“Shit shit shit! Im gonna be late” I say running down stairs grabbing an apple and running out the door but not before saying good by to mom “bye mom, I’ll see you when i get home!” Good thing I live 10 minutes away from UA

-UA entrance-

*God damn this school is huge, Mom what have i gotten myself into? Ugh oh well were here now I-* someone bumped into me making me lose focus

“Excuse me, do you have eyes?” I ask grabbing my scattered books off the ground.“OMG! I-I’M SO SORRY LET ME HELP YOU” the green haired boy said picking up my chemistry book and hands it to me. He kinda looked… how do I put this… plain

“Wait, y-you’re L/n right?” He asked dusting off his pants. My eyes widen

*how the hell does he know who i am?*

“Um yes, thats me…” i say

“Oh, jeez that must of sounded creepy as hell, its just your one out of the two students that got excepted into UA outta recommendations only.” He said scratching the back of his neck

*one out of two? So who’s the other one? Huh… wait why does he look so…*

“OMG! YOU’RE THE KID WHO SMASHED THAT HUGE ROBOT!!!” I scream making everyone around pause and stare at us making his shoulders tense up, his cheeks turned the slightest shade of pink. It was kinda cute actually. “Sorry, its just that was awesome! I didn’t think you’d make it since you pretty much broke every bone in your body.” I say laughing and he was just looking at me

*GOD shut up Y/n you’re gonna scare him off like you alway do. Ugh, maybe this is why i don’t have anyone. God I’m such a loser…*

“Y-you thought i-it was awesome?” He said smiling and rubbing his hands threw his hair I look up at him “everyone said it was kind reckless, and honestly…” he paused for a second and looked down “it was but, I had to do something… I just got thi-“ he froze and cut himself off

*What. The. Hell?*

“well would you look at the time class if about to start we dont wanna be late on our first day L/n, come on lets go!” He says running into the huge building…

*here we go, let’s hope I don’t fuck this up. I’m doing this for mom just like she wanted.*

"True Way"

Anime: My Hero Academia

Pairing: Todoroki Shoto x (oc)Shimizu Yuki

Genre: Supernatural powers, romance, angst, (very lame) detective

Warnings: Swearing, mentions of blood, murder, dark

Summary: All Yuki ever wanted was to find her family. However, she knew that it was not gonna be easy. The only way she knew was through U.A. High, but she had never thought just how much more complicated things would get

A/N: This is my personal work with my original character for the main hero. I do not own the rest of the "MHA" characters

ANIME SPOILERS PROCEED WITH CAUTION

Chapter 2

"Assimilation"

“I can’t wait to put on my hero costume!” The invisible girl named Hagakure Tooru squealed in excitement, running in an almost child-like fashion through the tall halls of the U.A., holding her costume case above her head.

“Me too! Who do you think is going to look the coolest?” Asked the bubbly girl named Uraraka Ochaco, who had come in with a scared-looking green-haired boy the day prior.

“I think everyone’s gonna look super cool! I’ve been thinking about my costume ever since I was little!” Ashido Mina exclaimed walking after Tooru, jumping slightly with joy.

“Same!” agreed Tooru.

Soon, the door of the changing rooms appeared in sight, and the boys and girls entered their respective rooms. Yuki opened a free locker and put her schoolbag inside. She opened her case with her brand new hero costume and held it upwards, inspecting it.

Unlike most of her classmates, Yuki had never exactly thought of her hero costume design. She had never thought that she’d ever become a hero. In fact, her costume was specifically and meticulously designed by her dear sister – Ayumi.

It was a skin-tight black full-body halterneck suit, a light-blue corset with white stripes enveloping it at the top. Adorning her lower half was a knife-pleated skirt of the same color palette and plain white, knee-high, and tight-fitting short-heeled boots. The costume also featured long, finger loop gloves that nearly reached her shoulders and matched the corset in design with a thin white choker fitting perfectly around her neck to complete the body. Finally, her head was also framed by black goggle-esque glasses with a brown leather strap.

Assembling it sure was a challenge, the cloth was fitting a little too tight, unnecessarily exaggerating every curve. However, the second Yuki looked at herself in the mirror, her eyes grew wide. ‘I gotta give Ayumi more credits’ she thought, checking her reflection. Fixing her hair which got messy after putting on the glasses, she looked around the room, seeing other girls in amazing costumes. Ashido was right. They did look super cool.

