Id chapter's theme song "Beyond the Gray Sky" shreds at my heart because the instruments used you can imagine the Avengers playing the song for guda.....piano for salieri, the guitar/s for nito-alter and/or dantes, drums for kagekiyo but especially the singer herself.... i love that they chose someone whose voice clearly RESEMBLES sakamoto maaya's voice to sing the song alluding to jalter (and the avengers) being replaced by shadow servants where they are no longer there but they will still be there albeit just as shades of the Avengers.....
ive said it before but i love that its 'jalter' who sings it. because the lyrics convey love and longing clear enough for the person to hear. dantes' feelings are in those very lines of the song itself, especially in the latter half of the song where it says "I know there is no eternity" "before i lose that light, and im swallowed up by the darkness, those thoughts will never change... so take my hand and step onto the train of the future".... we already know dantes is vague at best with only guda being able to understand him... so its jalter, who is equally as guda's fate as much as monte cristo is, and is implied to have accepted and embrace love, 'sings' the song... thats the image my mind is going for.

ARKNIGHTS - PRELUDE TO DAWN: nuovo trailer dell’anime in attesa del debutto in streaming su Crunchyroll
L’asso del volley, My Hero Academia).
Come era lecito aspettarsi da un gioco con all’attivo più di 200 personaggi, anche il cast della serie si preannuncia piuttosto corposo. Di seguito vi riporto i nomi confermati fino ad oggi.
Tumblr media
Ace: Takashi Matsuyama
Wei Yenwu: Kouichi Yamadera
Medic: Momo Asakura
Guard: Chiaki Kobayashi
Doctor: Yuki Kaida
Franka: Ai Kakuma
Dobermann: Atsumi Tanezaki
Nearl: Ayane Sakura
Amiya: Tomoyo Kurosawa
Tumblr media
Texas: Azusa Tadokoro
Hoshiguma: Kiyono Yasuno
Exusiai: Manaka Iwami
Meteorite: Risa Taneda
Ch'en: Shizuka Ishigami
Kal'tsit: Yoko Hikasa
Liskarm: Yui Ishikawa
Tumblr media
Crownslayer: Sayaka Sembongi
Mephisto: Kohei Amasaki
Faust: Shun Horie
Talulah: Maaya Sakamoto
W: Ayana Taketatsu
Misha: Satsumi Matsuda
Skullshatterer: Risae Matsuda

Thoughts on this episode? I was honestly pretty stunned in the first half because i thought it was the most visually interesting and dynamic and detailed aside from a few blips and blops here and there (unspecific yuki face structures) but i was kinda disappointed with the actual akita yuki glass hit moment. IDK the music to me was too much "THIS IS A DRAMATIC MOMENT" like I think it took away from what Yuki was saying and I think it would've been better if they let it simply be so so so silent
and ONLY have Yuki's voice (because goddamn it's an IMPORTANT speech). I think my favourite aprt about the moment was Yuki saying "sorry" geh :// and maybe it's cause i read the manga but the moment Ayame picks up Yuki and talks about their not-promise and sunset was a lot funnier with reading. Anyway, those are my little nitpicks but I would love to know your thoughts on it as well!!!!!
OMG also. They didn't do it this episode (yes.. yes they didn't!) but I love the little ending piano rendition of the Eden ED motif that they sometimes include to transition into the actual ED (they used in it the last episode and have been doing it sometimes and they first time they did it, as a musician I was like oh HECK yes)
i wanted to wait until i notated the ep before i answered this and im laughing because i wrote the EXACT same thing about the music in the akito/yuki carafe thing. there’s just no need for such intense emotional prompting, the audience isn’t stupid and we can figure out how we’re supposed to feel about this convo, plus the music starts as akito begins speaking so ibata doesn’t even give us a chance to figure out how we’re supposed to feel before we’re informed of the TENSE AND DRAMATIC convo about to happen. i have issues with a lot of the music placement in this show (and the levels? could be a covid thing though, idk if they were working in the studio or not when the season was in production. i know a lot of anime teams started wfh) and this was a prime example of the issues i have with it. another one is the sad piano music underneath ayame’s dramatic ass monologue about sunsets and shit....i think silence can be sooooo effective but ibata does not agree :/ i also didn’t like how much motion was in the shot. overall i wish it had been simpler, sometimes it feels like the anime is trying too hard to shove in your face how dramatic and serious everything is where it should be understated because fb is a very human story that is very grounded in reality, and the melodrama of the directing takes away from that imo
and agree, i think the first half of the ep was really, REALLY good for the exact reasons i didn’t like the carafe thing. im glad they went with a lot of silence and just dialogue for machi, it works really well, especially for her. also i loved her va, i thought she killed her monologues and i’m very excited to hear more from her! machi is an interesting character and im excited to see more of her next season.
