So I mentioned this on the discord, but I was looking up possible inspirations for the name SUMMUM as a name for a decorp group (apparently it was actually a backer suggestion that was also the name of a server for a while? Anyway,) and one of the first results I came across was this wikipedia page for a... religion? Cult? Tax evasion scheme? (admittedly those things have a fair bit of overlap) that was led by a guy who went by the name, and this is not a joke, "Summum Bonum Amon Ra".
I just absolutely lost it imagining some dude who's, like, really into decorp, but it's Okay Actually, Because I'm Actually RA. Like, some guy who either claims to be some manifestation of RA or will eventually join with RA, which is why he needs to - and is perfectly okay to - break the First Contact Accords. I doubt this is what the backer who came up with the name ever possibly intended, but it's pretty funny.

y'know. it really sucks to feel yourself back-sliding, mentally, when you know you've been doing pretty alright for a while
#i can feel it coming scoob. frankly i think it may already be here.#i am always so tired. frustrated. having really fun mood swings.#and my job is deeply taxing and deeply stressful. ao i never get any fucking reprieve.#and i literally don't have the energy to care for myself at home reliably.#so my whole fuckin day got ruined today bc my landlord visited with some people to measure the place.#and i spent hours cleaning. and he ended the call by trlling me my apartment was dirty.#so. i cried. bc i have no emotional resilience anymore on account of the constant stress#and then i cut someone off in traffic today despite trying really hard to Not do that#but despite checking my mirrors and blind spot 4 times i still managed it!#and they sped past me. so i screamed at them from the safety of my car with the windows rolled up.#and then immediately burst into uncontrollable tears that lasted the better part of 30 min#and nearly made me puke.#so now. i am hollowed-out and exhausted. just barely making it through.#and i can feel how close the absolute meltdown is. and i can't fuckin do anything about it bc i can't miss work! fuck!#it's been an exceptionally stressful two weeks and I've had it. but we keep trucking i guess.#idk im sad and frustrated and just going through it rn. and it sucks bc i remember being happy.#and i'm just not anymore.#i ramble#sorry this was long and rambly and unasked for i'm just having a really really bad day#and will be having them every day until at least august!

Things i think should be implemented for all adults immediately:
Adult sized Playgrounds. Both outside ones and indoor padded ones
Recess
Light up shoes
Getting a little gift at the doctor's. Especially invasive uncomfortable ones like downstairs ones and the dentist (and no the gift cannot be a toothbrush).
Further info on the gifts: Plushies, little toys, fidgets and stuff you can get at finance conventions are all applicable. These cannot be gendered if my gynecologist gives me a girl power lipgloss i will start murdering people i want a plushie. (not pink!). Badges for being very brave and doing an awesome job.
Getting a little gift after you submitted your taxes or when you did some official paperwork like a patch or maybe a sticker
Dinosaur bed sheets (adult sized!!!!)
Nonfiction books with textured patches in them and little flaps to reveal secret information. Because unfortunately i already know about farm animals.
No homework (this goes for kids too it's damaging)
Books about adventures that aren't about sex or depression or violence or tax evasion but also do not the feature 11 year old protagonists as middle schooler books understandably do.
Sand boxes with sand box toys and little mills you can power with sand and no i don't mean zen gardens they're awesome but not what i need
Informed consent gender affirming care and abortions and sterilisations
Museums where you can touch everything and press buttons to make things move (and no the ones that are specifically for kids get you stared at and you are expected to let the kids go first. I have the same rights a toddler has to stare at how the different sands move from button pressing position for 15 minutes and i need a space to do so)
Cool funfacts about animals and space in the newspaper

This year my dad found & gave me the Montblac my mom misplaced in 2016 that was supposed to be my deceased grandpa’s uni graduation gift; yesterday I got to draw for the first time in 3yrs without pain & inked a Diluc with the $500 pen
I ordered normal pens right after, it’s okay to laugh and cry
I know my old man is upstairs probably cackling because he used to doodle with his fountain pens. And also I’m relieved I can still draw & didn’t lose all my skills but the numbing in my shoulder has now evolved to soreness so I’ll try to draw once a week to build those muscles up again. Tldr my dominant arm is low key fighting the urge to slide outta my arm socket because in 2019 I fell and tore my trapezius muscle next to my spine with the hold the size of my hand. Tbh I only have a functioning right arm purely out of spite & self recovery since then & only until recently don’t suffer from the debilitating pain anymore but anyways.
The way I just 💀 upon realizing the ink refills are $20 & I bought 30 pens for the same price. And like y’all don’t understand, I re-inked the drawing 3 times to build up the depth between the Five & Below $5 color pencil layers. That’s like $4-$8 in total
Tumblr media
I knew it was expensive but I never looked into it until my dad saw what I was doing and busted out laughing because apparently he did the same mistake when he graduated law school.
My first drawing in 3 yrs accidentally turned my sketchbook into an physical asset because of the fucking pen and I gotta save up to buy the refills down the road because THE INK WAS SO NICE TO DRAW WITH *punches air* I HATE THAT IT WAS A GOOD EXPERIENCE OH FUCK ME

In 2022, Massachusetts residents voted in favor of a Fair Tax ballot measure to extra-super-duper-tax those earning more than one million dollars a year and to spend the revenue from that on education and transportation initiatives.
Naturally, there were the naysayers. Those who warned that all of the state’s rich people would move away to their very own Galt’s Gulch or whatever, if they were forced to pay a four percent tax on anything they make over a million dollars. The implication there, of course, is that raising this tax would, ironically, lead to the state collecting less revenue overall.
That didn’t happen! In fact, the state has already raised $1.8 billion in revenue so far for this fiscal year — which is $800 million more than they expected, and they still have a few months to go. The vast majority of the surplus will go to a fund that legislators can use for one-time investments in various projects.
The revenue has already been invested in universal school lunches, in more scholarships to public colleges, in improvements to the MBTA, and to repair roads and bridges. These are all things that will improve the quality of life for everyone, including the “ultra-rich” who happen to live there. The fact is, it’s just nice to live in a society that is more civil, that takes care of its people and its children and that fixes things when they are broken.
[ ]
Elizabeth Warren, Pramila Jayapal, and others have introduced bills in the House and Senate for a nationwide millionaire’s tax of two percent — two cents on the dollar for all wealth exceeding $50 million and six percent on all wealth over a billion dollars. This would bring in an estimated $3.75 trillion over 10 years, which we could use to improve the lives of all US citizens. We could have so many nice things!
It’s time to stop living in fear of what millionaires and billionaires — who have made their fortunes off of roads we’ve paid for and employees we’ve paid to educate — will do or where they will move if forced to pay their fair share. That’s no way to live. If they have some place better to go that won’t force them to contribute to improving their community? Let them. Other people will come along and be more than happy to pick up where they left off. But more than likely, they won’t do jack shit because they’re rich, and if they wanted to live someplace else, they’d be there by now.

Truly spectacular how capitalism reproduces the same actions time and time again. Whether it's Europe or Africa, subsistence farmers were forced off their lands to work in urban centers, women had to stay home with their children, and men worked for a pittance in the mines and plantations.
