Continuing on the whole "Alola thinks Mega Evos are bad!" thing... even though there ARE potential dangers associated with Mega Evolution that are touched upon even in the Generation they were introduced in, it was always framed in a way that suggested that any complications with Mega Evos tended to be the result of inexperience or other external factors. Not to mention that some Gen 7 Dex entries absolutely frame certain Mega Evo entries in such a way that it reinforces the cultural bias instead of challenging it. Like they carried out experiments to gather data on Mega Evolutions, but in such a way that the results were guaranteed to favor their already skewed viewpoints that favored the use of Z-Moves instead. Like a "We, the Obviously Biased Group of People, have done an internal investigation on whether or not we are in the wrong about this thing and have concluded that, on totally fair grounds, we are absolutely right and correct about this thing all the time forever." sort of thing.

In the vamp!SKZ AU, vampires are highly attuned to blood composition—not just for flavor, but survival. Their entire feeding experience is a chemical, hormonal, emotional interaction. Blood is more than liquid—it’s data. Memory. Soulprint.

That means blood disorders like sickle cell, thalassemia, hemophilia, etc., do register differently. But not as “gross” or “impure.” Vampire tongues and scent receptors don’t classify by human ideas of normal—they register signature. Think: distinct melody, not broken song.

⚙️ BIO-VAMP PHYSIOLOGY:

Abnormal vampires (like Chan, Minho, Hyunjin, Felix and Jeongin) have ultra-refined palates and metabolically enhanced processing systems. They can read your blood like a fingerprint.

Sun and Moon are some of the only pokemon games I managed to play upon their release, also the only game I managed to play both versions of LMAO they're extremely dear to me-

AITA for inviting my archenemy and his (ex?) girlfriend on a date the same time same place?

So some background info, I (17M) joined Ls (M 19 at the time) fight against his ultra neglectful father and extended family when I was 12. It was an easy decision considering they also neglect my mom (∞F) and I was tired of the disrespect she received and is still receiving. I just want to make her proud and get her some acknowledgement for all she did for them through centuries, you see. The fact that the summer camp they run made me and a lot of other kids sleep on the floor also helped.

Long story short, we lost horribly. L got killed at age 23, most of my friends died when two people from the summer camp exploded our main base ship and the neglectful parents™ killed my siblings (admittedly because of a wrong decision I made), twisted my mom's arm to stop fighting and kicked me out of the summer camp for life.

Now, this left me immensely angry at my archenemy, let's call him P (17M) as he was one of the people that blew up our ship, the leader of who we were fighting against, and as I suspect, responsible for Ls death so I swore vengeance to avenge the deaths of the people I loved.

Now the problem is, P had broken up with A (17F) as the amount of power he has scared both of them and he didn't want to hurt her. Apparently it happened at an unplanned trip to Ps uncle Hs (∞M) basement and my previous boss Ks (∞M) jail. I have no idea how they even ended up there. Despite my murder attempts P had been incredibly kind to me and denies that he killed L/K. I CANNOT put my undying hatred for this man into words but after a few unintentional date nights I think I have fallen in love with him.

Around this time A found me. One thing that I and everyone around me know is just how protective A and P are of eachother. One time my late friend E(17M) tried to stab P in his weakest point and A took a poisoned knife for him. P broke his nose in retaliation, I think if E hadn't escaped P would've killed him right there. Anyways, A is also very possessive and didn't take being broken up out of nowhere very well due to her abandonment issues. The thing is, she, like me, also looked up to L and we used to be friends when I was at the summer camp. After some mental warfare, a knife fight and some crying about L, one thing led to another and we ended up going on dates.

Neither A and P are aware I also meet up with the other but from what I've heard from them, they sound like they were a very dysfunctional and codependent couple. I feel like they're just using me to fill up their loneliness and as a person to vent up about their increasing resentment towards the neglectful parents™, almost like a pet passed between two exes.

I talked about this with Es ghost, who called me an idiot, and my mom and adopted dad (40+/dead,M) both pointed out I was as lonely as A and P.

