Donald Lynn Ehresman, 69, of Oxford, Michigan, first saw the face of his Savior on August 20, 2023. Because as a child he placed his faith in Jesus, Don is now worshiping today in the presence of Christ.

Don was born on February 8, 1954, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, one of ten children to Lester and Eileen (Vice) Ehresman. After graduating from Bob Jones University in 1977, he became a CPA, providing accounting services to countless clients, friends, and family around the country.

Don was married on August 20,1977, to Kathleen Sellers, who was the love of his life. She preceded him in death on April 15, 2004. For 26 years, they made a great team—caring for animals, serving in various church ministries, and opening their home in warm hospitality.

Don loved baseball and football—especially college games—and was known for his quick wit and kind nature. He will be deeply missed by many.

He's survived by brothers Dennis and Jack (Diane) Ehresman.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11am at the First Baptist Church of Lake Orion. The family will welcome friends for visitation on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, from 3-7 at Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Lake Orion. Interment North Oxford Cemetery.

i never understood terms such as ‘cuffing season’ ‘wedding season’ ‘breakup season’ because those happen every day, all year round. i understand normal seasons, and holidays and romantic holidays such as valentine’s day, national girlfriend day, national boyfriend day and other holidays as such, but i never understood ‘seasons’ based on romance and breakups.

in college and school breakup season was mostly in the summer when people went home for the couple months off, but outside of it, people break up every day. and i see it happen every day. wether they break up due to falling out of love, an abusive partner, cheating, someone’s moving away or just because, it happens all the time. same with people getting into relationships. i see it happen so often, it’s even happened to me. it happened to me about four months ago. on may 15th 2023 i got into a relationship with university of michigan alumni and new jersey devils defenceman luke hughes. we got together but that didn’t make it ‘cuffing season’ it just means we got together on a random monday in may.

‘hey, y/n, everything okay?’ luke said spinning his char to face his bed where ive bees sitting and staring at the wall.

‘hmm? yeah. just thinking of people breaking up.’ i said. ‘last week of school i was comforting like 6 different girls because they or their boyfriends were going home from college and wanted to break up so they won’t be ~trapped~ when they’re split apart.’

‘oh.’ he said putting his thumb between his teeth for a second. ‘is there any reason your thinking of break ups specifically?’

‘no. it’s just like, school is starting for everyone soon so that means either a lot of jealous exes or borderline toxic couples are gonna get together, and i was just thinking about how glad i am that we were nothing like that.’ i said and he smiled.

‘babe, when you’re with me, that’s the last thing you need to worry about. i can promise you that what we have, you and i, we’re stronger together than all those couples you’re thinking of. hell, we’ve been talking about engagement recently. i don’t think those people think about anything other than if they’re gonna fuck the upcoming friday. we’re so much stronger and happier than all of them, and we don’t have to wait till some random party to fuck. we only have to wait for jack to leave the apartment for a few hours.’ i laughed at him before getting up and standing infront of him.

‘thanks luke. i love you a lot. when i’m overthinking you overthink with me, but in more of a solving way than a insane way like i do. you’re my stability and if it wasn’t for you i doubt we’d be as strong as we are.’ i said.

Along the lines of two billboards placed earlier in the month on I-275 highway—west of Dearborn, Mich.—by the local branch of the Zionist Organization of America, a new sign was placed on US-23 near Ann Arbor on April 22, calling for the University of Michigan to “Stop Jew Hatred on Campus.”

It comes in the wake of threats, harassment, intimidation and discrimination against Jewish students at the public institution.

“The university has failed to respond to concerned students, parents and alumni who have contacted U of M, urging that it take action to stop violations of their own code of conduct and infractions of the law. We put up the billboard in hopes of getting their attention,” said Sheldon Freilich, president of ZOA-Michigan. “It’s time for enforcement—there must be serious consequences for those breaking the law and inciting antisemitism.”

Following the Hamas terrorist attacks in Israel on Oct. 7, ZOA-Michigan said it has received numerous complaints from U of M students who fear for their safety. The situation has been exacerbated, it added, by pro-Hamas demonstrations on campus and in campus buildings calling for the end of Israel and the genocide of Jews, often punctuated by Nazi symbols and slogans.