another highlight of this ep for me was the yuki/hatori scene, i think it rly shows how much yuki has grown as a person that he’s able to recognize that he was unfairly blaming hatori for what happened and was able to reconcile that and forgive him. i think the anime team did a really good job showing how healing it was for hatori as well, the match-cut shot to hatori’s face after yuki’s done speaking was really well done, his face said a lot.
other itty bitty highlights: maaya sakamoto’s “APOLOGIZE! APOLOGIZE!” talk about chills, yuki laughing, the scarf moment, tohru smacking her face into the window! also i didnt notice that they use eden as a motif i’ll have to keep an ear out for it!!

Top Successful Seiyuu in 2019!
Below, I’ll do a quick sum up of why I think these seiyuu are climbing the ranks! Keep in mind, I don’t listen to a ton of their music. I’m just surmising based on seasonal anime and other contributing factors (not all of them happened in 2019). Seriously, this is from the top of my head. I only searched up the spellings.
Top 20 Female Seiyuu
Miyu Tomita’s role as Rizu Ogata in Bokuben really put her on the map for me, and the same goes for Miku Itou’s role as Miku in Gotoubun!
Mikako Komatsu placed high for this and the Newtype anime awards! Her career has remained consistent, and her music performances are strong!
Ai Fairouz just debuted this year with her role Dumbbell nan Kilo Motteru?
Reina Ueda voiced Kanao in Demon Slayer and had major roles in SSSS.Gridman, Wataten, and other various anime!
Sumire Morohoshi took the lead role as Emma in Yakusoku no Neverland, reprised her role as Kyouka in Bungou Stray Dogs, and debuted as a solo artist singing an anime opening for Honzuki no Gekokujou
Konomi Kohara cemented herself as a seiyuu with her leading roles in Tsuki ga Kirei, Asobi Asobase, and Kaguya-sama, made everyone laugh with the Kaguya radio show, and premiered her own radio show!
Maaya Sakamoto’s music career is forever strong. Her seiyuu career is forever strong. She’s still taking supporting roles. She’s amazing. Nothing needs to be said.
Sora Amamiya’s various roles in anime like Konosuba, Seven Deadly Sins, Dumbbell nan Kilo, and so many other things along with her blossoming music career both solo and with Trysail have boosted her even further!
Rie Takahashi’s roles in Konosuba, Takagi-san, and Fate: Grand Order along with her debut in Earphone have secured her a spot! I feel like it was just yesterday that she was in an anime about becoming a seiyuu.
Ayachi was in Gotoubun, continued her work in music, and got married to Kaji!
Ai Kayano has gotten various roles throughout the year including Gakkou no Juliet, Konosuba, and most importantly SAO! Oh yeah, and that isekai about being a reincarnated mom.
Nana Mizuki’s music career is going strong. She might be almost 40 but she’s still kicking harder than most of the 20-year-olds I know.
Saori Hayami is coming back for another season of Oregairu, plays Shinobu in Kimetsu no Yaiba, had a recurring role in Danmachi, and kept her roles consistent. Her music career has taken off even more!
Ayaneru has been getting a ton of roles while maintaining her old ones! Yotsuba in Gotoubun, Ochako in Hero Aca, and Iroha in Oregairu, and her radio shows have been successful too! According to people in the seiyuu fandom and her fellow seiyuu, she has good legs and assets. Their words not mine.
Aoi Yuuki’s role in dubbing the Spiderverse movie as Gwen as well as reprising many of her roles and getting new ones in various seasonal anime like Fire Force and Asobi Asobase.
Inori Minase has recurring roles in Danmachi and Seishun Buta Yarou have really boosted her popularity!
Miyuki Sawashiro hasn’t even been in many seasonal anime recently. People just recognize her excellence and give her one of the top spots anyway.
Kana Hanazawa hasn’t been landing as many roles as usual, but she has gotten roles in Kimetsu no Yaiba and Gotoubun!
Maaya Uchida has been boosting her music career and has a main character role in Yakusoku no Neverland!
