Naturally the van Rossums, my dysfunctional-90's-esque-trophy-power-couple, would never be caught dead eating something as vulgar as pizza in front of each other...but what about when they're left to their own devices?

Johannes spends a fair amount of his time in his Bridgeport office, on long calls with @lesmana-enterprise-ltd trying to secure them permits to build in Willupette County, writing lengthy emails to the Calico Club telling them not to let supernatural Sims get a membership, and trying to slide into Lily Feng's DMs. Sometimes, he gets a craving for the kind of greasy goodness that the salad restaurant lower down in his building just can't provide, and so his go-to pizza joint is Pizza 83, a highbrow ristorante that serves his favourite: Anchovies, white sauce, and purple sprouting broccoli, all doused in the house's signature Truffle Oil.

Maëlle was educated in a finishing school in Tartosa like her mother and grandmother before her, but years of her father losing money on the Twinbrook Knubb circuit meant she was comparatively poor and unfashionable compared to her wealthy classmates, who never let her forget it. One of the only good memories she has of her time at the school is when her flower-arranging teacher, Mary Delarosa, noticed her crying and bought her a pizza from a local parlor. Maëlle likes simple, high-quality ingredients, and when Johannes is away on business, she'll sometimes pass the time by ringing up local Evergreen Harbor takeaways and asking if they have San Marzano tomato sauce, fiordelatte mozzarella, and a few fresh basil leaves. The answer is always the same: 'Lady, are you high?!'

But hey, he's a grown adult, and so is Daichi, and he's just doing him a favor! It was staying in Kuroo's apartment or finding a cheap hotel, and at least, after two years of rooming, and dating, in college, they know how to coexist.

Monday 15th July 1974

Dear Diary,

I’ve been home for a few days now. I haven’t had a chance to write. Things are very crazy around here.

Mother and Father failed to mention that we’d be having a house guest this summer and Sirius is NOT impressed. It’s Maëlle - the French girl that is going to be Sirius’s future wife.  Remember I met her during the Christmas holidays? She doesn’t speak a word of English and she keeps referring to me as her little brother even though I am NOT.

She is staying with us all summer to “get to know” Sirius.  

The only good thing that’s coming out of her staying with us is that Mother and Father aren’t being their usual horrible selves because they’re trying to make a good impression.  Sirius, on the other hand, doesn’t care about impressions.  He has already called her just about every insult he knows in French, and now he’s moved onto the English insults which she doesn’t understand.  She seems unphased by his insults though - she is sickeningly always following him around and chatting relentlessly in French about politics and marriage.  I feel bad for Sirius.  I have a headache and I’m not even the one she’s harrassing.

Hopefully Mother and Father see how annoying she is and make her leave.

i've been thinking about maëlle's book post again and i think the only reason madeline miller was able to get away with the pretty but no substance writing in tsoa is because it's a retelling of the iliad and everybody's read it but circe is so meandering and lacking in narrative (when there is one it relies on male characters to keep the story going) that all of those flaws immediately became apparent

Height: I'm an impressive 5′1″

Last thing searched: Translation of “véhiculer” in French. I was doing homework. It means “to convey”, btw.

Favorite musicians: Wow, so many. I listen to a lot of Francopone music, and my faves there have to be Madame Monsieur, L.E.J., Maëlle, Suzane, Chilla. The list goes on. As far as Anglophone artists/bands, I like Birdy, Billie Marten, The Naked and Famous, Rae Morris. And again, the list goes on...

If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or visit the future? I’m not sure. Can I choose neither? I think time-travel would make me even more confused that I generally am.

Do I get asks? Sometimes, mostly when I post ask games/writing prompts. I would love to get more though (don’t be shy!)

Would you rather be rich or famous? Idk. If I had to choose one, I would say rich because it would be nice to never have to worry about money again, but neither are really up my street.

Amount of sleep: That varies...so much. I try to aim for at least six, but my sleep is so bad. Waking up multiple times a night is the norm.

What I’m wearing: Right now, track suit bottoms, a slouchy t-shirt and fluffy socks. It’s a lazy day!

Dream job: IDK. Just definitely not an office job, I’m 100% not suited for that.

Dream trip: Oohh, so many places. But probably France right now. And then Peru.

If you were an animal. What would you be? Hmm. I guess I’m most like a really shy cat. But if I could aspire to be an animal, probably a bird of some kind. I think flying would be pretty cool, wouldn’t have to use my bad knees as much.

What are some of your favorite books/films/shows/games/etc.? BOOKS: Ohhh, this is such a potential rabbit hole. I read so much. My favourite genres are definitely contemporary YA, LGBTQIA+, and historical fiction. I can’t pick just a few specifics though. (Although if you want book recommendations, feel free to message me. I’ve read a lot of books) SHOWS: Erm, Brooklyn 99, Friends, Full(er) House, One Day At A Time, Miranda, Gilmore Girls, Jane the Virgin, Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother. Oh, and pretty much any wildlife/nature documentary. GAMES: Pretty much just Sims and Stardew Valley. 

Play any instruments? I used to play drums, I took harp lessons for a while. Unfortunately I can’t do that anymore though :(

Language(s): Right now, I’m fluent in English, Spanish and French. I can read and get the general gist of Portuguese and Italian. I’m learning Catalan and Arabic. I guess you could say I’m a bit of a polyglot...
