Chapter 3️⃣1️⃣‼️Since I have been 25, birthdays have been a time of sorrow for me. #itsmybirthday

I am very goal-oriented, ambitious, determined, continually striving for greatness, & not really content with settling for less than being at my highest & fullest potential. When I fall short of being who I thought I could have been by whatever age I am turning, it leads to me soaking in my failure. #itismybirthday

However, thanks to all of the people who encouraged me on my 3️⃣0️⃣th birthday, which was my most difficult birthday thus far, this birthday just feels special. I am proud of “my strides” I have made this year, as my grandmother would say. #mybirthday

I am thankful for God seeing to it that I did not remain where I was last year. Instead, I made a lot of progress on all of my goals that I had. #mybirthdaytoday

There is still so many more messages I have to preach, so many more posts I have to share, so many more people I have to bless, & so many more places I must go in order to spread the Gospel. There is just so much more work to be done. #mybirthdaymonth

I’m making the biggest moves I have ever tried to make in my life, prayerfully happening next year. However, if they don’t happen, I’m just happy to be continually “making strides” towards all of the rewards & blessings that our heavenly Father has waiting in store specially for Sean Christopher Jenkins only! #90sbabes

My little sister has breast cancer. If you know me at all, you know my sister too. We've been inseparable since 1985. Everything I've done in my life, Audrey has been by my side. As you can imagine, a cancer diagnosis at any age is terrible; 36 and a mother of two small kids is just plain awful...and the fact that it's the same type of cancer that my mom had 8 years ago makes this journey more deeply personal than we could ever have imagined. Having said all of this, Audrey has a really good prognosis. She caught this illness early with preventative care, good doctors and expedited treatment. Just last week, she had her double mastectomy surgery and we were all relieved to find out that the cancer had not spread. The fight is not over for her though...she has a couple more surgeries, a year of continued treatments, probably hundreds of doctor appointments and the rest of her life to monitor her illness. This fight never ends. Our family and friends are doing the same walk we did for my mom in 2014 with the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides" foundation. They raise money for everything related to breast cancer; truly this organization does it all...car rides to treatment, lodging for family members during surgery, clinical research grants, the resources are endless. If you can, walk with us. The event is 10/30/22 in Las Vegas. We are all dressing like a bunch of beanie babies and the team name is "Beanie Boobies"...cause it's fun and why the hell not?! If you can't walk, please consider donating. Any amount is helpful. Our family has been so fortunate with our access to care for this disease, but many are struggling and "Making Strides" continues to be a significant difference maker in the lives of those touched by breast cancer. I'll end this with Audrey's own story as to how she discovered her tumor...she felt it with a self-exam. Women, please please please do regular exams on your boobies. Jan 6th 2021: It’s my first lesson of the new year and look, I’m standing all the way straight! It took some support from awesome people and a pillow, but I did it! My left leg didn’t want to stretch down while I was on Cappy, so we opted to dismount early, love on him and do some standing and stretching instead! It felt really good to be able to fully extend my knees, as my hamstrings are so tight that when I stand on my own with support, I am still crouched down. Although today didn’t go as I had envisioned for myself because my body was being uncooperative , I’m still proud of what I accomplished and that we were able to come up with another strategy to improve my riding! Huge thanks to Cappy for being such a good sport with my awkwardness today. .
