Mirak: As an erdgeist, not much is known about Mirak other than she lacks traits most of her race would have. Though her body remains inorganic, her skin and hair feature a soft texture not too dissimilar from humans. Also, Mirak is prone to becoming distracted.

Having seemingly no emotions nor goals, Mirak joined Particus Academy to observe its students and the environment. While not observing, Mirak tends to walk to random places on her own as well.

Mirak is overly logical and sometimes interprets things literally, or comes off as snide. As a result, Mirak tends to get into one-sided fights with Tiamat - whom the latter gets easily frustrated with.

Mirak is part of Team Hinako as the team's healer. Despite all, the appearance of Melinda seemed to have sparked something within the erdgeist...

I'm going to be slightly chaotic and answer this in a more "conversational" style with the main characters from Stained Integrity! (Excluding Mirak because he doesn't interact much with the others.) I'll put it under the cut since it's going to get pretty long.

Also, for context: Clover is incapable of lying, LeRoy is able to lie but typically does not since he grew up in a place where no one can lie, and Laurie... well. He can certainly lie if he wants to.

Are you named after anyone?

Clover: "My parents named me after my mother's favorite plant." Laurie: [trying not to laugh] "Her favorite plant is clover?" Clover: "Yes. And what are you named after, Laurence?" Laurie: "No one, actually. At least—not to my knowledge. How about you, Blondie?" LeRoy: "I'm actually named after a somewhat-famous journer. He was the first to cross the aether straight across instead of by skyland-hopping." Clover: "You never told me that!" LeRoy: "I guess it just never came up?" ~ ~ ~

When was the last time you cried?

Clover: "Two days ago, three minutes after noon, when I finished reading a logbook that ended because the journer that wrote it died." LeRoy: "I think the last time I cried was prob'ly... No, wait." [turns to Clover] "Did I cry that time you and Fritz's father had to drag me out of the tavern 'cause I was so drunk?" Clover: "Yes." LeRoy: "Then that was the last time I cried." Laurie: "You got drunk to the point of crying? You?" Clover: "It was the anniversary of when his mother left." Laurie: [regretting saying anything] "...Ah." LeRoy: "So, what about you?" Laurie: "Well, I was taught that men aren't supposed to cry, sooo... it's been a while?" ~ ~ ~

LeRoy: [bursts out laughing] Laurie: "...Are you all right?" LeRoy: "Yeah, it's just-- I know exactly where I was born, thanks to everyone and their mother telling me the story of my birth." LeRoy: "Well, my mother was trying to insist that she was feeling perfectly fine 'cause my father wouldn't stop being paranoid about the whole thing, but then right as they were having their argument, her water broke—which of course sent my father into complete panic, and he rushed her down the way to the Quarters' place—they're the head apothecaries in town—but they... didn't quite make it inside the building." Clover: "He was born on their porch." Laurie: "Is that a normal sort of occurrence for commoners?" LeRoy: "Why—where were you born?" Laurie: "In my mother's quarters in my father's manor. My mother was on bedrest the entire month before I was born." [turns to Clover] "What about you, my dear?" Clover: "I was just born in my mother's room at our old home. LeRoy was also there." Laurie: "Oh?" [raises an eyebrow towards LeRoy] LeRoy: "I wasn't even a year old!" Clover: "My parents watched over him while his father was at work, so he just happened to be there." Laurie: "Ah, yes—you and your absurd 'adoptive sibling' relationship." ~ ~ ~

Clover: "I don't have a lot of free time anymore, but I do like to read." LeRoy: "I also like to read. Sometimes I'll play card games with my father, but that's more his hobby than it is mine." Laurie: "Oh, to be a lower-class citizen with time for leisure activities..." LeRoy: "Can you be serious for five minutes?" Laurie: "Absolutely not." ~ ~ ~

Do you have any pets?

LeRoy: "No pets here." Clover: "I don't have any pets, either." Laurie: "What about that cat that was following you around?" Clover: "What? When?" Favorite subject in school?

