The Impact of Mobile Apps on Patient Engagement in Healthcare
In the rapidly evolving landscape of healthcare, the integration of mobile apps has revolutionized patient engagement. Mobile apps have become powerful tools that not only enhance communication between patients and healthcare providers but also empower individuals to take charge of their health and well-being. The impact of mobile apps on patient engagement in healthcare is profound and multifaceted, leading to improved outcomes, increased efficiency, and a more personalized approach to healthcare delivery. Furthermore, for pharma distributors, apps like iKris Health + offer unprecedented opportunities for streamlining operations, optimizing supply chains, and enhancing customer relationships.
Enhancing Communication and Accessibility Mobile apps have bridged the gap between patients and healthcare providers, enabling seamless communication and access to medical information. Patients can easily schedule appointments, receive medication reminders, access test results, and communicate with their healthcare team in real-time. This enhanced accessibility fosters a sense of empowerment and involvement in one's healthcare journey, leading to better adherence to treatment plans and improved health outcomes.
Empowering Patients through Education and Monitoring Mobile apps offer a wealth of resources and tools that empower patients to make informed decisions about their health. From educational materials on specific conditions to personalized wellness tips, mobile apps provide valuable information that promotes health literacy and encourages proactive health management. Additionally, apps that allow patients to track their symptoms, monitor vital signs, and record medication adherence enable individuals to actively participate in their care actively, leading to better self-management and overall health improvement.
Personalizing Healthcare Delivery and Improving Outcomes By leveraging data collected through mobile apps, healthcare providers can gain valuable insights into patient behavior, preferences, and health status. This data-driven approach enables personalized care plans tailored to individual needs, preferences, and goals. Through remote monitoring and telehealth services facilitated by mobile apps, healthcare providers can offer timely interventions, preventive care, and continuous support, ultimately leading to improved outcomes and patient satisfaction.
Ikris Health+ is poised to transform the accessibility of rare medications with its innovative features. Users can effortlessly explore a vast database to locate medicines unavailable locally. The platform also provides transparency on medication costs and educates users on their country's regulations regarding unregistered drugs. Furthermore, the app offers swift support through a simple inquiry submission process. This initiative reflects Ikris Pharma Network's commitment to enhancing global healthcare access by facilitating the procurement of essential medications despite geographical and regulatory challenges. You can install this application as Ikris Health Plus Apps on Google Play is available.
The impact of mobile apps on patient engagement in healthcare is transformative, empowering individuals to become active participants in their health journey. By enhancing communication, providing education and monitoring tools, and personalizing healthcare delivery, mobile apps have revolutionized the way patients interact with the healthcare system. As technology continues to advance, the potential for mobile apps to further improve patient engagement and outcomes in healthcare is limitless.

If anyone has taken their eyes off what's happening to federal workers in the US right now, here's some highlights that we're hearing from our comrades across the government who have not yet been fired:
In one building (hosting multiple agencies), the locks on the bathroom were changed so employees no longer have any access to a bathroom during the workday. People are peeing in trash cans.
Elsewhere, multiple agencies have reported that hand soap is no longer being supplied in the bathrooms.
Toilet paper supplies have not been adjusted to meet the needs of a vastly increased number of in-office employees.
Employee-owned coffee and coffee makers have been stolen or thrown away without notice (it was already illegal for taxpayer dollars to be spent on supplying federal employees with amenities like coffee, so many offices have coffee supplied by pooled employee funds).
Meanwhile, many offices don't even have potable drinking water (recurrent legionella outbreaks), so employees have to bring their own water from home.
Despite an explosion in the number of workers in offices, cleaning budgets have been slashed and many offices are not being cleaned regularly enough to remain sanitary. Pests like roaches and rats are a problem.
The firings continue, legal and illegal. Entire programs are being cut. Managers have no idea when they might lose staff. Employees are getting fired at 6pm on a weekend or finding out when they're unable to log into their computer or when they receive a shipping label in the mail to return their equipment.
Through all of this, the DOGE employees in federal workplaces are enjoying incredible and expensive luxury: AI-powered sleep pods, entire dormitories so they can live in federal buildings, nurseries for their children on site, free food and beverages, laundry services, and who knows what else. They have special security to restrict access to their areas of the buildings, including armed guards.
And I'm not just saying this to lament how bad it is for federal workers. I'm saying this because, as workers are reporting this to one another, the response is, inevitably: "This is illegal." "Yes, but who would I report it to? OPM? They're a DOGE puppet. OSHA? They've cut OSHA. The Inspectors General? Cut. The NLRB? Cut. My union? No longer recognized."
There is no one left to enforce these laws, so taking away access to basic sanitation is now effectively legal. They are doing this to federal workers, who historically have been some of the best-protected workers in the country. They are doing this specifically because it demonstrates to the public sector that it is now legal to do these things to their own workers.

