Starting a new week with a craving for amber. Here are two very different takes on this enticing note: ------------------------------------------- Ambra Nobile by @nobile1942 is a fresh aromatic amber that feels airy and refined. This is the amber fragrance with the most development of the ones I own. It moves from sharp and citrusy to warm and powdery to creamy over time. @luckyscent asserts that Ambra Nobile will make you feel like royalty. It's easy to see why. There is a delicacy and elegance to this fragrance which makes it feel very elevated. For me, Ambra Nobile is less about luxury but more about headiness. It's an intellectual almost mystic fragrance. I imagine this is what an Aquarius smells like--or a magician. If Julia in The Magicians had a signature scent, this would be it. ------------------------------------------- Ottoman Amber by The Merchant of Venice is much more straightforward and sensual. This amber is redolent, spicy, plummy. It's like caressing the nap of velvet. Or the silken skin of an inner thigh. If Ambra Nobile is channeling Aquarius, Ottoman Amber is definitely an earth sign--dark, grounded and mysterious. While I adore both, the Capricorn in me feels much more affinity to Ottoman Amber.  ------------------------------------------- The best part is I don't have to choose.
