrill mingling with the familiar tension that always crackles between you.
You hold her gaze steadily, refusing to show any signs of weakness as you reply, "I'm not here for your distractions, Rakepick. We have a job to do, remember?"
Patricia chuckles, a low, melodious sound that seems to echo in the cozy warmth of the kitchen. She leans back, swirling the tea in her cup thoughtfully before meeting your eyes once more. You swear feeling her foot brush up your calf as she shifts to cross her legs. "Always so serious. But don't worry, we'll get back to work soon enough."
The glint in Patricia's eyes hints at a mischievousness that you've come to expect from her. As the fire crackles and casts playful shadows in the kitchen, her smile is both inviting and challenging, a subtle invitation hanging in the air between you. You can never quite predict which version of Patricia Rakepick will surface— the focused curse-breaker or the enigmatic woman who revels in toeing the line between rivalry and something more.
"I only care about our obligations to protect," you reply coolly, lifting your tea to your lips and taking a deliberate sip. The warm liquid soothes your nerves, grounding you amidst the swirling emotions that Patricia seems to evoke effortlessly. "We can't afford distractions, not with what's at stake. Everyone residing here is counting on us to keep them safe. I for one, take that seriously.”
Patricia arches an eyebrow at your response, a look of something unreadable in her gaze. "Always the noble hero, aren't you?" she muses, her tone tinged with a hint of mockery that doesn't quite mask the underlying curiosity. "Distractions can be enlightening, you know.”
"Only if one knows how to handle them," you retort in a tone steadier than your heart.
The curse-breaker chuckles, a low sound that seems to edge you closer to the brink of insanity. For a moment you wonder whether you really would be better off locked away in the psych ward of St. Mungos. "Oh, I have quite the adept hand at managing…difficult situations."

A Lesson in the Patronus Charm
Pairings: Professor!Remus Lupin x Student!Reader

Plot: In the late hours at Hogwarts, you seek Professor Lupin's help to master the Patronus charm.
Warnings: age gap (reader is of age), fluff
_____________________________________________________
The Gryffindor common room was cloaked in a hushed stillness, the flickering fire casting dancing shadows on the walls. The soft snores of your fellow students echoed in the air as they peacefully slept, undisturbed by the weight that rested heavily on your shoulders. Your frustration had reached a boiling point; you couldn't master the Patronus charm, and the thought of facing the looming Dementors during the upcoming practical exams sent shivers down your spine.
Tossing and turning in your bed had proved futile, so you slipped out of the dormitory, determined to seek the guidance of the one person who could help—Professor Remus Lupin. Clad in your Hogwarts robes and clutching your wand, you navigated the darkened corridors, haunted by the ghostly glow of your own Lumos charm.
As you approached the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, doubt gnawed at your resolve. What if you were interrupting his rest? What if he was busy with preparations for the next day's classes? The anxiety swirled within you like a tempest, but the urgency to conquer the Patronus charm propelled you forward.
Gently, you rapped on the classroom door, the sound echoing through the quiet corridor. A nervous energy pulsed through you as you waited for a response. What if he didn't hear you? What if—
"Come in," Lupin's voice called from the other side.
Your heart skipped a beat, and you slowly pushed the door open. The room was bathed in the soft glow of a few candles, revealing Professor Lupin hunched over a desk strewn with parchment and quills. He looked up from his papers, a warm smile gracing his tired features.
"Ah, Miss L/N," he greeted, setting aside the papers. "What brings you here at this late hour?"
The warmth of his smile melted away your fears, and you stepped further into the room. "Professor, I've been struggling with the Patronus charm. I couldn't sleep, and I thought… I thought maybe you could help."
Remus' eyes softened with understanding. "Of course, I'm happy to help. The Patronus charm is a challenging one. Have a seat."
You took a deep breath, finding a chair across from his desk. As you shared your frustration and fears, Lupin listened attentively, offering words of encouragement. The flickering candlelight reflected in his eyes, casting a glow that seemed to chase away the darkness that clung to you.
With a reassuring nod, Remus stood and walked over to a small table where his wand rested. "Let's work on it together. Focus on that happy memory, and let the magic flow through you."
Frustration gnawed at you as you struggled to conjure your Patronus. Despite Professor Lupin's patient guidance, the ethereal form remained elusive, slipping through your grasp like elusive mist. Lupin observed silently, his eyes filled with encouragement.
