sometimes you gotta embrace self-indulgence and that involves certain folks having a mechanic 'friend' (because I dunno how well animatronic healthcare works in the Sleuth Jesters-verse but that's not gonna stop me)

@naffeclipse's AUs are very fun to mix around too so we have bh!Eclipse getting a well-meaning talk despite both folks present knowing full well he's perfectly capable of self-maintenance - whereas mb!Sun and Moon are being hellions and getting warned that their mechanic has the police chief's phone number on their rolodex

Random question(s) from a thought. I know HCFIQ Eclipse can drive and Heavenly can’t, but can the Celestial twins drive? And if so, do either of them like driving? What roads would they like to drive on (curvy, straight, uphill, downhill, lots of turns, no turns, etc. etc.)? Do they get motion sickness (yes I know they’re robots but still)? Do they like to listen to music while riding/driving?

How do they handle someone else driving? Do they prefer a safer driver or one who takes a bit of risk? How safe do they like to drive? Do they race down the streets if possible without being caught or drive casually? Do they prefer riding up front or in the back? Limousine-like car or personal vehicle for just the two of them plus some weapons? How much trust do they place in another driver?

Same for Eclipse?

Anyways just some thoughts.

(Sorry for throwing a load of questions at you all at once, but driving is something that a lot of people feel differently about. How one approaches driving can speak volumes just as much as how one dresses and how one talks.)

Alright, I dedicated THOUGHT to this one. Including some lore that isn't shown in the fic, but I have notes about for some reason ^^; (i went digging y'all)

This is a whole schpeal;

Alright, obviously in the TFP AU, they obviously can't drive. But, in the original, as mentioned, Eclipse had gotten his custom car around the time he became chief, as a gift. Around this time, Sun and Moon are freshly recovering from the burning of the Daycare. Looking for Eclipse, wondering where he disappeared off to, and like...it took them a week or so since they weren't familiar with the layout of the city and were very paranoid, but it was the day he received his car. Can you imagine that? Seeing your older brother who abandoned you, finely dressed, in a position of power, not a scratch on him, and the mayor heartily gifting him the keys to a fashionable car? Just ignore the fact that his rays are shrunken in, fear and haunt shadowing his exhausted posture, the man is living fat while you're shivering homeless and near decommissioned where you stood.

So, naturally, Sun and Moon, when they're at their positions of powers, in their flashy clothes and riches, they, of course, splurged on vehicles. They have more than one, actually they have five. Each brother has one flashy fancy car and a more discrete car. Then the fifth one is a limousine that both of them can use. They're all animatronic grade cars, so if they (begrudgingly) have a human associate in one of their vehicles, they're guaranteed to make fun of them for not fitting properly.

They're an animatronic only syndicate. The brothers have a very clear vision for what they want to stand for in this mafia, of which then they have very heavy biases for animatronics. Protocol Free animatronics come from hard lives, as the Celestial brothers have, and they have banded together on that fact alone. Yes, they trust them to drive them places. They also have learned how to drive, purely to spite Eclipse.

I wouldn't call it motion sickness, but when they first started out, they were very scared. This is around their ascension, so they couldn't really show it, but the twins were shook. Now, they sometimes flaunt their wealth and power with their cars if they're moving downtown to wherever, if it's not important. If it is, they'll use the discrete vehicles, but the interiors are very lavish. They take their time driving, never in a hurry, both with tastes of music playing on the radio. If they're late to a meeting with outside associates (who are usually human), they'll taunt them about what they'd do about it. The cars, aside from animatronic treats and drinks, are of course, stashed with weapons.

Eclipse is a different story. He owns one car and does his best to preserve the mint condition, since it is a gift from a kind friend who wishes well for him. He was a nervous wreck learning how to drive, almost refusing help before, but later had asked helped from said friend, and learned a lot more efficiently. He didn't really get to properly enjoy driving it, really using it to get from his old apartment to work. That was, until he started taking you to missions and meetings, because he'd take scenic routes just to explain things and watch your eyes light up and ask your small questions.

I finally made semi-fledged character designs for the main peeps of 'The Heavenly Body' Case File in Question! It's the finished version of the doodle and aaaa

I also wanna talk a bit about the characters and stuff before I finish up Chapter 4 of this fanfic, since it's coming to a close. Aaaaaand to perhaps drop some hints about what could possibly come, for those of y'all wanting to guess how this goes down.