In the weeks leading up to finals and graduation, antisemitic hostilities have reached a dangerous pitch.

Senior Salma Hamamy, a 22-year-old Palestinian American and the president of Students Allied for Freedom and Equality (SAFE), stated on her Instagram page on March 22: “Until my last breath, I will utter death to every single individual who supports the Zionist state. Death and more. Death and worse.”

She was arrested in November at an anti-Israel sit-in at the office of the university’s president, Santo Ono, and in February was part of a stand-off with riot police near Detroit at a campaign event for U.S. President Joe Biden. This week, she was one part of the pro-Palestinian and pro-Hamas activists that set up a tent encampment on school grounds.

In January, the University of Michigan honored Hamamy and SAFE with the 2024 Spirit of MLK Jr. Award for “exemplifying Dr. King’s leadership and extraordinary vision.”

In the last two months alone, two federal civil-rights complaints have been filed against U of M for failing to safeguard Jewish students.

He's the middle child, he's a cheeky shit. He didn't go to Michigan or Ohio State so he's thinking there's technically no ties for him - even if his family are huge Michigan people and that makes him one too. But he's not a student or alumni. It's all fine, he's just a dude who happens to be from Michigan. Plus, he thinks it's exciting sneaking around all the time, keeps him on his toes, gets his adrenaline rushing and he can't help himself when you're breath-taking.

You two were only supposed to meet for drinks but when you wake up with his body curled around yours, his breathing fanning your neck, your heart hammering and eyes snapping open, you've never felt fear like that in your life.

Now, you're throwing him his clothes and he's hopping around to re-dress himself, pulling on your own clothes as footsteps approach your room. Thank God you live in a house with your own room, the only issue was sneaking Jack out without your friends knowing he was even there to begin with.

Your friend knocks on your door, calling your name and asking if you're joining them for breakfast since they baked pancakes. Jack's grinning, doing his belt up as quietly as he can but doesn't miss the opportunity to sweep you into his chest, leaving kisses over your neck as you try to wiggle from his hold.

"Y-yeah! Gimme like, five minutes!" You reply, eventually able to nudge him off and shove his shirt into his chest.

"Are you okay in there?"

You wince at Jack dropping his shoe, the thud making you both freeze like deer in headlights, shooting him an evil look in which he just keeps his shit-eating grin, "Just changing, sorry I just woke up!"

She leaves and you whip around to your, oh so helpful (secret) boyfriend. He's too happy about this, too excited with the possibility of getting caught red-handed but at least he's fully dressed now, from hat to shoes this time. He left that Yankees hat last time he'd snuck his way into your room, and it lingered in the back of your wardrobe like a parasite until you saw him again.

"Kiss before I go?" He says lowly, voice still raspy from abruptly waking up earlier.

You can't help but smile and shake your head, hands looping around his neck as he pulls you in by your hips, thumbs rubbing your hipbone. Nothing too extreme, just a warm, sweet kiss that perhaps lasted a bit longer that you two had anticipated, but it didn't stop him from biting your bottom lip.

Pulling away, you pat his chest and he gets the memo, unlocking your window and swinging a leg through. The drop from the side-porch roof wasn't too far, you'd just have to strike up enough conversation to buy him time to run.

This was the second time you've somehow snuck Jack in and out successfully. Turns out, asking your friends about how their night went riled up enough of a reaction that their groaning and complaining over each other drowned out the sound of Jack darting past the living room window and as he did before, he gave you a wink before disappearing down the street.

The chandelier that hung on the ceiling shined slightly and with the candlelight, it was just enough to see the face of the person across the table. This explained the reason Harry and Y/N squinted and leaned forward when William called out to Michael.

“Where have you been?” William asked again. Everything was silent for a second except for the crackling of the candles.

“I- I” he stuttered, suddenly too nervous to share the reason for his absence.

“What the hell is going on?” Harry asked, just as confused as everyone at the table. Suddenly Michael pulled a woman forward by the hand. All three men were speechless as they stared at the young woman, who was around their age.