So Aita for inviting both of them to the same date because I want to sort things out?

second! i know that the Abnormal and Normal vampires are extremely quick and can travel some distance, but does that distance have a limit? not necessarily like teleportation, but more like short bursts of extreme speed? or is it prolonged? I’m also super curious as to if they have to like consciously control that speed in order to assimilate better or if they choose when/if to use it,,, and how the blood doll, s/o or soulmate effects this ability (if they do)

We’re talking not teleportation, but short-to-mid range ultra-speed, like blinking across a room or breaking the sound barrier down an alleyway. You are CORRECT—both Normal and Abnormal vamps can move fast, but there’s nuance, darling. SO MUCH NUANCE.

🧬 1. THE SPEED TIERS

🩸 Abnormal Vampires

Always born, never turned. They’re the result of a rare, unstable mutation in the vampiric gene—either a cursed bloodline or a biological anomaly.

Their speed is biological + magical + soul-reactive.

It’s not just physical—it warps light, sound, and sometimes perception.

They can move so fast they “blur”—you don’t see them leave, they were just suddenly never there.

They also accelerate mid-combat, which means?

He’s getting faster the more he’s focused on you. Run.

🧛 Normal Vampires

Can be born or turned. Born Normals have clean vampire genetics without mutation. Turned Normals were once human.

Still stupid fast. Like, Olympic sprinter meets panther in heat fast.

Limited to short bursts—fast travel over large distances exhausts them.

They can't phase-shift like Abnormals can—but they can catch a moving vehicle on foot, no problem.

🧠 2. IS IT CONSCIOUSLY CONTROLLED?

YES. Every vampire has to learn to dial it down or else humans would be screaming constantly.

Imagine trying to open a car door and ripping it off. Or trying to dodge a rude stranger and accidentally ending up on the next street over.

They are trained (especially the court-raised or military-trained ones) to regulate their burst threshold. Think of it like having access to multiple gears:

🥱 1st gear: blending in with humans, normal walking pace

🚶‍♂️ 2nd gear: fast walk, evasive, graceful

🏃‍♂️ 3rd gear: running, leaping, reflex reactions

💨 4th gear: predator mode—blink, vanish, blink again

A soulmate in danger = instant unlock of ALL gears + blood-rage mode.

Some Abnormals even experience a phenomenon called “Speed Feedback Overdrive,” where time distorts entirely because their heart is beating in sync with their mate’s panic.

Some Abnormals are also known to vanish and reappear only where their soulmate is. Not teleportation—just hyper-fixated navigation + blood sense + obsession.

Bang Chan: Has perfect control over his speed. Moves silently. Vanishes mid-word when you trip. Reappears behind you: “I’ve got you. Of course I’ve got you.”

Changbin: Too fast, too strong, tries to slow down for you but still overshoots a hug by five feet.

Hyunjin: Blurs like a haunting. Dramatic with it. Will literally zoom past and leave flower petals spinning in the wind.

Jisung: Runs like a golden retriever on Red Bull, forgets momentum exists.

Felix: Gets flustered when you call him a blur. Will literally slow his whole gait to match yours hand-in-hand.

Seungmin: Precision fast. Calculated. Insulted someone? Gone. You didn’t even see it.

Jeongin: Awakening abnormal. Gets dizzy going too fast. You have to catch him sometimes.

"A color enhancement of an ultra-violet photograph of the geocorona, a halo of low density hydrogen around Earth. Sunlight is shining from the left, and the geocorona is brighter on that side. The UV camera was operated by astronaut John W. Young on the Apollo 16 lunar landing mission. It was designed and built at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C. While astronauts Young, commander, and Charles M. Duke Jr., lunar module pilot, descended in the Lunar Module (LM) 'Orion' to explore the Descartes highlands region of the moon, astronaut Thomas K. Mattingly II, command module pilot, remained with the Command and Service Modules (CSM) 'Casper' in lunar orbit."
