To the Minamotos and Kou enjoyers, do you sometimes think about the fact that Kou and Teru took on the roles of “Mother figure” and “Father figure” respectively of the household?

Do you sometimes think if Teru were to die, the family would lose their oldest son, their protector and the “father figure” of the household, but they would still have their actual father, an absent one, but one that still exist?

Do you sometimes think about the fact, that if Kou were to die, they would lose ALL the “motherly figures” that they have left in their household?

Do you sometimes think about the fact that the only “motherly figure” Tiara knows is Kou?

When she is asked who is the one in her house that does all the “motherly stuff”?

The one that cooks.

The one that cleans.

That make sure everyone is doing well, eating well, well rested and takes care of them while they’re sick.

The one that makes sure everyone gets up in the morning and gets ready to go to school. She thinks of Kou.

Do you sometimes think about the fact that Tiara didn’t met her mother?

Do you sometimes think about the fact that when Tiara is asked about who is the one that does all the “mom stuff” around her house, she thinks of Kou?

Do you sometimes think about the fact that probably when Tiara is older, and thinks about her mother, the only one that comes to mind unconsciously is Kou?

Do you sometimes think that maybe, JUST MAYBE, sometimes when Teru thinks or remembers his mom, he unconsciously thinks of Kou too? (Maybe similar to Sokka from Avatar)

Damn it’ll would be crazy to think that isn’t it? 🥲🫠 to think that they would lose their “Mother figure” AGAIN. Crazy, right?

I realized something about Teru's crashout

From a young age, Teru has always known he didn't fit in among his peers. Because he didn't have a normal childhood he was unable to connect with other kids his age, and because of it he's unable to connect with other people his age now. He knows that, he IS WEIRD, he is sadistic and lacks empathy, but he still did his exorcist job for his siblings. Not out of a noble reason to protect others but because Kou thought it was cool, that HE was cool. So it doesn't matter if it robs him of his childhood, it doesn't matter if he doesn't have any friends, it doesn't matter if other people think he's weird or if he himself thinks he's weird because kou thinks he's cool

So it must've hit especially hard for Teru that Kou called him weird

it's a build up of resentment taken out on a person who is not at fault I don't think Teru resents exorcism, he said himself he enjoys it, but he does resent the fact that he was robbed out of his childhood Teru knows what he had sacrificed to become a great exorcist, his childhood, and I mean everything that comes with it. Kindness, empathy, respect, tolerance, care for others is not innate to humans, you develop them during childhood and they adults around him either didn't help him develop those or he had to eventually become numb to those emotions to be able to do his job properly. That's why he's weird, that's why he will always be weird, that's why he never let Kou join in any exorcist mission because he didn't want him to turn out weird like he is

For Kou to say that its his fault that he doesn't understand the exorcist world, to throw his sacrifice, and the opportunity he gave Kou to be normal, something that he has always wanted, at his face must've crashed him tf out lol (i would crash out too)

(I'm not going to talk about how Teru's first response to conflict is violence, that's for another day)

I like their chat in chapter 97 a lot more now Teru is now able to tell Kou about what the life of an exorcist is truly like, of course Kou still doesn't really understand it but it is something that comes with experience
