I still haven't had the patience to clean up the very speckled and dotted X settei, so I did the next best thing for today. Instead, have 3 cleaned up Day of Sigma pieces, featuring X, Zero, Sigma and Vile. All in nice high quality.

Vile My piece for the @mechanicalheartzine ! I joined the zine late as the merchandise mod and co-shipping coordinator thanks to my convention background. It was quite the experience working on a zine for the first time-- and formatting other people's art and turning it into a reality was super rewarding!

Although I joined several months late, I had the opportunity to add a banner to the digital merch bundles, thus Vile <3!

Mega Man Maverick Hunter X for the PSP turns 17 today in North America!

"Wait! Are all of you guys literally robots!? Like, completely robots! That's so noble!!!"

"Well, some of us, like me, are humans, but most of the team are programs. Net Navis, to be exact."

"But some of us, like me, are EM beings. I'm an AMian, an alien made out of energy called EM waves. I can actually enter the real world and the digital world at will. The Net Navis, on the other hand, need outside help for that."

"Before I was saved by RiFT and reconstructed into a Net Navi, I was indeed a type of robot known as a reploid. We are basically robots who can think and feel like humans. Though, since Net Navis are programs who can do the same, the only thing different about me is that I'm made of data now."

"Though, with the special Copy Bots I invented, the Navis can enter the real world as robots. So in a sense, yes! They can be completely robotic beings when inside Copy Bots!"

"Really?! Can you put Numberman in one?!"

"Sure can! Just let him log in to this one here, and presto!"

"I NEVER FELT SO ALIVE!!"

"Hope that answers your question, Cody. I guess we Net Navis are like digital robots who can either enter into robotic bodies or like EM beings like Omega-Xis, can enter the real world as energy beings. We have incredible scientists like Welch and Mr. Tinker who make it possible for us."

XZero Week -- Sun & Moon

This one is smaller than I would like, but I originally hadn’t planned on doing it. I had my sights set on another prompt. Unfortunately, that fell through as time & inspiration for the piece just never came together. 

I found inspiration for this just before bed & wanted to at least bang out my idea. So here’s a late submission!

When X thought of Zero, he thought of the Sun. 

Many a time, he had heard the comparison for himself. The little blue reploid understood why, but he felt as though everyone sort of missed an opportunity in their comparisons. Yes, yes, he knew: Zero was rough around the edges. Despite his golden mane and bright colors, he was not quite what someone would think of when they thought sunshine. But that abrasive personality was exactly why X felt he was right with his own associations. 

Didn’t they know? The Sun was always high in the sky, offering warmth and light to life around them. X wasn’t sure where he would be without Zero, but he knew he dreaded the thought of a life without him. He was strong and fierce, a protector that would gladly stand the line and defend what he believed in. 

But just like the Sun, Zero scarcely let anyone close. X was privy to a side of the blonde reploid that no one else knew of: some secret side that others would argue didn’t exist. He felt special in that way, especially when he saw how others crumbled away in the wake of Zero’s light. A weak will would burn up if they dared venture too close to his passion, and X had seen it happen many times already. 

But Zero was the light of his life. He kept X going, even if the blonde never quite realized it himself. 

When Zero thought of X, he thought of the Moon. 

And no, not because of his blue armor. He had noticed some human associations with the Moon: darkness and mystery. If someone approached it from that angle, Zero would agree that it didn’t seem very much like X. But it was the details they missed that made the blonde reploid realize-- In a purely night sky? X was the moon, guiding him on through the darkness. He could doubt himself, doubt his fight, but he could never doubt his beloved. 

And like the Moon and her cycles, Zero knew X just the same. There was no mystery or question, only unwavering faith and love. He brought stability, even when the world seemed determined to entrench itself in chaos around them. Darkness crept in from every corner, threatening all that Zero fought so hard to protect. But X was always there to keep them going, to bring order once more. 

They balanced each other out. One refused to go one without the other. 

Where Zero was quick to slash and burn, X would always bring a softer approach. Both reploids knew they needed each other, in some unspoken understanding that continued to draw them toward each other. Even Sigma couldn’t break them apart, despite his many, many violent efforts to do so. 

Because as the Sun and Moon continue to rise and fall and rise again, X and Zero would do the same.