So. Feral.

In all seriousness, she WAS completely feral and it took 8 years to get to this point. I worked very hard to even get her to trust me enough to eat the food I would put out. Now she is such a lovey dovey little shit. Very bitey stil, but it's done in an affectionate way.
#TNR programs save lives#feral cats#she is still an outside cat#but I do manage to get her inside when it gets really cold#she stays mad at me for like three days#and then she realizes she has unlimited access to pets and can bite me whenever she wants#and then she forgets the outside exists for a couple weeks#and come spring she demands to be let out again#i love them so much#cats

Trump got absolutely dumpstered in court in the last few days.
His and Elon's program to pay people to retire early has been halted by a temporary restraining order issued by District Judge George A. O’Toole Jr. of the US District Court, District of Massachusetts in American Federation of Government Employees et al v. Charles Ezell (acting Acting Director of the Office of Personnel Management). This temporary order only lasts until they have a hearing on Monday to determine whether this program is constitutional.
13 state attorneys general sued to prevent Elon from accessing personal data about government employees and citizen clients of their agencies, leading to Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly in the case Alliance for Retired Americans v. Scott Bessent (Trump's Secretary of the Treasury) ordering the Department of Justice to ensure no unauthorized persons, including Elon and his team, have access to the Labor Department's database of information on tax filings, employment, and the like.
Two separate judges have ruled that Trump's executive order trying to eliminate birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment is unconstitutional. U.S. District Judge John Coughenour of the western Washington district, a REAGAN appointee (!), said, "It has become ever more apparent that to our president the rule of law is but an impediment to his policy goals. The rule of law is, according to him, something to navigate around or simply ignore, whether that be for political or personal gain." The other judge, US District Judge Deborah Boardman of Maryland, ruled that the executive order cannot be implemented until she has had a chance to rule on the merits of the case.
US District Court Judge Royce C. Lamberth in DC paused Trump’s restrictions on transgender women being incarcerated in women’s prisons and federal prisons providing gender-affirming medical treatment, after inmates (!) sued to block the policy.
US District Judge Loren L. Alikhan of DC broadly blocked the Trump administration’s memo halting almost all federal assistance.
That's six rulings scrapping five of Trump's major policy operations in the past four days (Feb 3rd through the 6th, 2025).
That's news worth celebrating!

Been a hot minute, good to be posting again!
Very happy to catch up. Gigantic link under the cut!
I've had the journey this year of learning I have an autoimmune condition, learning how to manage those numerous diagnoses, and am incredibly happy to share that things are calming down with my health thanks to putting the same diligence and effort into finding answers and treatment as I do with my game's development. Thought it would be nice to share my thoughts and how I'm continuing making a large, commercial visual novel in the process!
I wrote up a gigantic devlog to expand on my personal experiences with motivation, project management, living with disability, and sharing a HUGE amount of progress made on my dark fantasy and horror VN this last year!
There's a lot of previews, screenshots, and memes. Like a lot. This is far and away the largest devlog I have ever written, but I've got a lot to say about the subject.
It's no coincidence that themes like overcoming great adversity, and compassion in the face of horror really deeply resonates with me. These things are integral to my game, and more frequently in my personal life. I've had so much joy being able to share authentic and meaningful stories, and to have overwhelming support from my community has meant the world!
I'm deeply looking forward to getting momentum rolling faster with my project, and hope to anyone new to Catalyst: Blind Faith that you enjoy some of these previews if you take a look.
The link is below, if you'd like to check it out!

