TJ: For the last time, we aren't aliens.

Magnus: And we're all kind of already dead.

Alex: Should I just kill him now and put us all out of our misery?

It's that time again, when Mal decides that everything in her life will be fixed with one simple thing that's going to be the solution to all her fuckups AuDHD. This time I'm going back to bullet journalling!

Got myself a nice B5 size journal (sadly not purple) and just need to get (or make) a cover (purple. or pink. with a bit of purple) for it. I've done bullet journalling before and it does help, so long as I remember to check it and update 🤣

This time I've printed out an A5 sticker with a one month checklist of daily metrics. I'm using them as prompts, rather than a 'must do' list, so that I don't burn myself out trying to keep up with an unrealistic schedule. I'll be recording in Health, Home, as well as Happiness categories so that everything isn't boring chores!

Health:

Brush teeth (I'm 45 and ADHD brain doesn't remember to brush my teeth every day)

Shower (if i have a run of too many days off and don't need to leave the house, I don't shower until I get gross. See above re ADHD brain)

Exercise (I'm trying to do another monthly pushups challenge with the Mr Sadman server)

5 Happy Things (I used to be on a Ravelry forum where when people were feeling down, they'd post a list of five happy things. They could be really small, really silly, or really important. It didn't matter. What did matter was that there were always enough things in your life that made you happy that you could find five of them to list. I need to focus on that a bit more, I think - I encourage anyone reading this to join in and post their own!)

Progress (Hi, I'm Mallory, and I'm a hoarder. Not as bad as some, and living with Mr Mallory helps keep it in check, but. I definitely have a problem. I need to reduce my clothes, shoes, and craft supplies, and to organise the bedroom, living room, and craft room so that they're useable and not embarrassing if we have people over)

Adding the fun stuff to the same list so that I don't 'punish' myself by withholding the activities that give me the good dopamine because I haven't completed all the chores. Life is about balance.

I'm not doing any fancy layouts or calligraphy or washi tapes etc. This is a functional tool to help with a neurodevelopmental disability, exactly as it was intended. The only fancy thing is that I'll be using four different colours of ink (Zebra Z Grip ballpoint pens in pink, purple, blue and green) so that my metric chart looks a bit pretty, and I'll be cycling through one colour per day so that my daily diary section is easy to differentiate by date at a glance.

So, today's five happy things!

my predictions: i am 100% on paige episode, we are for sure getting paige i will be SHOCKED if we don’t get paige. they might hold off on the reveal of val’s plan or they might have it happen asap so the last three episodes are dealing with it. and *maybe* some faulkner since it’s been a bit but the deal with shrue going off is the priority plot-wise and i do not think they can have all four plot threads in one ep without horrible pacing and bloating so faulk may not be showing up until the final three. we will see.

007 Fest - Moneypenny Monday!

It's Moneypenny Monday people! This means that I'm sharing a playlist and some Moneypenny headcanons for everyone to enjoy.

Moneypenny would've been a double-oh if Bond hadn't "died" after she shot him. By the time he came back, she was already cemented as M's (unofficial) number 2. Tanner is the official number 2 but everyone knows Moneypenny has the real power.

Bond and Alec both have a healthy fear/respect for Eve. Bond because, well, she shot him. Alec because he once saw her chew out both Tanner and Mallory at once and both just looked meek.

Moneypenny and Q both like being underestimated, and they're lunches (in which Moneypenny feeds Q and drags him from his work), often consist of them telling each other their favorite "they underestimated me and here's why it's so funny" stories.

Playlist:

Moneypenny has a lot on her plate, and sometimes when she feels down or like she's being crushed by "The Man" aka her boss, she puts on this playlist and dances around her apartment to feel like the badass woman she is. She also uses this playlist when she runs or trains, as it gets her heartbeat pumping. Are there any songs she missed that should be added?

Sebastian watched the man looking at himself in the bathroom mirror. He hadn’t needed to turn on any of the other lights in this large home of his - had known the way in the dark - and so he hadn’t seen the stranger standing in his hallway with a PSS in his hand. Sebastian could see him, framed in the bright blueish light-box of the open door; pulling his gloves off finger by finger, taking a pill, staring at himself as if inspecting a soldier lined up with the rest of his regiment.

He was unlike any of the targets Sebastian had had so far. Not like the slick Russian крыши and their ski-tanned girlfriends, or the wrecked old American generals on their blue-veined legs. Not even like the usual ex-British-officer-class, with their rabbit pie on the stove, their funny slang, their cauliflower ears. Most of them knew they were marked out for death, and were accordingly paranoid and predictable, perhaps that was the difference. Sebastian had never perforated the world of British intelligence before. All he had seen of it had been Mallory’s impressively understated police escort that morning. An information leak to the Russian right had led to 20 deaths on Monday. It was obvious there was a traitor in the upper echelons of MI6. But they couldn’t find the bastard. And things were going from bad to worse at Vauxhall. No one was safe from suspicion. Not even the chief. Increasingly, especially not the chief. The water was getting hot for Gareth Mallory. Sebastian’s employer, like everyone else in Moscow, knew it wasn’t Mallory, of course. But that was immaterial.

‘Excuse me,’ he inquired, stalking silently towards the bathroom and gradually into the light bleeding out from it over the lacquered floorboards. ‘If you don’t mind, I’m here to kill you and make it look like a shameful suicide. Or, the other option, but I’m fairly certain you’ll choose this one, it is the easiest way out of your situation.’

Mallory McMorrow, D-Royal Oak, walked onstage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago with a prop: A giant book featuring the cover of Project 2025, a playbook for the next conservative presidential administration. McMorrow slammed the book on the podium. "This is Project 2025," she said, prompting boos from the crowd of Democrats. "And whatever you think it is, it is so much worse." During a theatrical five-minute speech Monday night, McMorrow focused on how the book from the conservative Heritage Foundation think tank — whose authors include some who served in former President Donald Trump's administration — lays out a "plan to turn Donald Trump into a dictator." She flipped to page 535 of the book and highlighted its call to reissue a Trump executive order to overhaul the U.S. civil service. "They're talking about replacing the entire federal government with an army of loyalists who answer only to Donald Trump," McMorrow said. She turned to another page and zeroed in on a passage underscoring conservatives' belief "in either ending law enforcement activities of independent agencies or ending their independent status." It was included in a section about the future of the Federal Trade Commission and its antitrust enforcement.

But McMorrow said the passage lays out an ominous future for other federal law enforcement agencies. "But what it means is that under Project 2025, Donald Trump would be able to weaponize the Department of Justice to go after his political opponents. He could even turn the FBI into his own personal police force. That is not how it works in America," McMorrow shouted over cheers. "That's how it works in dictatorships. And that's exactly what Donald Trump and his MAGA minions have in mind: an expansion of presidential powers like no president has ever had or should ever have."

considering ben's irl russian-spy-infiltrating-germany-then-switching-to-mi6 grandad, i have always headcanoned q as being the child of a soviet asset who was turned by mi6. that's why he's so young (by mi6 standards) - because he's been on their radar since he was little. maybe he started out hacking into the kremlin and fucking with them out of petty teenage spite as revenge for them threatening his family or something? idk. but either way, m felt it was better to have him in the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in. he's been there so long he's part of the furniture now, even though to outsiders he's way too young and impulsive to be a branch head. (he still fucks with the kremlin's firewalls during downtime, but what mallory doesn't know can't hurt him)