Putting her uniform neatly into her locker, the girl exited the changing rooms to wait for everyone else outside. Closing the door behind her, Yuki noticed Todoroki leaning against the wall. His eyes were closed as if he was resting. He was already fully dressed up, wearing a plain off-white shirt with matching pants and boots and what looked like ice which was covering his whole left side.

“Nice costume.” Yuki retorted, leaning against the opposite wall.

“Thanks.”

“Glad to see you in a good mood.” She chuckled at Shoto’s usual monotone and plain response.

“What do you mean?” Todoroki looked at her intently, frowning ever so slightly.

“You’re not exactly a talkative type, so I’d assume it’s your usual mood.” He remained silent, furthermore proving her point. Yuki decided to leave things as it is, not pushing the guy into talking against his will.

For the next few minutes, more people were walking out of the changing rooms, fully dressed up in their hero costumes until soon enough, everyone was ready to take off to their Hero Basic Training class.

“You all look incredible, young and future heroes!!!” The number one hero in the world, All Might, cried out in delight at the sight of his students. “All right!!! For the exercise the rules are simple. You will be partaking in a series of mock battles. In each battle, you will be broken into two pairs. One pair will be acting as the heroes, while the other will be playing the role of the villains. The objective of the villains is to guard a nuclear weapon that they intend to deploy. Meanwhile, the heroes must act quickly to secure the weapon safely and stop a potential disaster. If the heroes capture the villains or reach the nuclear weapon before the time runs out, they will be the winners. If the villains manage to keep the nuclear weapon secure by the time runs out or they manage to subdue the heroes, they will be the victors instead!”

Under the somewhat confused gazes of the students, All Might announced the first battle. The teams are drawn from lots and All Might announces that team A of that green-haired boy, named Midoriya Izuku Ochaco would face team D of those from before – the right man and a delinquent guy – Iida Tenya and Bakugo Katsuki. With that, team D headed inside first whilst everyone else was gathered in the monitor room to watch the battle from a safe distance.

Yuki stood among her new classmates in the dark room, where the only source of light was the flickering from the monitors. There was no sound coming, however. Only after the sound announced the beginning of the battle, everyone knew that it was rather a blessing, because Bakugo Katsuki turned out to be as much of a blast guy as his quirk.

Cameras were shaking, poor Midoriya tried his best to fight the blonde guy, but their combat skills were on different levels. Katsuki had no trouble throwing Izuku into the walls, over his shoulder, he even blasted a grenade at him at some point which got everyone shaken up with fear and worry.

Yuki concentrated on the fight, frowning at how could someone be this unreasonably cruel. In her mind appeared an image – what would she do if she was put up against such an explosive guy? Would she even survive? She had no answer to these questions. She was deep in thought that she didn’t even notice how Midoriya turned the fight in his favor, shattering the whole building, which resulted in his and Ochaco’s victory, as well as his broken arms.

The next battle had Yuki gasp in shock mixed with admiration. The villain’s team was a cute guy with a big and strong tail, Ojiro Mashirao, and the invisible girl, Tooru. Everyone watched through the monitor as they entered the building and gathered around the payload on the fourth floor. Though they were unfortunate enough to be against Todoroki and Shoji Mezo, a tall very muscular guy with six arms. The two entered the building minutes later, and Shoto proceeded to use his quirk to completely freeze the building and his opponents almost instantly, therefore ending the battle in a matter of minutes.

Yuki was stunned. Witnessing such power she could only dream of, she felt chills run down her spine. Although, it could be Todoroki’s quirk. Starring wide-eyed at the monitors, she suddenly saw something unbelievable. Todoroki Shoto was melting the ice he created. Yuki felt her breath stuck in her throat. Amused, she suddenly realized that they had more things in common than she originally thought.

“Nervous?” Yuki asked her partner, Sato Rikido, another buff guy from the class, as they both stood in front of the building, waiting for the signal to enter.

“Kind of.” He rubbed the back of his neck, taking out sugar cubes out of his belt pouch. “All Might is watching after all!”

“True.” Yuki turned her head to the guy standing next to her. “I’ll scout the territory; you head in carefully. Who we’re against again?”

“Mineta and Yaoyorozu-san.”

“Mineta is that short boy with weird purple balls on his head and Yaoyorozu is the one who got in through recommendation?”

“Yes. I believe so.” He put a finger on his chin. “You got a plan?”

“First I have to see what they’re doing.” The second the words fell out of her mouth, she fixed her goggles on her face, as her feet got off the ground, and she started floating. “I’ll take a look from the outside.”