Humans entering space and realizing we are so small. We are mice compared to these giant races with their advanced machinery and technologies and experiences beyond us- except that we're humans. And our engineers dive into the new tech and once we learn the principles we also soon realize how Inefficient everything is. Their "microchips" are the size of cars, their storage drives are basically buildings, and they somehow store less data than ours. So, human companies take advantage, and tech starts rolling out. Massive and there's a lot of wasted space so that it can be managed with larger hands/pincers/claws/tentacles, but also so much more efficient than anything the galaxy has seen before.
Human technicians start hopping ships and upkeeping the general maintenance, the stuff that most aliens put off or don't notice because they never access the crevices of their ships. As human companies become more popular and lead the tech world in everything from warp cores to game stations ("it's so compact! How are the graphics so good?" Says a 60' tall grimbleback, holding a new VR headset that has all of its components included because it's so BIG by our tech standards), soon many things have accessibility ports for humans to be able to use as well. This means that these shiprats hoping ship to ship cause such a huge improvement in everything running smoothly, and there's a huge downtick in pests on ships because those "pests" are not only big enough and aggressive enough to bite a pitbull or a person in half, they're invasive to so many planets and humans hate nothing more than dog killing planet overrunning monsters.
All the while, from the Aliens perspective, humans are an elusive race that don't fraternize much with them. You almost never see a human as most places aren't exactly safe for the little things to run around in. They do export so much stuff though, and the custodial staff at the Central Galactic Outpost insists that there's more humans around than any other race if you just know where to look.
And sure it's somewhat known that some of the little daredevils hop ships and help out in exchange for room and board, usually without permission, but that can't be that common, can it?
Maybe your ship is running better this cycle ever since you stopped at the last station, that just means that tuneup was better than you thought. And maybe for some reason that program you were working on last night is finished when you wake up, but you're so tired maybe you finished it before you passed out. Somehow that faulty light in the galley has fixed itself as well, which is odd, but maybe the Engineer finally got to it. You'd know if there was someone else on your ship.
Right?
... You leave a little bowl of berries out as a thank you, just in case. You're not sure what humans like but you've heard they have a sweet tooth.

Someone accessed my Gmail 2 days ago, compromising my linked accounts like Twitter and YouTube. Here's how it happened, why I fell for it, and what you can learn to avoid making the same mistake:

The scam I fell victim to was a cookie hijack. The hacker used malicious software to steal my browser cookies (stuff like autofill, auto sign in, etc), allowing them to sign in to my Gmail and other accounts, completely bypassing my 2FA and other security protocols.
A few days ago, I received a DM from @Rachael_Borrows, who claimed to be a manager at @Duolingo. The account seemed legitimate. It was verified, created in 2019, and had over 1k followers, consistent with other managers I’d seen at the time n I even did a Google search of this person and didnt find anything suspicious.
She claimed that @Duolingo wanted me to create a promo video, which got me excited and managed to get my guard down. After discussing I was asked to sign a contract and at app(.)fastsigndocu(.)com. If you see this link, ITS A SCAM! Do NOT download ANY files from this site.
Unfortunately, I downloaded a file from the website, and it downloaded without triggering any firewall or antivirus warnings. Thinking it was just a PDF, I opened it. The moment I did, my console and Google Chrome flashed. That’s when I knew I was in trouble. I immediately did an antivirus scan and these were some of the programs it found that were added to my PC without me knowing:
The thing about cookie hijacking is that it completely bypasses 2FA which should have been my strongest line of defense. I was immediately signed out of all my accounts and within a minute, they changed everything: passwords, 2FA, phone, recovery emails, backup codes, etc.
I tried all methods but hit dead ends trying to recover them. Thankfully, my Discord wasn’t connected, so I alerted everyone I knew there. I also had an alternate account, @JLCmapping, managed by a friend, which I used to immediately inform @/TeamYouTube about the situation
Meanwhile, the hackers turned my YouTube channel into a crypto channel and used my Twitter account to spam hundreds of messages, trying to use my image and reputation to scam more victims
Thankfully, YouTube responded quickly and terminated the channel. Within 48 hours, they locked the hacker out of my Gmail and restored my access. They also helped me recover my channel, which has been renamed to JoetasticOfficial since Joetastic_ was no longer available.
Since then, I’ve taken several steps to secure my accounts and prevent this from happening again. This has been a wake-up call to me, and now I am more cautious around people online. I hope sharing it helps others avoid falling victim to similar attacks. (End)
(side note) Around this time, people also started to impersonate me on TikTok and YouTube. With my accounts terminated, anyone searching for "Joetastic" would only find the imposter's profiles. I’m unsure whether they are connected or if it’s just an unfortunate coincidence, but it made the situation even more stressful.