"Focus on a positive memory," he suggested gently. "Something that fills you with joy."
Closing your eyes, you sought a happy moment, and his smiling face emerged, a beacon of warmth. As the incantation left your lips, a silver wolf materialized beside you, but the success was bittersweet as a tinge of disappointment lingered.
Lupin, however, said nothing, only offering a supportive nod. With a flick of his wand, he cast his own Patronus—a majestic wolf that joined yours in the magical space. The two wolves locked eyes, and without a word, they chased each other playfully, a dance of magic and connection that spoke volumes.
The room felt alive with the energy of their movements, and as the wolves settled down, Lupin's gaze met yours. There was a shared understanding in the silent exchange, a recognition of the unspoken emotions that had manifested in the form of their Patronuses. The wolves lay side by side, the air infused with a quiet, intimate connection that transcended words. In that moment, the boundaries between teacher and student blurred, a connection beyond the realms of academia. The air crackled with unspoken tension as your eyes locked onto Professor Lupin's.
"Love, in all its forms, shapes the Patronus," Lupin said, his voice a soft murmur that filled the quiet room. "It's not confined to one type. It's about the depth of the connection, the strength of the emotion."
The mention of love had cast a new light on the situation, and the room seemed to shrink as you both sat in the aftermath of his revelation. The weight of his words hung between you, a palpable connection.
Your heart thudded in your chest as you absorbed his words, realizing that the reason your Patronus took the form of a wolf was the profound love and admiration you held for him. The revelation stirred a mixture of emotions within you—gratitude for his guidance, a deep admiration for the man before you, and, perhaps, a sentiment that dared to flirt with the edges of romantic affection.
As if sensing the unspoken words lingering in the air, Lupin's gaze intensified. "And what about you, Miss L/N? What memory fueled your Patronus?"
You hesitated, then took a deep breath. "It's your smile, Professor. Every time I've struggled or felt lost, your kindness and your smile have been my anchor. I… I love the way you make me feel."
A soft, tender smile played on Lupin's lips, and he reached across the desk, his hand covering yours. The touch sent a jolt through you, and for a moment, the world outside ceased to exist.
"Love takes many forms," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "But we must tread carefully. The roles we play in each other's lives are defined by these walls and the rules they hold."
A moment of uncertainty passed between you, the forbidden nature of the emotions hanging in the air like the scent of a forbidden potion. Yet, in that moment, the walls seemed to crumble, leaving only the vulnerability of two souls drawn together by fate.
You locked eyes once more, the unspoken understanding lingering in the gaze you shared. "I can't deny what I feel, Professor Lupin," you confessed, your voice wavering with a mix of courage and vulnerability. "And I sense something in you too, something beyond the role of a teacher."
Lupin's thumb brushed gently over the back of your hand, and he sighed, a mixture of longing and resignation in his eyes. "Miss L/N, the path we're on is fraught with challenges. I won't jeopardize your future or my position as your teacher."
Your heart sank, but you nodded in understanding. "I'll graduate soon, Professor. And when I do, if you'll have me, I'll wait for you."
Lupin's gaze softened, and he nodded. "Patience is a virtue, they say. If it's meant to be, we'll find our way to each other when the time is right."
As the moon bathed the room in its soft glow, you couldn't help but feel a sense of hope mingled with the ache of longing. The forbidden romance had been acknowledged, the connection deepened, and the promise of a future hung in the air, leaving you both caught in the delicate dance between what was and what could be.

𝐌𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐀: 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫
@eulalielatibule
From one to five stars, how would you rate your writing? (No downplaying yourself!)
Hmm I'd say I'm like, 2.8? I'm pretty basic and don't do much editing but my stories are good and I'm proud of them!
2. What do you think makes your writing stand out from other works?
I think I excel at fluffy family fics. I just love writing good dads being sweet with their kids, especially daughters. Another thing that makes me stand out is how I write autistic!reader. I haven't seen anyone else write that for the Chris Evans fandom (not including Steve) so I'm proud to be the one to do it.
3. Are there any writers that inspire you?
Everyone in the server is so talented and they all inspire me in different ways. @a-lumos-in-the-nox puts out story after story with her OC and Ron Weasly and I just love that! Especially as someone who wants to start writing more OCs. @flordeamatista’s writing is so poetic and beautiful and I admire it so much
4. What’s the fic you’re most proud of?
I'm pretty proud of my Suburban Dad Sunday verse. It's done so well but it's also just very fun for me to write and it's letting me explore characters that I hadn't written for previously.
