So is the little villain au DFO? If so, it's hilarious to imagine AFO's reaction when he tracks down this new upstart villain who's been making a nightmare for the HPSC (good) but hasn't paid proper homage to him (bad), only to find out its his adorable five year old, founding a new criminal empire already! They grow up so fast! Now he can have all sorts of new daddy son experiences!

Yeah this is basically what happened, at first All for One thought someone was using Izuku because his son was five, but nope, Izuku did it all on his own. You can imagine the whiplash All for One got from finding this out, for a man that has seen everything that was a first. Although how I imagined them meeting changed this was originally the prompt for it:

All for One had been struggling through a unnecessarily hard process of meeting the boss of a growing villainess organisation, that seems to know how everything goes before it happens. But no matter how much All for One tried, the members refuse to let him have any contact with their leader. It isn't until after he forces his way into one of the organisations strong holds and finally come face to face with their mysterious leader did he realise why they been so relucted.

"What's wrong?" A four year old with green curly hair, and freckles yawned, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Having just woken up from his afternoon nap, something he couldn't escape from these days.

All for One stared down at his four old son, sleepily tumble off his bed, blanket still in hand. "Oh" All for One whispered, not quite sure if he should be proud or angry, so he chose surprised instead.

I know it's not official so grain of salt; but this is really sus that AFO knows that A) Bakugou grew up watching All might winning and wanting to be just like him (to win). B) The fact that he also knows that Bakugou was blinded by his ego, instead of what Tomura though of before was that Bakugou was oppressed in hero society. And C) AFO knows that Bakugou feared being in Izuku shadow no matter how hard he tried to be stronger then Izuku.

it's disturbing that AFO knows so much about Bakugou fears that have stemmed from his childhood, and considering that Bakugou was friends with the doctors grandson, I have a feeling AFO been keeping an eye on Bakugou for a lot longer then realises.

Sure!

Some more funny facts over this:

-Despite being a five year old boy who looks like a cinnamon roll that could kill you, Nagant find Izuku miles better then her old employees and becomes the wine aunt group.

-She convinces Hawks to join them via hot gossip, chicken wings and the joint power of flipping off the commission together.

-All for One follows around Izuku when the boy is doing his jobs, so you have little pre-school Izuku running around trying to set up an organisation with All for One chilling in the background, occasionally helping Izuku reach tall places.

-This backfires one day when they run into All Might at the shops.

-Izuku stops Toya from exploding into flames by spraying water on him every time he burst into flames.

-Toya follows Izuku soon after, he say it's because of the fire resistance quirk he got, but Toya also set Izuku up to play with Shoto every now and again, so yeah.

-When AFO finds out Izuku ate the replica of his quirk to get it, he never lets the child live it down.

-Izuku also takes quirks from AFO, but never anyone else, he get's them ethically, like a good kid, AFO the exception.

-Izuku meets Tomura and humbles him real fast, but then Tomura also basically adopts Izuku as his little brother

-Inko is has an interesting backstory in this AU.

-Izuku doesn't know All for One is his dad, everyone else guess it five minutes into seeing them together.

-Doctor Ujiro and Izuku hate each others guts, but unfortunately the Doc is the only one who can treat the All for One quirk and Izuku injuries.

-Izuku lowkey ditches bakugou because there are more pressing matters and bakugou actually misses Izuku.

-Izuku really underestimates learning to control All for One the quirk.

Izuku travels back in time fix it AU...with a twist.

11 pm idea that hit me one night (might have been done before but hey, here's my turn at the idea) Izuku is transported back into his Five year old self, and has the chance to do everything all over again; and makes things right this time...

But there are several problems getting in the way of saving everyone, namely that he's a quirkless five year old, that has none of his friends, allies or strength he had in his teens. All of them don't know he exist, plus half of them are toddlers. There's also a lot of stuff that won't happen until much later, not to mention he isn't sure how a lot of stuff came to be. He has no idea how Dabi survived were toga grew up, and Tomura has already killed his family four years prior and is living somewhere with All for One.

He knows won't get OFA until he's fifteen, and he's not even sure he might this time around. Because changing history means that All Might won't get injured and never have a reason to pass it on. Getting it when he's four would be impossible since he's young, and because people might not believe him when he say's he from the future, and can he blame them?

So after thinking over all the options, Izuku decides that if he can't be a hero, then he's going to be a villain...or at least pretend to be one so that he can stop the villains before they become huge threats. Basically Izuku decides to fight fire with fire, which he cranks up to 100 because he know a way to get a strong power that could go toe to toe with All for One and the person to go to get it from.

So Izuku sneaks into All for One doctors office and get's a hold of the replica of All for One quirk, with added hijinks. Now Izuku my have the replica nicely stored away in a glass tube, but he doesn't know how to acquire it... so he just decides to eat it because it worked the first time.

It's not meant to work like that, but for Izuku it does, after falling sick for like three days. Because eating a quirk wasn't the best idea. But who cares Izuku now got All for One, foresight on future events and his New villain career to kick off at the ripe old age of five.