Akari Kitou has had main roles in Kimetsu no Yaiba (which has boosted her career a lot), Wataten, and other popular anime
Top 20 Male Seiyuu
Sakurai takes so many roles every season. He’s usually in 2-3 anime in supporting roles. Mob Psycho 100 really solidified everything though. His performance as Reigen was undeniable. Furuba, Bungou, and Kimetsu no Yaiba also gave him major strong roles even if they were main character roles!
Tsuda has been in an unusual amount of anime. Way of the Househusband (even just the CVs alone), Hero Aca, Fire Force, Africa no Salaryman, Nakanohito Genome, have all given Tsuda important roles. It’s never been a better time to be an anime villain!
Shugo Nakamura just debuted as a solo artist. I honestly don’t know him. I think he was on SideM for Idolmaster.
Sugita got new supporting roles here and there. He’s popular in general. Gintama ending probably helps too. He was in Robihachi and some mobile game adaptation this year.
Ayumu Murase has Devilman: Crybaby, Haikyuu, and most recently, Sarazanmai (and to a lesser extent Dr. Stone).
Saitou recently had the second season of Piano no Mori... yeah, maybe his support for past anime like Haikyuu helped? I don’t know. Good for him though.
Nobuhiko recently had his own Accelerator Railgun anime where he went absolutely ham, Hero Aca is popular, and Meiji Tokyo Renka also got an adaptation. He has a future strong role in Kimetsu no Yaiba too!
Kaito Ishikawa has been trying so hard to be in everything. Seishun Buta Yarou, Hero Aca, Dumbbell nan Kilo, Tate no Yuusha, and One Punch Man just to add main roles.
Jun Fukuyama had the revival of Code Geass along with some supporting roles here and there like in Kimetsu no Yaiba. Persona 5 and Mayonaka no Occult gave him main character roles too.
I have no idea what happened to no. 11
Nakamura is in everything. He sticks himself in everything whether you like it or not. Dr. Stone, Hero Aca (future role as Hawks), Furuba, Babylon, just to name a few.
Daiki Yamashita plays Deku which will always secure him a spot, and his role in Oresuki was so well-done.
Kento Itou was in Wotakoi and was a part of Hypmic! I don’t know why else he’s here.
Makoto Furukawa had Kaguya-sama, One Punch Man, Dr. Stone, Furuba, and Kono Oto Tomare.
Yuuma Uchida has his older sister, his main roles in Banana Fish, Kono Oto Tomare, and Furuba! His music career has also been taking off. He recently got a seiyuu award too! gotta make his onee-chan proud!
Kamiya maintains his popularity through his DGS radio and anime like Saiki (which just ended), Attack on Titan (which is just about to end), and I’m not sure how it’s going right now but probably One Piece too.
Matsuoka is in a lot of things. He’s trying his best to get roles, not get a massive social anxiety attack, and not to rely on Nobunaga. He’s got SAO, Danmachi, Gotoubun, and Kimetsu no Yaiba just to name main roles.
Mamo has been everywhere. Fire Force, Sarazanmai, and more importantly Bungou Stray Dogs. BSD is quite popular.
Shimono has Kimetsu no Yaiba! Trust me, his commitment to that series is commendable
Natsuki Hanae has his gaming channel, Kimetsu no Yaiba, Tokyo Ghoul, and other stuff!
Kaji married Ayachi

Favorite music: Florence and the Machine, Mark Knopfler, Leonard Cohen, Loreena McKennitt, Taylor Swift, Maaya Sakamoto, 30s/40s popular songs, Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Vera Lynn, jazz piano (Bud Powell; Bill Evans), Italian opera, some English opera, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Dmitri Shostakovich, Erik Satie
Last film I watched: I haven’t watched a ton of movies lately! I dimly remember seeing Aozora Musume (1957) and C’eravamo tanto amati (1974) a few weeks back.
Last TV series I watched: Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.
Favorite original character: Stock characters in my original fiction include Sadgirl Who’s Committed War Crimes, Flinty Working Mother, Househusband With A Dark Past, Well-Meaning But Ineffectual Clergyman, Cool Old Lady, Materialistic Careerist Battling Mental Illness, and Foul-Mouthed Fashionista Who’s Secretly A Megabrained Intellectual. The religious beliefs and sexual orientation of any of these characters are up for grabs but all of them are likelier than not to be either Catholic or Jewish and likelier than not to be LGBT.
Sweet, spicy, or savory: Spicy>savory>sweet, but I’m certainly not going to say no to ice cream or dark chocolate.
