Gremlin Heist

So here we have three little Gremlins Oger's who were feeling hungry for something sweet and came up with a foolish smart plan. A plan that might not have worked out as well as they thought.

This is a piece I have been working on for a while and one of those things where I have tried to do something I don't normally. In this case, have a lot of characters on a page, more dynamic poses and building the environment for them to be in. And damn, you folk who do stuff like this all the time? You're even more amazing then I thought 'cos it is hard. Getting the scale right, making folk look natural. Even just making trees and bushes look good.

I'll be honest too. It took so long because I kept doubting things and changing stuff. You can kind make out a lot of pencil rubbing out. The trials of working with paper show and it makes me a touch jealous of the 'layer' system digital art has.

But I do love the finished piece, even with a few mistakes in it. It is a cute scene and all three characters are just the most adorable to draw.

You can hear some cheerful singing, backed up by surprisingly on tune buzzing. A peak around reveals a Mimikyu, disguised as what appears to be an Ogerpon(?). They are swinging their stick about while they sing and a tiny Regieleki follows behind, bouncing and buzzing to the rhythm. They both seem in a good mood.

Mimipon@Mew: "Wow! What a strange place you live in. It all metal and stuff. Like high tech." She pauses to think, "CYBERPUNK!" Mimipon glances around, noticeably scared to touch anything, "How did you get this home then?"

I used to live in a quiet, secluded jungle.

One day, a group of human researchers came through. They were a good natured group of people- they were looking for cures to diseases of both humankind and Pokemon.

I would study them from afar. I was very curious about their work, but one day I got too close and was captured.

They were good to me, but their team was eventually taken over by Team Rocket. The original scientists always intended to release me, but…

Team Rocket had other plans. That’s why I’m still here.

Mimipon (@ask-mimipon) @ Solaris: Mimipon approaches, covering her eyes with her claws. " Em...mister Sun...sir?" They stutter, "Is it really ok for you to be talking with folk? I was told not to look at the sun because it hurts." They peak a tiny bit from behind their claws, "What are you doing here then?"

Solaris just couldn’t handle the cuteness of this smaller mon. He got down to Mimipon’s height, a small smile on his face.

“As for what I’m doing here…” Solaris took a moment to gather his thoughts before speaking again, “I enjoy being around mortals, and being in the realm of gods and other deities gets boring after a while.”

Mimipon@Poni: "Wow, I have never seen another Ogerpon before!" They run around Poni excited. "THIS. IS. SO. COOL. We can totally be friends!"

Hehe! A mini'er me! Of course, we can be friends!

Poni smiles, chuckling at Minipon. Meanwhile, Shinji watches closely with a smile of his own

"I guess ogerpons come in all shapes and sizes, huh? I'm glad she's finally making friends and with her own species." So, where are your masks? You do have them, right? Poni asks the smaller mon

(@pokege-ne-project ; Wesn) Hm... This Whimsicott doesn't seem very happy... Maybe he can help! He eventually arrives with a old blanket. It's obvious it was collecting dust for months, but a blanket's.. Hopefully helpful? "Hi hi!! Sorry if I'm intruding, but maybe this'll help you feel better!"

Layrian heavily cries. He was very grateful for the hospitality from the strangers that come to his office. He calms down afterwards. He starts to drink water and eat some of a candy.

Oh my god, thank you, thank you, my new dudes! Without you I would be a BIG trouble...

Honestly, YOU SHOULDN'T harass my boss. He's STILL my friend even if we have some bad blood quite recently. Also, he's Rimi's daddy... I love Rimi and her band...

Layrian feel a lot better after comfort from his new friends. It seems he is ready to tell everything.

The three leave an impression on Layrian already and therefore they've added to Rotie DL.

Mimipon (@ask-mimipon) @Human: "Ah, you hair is so pretty!" They stare up at them with eyes full of wonder, a claw tentatively reach out to touch it. "How do you keep it looking such a pretty colour?"

In my younger days I had a deep red color, if you could imagine.

I suppose I got lucky and aged gracefully, hahah!

Mega Evolution is something that few kinds pokemon have the ability do, and even less are capable of performing it." Tsubayuki looked off into the horizon as she continued. "For me, it does not hurt. In fact, it feels a bit... I suppose, 'liberating' is a word I would use to describe it?" She explained before a slight grimace appeared on her face. "Fear however, is the problem I have with undergoing mega evolution. But I should stress..."

-There seems to be more to the story behind this. Perhaps you should ask why Tsubayuki would be afraid of herself mega evolving.-

Mimipon@Pikavee: Somehow Mimipon ended up on Pikavee's head, where they kinda just sat down. "I heard you are lost." The little kyu spoke up. "When I'm lost, it helps to ask others for a hand." They beamed a happy smile, "There is so many good folk around; far more than bad ones." They patted Pikavee on the head. Trying to reassure them. "So maybe these folk might be able to help you eh?"

She was somewhat startled upon hearing her voice as is; but feeling Mimipon on her head and realizing why she couldn’t immediately spot her made her freeze.