Clover: "I really liked literature classes." LeRoy: "Same—but my favorite class was always geography." Laurie: "You both went to a school?" LeRoy: "You didn't?" Laurie: "I had private tutors." Clover: "Did you have a favorite subject?" Laurie: "Oh, I did rather enjoy my language lessons." ~ ~ ~

Clover: "I used to want to be a journer, but I don't think I would last very long." LeRoy: "If I weren't a metalsmith, I think I'd enjoy being a cartographer." Kzinti and Star Trek

You don't see many Kzinti in Star Trek, and there's a very good reason for that: They're not actually Star Trek aliens, but a borrow from Larry Niven's Known Space series of books. And so Paramount don't actually own them. "The Slaver Weapon" episode of The Animated Series is an adaptation of Larry's "The Soft Weapon"

TAS' "Slaver Weapon" brought lots of Known Space lore into Trek. 4 Man-Kzin Wars were fought prior to the invention of faster-than-light travel, which really doesn't work in Trek where First Contact established, well, first contact and it was between humans and Vulcans after the first warp flight.

We also saw a Slaver, which have a rich backstory in Known Space where they're known as the Thrint and once ruled over the galaxy with their telepathy.

Some of Niven's backstory fits into Trek but other parts don't.

The Man-Kzin Wars don't. That being said, there have been attempts to bring Kzin back into Trek and several references to them. The Next Gen novel "The Captain's Honor" features the M'dok in the B-plot, a feline species who fought 2 wars with humanity one before the founding of the Federation and one after... sound vaguely familiar? They were originally the Kzin, and had name and details changed to avoid potential legal issues.

The Kzin exist in the Star Fleet Battles tabletop gaming universe (which is like a Trek splinter universe, licensed from TOS, TAS and the Star Fleet Technical Manual but nothing else), but they lack the distinctive bat ears.

Starfleet Command, the videogame adaptation of Star Fleet Battles swaps the Kzinti for the Mirak, again to avoid copyright issues.

But then came Star Trek Picard, where in season one Riker talks about an issue with the Kzinti (apparently permission was sought from Larry Niven and given for the mention) and then Lower Decks gave us Taylor, who is clearly Kzinti but likely will just never have anyone say it out loud just to be on the safe side

Oh, and the 1980 Star Trek Maps were cheeky and called them the K'zinti and hoped the apostrophe would make everything okay.

There have been attempts to bring the Kzinti back to Trek, like a planned Enterprise season 5 episode called "Kilkenny Cats" which was almost resurrected as a New Voyages fan film project. Here's the poster, where they'd replaced the Kzinti with the Kytharri (another Kzin-expy from the DS9 "Prophecy and Change" anthology

The "Kilkenny Cats" story read somewhat like a retread of DS9's "Armageddon Game". There were also attempts to get an animated Star Trek movie made called Lions of the Night, involving Sulu and the Enterprise-B dealing with a Kzinti invasion.

Oh oh, and read Ringworld. It's fantastic. And makes one wonder what the Kzin world is like in the Trek world... because they're unable to stop themselves launching violent wars on neighbours which they have no hope of winning, their world is essentially occupied by humans and that's very un-Trek (which of course makes it 10x more fascinating) indeed. How would Starfleet and the Federation deal with such a threat?

ok... let's start with the fact that Tumblr fans provided us with several types of Miraak's appearance, and having been inspired by the idea, I decided to try to create them bg3. here are their final results.

black hair, scars, gray hair were a reference to one of the posts that said that it would be great to see Miraak in the style of Oscar Isaac

in the other two, Mirak is presented with long hair and it is either blond or red hair, they also have scars, but the eyes are already interesting, they refer us to the Daedra Hermaeus, or to a long-lasting existence in apocrypha

in fact, Miraak with long, blond hair, tentacles and a mask reminds me very much of Belos from the owl's house...
