God I can't wait to start writing the gender exploration fic for Sorry, It's Locked now that If It Ain't Broken is done, like, it's gonna be ridiculously fluffy by comparison lmao. Like, i mean, it's me so there's probably still gonna be angst, but it's just gonna be like "Oh no, I can't be trans, must deny everything!" kinda angst rather than... everything that IIAB turned into 💀

Anyway I can't wait and it'll give me so many excuses to draw Lark, and hopefully Jay in a skirt or something idk. I have like, vague nebulous ideas that I wanna draw but none of them are like, full concepts or anything yet

okay, so im going back to fandom basics with this. something something the staple of characters being put into a coffee shop au that retains the story theyre from with the addition of a really central location and atmospheric vibes. 

we all know how much i love alex kralie going through a hipster phase and also alex kralie being something of a workaholic. im putting that together to mean he absolutely frequents the coffee shop near campus, holing up in a corner booth and getting multiple of his usual for several hours late into the night. the tortured life of a film bro trying to write the screenplay that basically equals his final grade for the semester. 

tim is your classic insomniac. he’s up late every night, and is so used to the exhaustion that comes with it, that he figures might as well get some extra money to help with his prescription. tim gets the closing shift and starts frequently coming face to face with the annoying and entitled customer that always seems to think he knows better about how to make coffee than tim. (maybe he does a little bit though, this is tim’s first time being a barista) but on the bright side, he seems to not care enough about tim getting snappy or rude, because after several brief encounters and arguments across the coffee bar, tim still has a job, and alex still keeps coming back. 

i want to weave the operator into this somehow. im thinking currently that due to this constant interaction between the two of them, it sort of starts haunting around the coffee shop in particular. tim is exhausted and frustrated that his hallucination is following him to work, up until alex comes up and complains about that very same hallucination watching him work from the other side of the window. O_O