And boy does he go off with a bang, by breaking Nagant out of Tartarus (Izuku needed a body guard, and Nagant was innocent), convincing hawks to run away from the HC (it was Nagant idea really) and recruiting the number two hero eldest son (Well Toya more recruited himself) among other things.

This unsurprisingly, this get's All for One's attention, but Izuku sure that he won't get caught because who would expect "quirkless five year old Deku" to the the next be up and coming villain? Apparently All for One, because the guy awkwardly walks in to his preschool one day, picks him up and is both quite shocked and amused to find this villain, that's been causing the Hero commission so much strife, is just a four year old boy.

Izuku thinks this might be the end, but instead of snipping of this bud before it grow, All for One decides he'll let Izuku keep doing what he's doing, because the whole things amusing. Except Izuku still "only a baby, not quite a big bad villain yet" so All for One will be "probably supervising" Izuku growth into villainy.

Izuku doesn't know weather to yell in joy at getting a one up on All for One or scream in anguish that now he's got the worst villain in the world making him his personal pet project.

Izuku decides to burn that bridge when he get's there.

I have more of this AU if anyone wants to know about it, but just baby toddler villain Izuku getting followed around by his older villain father, during his first errands. All dress up in his preschool uniform carry several books on "how to commit crimes and get away with it" well telling AFO to buzz off.

Endeavor’s (potential) death and Bojack Horseman

SPOILERS FOR MY HERO ACADEMIA CHAPTER 350//

So seeing a lot of discussion about Endeavor and what he deserves - should he die, should he be in jail etc. And honestly I’m ruling out him going to jail since japanese cultural norms don’t seem to see familial abuse as a going-to-jail crime (still pretty nasty though) and none of his family have brought it up (I also think it wouldn’t be the right thing for his family anyway for reasons I’ll get to later).

So, death.

I think if he does die it won’t be from Touya killing him. Enji is too much of a focus character to be killed like that, and it would represent the “failure” of his character arc. He’s a man who wants to redeem himself from his failure as a father, and the biggest failure is his neglect of Touya leading him to plot to kill him. For both Touya and Enji’s character arcs to end in “success”, Touya can’t succeed in his villainous goals. Touya himself can’t die either (because he WANTS to die) so lets rule out any murder-suicides.

So, if Enji does die, it would be in saving his children. And I think the child he has to save primarily is Touya. He looked away from Touya 10 years ago, so he has to look at him now (even though the plot currently has him far away from Touya there’s enough highlighting of this fact to know it will be corrected at some point). I’ve seen some people suggesting (mostly on reddit) that he’ll die saving Shoto from Touya but that wouldn’t be a “success” - it’ll just be seen by Touya as him putting Shoto above him. So while he can save Shoto, he has to save Touya as well.

And this would be a “success” for his character arc and Touya’s character arc in many ways (and Shoto to a lesser extent but I feel like Shoto’s arc with Enji is different and mostly resolved at this point)! He would show in one great act that he can put his children’s lives above his (his original sin being putting his own ambitions over the welfare of his children) and it would match the foreshadowing of his dream where his family are eating happily around the table but he isn’t there with them,

BUT! I don’t think this would be the best resolution, and this is where Bojack Horseman comes in.

So for people who don’t know, Bojack Horseman is an adult cartoon about a depressed alcoholic horse (sounds weird but it’s actually really good)

SPOILERS FOR BOJACK HORSEMAN

So, both Bojack and his best friend Diane have abusive parents - for Bojack, his mother, for Diane, her father. And over the series both parents die. And there’s one episode, Free Churro, where Bojack attends his mothers funeral and gives a eulogy (its a great episode and can be watched standalone).

And one of the great things about the episode is it addresses the difficulty in mourning an abusive parent. Bojack talks about Diane’s father, how she felt sad when he died even though “she never even liked the guy” because it meant the chance of him ever being a good father was gone forever. Bojack himself talks about how on her deathbed his mother looked at him and said “I see you” - and those words both made him very happy but also very angry. Because his mother finally acknowledged him, but at the same time she waited until the last moment to do it. He realised she could have done that the entire time, but didn’t, which meant she actively chose to be a bad mother his entire life until then.

And going back to MHA, I think this is where the issue with Enji dying as a “solution” comes. Because his whole character arc is him realising he could have been a good father the entire time, but put his ambition first every time. So him “Seeing” Touya and then promptly biting it- no, it doesn’t work, and leaves a hole in the Todoroki family. Because despite Enji thinking that the only way to atone is to seperate from his family, that isn’t the real solution. Obviously he needs to give his family freedom and space - Natsuo for example doesn’t want anything to do with his dad. But on the other hand as Rei said, “running away” was his sin. He needs to be their for his family, and ESPECIALLY Touya. He doesn’t get to run away this time, especially not by dying.

I’ll go ahead and plug @hanashimas​ for the superior translation of this chapter I’ve seen thus far. (The fan translations I’ve seen have been...really inaccurate, both this week and last.)