Y/N looked around the table and noticed their shocked expressions. It seemed like everyone had figured out what Michael had been doing all day, except her.

“Hi, I am Y/N!” She waved, noticing that no one else was going to talk.

“I’m Violet” She shyly said, and that’s when everything clicked for Y/N. She was Michael’s long-time lover. She was the one who got away. Violet was the reason behind every heavy sigh and every longing of Michael.

“Come sit!” Y/N encouraged her and pointed to the vacant seats at the table. “Close your mouth” She whispered to Harry, who was being unbelievably rude by just staring at her. “I am serious, Harry” She pinched his leg under the table which did the trick and snapped him out of surprise.

“Where were you?” Harry asked him as he reached out for his cup after the couple had settled down.

“I went to the airport and picked her up” Michael shrugged like it was no big deal.

“You went to the airport, and it took you all day?” William frowned, “That makes no sense.”

“We had a lot of catching up to do” Michael looked over at Violet, and they instantly blushed which made Y/N’s heart flutter. It was nice seeing him infatuated with someone.

“I think we need more context” Alessandro handed them two cups and served them wine.

So, Michael went on to explain how things had developed in the course of less than a week. He had reached out to Violet on the night that they had gone out to dinner in Rome. After much insisting from Y/N, he decided to look her up on social media, and he came across a private profile, and after he sent a follow request, and she never accepted it, he went another way.

“I looked up where she studied and tracked down her information. Turns out that Violet graduated from Michigan State, and I remember that I had recently met someone from admissions. So, I contacted them and asked them if I could get further information about alumni of them. Turns out they could give me her email.”

“That is kind of stalkerish.”

“What the fuck Michael?” William laughed and held his abdomen. “So creepy” he added as they all laughed at the extent that Michael had gotten to just find her.

Michael began speaking to her regularly before she knew it Michael was getting the jet ready to fetch her. In the morning, he had left early from the house to have enough time to pick up flowers for her and a coffee. He waited for her, and then he took her to his favorite places in Lake Como.

“I find it romantic. You didn’t give up on finding her” Y/N shrugged, “not all men go beyond for someone. That means he is worth keeping.”

“Finally, the support that I wanted. Thank you” Michael had been nervous to reveal to them that he had taken the plunge. He knew that either way they would bother him until his death, but he was tired of feeling alone which was why he had decided to reach out to her. He was tired of waiting for something magnificent to happen when he already had everything he wanted under his nose. “Pricks”.

“We are happy for you” Alessandro reassured him, “We are just surprised”.

“You are not one to take spontaneous decisions” William pointed out, “But I am happy to you took a chance.”

“I am just happy that there is another girl around” Y/N smiled at Violet.

“In this case, welcome to the trip Violet. We hope you have fun” Harry raised his glass for everyone to toast with him.

Turns out that Violet was a painter. After getting her bachelor's in college in Michigan and starting to work she realized that an office job wasn’t for her. Violet had wasted four years of her life studying something that never made her happy. So, she looked for a scholarship after her parents disowned her and moved to London. In London, she learned how to paint and became successful after opening a tiny art exhibition. All the work was bought in two days.

Therefore, Violet became remarkably successful, and shortly after her parents were reaching out to her. They had heard of her success and wanted to congratulate her and invest in her talent. The only condition was to marry, and so she got engaged to her father’s business partner. A man that was as cold as the ice in the northern sea. That's when she met Michael.

“So, did you dump this man?” Y/N asked her after Harry had gone to the bathroom, Alessandro for more wine, and Michael and William for a smoke.

“Not yet. He thinks I’m on a business trip. He honestly doesn’t care. I am sure he has someone else too” Violet shrugged, “I just hope things are different this time around with Michael” she sheepishly said, “I really like him”.

“Why don’t you just leave the other man?” Y/N could tell that they were going to be close friends. Violet seemed down to earth, and she liked that.

“Because if I am serious about continuing to be an artist, I need funding and my parents want me to marry someone capable to run the business. Just so they can retire, and Michael fears commitment.” She frowned, “I want to open my own art gallery in London and New York. It’s my dream, but I require their money”.

“I understand” Y/N nodded, “Perhaps this time around things will be different with Michael?”