Word vomit, so aaaaa, under the cut-

[Eclipse, the Honored Police Chief] The evidently socially awkward prototype animatronic who towers around 9'5" tall, struggles to get through some doorways and some conversations, specifically from a detective that he accidentally managed to befriend three years ago. He's an auto-repurposed celestial animatronic that earned a spot in the police force when he was paving a new way of life for himself and his family. While some things didn't happen the way he wanted it to, he intends to spend the rest of his life atoning for all the poor decisions he's made.

[Sun, the Sadistic Mafia Boss] The flamboyant and childish-facading celestial animatronic, standing about 8~ foot tall, loves teasing and talking down condescendingly about people. Was a former childcare animatronic, along with his family, until an incident happened where his family had to survive on the streets. One day, it was just him and his younger brother and he now bears a seething hatred for the naturally exalted humans who once called his kind a sort of slave. He plans to take over the city that forsaken them, not letting anything, human or animatronic, stop him.

[Moon, the Sinister Mafia Boss] The more level-headed, but torture-happy celestial animatronic, around the same height as his second brother. Is the youngest of his family, however, bears the aura of someone with high authority. Swore to protect his remaining brother with his life, while also keeping him in check. Though, he also needs to let his tendencies out every now and then, letting them loose on those who have wronged them. Is convinced that what they're doing is correct.

[Y/N, the Mysterious Rookie Detective] A detective who magically appeared in the force one day and was hired due to the incompetence of the other officers. Was a diligent worker who got things done on time, so they were favored to stay. Doesn't speak much, and if they do, they're short, clipped sentences with a blank face and vague gestures. Humans and animatronics alike cannot detect them approaching for some reason, and their isolated self allows plenty of rumors to swirl about them. They bear two guns that they never seem to remove. Gained an odd friendship with their police chief and the attention of two unruly celestial animatronics.

Eclipse's Thoughts on the Others Sun; What he thinks of me is my own fault. I miss him. Moon; The hope I have with him shouldn't be fed. I miss him. Y/N; I should only look at them as a friend or a close confidant.

Sun's Thoughts on the Others Eclipse; Betrayal. How dare he. You don't deserve to live. Moon; The only one I have left. Please don't leave me. Y/N; You're just like me, I know it. Stay away from him.

Moon's Thoughts on the Others Eclipse; Why? I know you'll never answer, but it plagues my mind. Sun; I'm watching my brother fall apart before my very eyes. Y/N; How can I not sense you? Where's the light in your eyes?

Y/N's Thoughts on the Others Eclipse; He's changing. My body reacts to him. I've yet to know why. Sun; Annoying. Dances around the subject too much. Moon; Annoying. Underestimates not even in a smart way.

Other notable characters; Mayor Freddy Fazbear; The city mayor, kind and loving, advocator of the union of animatronics and humans. Foxy; An old friend of Freddy and a good acquaintance of yours. Gregory Fazbear; The adopted son of the mayor with a dire secret. Knows answers that you will need that you may never think to look. Michael Afton; The Afton mafia boss, trying to solve a mystery and assert his dominance where he doesn't need. Music Man; Eyes and ears of the city that only helps those who've intrigued him. Never sticks to one side.

Fandom: Marvel - Moon Knight (Mafia AU)

Pairing: Marc Spector x F!Reader, Steven Grant x F!Reader, Jake Lockley x F!Reader

Summary: To ensure you’re always safe even after his passing, your father, a mob boss, makes you marry his right hand, Marc Spector. You don’t necessarily hate Marc, but you don’t get along either. Therefore, this marriage of convenience may be a bit difficult for you.

The past week and a half was a blur to you. Your father sacrificed himself to make sure Harrow couldn't touch you or his empire again. Marc was with you every single day since the death of your father. He tried helping you as much as he could, being there for you, holding you when you cried. Still, he felt absolutely helpless.

The funeral was hard. All of your father's allies came to pay their respects as he was laid to rest. At the estate, Yelena was quick to hand you a drink.

"The family heads are waiting for you in your father's office," she said as she took a sip from her own drink.