Earning a nod from her partner, Yuki flew up a few floors, carefully, like a spy, searching for a correct window. Flying close to the brick wall, she had peeked from the side, going from one window to another. Finally, she reached the room where the missile was located. Sneakily prying on the opponent barricading the door, Yuki knew it would be an easy win.

The girl retrieved back, and stepped into the building, catching up to Sato, who was almost reaching the second floor. Still floating above the ground so her heels wouldn’t make noise, Yuki signaled him to silently follow her to the top floor. Stealthily, they climbed from floor to floor, until they eventually reached the room. Landing gracefully on her feet, Yuki stood in front of the door, she inhaled deeply, placing the glasses back on her head.

“I’ll hit the door open!” Rikido was about to throw sugar cubes into his mouth when Yuki stopped him mid-action.

“Hold on,” She smiled, stretching her hands. “Better prepare to pounce on the missile.”

Ignoring the questionable look on her partner’s face, Yuki took a step forward, placing her fingers on the door. Suddenly, the metal door began turning into ice pretty quickly, then there was a shattering noise and the door was gone. Not even a trace of it left.

The same thing happened to the barricades, taking the villain team off guard. Sato got the message, using his sugar doping quirk to leap forward to the fake bomb, creating a wind blast around himself.

“Easy victory.” Yuki exhaled, relieved and proud, a small smirk shining on her face.

“YUKI, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?” Mina screamed in her face the second she stepped into the monitor room. Only then had she noticed everyone staring at her. “HOW DID YOU DO THAT?”

“Did what?” Yuki’s eyebrows frowned in confusion, eyeing people in the room.

“HOW DID YOU BREAK THAT DOOR??? YOU TWO WERE STANDING THERE, AND THEN BOOM, THE DOOR IS GONE!!!” Tooru came up as well, screaming.

“Oh… I haven’t told you?” Yuki smiled nervously. “I have two quirks.”

“YOU WHAT?”

“So, you’re like Todoroki-kun?” Tsuyu, the frog girl, jumped closer, engaging in the conversation, paying no mind to the battle on the screen.

“Pretty much, yeah.” Yuki unconsciously locked eyes with the boy who’d been occupying her mind for a while, noticing him staring curiously as well. Unlike the girls, however, he kept his distance, soon averting his gaze. “It’s nothing too special, let’s just focus on the lesson.”

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN NOTHING SPECIAL? WHERE ELSE CAN YOU FIND TWO PEOPLE WITH TWO QUIRKS IN A ROW???” Mina kept excitedly yelling.

Somehow managing to silence the hurricane of girls’ screams, not without help from All Might, Yuki turned to face the monitor, trying to ignore further questions, until the lesson was over.

After that, everything went back to normal. Back in the classroom, people were chatting away their emotions after the battles, Ochaco and electro guy Denki had to come to the teacher’s room to get some pile of papers, and Yuki was still ignoring Mina and Tooru’s investigation, either entirely changing the subject or giving vague answers.

The time was nearing the evening. Yuki was staring out of the window, allowing hundreds of thoughts to invade her mind. She focused on the orange sky, mindlessly fiddling with her glasses. She had always needed glasses for reading. But even if she didn’t need them right now, the girl paid no mind to the somewhat blurry image of the setting sun, flying away from reality.

What Yuki didn’t realize was that she was floating above the ground. Not before she heard an annoying bark filled with venom.

“Hey, you, blue-eyes, stop that shit, it’s annoying!” Bakugo yelled, not even sparring a glance at her.

“And what is it I do that annoys you? Please, tell me, I’ll gladly do it again.” Yuki was never a “conflict” person, but something in his voice made her feel irritated. Carefully, she landed back down on the floor, glaring at the blonde guy.

“You’re looming around like a scarecrow, it pisses me off!” He hissed, gathering his belongings into his bag, and exiting the classroom without dropping another word.

‘He sure loves throwing his anger toward other people…’ She thought. However, something in his tone made her feel off. Almost as if there was something more in the way he talked.

A couple more minutes passed, and when everyone was gathered around Midoriya, who had just gotten back from the nurse's office, Yuki was looking out the window, wondering yet again. She thought of Bakugo’s yelling, her battle alongside Sato against Mineta and Momo, her quirks…

At the mere thought of her quirks, she felt a cold shiver run down her spine. She didn’t know in particular what caused it. It could be anything – her shady past she didn’t remember, her foggy future she both dreaded and anticipated, or the incident when she was still a child…

Slapping her cheeks to wave the intrusive thoughts away, she glanced back around the classroom, noticing that Todoroki was already gone. Sighing, Yuki grabbed her bag and headed home.