5. Which character(s) do you find easiest to write and which do you find most difficult to write?
Jake Jensen is definitely the easiest. Idk he's just so sweet and fun and the vibes are immaculate with him! The most difficult would probably be any dark character
6. Who or what do you find yourself writing about most?
I write a lot about Jake and fluff/hurt and comfort.
7. Tell us about a WIP you’re excited about!
I have a Lloyd Hansen fic with a living music box ballerina. It'll be a giant/tiny fic which I know isn't super popular but I find it so comforting and I'm excited to share it!
8. First fandom you ever wrote for?
I believe it was Phantom of the Opera 🙈😂
9. Any guilty pleasure trope(s)?
I can't think of any tropes, but I do love reading daddy kink fics lmao
10. A trope you’ll never, ever write for.
I mean never say never, but I do not like enemies to lovers. Idk why, I just can't get behind it. I also will likely never write a mob au.
11. Wildest fic you’ve ever written?
Probably my most recent one with Jake Jensen x Reader x Ari Levinson. H-O-T-T-O-G-O was my first time writing a throuple and it was interesting!
12. Favorite pairing to write for? (platonic or romantic!)
I love writing Lloyd Hansen and his Reader for SDS. He's just so funny and petty and it's fun to see his shenanigans!
13. Do you listen to anything while you write?
No, I get too distracted. I need it to be quiet while I write. I do have playlists to help me get into the right headspace or to help with muse.
14. One-shots or multi-chaptered works?
One shots all the way
15. Have you ever daydreamed about side adventures/spin-offs from your fic? Tell us about them!
All the time! Although I feel like most of my fics are little side quests to one big story/universe. I want to do more with The Purrfect Pair- Kitten is so cute and there's lots of potential for mischief with her and Wanda.
16. Is there anything you’ve wanted to write, but you’ve been too scared to try?
Soooo many things. I want to write a smutty series but smut is just so hard for me to write for some reason. I admire those who write it so effortlessly!
17. What’s the nicest comment you’ve ever received?
There are many comments that I hold near and dear to my heart. Recently I got a comment from @thezombieprositute who said my ability to turn simple prompts into heart warming stories was a testament to my skills and it really made my day.
18. Have you ever gone outside of your comfort zone for a fic? How did it turn out?
A long time ago I wrote a Wanda Maximoff x Steve Rogers Halloween fic. It was on my old account so it isn't around anymore, though I might repost it here. It was definitely a challenge as it was more involved and took a lot of world building. It turned out okay, but maybe I'll revisit it and do some editing!
19. Tooth-rotting fluff or merciless angst?
Fluff, all the time.
20. Do you have any OCs? Tell us about them!
Do I?? I have so many. Thank you for the time to infodump about some of my favorites lmao
I have Eloise Montgomery who is a sexretary for Pete Brenner. Her face claim is Sydney Sweeney!
There's also Charles Randolph who is similar to Ransom in that he's a bratty rich boy who I pair with Ari Levinson. His face claim is Logan Lerman.
I have soooo many but they are my favorites!
21. If you could enter the universe of any one of your fics, which would it be and why?
Oh gosh, that's hard. Probably my The Purrfect Pair au. I want to live in a cottage with Wanda Maximoff more than anything!
22. Is there anything you wish your audience knew about your writing or writing process?
I can't think of anything in particular. It just takes me a while to write because of burn out and stuff but I love it and I love sharing it with everyone 🩷
23. Copy and paste an excerpt you’re particularly fond of.
Oof this is hard for some reason but I do like this from Pine-ing For You
One time when you both were drunkenly singing All I Want for Christmas is You, he pulled you over to the plant hanging from the ceiling and kissed you straight on the mouth. It was a chaste, puckered lips type of kiss and yet it still made your heart flutter from excitement. You both carried on as if nothing happened, never brought it up when you were sober. You eventually decided the incident was merely drunken shenanigans and nothing more, although a part of you wanted to feel his plush lips against yours again.
24. Ramble about any fic-related thing you want!
I'm excited for all that I have planned this year and I hope I can venture into some new territory with my fic writing. I appreciate everyone's support, you all mean the world to me! 🙏🏼