You pinch the bridge of your nose, "They can't at least give me a day of rest?" Yelena shrugs as she pats your shoulder, "Good luck. Both of you," she nods to Marc and you.

Marc's arm wraps around you and rest on your hip, "We can do this." He kisses your temple and guides you to your father's office.

When you walk in, the low chatter that was going on immediately stops. All eyes are on you. You stare at your father's empty chair and feel like you're doing something wrong, being there without him.

You clear your throat and look around you. You clasp your hands in front of you to prevent fidgeting, "First off, thank you all for being here. I'm," you pause as your words get stuck in your throat, "I'm sure my dad really appreciates it." You run your hands down your black dress, "Um, so I'm assuming this meeting is to discuss the new head of the L/N Family?"

Alexei speaks up, "We're all aware that your father planned to have Spector take over and we all know about your arrangement. However, as respect for you, we just want to make sure this is still what you want."

You haven't thought much about your arrangement with Marc since your father's death. You've been too busy mourning as well as making funeral arrangements to really think about your engagement at all. However, throughout this time, you felt more at peace when he was around. He held you as you cried yourself to sleep. Even when you lashed out at him at the beginning because he didn't talk your father out of his sacrifice, he continued to be there for you. Things drastically changed and now...well, now you can't imagine Marc not being there with you in the future.

You turn to Marc, stepping out of his hold and slipping your hand into his, "Yes," then then turn to the family heads, "I do still intend on marrying Marc and having him take my father's place."

Marc squeezes your hand, "You sure?"

You nod, "I'm sure. There's no one else I trust with my father's organization."

Bucky, from the Barnes Family, speaks up, "I suggest you lovebirds get married soon. Harrow might not have been the only one ballsy enough to pull this shit. The sooner you're married the more serious people will take Spector as the head."

Your shoulder slump. Whether you were marrying Marc or not, you always saw yourself being walked down the aisle with your dad. But he's not here anymore.

Your wedding is straying further and further away than what you dreamt of.

Marc nods at Bucky, "We'll handle it," he glances at you and then back at the group before him, "Well, I think anything else that needs to be discussed can wait until tomorrow. Please enjoy the refreshments and thank you again for coming."

You and he step to the side as the family heads files out of the room. The last to leave was Alexei. He wraps his arms around you and hugs you tight. You let out a little sob and he soothes you.

"There, there, my little sunshine. You'll be okay. You're strong, yes?"

You pull away, wiping the stray tears from your cheeks, "I have to ask you something?"

"Anything."

"Will you walk me down the aisle of my wedding?"

Alexei looks at you in surprise, "Me?"

"You're like a second father to me, Lexei. Since my father is no longer here-"

"Of course, I'll do it. It would be an honor." He kisses your forehead and a soft smile.

He then turns to Marc and gives him a stern look, "If I hear a word about you mistreating her-"

"You don't have to worry about that, Alexei."

Alexei nods, "Good." Satisfied, he leave the room and you let out a deep breath.

You face Marc and immediately rest your head against him, "There's so much that needs to be done. How far up should be move the wedding? Did we pick a venue? I can't remember. Then we need to pick catering-"

"Hey, hey. No," Marc steps back, holding your by the shoulders, "Don't worry about that right now," he moves his hands to cup your face, "Go up to your room and rest."

"All I've been doing lately has been resting while you handle everything."

He shrugs, "Isn't this what I signed up for?" You open your mouth to object but he shakes his head, "Don't. Your father made sure I was well prepared for anything and everything that may come up being in this position. I'll handle it all. I just-" he pauses to let out a deep breath, "I just want to make sure you're okay."

You give him a soft smile, "Thank you. I-I know I've been so hot and cold with you since this whole arrangement began but...I really can't see anyone else in this position, at my side, than you."

"That's good to know," he murmurs and he kisses your forehead and then rests his against yours, "Go upstairs and rest," he whispers before pulling away and leaving you in your father's office.

Maybe you should just tell everyone to leave? Steven suggests in Marc's head.

"I can't. I need to show face, mingle with the families and friends."

Y/N needs us, though.

"I just want to give her some space, Steven. Let her have some time alone. She hasn't had much of that lately."

If you're sure.

"I am."

