CALLING EVERYONE IN THE "HELLO PUPPETS" FANDOM
MORTIMER HANDEE HAS A VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE!!!!
VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
Vote for the poll! It contains these 5 lovely fandoms!
Amanda the Adventurer
Welcome Home
Hello Puppets!
Smile for Me
Poppy Playtime!
Oh? What exactly are you voting for? A crossover special of course! A crossover between the 5 fandoms above and My Friendly Neighborhood!
And in case you don't know what My Friendly Neighborhood is, lemme explain!
My Friendly Neighborhood is basically what happens when you mix Resident Evil and Sesame Street together! You play as Gordon, an old handyman who is tasked with taking down the antennae in the My Friendly Neighborhood studio (which has been broadcasting old episodes over the news!) and ends up getting chased down by some slightly unhinged puppets....
Go Check MFN out if you have the chance! It's a lovely game! If you like puppets (which I'm sure members of the Hello Puppets community does) and if you like a very valuable lesson AND a subversion of the ole' mascot horror genre, then you will LOVE MFN!
OH AND THE POLL (click below!)
WE ONLY HAVE 5 DAYS AND 19 HOURS LEFT SO YOUR JOB IS TO SPREAD THIS INFO FAR AND WIDE!

also sorry for never shutting up about this but i got to gem's ep and after grian dies they keep saying he lasted so long because he had so many hearts. he had 2 rows. they understandably chalk it up to hearts but underestimate the sheer willpower of a rabid blood-covered creature backed into a corner frothing at the mouth and biting everything in sight

We’ve reached the end guys!
This is going to be a double update, so I’ll post the links to both chapters down the bottom, but oh my gosh I’m getting kind of emotional.
Thank you guys so much for engaging with this story and for reading it, I usually post these just for me because I am my own target audience, so my account really is just a little time capsule of things I love, but to see other people enjoying it too really makes my little nerd heart happy, so thank you!
Before I get too cheesy, here are the links for chapters 17 and 18 of The Man Out Of Time!

dean studies, figure 2: dean as the caretaker and peacekeeper
sam and john are depicted as the “obsessive” ones...the ones who get caught up in their revenge quests, fueled by their emotions while dean--dean is the rock. dean is the caretaker. dean is steady. and it contradicts the fanon interpretation that dean is / has always been “the angry one.” he was not the angry one. he doesn’t let himself really be angry, feel angry, until after john dies. for 27 years he could not afford to be angry. there was no room for his anger. there was already too much anger is their family, and dean had to put his aside to mitigate, bury his own feelings, to diffuse john and sam’s anger. before john’s death and before hell--because it’s only really after hell and 40 years of literal torture that dean starts to lean into his anger--he was always the peacemaker, always playing the mediator to the two hot-heads constantly clashing. he had to be calm and steady and reliable, he had to be obedient and loyal and good. he took care of his family, he provided, he made sure sam was fed no matter the personal cost to himself, he looked after his dad even when he didn’t deserve it. he had to be more than just a brother, he had to be a father and he had to be a mother.