“I’m hopeful” she smiled weakly, “but I doubt so.”

“What are you girls talking about?” Harry interrupted them as he walked into the room. “Chiara and Ricardo retired for the evening”.

“About what we are doing tomorrow” Y/N interjected and winked at Violet, wanting to reassure her that their conversation was private and that she wasn’t going to share the details with Harry.

“Yeah? What?”

“Visit some museums and art galleries” Violet smiled, “Right?”

The idea didn’t seem bad. Suddenly Y/N was looking forward to the next day. Going to art galleries and museums with someone like Violet could be very enriching because she knew about the subject more than most people.

“Yes” Y/N smiled just as the other men were coming back.

Alessandro started playing music after realizing that his parents had felt, and more wine had been served as the night continued. It wasn’t long until all six were drunk and needed help getting upstairs to sleep.

“Goodnight!” William yelled as they all basically crawled up the stairs.

“SHUSH!” Michael yelled back as he opened the door of his bedroom. “You are going to wake up the whole house!”

Everyone laughed and giggled as they retired to their respective bedrooms.

“I am so drunk” Y/N commented and laughed as she tried taking off her sandals, sitting at the end of the bed. Harry turned to look at her with a cheeky smile and pulled her to his lips.

“You have no idea how much I want you right now” he muttered against the soft skin.

Between giggles and laughs, they devoured one another, and it was sloppy, funny, but passionate...

Students and alumni of Adrian College, a private liberal arts school near Ann Arbor, Michigan, are outraged that anti-trans activist Riley Gaines will be delivering the school’s commencement address this weekend. They say the decision to invite Gaines runs counter to the school’s mission statement of being “committed to the pursuit of truth and dignity of all people” and could endanger both the campus’s LGBTQ+ students and Gaines herself.

“Elevating this divisive and extremist symbol of hate with the largest megaphone and to the highest platform of an academic institution’s school year, their college graduation, as an alum, this is an embarrassing and hurtful decision. As a donor to the college, this is a bad investment decision,” R. Cole Bouck, creator of the Adrian College’s LGBT and Ally Pride scholarship told Michigan Advance earlier this week. Gaines has been crusading against the rights of trans athletes since 2022, when she tied for fifth place with trans University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas in the women’s 200m freestyle final at the National Collegiate Athletics Association swimming and diving championships. Her argument that trans women uniformly possess unfair physical advantages over cisgender women has evolved over the past two years to include broader anti-trans claims, including that trans women pose a threat to cis women’s safety. She has become a darling of conservative media, which has allowed her to spew hateful misinformation.

“This is an important issue that should be discussed at colleges and universities throughout the United States,” Adrian College President Jeffrey Docking said in the school’s March 11 announcement that Gaines would address graduates at the spring commencement ceremony on May 5. “Adrian College has never shied away from presenting and debating substantive disagreements on campus. In fact, this is precisely the purpose of universities — to engage in civil discourse of controversial issues. We welcome Riley Gaines to our beautiful campus, and we feel confident our students will be inspired by her commencement address.” Notably, that announcement also misgendered Thomas and falsely called her “the first man who transitioned to win an NCAA Division I national championship.” The idea that people become transgender for the express purpose of winning at sports is a transphobic myth.

This is a terrible move, as a lot of students and alumni at that school are pissed off.

The effort of Democrats to use Project 2025 as a millstone to sink Trump's presidential ambitions has Republicans running for the hills. On Wednesday, Trump's longtime evil minion Stephen Miller appeared on Ari Melber’s show on MSNBC to unequivocally deny any connection between Trump and Project 2025. (Miller was Trump's speechwriter who drafted Trump's “American Carnage” inaugural address in 2017.)

Miller claimed that Trump “is his own man” and “he alone decides what policies he will follow.” Miller explained that the near-perfect overlap between Project 2025’s policy goals and Trump's campaign promises is pure coincidence.

Ha! Good one! Who says MAGA extremists don’t have a sense of humor? For Trump to “set his own policies,” the following improbable conditions would need to exist simultaneously: (a) Trump would have to understand the differences in competing policies; (b) he would have to care about policies that did not affect his personal power and wealth; and (c) he would have to do the work of promoting and implementing those policies. Yeah, right! That didn’t happen in Trump's first term, and he has told us that the only policies of his hoped-for second term will be vengeance and retribution.

