Absolutely unhinged meta headcanon:
Stex is an endless cycle of reincarnation, where the characters are trapped by their ignorance. Rusty’s concept has always required outright denial of nearly all material realities of steam engines. Learning the truth would shatter the foundation of many other characters’ existence because canon’s social metaphors are so backwards vs even basic train facts. The rewrites tend to become even more “dumbed down” with time to further prevent them from discovering even basic realities of trains, and escaping the cycle. See: Bobo being removed from the Rap by making the most rational point there (and being the actual fastest train at the time but relegated to ensemble). Greaseball is a rare exception (he’s VERY true to life and knowledge changes nothing), he enjoys his status too much to want to leave. He just wants to torment and get off scott-free forever.
OLC “trucker” Caboose is another rare enlightened train due to his radio connection, and the obscure fact that cabooses holding radio control equipment capable of applying brakes have really existed. He listens and talks to “them all” and has by far the most outside train knowledge early on. He caused the opening night “interrupting BBC van incident” and generally tries to sabotage canon through audio interference because he likes tormenting them all with the madness of train reality. He also knows that train ignorance is depriving him of Swole Electra (which he wants for purely selfish reasons). By enlightening Electra about the reality of rail in the world beyond (and his own anachronistic internet powers), Electra begins to physically reincarnate in shorter thicker forms closer to reality (electric engines are relatively small and stupid powerful for their size they would not be “tall ans thin”). For disturbing the peace, Caboose is doomed to utter irrationality, increasing obscurity, and even full deletion to perpetuate the cycle of ignorance. He doesn’t even get to exist to meet Swole Electra before losing his lucidity. Womp womp.
Toothpaste Electra goes through decades of increased knowledge and frustration at how they’re the one who’s been wronged by canon and the media in general this whole time. It’s a decades-long issue that electric trains are treated as soulless boxes vs other trains in Anglophone media and their history and issues barely discussed vs steam, diesel, and questionable “bionic duckweed” tech. At some point they learn too much by the power of Wikipedia, realize the whole show is made of lies and fools, and ascend to minor godhood to be replaced by the monochrome version (now with more writing obstacles to becoming true to life to prevent escape).
Yes I’ll think of some unhinged lore for other characters being written out or dumbed down. This alternate storyline is way too amusing for me and explains so much.

Tom and Robotic Mouse | @futuretiative
Tom's job security takes a hit with the arrival of a new, robotic mouse catcher.
TomAndJerry #AIJobLoss #CartoonHumor #ClassicAnimation #RobotMouse #ArtificialIntelligence #CatAndMouse #TechTakesOver #FunnyCartoons #TomTheCat
Keywords: Tom and Jerry, cartoon, animation, cat, mouse, robot, artificial intelligence, job loss, humor, classic, Machine Learning Deep Learning Natural Language Processing (NLP) Generative AI AI Chatbots AI Ethics Computer Vision Robotics AI Applications Neural Networks
Tom was the first guy who lost his job because of AI
(and what you can do instead)
"AI took my job" isn't a story anymore.
It's reality.
But here's the plot twist:
While Tom was complaining,
others were adapting.
The math is simple:
➝ AI isn't slowing down
➝ Skills gap is widening
➝ Opportunities are multiplying
Here's the truth:
The future doesn't care about your comfort zone.
It rewards those who embrace change and innovate.
Stop viewing AI as your replacement.
Start seeing it as your rocket fuel.
Because in 2025:
➝ Learners will lead
➝ Adapters will advance
➝ Complainers will vanish
The choice?
It's always been yours.
It goes even further - now AI has been trained to create consistent.

i really don’t love takes that are like “how can you be anti copyright but also against ai” because it’s like. well first of all i don’t think ai itself, or specifically generative ai (because “ai” alone is imo a pretty meaningless term that refers to so many things at this point), is like. inherently evil. it’s a tool and in fact it is a tool that you can do some pretty cool or even useful things with! and like my issue honestly is not even really with people using ai to generate art, but rather with the gen ai software itself because that’s the actual product.
i often think of a post i saw comparing generative ai that pulls from various artists to like. heavily referencing or emulating specific artists in art. and i don’t think that’s necessarily a bad comparison when it comes to the people entering the prompts and generating the images. HOWEVER i just feel like. if someone downloaded a bunch of pictures from the internet and compiled them into a book or a document and then SOLD it as a book of art references without any credit much less compensation to the artists behind those pictures, whether you consider that theft or not i think it definitely constitutes a Dick Move.
there was another post that was like “oh everyone made fun of nft bros about right clicking their bored ape pics but those same people see it as theft when those images on the internet that anyone can see are used for generative ai” or whatever and it’s like. idk, for ME my line is that when SOMEONE is making money (in this case tech ceos) off of a piece of art, but not the person who made it, that is a problem. and maybe this is just a Strong Autism Conviction thing for me bc i’ve felt this way for a long time but like downloading something for free is one thing but downloading something for free AND THEN SELLING it is another. in my opinion
BUT ALSO there is a difference between what i personally think is right/wrong and what i think should be the law. and personally i think that any legislation about ai meant to target stuff like this is almost certain to do a lot more harm than good. like we don’t need copyright laws getting any stronger 😐