Such a tiny Pokemon on her body, where she couldn’t see her… a multitude of anxious, morbid thoughts filled her head as she tried to stay still. Notably, even though being petted felt really nice, she was lightly quivering a bit.

Pikavee: “Th-that’s what I hoped, at first. Now, I’m not so sure. It sounds like everyone here has enough things to worry about.”

Pikavee: “But to be honest, at least with the villagers… I think they need help more than I do. The disasters Lief talked about seem really awful for them. It doesn’t feel right to just do nothing, knowing about that.”

Pikavee: “Well… it’s the right thing to do, and maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to earn their trust first–?”

Lief: “Nope. Nuh uh. Remember what I said.”

Anonymous asked: So... What is the "evil" in that nice little town that you know of that we fail to observe, huh, butterfly boy?

Lief: “Which part? The whole thing about how ferals are treated, or the certain someone I mentioned that’s in charge of the place?”

Lief: “I mean surely I don’t need to justify myself to you on the former, right? As for the latter, trust me when I say that we definitely do not want the attention of the latter.”

Given the nature of these encounters–aside from it being out in the open to begin with, he’s assumed at least one witness to be present during his earlier talk with Pikavee, wherein he mentioned the prejudice in question.

Mimipon@AllThreeBirds: "OMG YOU ALL LOOK SO PRETTY!!" The Kyu bounced around the room, looking up at each of them with eyes full of wonder. "You must all be like superstars or something! I bet you famous and cool and rich and awesome and..." The kyu continues to list various things as the refuse to sit still. "So.so.so. What is your job?"

"I am a super star WELL MORE of a super model but I did think about maybe taking some acting classes to pursue my career - oh then I can be even more famous than now ah ~ " The articuno almost gloated happily before looking back to the small whisp "My feather's get groomed almost every week too look this shiny and crisp and in human form my hair gets done for every shoot, i do special skin care routines and-" she quickly snapped out of it

"Oh sorry for going off about myself - why were you here? Would you like me to sign something? Like a magazine or something? Of course you do!"

"Its a wisp...it cant even hold a spoon..." the zapdos murmured almost under his breath before the purple bird kept going

"But yes! I am a model pretty famous one too!" She happily motioned to herself before pausing almost forgetting

"And the other..two erm..." she awkwardly on spot tried to think of something before the two answered for her loud and clear

"We are in buisness..."

Aya's fathers please calm yourselfs. Aya is at the beach as we speak. She is making sand castles.

"Oh GENEROUS ONE- IS SHE EVEN ON THE ISLAND?!? HOW FAR DID SHE GO?!? IS SHE HURT?!? DID ANY OF THOSE VILLAGERS FIND HER!?!"

"But she's too young for that!!"

"WHO ARE THEY?!? IF THEY EVEN THINK OF SEEING HER AGAIN I'LL PUT THEIR HEAD ON A SPIKE!!!"

"mY BABYYYYY....." sobbing noises could be heard.

(@ask-the-shiny-pokemons) Rimi approaches an odd Ogerpon. She makes a smile while hearing this song.

"Hihi! It'a sunny day, isn't it? Also, a Mimikyu? I love Mimikyu! I'm Rimi, what about you?"

Mimipon jumps a little at the sudden stranger, slightly spooked out of her little song. But it soon turns to joy as they see such a friendly face. Her eyes light up at the question and she turns to Bibi and whispers, "Just like we practised ok?"

They hop onto a near by rock.

"Who am I?" She hums,

"Why only the smartest. 🎵

The bestest. 🎶

The coolest Kyu around." 🎵

Her and Bibi do a little spin and strike a pose,

"I am..."

There is a moments silence and Mimipon peaks to see Rimi's reaction:

Before beaming with joy. She hops off the rock and practically runs in circles around Rimi.

"Rimi right? You're really cool yourself. You look like a pop star or a BissyBoss. Are you rich? Famous?" She stops, "Are you...a secret spy?????"

[Mimipon is impressed by Rimi. She is interested in knowing more]

After a unplanned absence I thought I would create a Pinned Post for this Blog. Just to be able to direct you kind people who are willing to look at my stuff.

@vall-kyu-artbook is my Art blog. There is not a lot there as of making this post, 'cos it use to just get posted on the main blog. But it will be where art goes moving forward.

@theforgottenmimikyu was my ask blog. It is dead now and will not be getting updated. But I still leave it there for the work that I had done. Plus the Characters will be used else where.

@ask-mimipon is a new, casual style, askblog I have started. So I can interact with the amazing folk in the community a bit easier.

Jokes aside, you know how I feel about your work. You are one of the best designers out there with each and every one a real star. You got a good eye for bringing out the most in some of your combos and I adore it.

And of course you came up with Mimipon's design. The one that brought me back into doing an actual ask blog 💜

Your characters are always well expressed in your art. From young'uns to old'uns, you do such a good job. I adore all your characters from your blogs in one way or another. Some I love to hate, some I am intrigued by, some I just love to see. All good things.