PSA: Nat’s ranting abt art! (again) What’s new?
for context ,, some people went to the museum of modern art in nyc and made a tiktok where they jokingly posed in front of all the paintings “they could’ve easily done themselves” and I knew scrolling through the comments would be a masochistic move even if the video itself was funny ,,, but I did it anyway and was punished for it 😭 like,,,
anyway,,, thinking about when Walter Benjamin said the rise of cinema and television and ad culture has led the masses to contemplate true art as a form of seeking out distraction:
“Reception of art now normally happens in a state of distraction. […] The public is an examiner, but an absent-minded one.”
People are no longer looking at art to seek but they’re looking at art to tell. Rothkos and Kleins don’t provide the adequate distraction for the public eye. The art and artists demand you seek outside of the work, or else it feels like a comical joke (if you’re not willing to do that). A joke that you’re not in on. Which is why so many people have so many problems with Modern Art.
Historicizing Art would tell you that the blue square was a completely new handmade pigment that had never been seen before! It was a completely new color that the artist had made! It would also tell you that the the technical level of artistry required to paint the blue completely smooth canvas was profound. Even the smallest brushstroke or fleck of dust on wet paint would cause texture and unwanted dimension. Furthermore, monochrome paintings were not common during this time. In fact Ives Klein’s blue square was one of the first of its kind. He wanted to viewer to spend a great deal of time with his paintings so that they would get lost in the color as one gets lost in the vastness of the ocean or the infiniteness of the sky. He wanted viewers to appreciate the color he so masterfully crafted. (he did not account for viewers looking at it for .2 seconds, scoffing abt how easy it looked to make, and then writing it off as a money laundering scheme) He not only invented a new painting but a new way to look at art. It’s a painting about the artists’ process, about his artistic mastery and level of skill. Its also about breaking the mold. That’s what it’s means. None of these things you could know from simply looking at the square. No one would expect you too. But asking questions, researching things that don’t make sense to you, talking to a museum curator, reading the wall text, popping onto to google, these are easy things to to do.
Also fun fact: A color blind Eddie Redmayne wrote his thesis on Ives Klein Blue because he was actually able to distinguish it from other hues for his Art History Thesis! That’s pretty cool!
Anyway, the point is, it makes me sad how quick people are to write off things they don’t understand. They don’t want to bother learning especially when it comes to art. Because the paintings no longer spell out exactly what is there and what it’s trying to say for the viewer, they become useless. Any further need for explanation is written off as pretentious. You don’t have to love modern art! But it would be nice if more people were at least open to trying to understand it a bit better.

K so Hikari and Osvald knowing each other before canon due to distant family connections is great and can lead to hilarity if we ignore the obvious angst later.
The Prince came back from his trip, he looks happier and peppier so it probably was a good trip. Now it's time for the routine of the Prince coming up to the nicer soldiers and asking for a quick spar and you are the nicer soldiers so you comply. As he goes and shows you his improved swordwork he then goes and lobs a fireball at you, burning most of the field.
He immediately apologizes for it and says how he should have practiced first before applying magic to sparring, and you forgive him because he's the Prince and you're honestly too shocked to be angry.
Several hours later everyone is asking if you taught him magic because you were the first one he talked to and used magic in front of. Everyone is confused on how he did it and are trying to come up with a feasible answer. You have none because you're just some guy with a sword on guard duty.
This goes on for several months, and one day you are watching the Prince go up against General Mugen which- Gods this is probably only happening because the General wanted to prove a point and humiliate his brother and prove that he is weak or something like that. And then out of nowhere, the Prince steps back, calls for Alephan to aid him, and then screams "TONITRUS CANERE"
So you now have a fear of lightning and the Prince is being scolded on proper control over the magical arts.
Several weeks later you heard that the King wrote to the Prince's Teacher in the Magical Arts concerning his lack of control, only to be given a letter back that, while goes and apologizes for not working on the Prince's lack of magical control, effectively calls the King foolish for thinking Prince Hikari wouldn't want to practice his magical skills and that there should be tutors who should be helping him practice so that he doesn't always practice during sparring.
You then find out that a separate letter was sent to the King that is practically a call-out to all the war Ku has waged and how it will eventually lead to nothing and how the King is ineffective in leadership and how the Kingdom will eventually fall because of several pissed off people.
You still don't know what's happening but now the Prince is offering you to learn some lightning magic to perhaps help with the fear of lightning, something you appreciate.

Hi, just going to come clean with you. I read your story and it really triggered me for some reason? You keep hinting at a reader 'backstory' and that trend is getting so old. Giving the reader a backstory literally takes away the whole essence of it being an X READER. I was not/never will be a nurse and I don't see why people like to put readers in someone else's shoes like god damn, just make it a Syntax x OC fanfic, its not that hard, we won't be upset or mad at you for making something self indulgent.
Literally. You wrote in the tags??? That it was self indulgent?? That self indulgent shit go woo?? Honey. Just come clean with US. It's really pissing me off.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