When you woke up, it was dark out. You check the time on your phone it reads that it's past midnight. Do you have several notifications and unread messages from people? Yes, but right now you just want to see where Marc is.

You roll out of bed and pull on one of your old hoodies. You call out for Marc in case he might be near by. You were greeted with silence.

You descend the stairs seeing the kitchen light on. It's too late for your family's personal chef to be here so you're sure it's Marc.

When you enter the kitchen, you see Marc. He's sitting at the counter munching on a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a mug of hot tea beside him.

"Marc?"

He looks up, eyes wide as if he'd been caught in a crime. He quickly swallows his food and sets the sandwich onto his plate, "Oh, um, hello," you hear the British accent and immediately know it's Steven.

"Oh. Hi, Steven."

"You alright?" he looks at you with concern.

You sigh, "I will be. I just need time."

He nods in understanding and gestures to the sandwich, "You want one? Or there's leftovers from the caterers. Marc snagged a little bit of everything since he wasn't sure what you'd want to eat later."

"That's thoughtful of him," you say, going to the fridge and seeing several tupperwares packed with food. You pull each one out, setting them on the island counter, "You want me to heat you up some?"

"Oh no, I'm fine with my sandwich. I'm vegan so I couldn't eat a lot of that stuff."

"Ah. Marc never told me that. I'll make sure to get you vegan options. Do you have any preferences of brands or milk alternatives?"

"You don't need to-"

"I want to, Steven. We'll technically be living together too. I want to make sure you have everything you need."

He softly smiles at you, "You're-That's really sweet of you, love."

You nod, also giving him a soft smile, "Of course." You continue to pile a bit of everything onto your plate and heating it up in the microwave.

You two eat in silence, but it wasn't awkward. You're scrolling through your phone while Steven reads a book on Egyptology. You figure that this would be a good time for you to get to know him more.

"Do you enjoy Egyptology?" you ask him. He looks up and you point to his book.

He breaks out into a smile, "I absolutely love it. The history, the literature, the religion. It's all so fascinating. The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid. It weighs just as much as 16 Empire State buildings!" He says the fact with excitement and you break out into a grin. His excitement is contagious.

"Tell me more."

Steven snorts, "Oh no. If you do, I'll never shut up."

"I don't want you to shut up, Steven." You bring yourself closer to him and Steven's a little taken back by your actions.

"Oh, um, are you sure?" You can tell Steven's hesitant by the way he starts fidgeting with the thermal shirt he's wearing. The sleeves pulled all the way down to cover a majority of his hands.

"I mean, if you want to. I don't want to force you-"

"No, no, no! That's not it. It's just...I tend to ramble on too much and people get annoyed of me."

You place a reassuring hand on Steven's, "I promise that won't happen. Besides, I think it'd be good we get to know each other, right? Since, you know, I'm marrying Marc and you're a part of him."

"But it's late. You're not tired?"

You snort, "I slept for hours, Steven. I think I'll be fine. You?"

"Same."

"Then that settles it," you stand, "We can head to the library. There's a fireplace there and it's very cozy."

"Lead the way, love," Steven says with a big grin and follows you, exuding excitement.

CUT TO RAMBLINGS

It started with me thinking and wondering about a specific fic that is unrelated to this post, frankly different fandom, and I was wondering how it would play out in a movie format, but seeing as the fic in question currently is unfinished and won't be for a while I decided to direct my attention to other fandoms, got to DCA fandom, came up with a few cute ideas i didn't write down for unfinished fics, for the record I do think it would be interesting if Solar Lunacy was a musical just saying, and then I started to think about ok what fics ARE fini-

SLEUTH JESTERS HECK YEAH

Unfortunately at the moment I don't have any digital sketches to share for some of these points and the sketches I do have are pretty messy SO I'LL JUST RAMBLE cause I already wrote down a lot of these separately

Firstly, I imagine this kind of musical being in universe kind of au. Possibly an extension of the Actor AU where the original media (tv show? movie?) got so popular it got a musical adaptation

I imagine the actual music, whether the songs or just sound track, would be heavily inspired by Jazz or smthn. Like, the genre of music most popular during the time period Sleuth Jesters is in ish. It would still be musical-like but you can tell the genre they are going for

