My solution for bloatware is this: by law you should hire in every programming team someone who is Like, A Guy who has a crappy laptop with 4GB and an integrated graphics card, no scratch that, 2 GB of RAM, and a rural internet connection. And every time someone in your team proposes to add shit like NPCs with visible pores or ray tracing or all the bloatware that Windows, Adobe, etc. are doing now, they have to come back and try your project in the Guy's laptop and answer to him. He is allowed to insult you and humilliate you if it doesn't work in his laptop, and you should by law apologize and optimize it for him. If you try to put any kind of DRM or permanent internet connection, he is legally allowed to shoot you.

With about 5 or 10 years of that, we will fix the world.

Mane6 do not deserve anyone's sympathy. They're not some martyrs of the indie videogame scene who are completely faultless and were only wronged by a greedy publisher.

I don't understand how people can defend years of constantly delaying patches (and then releasing them unfinished anyway), not fixing critical bugs, being unable to decide what market they're even catering to, completely ignoring feedback, failing to deliver on almost every backer reward, complete radio silence until the 11th hour — and all of that before the acquisition. Not to mention Cam/Oreo/Aaron (the community/marketing team!!!) consistently harassing/bullying/ghosting (ymmv) community members at the slightest hints of negativity or criticism directed at either the game or them. This post goes out to Grunkle, Javamorris, K9, and Candel.

M6 are horrible, Modus/Maximum are horrible, both are at fault for what happened to the game (people will think I'm somehow defending the latter anyway).