Ari Melber was having none of Stephen Miller’s disinformation. But Miller was running from Project 2025 as fast as he could. For good reason. Focus group testing has shown that when Republican and Independent voters hear about the substance of Project 2025, they oppose it overwhelmingly.

Republicans know this and are trying to repair the damage of having published their plot to end democracy. See Navigator Research, Focus Group Report: Project 2025. (“After participants viewed clips of the Wall Street Journal video detailing Project 2025, disdain for the plan grew.”)

The problem (for Republicans) is that Democrats have done a great job of identifying Trump as the prime beneficiary of Project 2025. Indeed, on its website, Project 2025 is described as a “Presidential Transition Project.” Since the project was drafted by Trump administration alumni, the “presidential transition” was for Trump, not Biden (now Harris).

Republicans are in full panic mode. JD Vance wrote the forward to a book by Project 2025’s author Eric Roberts, “Dawn’s Early Light,” which summarizes Project 2025. The book was scheduled to be published this month (August 2024) but has now been mysteriously delayed until after the election. Unfortunately for JD Vance and Trump, Media Matters has obtained a galley copy of Eric Roberts’ book and is willing to share!

But it gets worse (for Trump). In 2022, Trump shared a private jet ride with Kevin Roberts on the way to a Heritage Foundation conference. (Heritage Foundation is the sponsor and funder of Project 2025). At the Heritage Foundation conference,

Trump delivered a keynote address that gestured to Heritage’s forthcoming policy proposals. “They’re going to lay the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do.” Separately, Roberts told The Washington Post in an interview in April of this year that he had previously discussed Project 2025 with Trump as part of offering briefings to all presidential candidates. “I personally have talked to President Trump about Project 2025,”

Given that Kevin Roberts said he briefed Trump on Project 2025 and Trump told Heritage that the project “lay[s] the groundwork and detail plans for exactly what our movement will do,” Trump's claim last month that “Have no idea who is in charge of it” is a blatant lie. Although Trump claims that he and Kevin Roberts did not discuss the project on the flight, Trump's comments at the Heritage Foundation conference make clear that Trump knows exactly what Project 2025 is.

The Trump campaign’s release of Project 2025 was an act of hubris and overconfidence it now regrets, just like its effort to drive Joe Biden out of the race.

Here's the point: Trump has been caught with his hand in Project 2025 cookie jar and we must continue to tie Trump and Vance to the project and make clear that they are lying about their lack of involvement in the project.

On the campaign trail with Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

Kamala Harris and Tim Walz have managed to continue the momentum and enthusiasm of the Harris campaign. Trump was missing in action from the campaign trail, while JD Vance stalked Harris and Walz, drawing paltry crowds while showing flashes of anger and arrogance. JD Vance is turning out the be an “anti-candidate” who is a drag on the ticket.

At a rally in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Harris and Walz drew a crowd of 10,000, while a rally in Detroit drew 15,000. Per reports, the interest in the rallies far exceeded the capacity of the venues. A video of the event shared to X by Michigan political reporter Maggie George suggests that the small number of people attending the Vance speech in support of the candidate was rivaled by the press covering the event.

The small crowd is an indication of the lack of coordination and ground game by the Trump campaign—a lack of focus that starts at the top with Trump. Per reports, Trump is spending more time blaming advisers and complaining about his campaign’s problems than campaigning. JD Vance did Trump no favors on Wednesday when he gave a sour response to a reporter’s question about Vance being “joyless” and angry:

Reporter: You have been criticized as being a little too serious, a little angry sometimes. What makes you smile? What makes you happy? JD Vance: Well, I smile at a lot of things, including bogus questions from the media, Dan. A-HAHA-Heh-heh. .  . .But, look, sometimes you got to take the good with the bad. And right now, I am angry about what Kamala Harris has done to this country and done to the American southern border.

But the race remains tight (tied?) despite positive signs in almost every new poll that suggest a strong trend in favor of Harris and Walz.