(“But Pika, why didn’t you translate anything? Could it be you’re avoiding talking about-?” Yes. Yes I am. I’m going to ignore everything else in this chapter until Horikoshi has the chance to explain himself lol.)

Anyways, every page in this chapter is FLUFF in comparison to the bombshell that was this page and we should all be scanning it for clues like Nick Cage with the Declaration of Independence:

This is so huge HOW ARE WE NOT ALL TALKING ABOUT THIS???

This basically confirms that AFO has the same relationship with the vestige in his quirk that All Might does with his own. HORIKOSHI IS SPECIFICALLY BRINGING UP THE COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE PERSON AND THEIR VESTIGE AND THROWING JAZZ HANDS UP AROUND AFO.

So yeah.

We know who the traitor is now

Premise 1

AFO leaves vestiges of himself in the quirks of those he passes to other people.

Evidence: His identical ego (vestige) taking over Shigaraki’s body, his remote knowledge of the assassins he sends after Izuku, particularly Lady Nagant’s defection

Premise 2

AFO communicates indistinctly with his vestiges via vague emotions.

Evidence: Chapter 328 (as referenced above), that conversation he had with the guard in Tartarus in chapter 94, the repeated references to AFO’s emotions as an important plot point, AFO’s plan to use Shigaraki’s emotion of hatred to overpower One For All and steal it, AFO's commentary on heart/emotions as he remotely blows up Lady Nagant

Premise 3

AFO left a vestige of himself in the Power Stockpiling quirk that became One For All.

Evidence: AFO “hearing his little brother’s voice” all the way from Tartarus, whatever the fuck is happening here, Machia picking up two separate objects with his master’s scent as Shigaraki and berserk!Izuku face each other in chapter 286

Premise 4

All intel leaked to AFO and the League of Villains was available to Izuku.

Evidence: The intel leaked was the location of the USJ, that Thirteen and All Might would be with the class, and the location of the summer camp. Izuku knew all of it by the time the intel was acted upon by the villains.

Oh, and this:

Premise 5

The leaked information was not specific to knowledge but discernible via emotional reaction.

Evidence: Re: chapter 328 All For One could only know specific information if it was communicated TO him via Radio Waves (he couldn’t be the one using Radio Waves).

Regarding the leaked intel:

Izuku was emotionally excited to learn Thirteen would be teaching the class at the USJ

Izuku only learned All Might would not be joining the class right as the League of Villains showed up

The League didn’t know Eraserhead would be there; Izuku had no emotional reaction to Eraserhead that day, having already met him as the homeroom teacher days before

The League didn’t know the kids’ quirks because that isn’t information knowable via an emotional reaction

Izuku’s location was off-campus, so his coordinates may be knowable when he has an emotional reaction

Izuku’s location at the summer camp would thus also be knowable the moment he gets excited about meeting the Wild Wild Pussycats, and only AFTER that do we see the Vanguard Action Squad congregating nearby (before that they’re waiting in a warehouse)

AFO didn’t know Izuku and the others were sneaking around in Kamino, but Izuku had already HAD his emotional reactions for the day by the time they went to Kamino (and AFO would have been distracted by Shigaraki, Katsuki, and All Might through most of it anyway)

AFO could come to conclusions about what’s happening in post-Kamino society from Izuku’s emotions without knowing the true specifics, hence his conversation with All Might in Tartarus above

AFO “hears his little brother’s voice” as Izuku has an emotional reaction to Monoma’s taunting during training (and THEN Blackwhip manifests, so Katsuki may be right that AFO had something to do with it)

Conclusion

Izuku is the (unwitting and non-malicious) traitor

He’s bugged, your honor.

I’m struggling with the disappointment of Schrodinger’s waifu:

At this point in MHA, new characters should be background/cannon fodder because we already have a gigantic cast that needs attention, but at the same time…..

Ugh, not another thicc lady added for internet hype and used as cannon fodder after 4 chapters.

And I did want to see All Might use his experience, privilege, connections, etc. He always had more to contribute. But All Might acting in lieu of the government and calling in an American “She-Might” (named after and draped in the US flag) who rejects international cooperation and arrives in Japan on what appears to be a B-2 stealth bomber is…yikes. It’s a LOT of uncomfortable. And after we ducked out of political territory by not exploring the HPSC’s assassination program, I don’t expect this to become any kind of commentary on US-Japan relations.

What’s left to explore with this new best girl that could really matter to the story? Another aspect of All Might’s past to help him remember his origin? Some kind of family or love interest for All Might (which feels SO weird to introduce at this point)? A new English teacher for the kids so Mic can be with Aizawa? The first line of defense to be killed by AFO/Shiggy (ok but then it’s another dead female character). It was one thing to introduce Nighteye out of nowhere after 120 chapters. He then stayed in the story for nearly 40 chapters, with impact that still lingers now. I’m finding it hard to be excited, especially after the way this arc handled All Might’s relationship with Izuku and 1A. Maybe things will pan out just fine, because the first half of the chapter sounded good, but I am so worried we are back to execution issues (again).
