So I am deciding 2 post stuff and not just reposting other post 2 share.

Decided I wanted to share a weird generation of the Woodland Mansion in my world of Minecraft PS3. About 3 biomes collided and this is so weird, I miss when Minecraft was this crazy with world gen. I’ve been playing these older versions 2, well 1 be nostalgic, and 2, because it’s my preferred way 2 play it since I like older versions! And I don’t have a gaming pc yet, lol. ^^’

Reading the reactions to the Minecraft movie trailer has caused me to start thinking, so I'm gonna lay some points down that have been brewing in my mind.

1. Minecraft Story Mode is not that good

You guys are acting like prequel fans. Stop before you morph into r/Prequelmemes

2. This has Marvel Director Syndrome attached to it

The director of this movie is Jared Hess, who's well known for Napoleon Dynamite (2004) and Nacho Libre (2006). This probably explains Jack Black being in this (he starred in Nacho Libre and was going to be in Napoleon Dynamite as Rex). My theory on why is probably an attempt to pull the millennial market in by saying, "Look! It's the director of your favorite goofy indie move!" Think Eternals (2021), which had Chloé Zhao direct after already making Nomandland (2020), which won Best Picture for the 2020 awards, in what I assume is an attempt to bring in a more serious crowd.

3. The End Poem is neat, but really doesn't fit modern Minecraft anymore

Yeah, it's cool and goes hard, but it just... really doesn't fit the game anymore? It's hard to explain, but the End doesn't really feel like a goal anymore, unlike the older versions, where that was the big thing being built up. Now you have 50 thousand different things to do that make you think, "Why bother?" once it comes to the End. So the poem isn't really a thing to think about anymore.

4. This is literally just one of those unlicensed novels from the 2010's

You know what I'm talking about, so, um, congrats for sticking to A source material, I guess.

5. Of fucking course it's not gonna be what you want, that isn't profitable :(

There was no way in hell this would be the "deep, reflective experience" you guys keep clamoring for. That shit only really happens with indies, and Minecraft is WAY TOO PROFITABLE as a franchise to even be considered for one. That leaves us with an attempt that was always gonna be existing to solely capitalize on the 8-12 year old demographic at best or complete slop at worst.

6. Probably won't be as bad as you guys are saying, tbh

Yeah, it doesn't look good, but it's just gonna be another Jumanji-type movie, and I have a high tolerance for that kind of stuff. Probably gonna be a 4-5/10 at best. Not gonna watch it (I don't go to the theater much unless it's an event or my dad decides to go, and he isn't that big of a Minecraft fan), but what can ya do :|

IN CONCLUSION

Tumblr discovers regular blockbuster movies based on popular property and is enraged at it.

Day one of the ps3 minecraft splitscreen world.

- we have established our home base, it is on a mountain and sort of a pain to get too.

- we have established a farm on a nearby island. There is now a hut on the farm for us to use as an emergency base

- all in all, material collection is going well and we are beginnning to put in place the infrastructure for a new railway

- we have founded a drowned sanctuary, occasionally it also houses fish (note. The drowned really like seeds for enrichment

Animals in holes:

- Edgar the cow (he stands guard on the mountain base)

- Napoleon the pig (he sucks, but lives on the farm

Deaths:

- Garry, Larry and Fish, (drowned, Drowned and fish) the first members of the drowned sanctuary - victims of despawing

- Darry (Baby drowned), accidentally killed during the process of relocation to the sanctuary - preventable sun burn, my fault

- Hubert (chicken), pushed into wall by @parad0xd during egg collection - suffocation, no guilt

*Hubert's grave is now bejng used for a carrot farm since we didn't like him that much.
