maybe i'm overthinking but the similarities are driving me crazy

s8: starts simple! just things we can dismiss as hermits being hermits. then, very quickly, things start becoming more drastic. blocks are flying, players are flying, and hell, the moon is big.

s10: starts simple! just some silly shenanigans and weird letters in the mail. we all know something is in the water this season, whether it be mumbo's pollution or the crazy dredger. normal hermit stuff, really. and then there's.. the strange clip. we learn of an exile program, and that spawn has been moved. to where? well, we can't say exactly, but somewhere outside of the world border. oh and don't mind the weapons the permit staff now carries!! ignore that they're named things like banisher haha.

For Context: Nico finds himself in the underbelly of a magical scheme and doesn’t know how to navigate but some monster in the crowd seems to make some deal with him that gets him out of it more or less. He’s not completely sure what’s going on but he and the mysterious monster are escorted to a hallway and told to go through the one door on the side and to “not keep them waiting” and the door slams behind them.

Excerpt:

Nico walks down the hallway with the mysterious human figure, shrouded in black shadowy mist. Away from the prying eyes of the monsters down the corridor and who knows what on the other side of the doors, Nico takes his chance. He grabs at where the figures neck would be and slams it against the wall. It gives out a choke. "I don't know if you're here to actually help me or use me as a shield for whatever is coming next, but either way I have no reason to trust you. So we're gonna do exactly as I say got it??" The figure coughs and gasps. "Well," it says "that's certainly not a way to treat someone who's just ~cough~ saved your ass Di Angelo." The figure chokes out in a voice that has come to be familiar to Nico. The shroud of dark mist falls to reveal a smirking, freckled face. "And if you're gonna pin me to the wall at least buy me dinner first" Alabaster says, his grin widening. "You?" Nico says "And here I thought we were on a last name basis, yes ME. Now are you gonna squeeze tighter" he says with a playful wink "...or let me go?"  He finishes with a deadpan expression. Nico is actually unsure whether to let go or not. Alabaster isn't an enemy but he did trick him before, Nico’s  still not sure he can trust the guy. Also was he...flirting? (Now is to the time to think about that) "Listen I don't have time to unpack all of .../that/" Nico says with a gesture to Al's vague entirety before letting go of his throat. "Do you know where this thing  leads?" He points to the door at the end of the hall. Al gasps again and adjusts his shoulders and neck. "You do get right down to business don't you" "They are probably already wondering why we're not in there yet...you wanna make fucking small talk?" Nico scoffs. "Good point, but I thought I was to 'do exactly as you say'?" Al mocks him, overstraightening his shoulders, and feigning obedience. Not unlike a dog told to "sit".  Which was apt considering he was being a b- "So why are you asking me~" Alabaster adds, interrupting Nico’s thought. It's Nico's turn to deadpan "If you know something I don't...I want to know too so I can be prepared" "You want to know what I know and you don't?...hmm I thought we were low on time.” Nico winds up a punch and Al puts his arms up "Joking! Di Angelo,...goodness, you have no sense of humor" “ I’ll have you know I have a superb sense of humor.” He shakes his head and slugs Al’s shoulder.   “you’re just not that funny” “I’m hilarious” “You’re unhelpful” “oh you Olympian campers…never know how to do anything unless you have bloody prophecy huh. How’s this:  He recites a verse that is a vague warning of what’s to come that, while vulgar does, to its credit, rhyme Nico is irritated….and mildly impressed. “better??” Nico’s lips make a line that if it were anymore defined would achieve a level of straightness that would be unacceptable on his gay face.

the two are different v models yes :]

neither has an individual name but collectively they were "the dragonfly project", an even hastier attempt sometime after v2's creation to make some use out of the v model design, but instead of combat or security the purpose was Spying and Reconnaissance

Namekkos: The Clockwork Plane

On the plane of Namekkos, everything is mechanical. The beasts and birds whir and click across the land, the people wind themselves up each day, and even the vegetation consists of simple machines. Whether the plane was artificially created as a mad experiment by an oldwalker, or was once truly alive before technology ran unchecked, no one knows. To the inhabitants, this is what Namekkos has always been.

In the northern reaches of the continent of Terle, the Kosmengeve Empire plots dominion. Led by Kosmen, the self-titled World Mind, Kosmengeve is a singular hive mind that aims to enfold all sentient organisms into itself. The proliferation of telegraph technology in recent years has allowed Kosmen to rapidly extend its reach. The lack of wireless technology limits how fast Kosmengeve can expand; however, long enough exposure to Kosmen can break down an organism's individuality enough that, even disconnected from the World Mind briefly, it still thinks of itself as an extension of Kosmen. Having expanded to the northern border of Terle, the Empire now feels its way southward, where the people are less than pleased to be absorbed.

South of Kosmengeve and somewhat protected by the Gensto mountain range lies the Association of Artina. Led by the Council of Vyst, Artina is a scientifically-focused society. Home to artificers, bioengineers, and naturalists, Artinans believe that nature is the greatest inventor. That's no excuse for stagnation though: it is every person's right, and even imperative, to continuously improve the mechanisms of nature. The Association doesn't have an end goal in mind, but posits that the process itself is the point. The leading minds of Artina are known as clockmakers, and their latest discovery is a mysterious energy called anima, which may be the motive force powering all life on the plane.

To the south of Terle, on the smaller continent of Tersol, the Morex Syndicate is in control. Less a political structure and more a response to Kosmen's growing reach, the Syndicate is an anarchistic collection of individuals who simply want what's best for themselves. Inhabitants of Tersol disdain the Terlian notions of societal evolution; rather, they desire merely to be allowed to modify themselves however they want, and don't care how that impacts those around them.

Venser has come to Namekkos while in search of another metal world. Intrigued by the artifice he finds, he decides to spend just a little time looking around, and discovers something shocking. He meets a promising young naturalist named Temmar; to Venser's surprise, he can tell that Temmar has a planeswalker spark, throwing into question what it means to be alive. As the Kosmengeve Empire presses into Artinan territory, Temmar gets thrown into the labyrinth of Association higher political and academic circles, while also trying to study this stranger who seems to be studying him in return.
