Arthur is King and Merlin is his trusty right-hand magical advisor who still refuses to be Court Sorcerer but what everyone wants to know is if they'll finally admit they're in love and marry:

Did you see the King carrying his lover Magical Advisor bridal-style to his chambers? That's normal, either Merlin was exhausted from taking care of a magical threat or he randomly fell asleep somewhere.

Did you hear about that noble who tried to blackmail Merlin into sleeping with him? Yeah, one of the kitchen maids, Sarah, overheard and immediately ran to the councils room telling the King who left quickly (with his personal guards following) and found the noble leaning over an uninterested Merlin. After that everything was a blur, all we know is that wanker was punished and banished from the Kingdom. Rightly so if you ask me.

Hey, did you see Merlin? He's looking quite gloomy today, do you know why that would be? Oh? The King and his knights are on a diplomatic visit and he left Merlin in charge? Oh wow. No wonder why Merlin is in a mood...I bet you 20 gold coins the King and his knights run into trouble that only Merlin can get them out of.

Anna! Look! King Arthur is glaring at Sir Powell flirting with Merlin...Oh. OH! Did you see that!? Merlin is eyeing Lady Surrey with a suspicious look! I don't know if he's jealous that the Lady is trying to attract the King's attention or that there's something really sus about the noblewoman. Honestly, it could be both.

Laios & Marcille relapse AU!

My grab at baking dogboy Laios into an AU and yay laicion to top it off! Yaad is having a stroke! ^^

Soooo they had to hire a wolf beastman coach for the king's new behavioral impulses. It's a criminal yes but a PARDONED criminal after the last dungeon war! How many wolf beastkins, which are ILLEGAL, ready at the call of the government (and not too important to send away) do you think there are. This is also a show of alliance! The official answer though is that you two know each other already.

Cue Lycion being a bad teacher who just always goes "Okay so when you get the urge to eat raw meat, don't do that" and a Laios who's been enabled one too many times and is now running off doing whatever he wants howling at midnight in his room, cue therian on furry violence, cue Lycion corruption arc where Laios goes "come be a dog with me :3" more and more convincingly. They were born to play fight together as wolf monstery humanoids, thank you

Alternatively this is all fanfic that king Laios is making of himself when he has free time. The classic "skip work and be a wolf" fantasy

can't stop thinking abt the concept of arthur hearing about this 'emrys' throughout different occasions here and there in the beginning of s4, and at first not thinking much of it, then when the name keeps getting repeated from different villains/sorcerers he interacts with, it finally catches his attention and he becomes genuinely concerned. he makes it a bit of a personal mission to find out who he is, but it's all a very lowkey side plot that's not the main focus (think of the 'traitor' arc also in s4). of course he talks about it with merlin, but to avoid suspicion, merlin shuts him down every time and tries to make him think this mysterious sorcerer is nothing to worry about.

as more time goes on, and the more arthur learns about this powerful sorcerer always protecting him from harm, and as much as he hates to admit this to anyone, most of all himself, as he's only ever been taught to hate magic and anything to do with it- he starts realizing 'emrys' is less of this evil entity that he has to hunt down and kill, and more of a guardian angel that he has genuine interest now in getting to meet. which would also be interesting in terms of contradicting morgana's plot in the same season.

then, in the s4 finale, something that merlin does or says at the end makes him finally connect the dots. he says nothing. the season closes with him just.......... left with the unbearable conflict of it all. the feeling of absolute betrayal from his own friend- the closest person to him that he turned out to not really Know at all, the anger at being lied to and his own obliviousness, all with also the gratitude to this man who has been protecting him without asking for anything in return, the confusion of why he's doing any of it, and the question deep down whether he even deserves it. he is just. left with so many questions and contradicting feelings that he just... says nothing. and we are left with this as the cliffhanger for s4's ending.

I want to see Fenris in Veilguard. I NEED to see Fenris in Veilguard.

Not just because he knows Tevinter well, but because he's the lyrium ghost.

He's the lyrium ghost at a time the titans seem to have woken. His skin is marked with their blood! That has to have some effect.

If we consider elves in general as being closer to the Fade (considering their ancestry) he could be considered a mix of the fade + the stone.

Who do we know who likes to experiment? And who has just been released?

Who would find the lyrium ghost an interesting subject??

So, yeah. I need Fenris in Veilguard.

(Also consider: who better to break Solas out of his fade prison?!!)

Every single royal introduction took so embarrassingly long. Sitting on her overly ornate throne and listening to the adviser open the throne room for court and business matters took three minutes just to say her full name.

"The throne of Crown Princess Nimue Adir Delecroix, First of Her Name, of the Third House Of The Crystal, of the Platinum Locks..."

Yadda, yadda, yadda. She did her best to keep from looking bored this time, scanning the room for all who gathered. It was the usual nobles from all over, coming to make her acquaintance and ask for favors in exchange for favors. In the least, it was good practice for her magical talents. She just had to mind her manners magic wise.

"...is now open for greetings and audience. We now introduce Sir Fielding Barogard from the Dark Isles..."

And one by one, nobles and royals from all over came to seek her knowledge of all things, and ask for magical favors for their problems. All were easy to solve, and her magic was cast on point and the prices for it were fair. Just another day of meeting new people who pretended to care. It was lonely, tiring work. She only held out hope that she could meet someone she could connect with.