And before continuing, to get around not actually saying "y/n" on stage cause that might be a little awkward MAYBE there could be some kind of special sound affect for the actors mics that the audience knows is y/n's name?? Half baked tho

COSTUMES

Sun, Moon and Eclipse (at least) would have highly decorated masks to match the original just added onto because they are on stage. Masks, so that there are more options for who to cast. To make up for this, the actors have to make it clear in their body language to make up for lack of expression

in productions with higher budget mayhaps one function could be the eyes have options for what emotion they could express

In most productions there will be sound effects in the background that mimic the noise that Sun Moon and Eclipse make as they move. Or at least be incorporated into the sound track ooooo

Y/n's clothes would have an easy to notice difference in quality compared to the DCAs, which makes the bell and ribbons much more noticeable on stage

Smaller note but I think y/n's make up could be kind of fun with how they show the y and n on their face

Would probably have a wig colored various shades of silver but not required

FIRST SONG FIRST SONG FIRST SONG

Would be the introduction (of course) and depict the first chapter and likely have something to do with "Until Next Time". I think possibly it would have little breaks in the song to fit in the dialogue

Honestly, in an adaptation there might just be more scenes added between the earlier chapters to fill in points in time or smthn

OR (the answer I like better) The first act uses time between chapters to fill in reader watcher on backstories or past's of characters

Actually yeah little hints would be packed in the first half

Any other songs could be filled in for the boys or y/n that could have the potential to return as a Reprise

Now listen Mandatory Eclipse Villain song(s)

this is not optional

Duets Duets DUETS

One duet could be between characters that are foils or mirror each other but it's one of those duets that have different lyrics that still match up musically

Particularly I think the latter could be used for Sun and Moon's complicated relationship with Eclipse but not completely sure where that would be, probably second half, speaking of which...

ACT ONE ends in the chapter that Y/N has to return the favor to Eclipse, where he crashes the party and they go with him, reassuring Sun and Moon that they allways can wiggle out of situations

REPRISE OF THE FIRST SONGGGGGG

Until Next Time Reprise

Which will have a moment of silence after, showing their mutual understanding yet make it perfectly clear sun and moon don't want to do resort to this

Doesn't last to long as it proceeds with the sound track DROPPING in tone as Eclipse stuffs y/n into the car, that is actually just a prop that leads to the back stage

FADE TO BLACK INTERMISSION

ACT TWO (any major costume changes or forever hold your piece) I think would start off with Sun and Moon's dilemmas first before getting back to y/n

WHICH would likely cut to y/n maybe already in the burgundy shirt but meh that's not solid

I think the way Eclipse gives them the burgundy ribbon and bell could be changed in an adaptation of the story since it would be easier I imagine to show it later than in a car set piece

(Admittedly I have to reread these specific chapters to know specifically the order) But when Eclipse drops the bombshell he knows their past, and I think he leaves them alone for a bit after that, SONG TIME (though song could still happen with him there honestly)

Something similar to the theme "I thought I burned everything" and would just

And after that likely more backstory could be cut to depending on what it is and how relevant it is at that point. WOuld be much grimmer in tone but hey it's the second act.

Though if this opportunity is taken, this could be reprised later when Y/N proposes to the boys, with the necklaces to show being more comfortable with their past

More song opportunities with Y/N's trust issues, Sun and Moon's brother issues, etc

Final act-ish, where y/n first runs away after Sun and Moon "find out" and from there would have more focus on the score than any songs that could be fit into that small frame.

My thoughts went kind of to Heather's Dead Girl Walking Reprise and then Veronica and JD's tussle toward the end if songs got implemented there

AND OF COURSE The moment of Eclipse's death is really what makes me think this would be adapted into a musical in universe

Because it does kind of fit the bill for being tragic

You feel bad enough for what could have been

But also remember "Nah that bitch deserves it"

But also.. it's sad

PERFECT FOR MUSICAL ENDING

After proposal, there is possibility to do a QUICK little glance into the future at the end, not unlike Dear Evan Hansen's ending, but maybe not

I forgot to mention earlier, but the character that is revealed to be a spy for Eclipse at the police station I'd imagine would have hints on their clothing (like burgundy) that would foreshadow their side

Who would get to bow on their own, then with Sun and Moon

Then the rest of the cast is welcomed

How the arrangement would go from left to right I was thinking
