Queria dizer que gosto dessa onda de cmms com vagas menores comparado a antes. Sempre achei muito caótico uma cmm com 100 chars, acompanhar a tl era uma luta e na maioria das vezes você não conhecia nem metade dos chars. Porém, fico triste pelas poucas cmms ativas hoje em dia terem plots tão similares entre si. Claro, todas tem suas particularidades e o que mais faz uma cmm são os chars que tem nela ao invés do plot maior, mas sinto falta de uma variedade um pouquinho maior.

Sei também que temas mais "diferentes" nunca vingam na krp, o que é triste porque aí ficamos sempre presos no loop cidade X universidade de novo e de novo e às vezes é cansativo. No mais, super entendo a queda de promos e cmms novas porque a tag tá um bueiro ultimamente e ninguém merece ser mod nessas condições, mas não vou dizer que não sinto falta de alguma cmm que o plot faça mais diferença no comportamento dos chars (mas aí também entra o lance que vários chars ignoram totalmente o plot da cmm e agem como se fosse apenas um slice of lice normal mesmo sendo sei lá uma cmm de terror, não tem como ganhar mesmo)

E cheguei na tristeza, porque lendo a ask tive memórias sobre vários lugares maravilhosos em que já estive, com um plot elaboradíssimo, e que os players só davam conta (se chegassem a tanto) de seguir o tema base muito superficialmente. Isso já foi assunto outras vezes aqui no blog e, apesar de entender perfeitamente os motivos de quem prefere algo mais simples, não dá pra não ficar murcho pensando no que a gente perdeu.

Em outro tópico, admito: amava fazer parte do auge das comunidades, com seus 120 personagens (!!!) e pelo menos metade ativo na timeline ao mesmo tempo. Era sim uma sensação de grito no c# e dedaria, mas sabe? A energia da galera era outro nível. Sobre as duas coisas, tempos que aparentemente não voltam, anon. E resta a gente ser saudoso e jogar o nosso, mesmo.

Emergency Finance Mod Applications

Emergency finance mod applications for Sharpshooter, a Lance sports zine, are now open. Our past finance mods, Imori and then Leo, unfortunately had to drop from the zine, and as a result, we do not have a finance mod at the moment

As of right now, we need our finance mod to organize our preorder bundles (including their prices), set up the zine store, set up the zine payout method, and work with our shipping mod to finalize manufacturers we will be ordering from

Applicants from this position must be no younger than 18 years old, and we need there to be some experience in finances (whether from running a store, having been a finance mod for another completed zine, having studied finances in school, etc), even if it is not from running a zine

Finance mod applications will remain open until a suitable finance mod applicant is found, so if you’re interested and you fit the above criteria, please consider applying so we can smoothly move forward with this zine

Metamorphosis Chapter 4

When Lance carried his bride over the threshold of their new home nearly a year later, Green flew for the first time. Pidge released her into the garden to be with Blue, and for a blissful moment the young newlyweds just marveled at the brilliant light that passed through the translucent jewel toned wings of the giant butterflies as they danced in the sky above.

“She’s beautiful,” Pidge remarked.

“Yeah, she is,” Lance replied, not looking up. He couldn’t stop gazing at the lovely young woman standing beside him.

“She was the last to transform. I wonder what took her so long.”

“She’s just a late bloomer, that’s all,” Lance said with gentle affection.

“Blue took even longer to emerge from his chrysalis,” Pidge continued. “I was worried that he would never find the motivation to break free.”

Lance slipped his arms around Pidge, who turned her full attention toward him at last.

“I think he was just waiting for her all this time,” Lance murmured softly as he tilted her chin up to brush his lips against hers.

“Metamorphosis” was originally written for the Whiskers Across the Galaxy fanzine, a project which evolved a bit over the last year or so. It was initially planned to be a printed charity fund raiser zine. Over a long period of time, the project became what is now a free digital download with a full color cover and illustrations. The stories and art are simply adorable, and I highly recommend you download the file to enjoy them all.

The version of Metamorphosis that is published here on AO3 is longer than the fanzine version. I had to keep my story within a specified word limit for inclusion in the zine. The additional material I included with the AO3 version consists of chapter notes and the beautiful Maya Angelou quote at the end of the story. The quote was the inspiration for this bittersweet tale about maturing, loving, and mourning the death of a loved one who was gone far too soon.

poxa, nem me fala. eu já comentei sobre esse lance de ter mais pesquisa do que rp na tag ser só um reflexo do descompromisso dos players, é ainda mais triste ver rps que tiveram uma resposta super legal e que isso com certeza deu confiança e animação para os mods serem abandonados da mesma maneira. falo de experiência. todo mundo sabe que rp não é um trabalho e todo mundo tem uma vida, mas não custa nada ter um pouco de consideração com as pessoas que se esforçaram naquilo ali e procurar só aplicar se realmente pretender jogar.

You’re so sweet! Unfortunately, the mod currently doing the graphics has limited skills (mainly to promo posts) so we need someone who can do the following:

Organize the pdf/physical book when we acquire all the pieces of the zine

Create graphics for both mod and contributor feature posts

Create the promo graphics for when the zine is released

Mod applications for Splendiferous, an Allurance royalty zine, are now open! They will remain open until March 1!

We are looking for a finance mod, shipping mod, formatting mod, and beta mod! If any of those positions interest you, please make sure to check out below what each mod position entails:

Finance Mod-

Work with shipping mod and formatting mod to create zine specs

Set the budget and stretch goals for the zine

Determine which merch can/should be produced

Set up the store for preorders

Shipping Mod-

Work with finance and formatting mod to create zine specs

Order physical copies of the zine content

Label and ship out physical copies of the zine content

Manage and observe any tracking of zine packages

Formatting Mod-

Work with finance and shipping mod to create zine specs

Determine which readable font and text formatting to use for the zine

Format the art and writing pieces into a booklet

Maintain an aesthetic and color palette consistent to that used by the graphic design mod

Beta Mod-

Monitor the grammar and word count progress on all written pieces

Go through written pieces and make (constructively) critical comments

All mods must be at least 15 years of age. Finance mods and shipping mods specifically must be at least 18 years of age. Experience for all mod positions is preferred, but it is not required!

This may be controversial but have you considered not endorsing duplicate events? We have quite a few and if people won't do a fandom rest week then maybe a kind message saying "your event is covered by an already existing one therefore won't be reblogged" will work. Ex: shklance bb is covered by shiro bb. Klance bb has 2 in existence. Multiple lance and Keith zines. As a creator many of us have maxed out events we can handle and as a consumer I've at least already bought more zines than 1/2

2/2 I should have and i can't be the only one. I'm worried mods are gonna get less and less participation until they stop hosting events/selling zines when in reality if we only had 1 of each event (1 bb/zine/week per char or ship) then the fandom would stay alive and active. Burn out and going broke are huge issues which we are going to face here very soon if we aren't careful. (And season 3 is just gonna make it worse if we don't deal with it now)

See, this kinda comes back to the question of what exactly is my role with this blog. Is my role to simply catalogue all events without comment or should I be trying to manage events given my unique position of knowing so much about everything that’s going on. Personally I tend to lean more to the first, though I do want to point out I have in the past gently suggested to some people that they might want to consider moving their events to avoid stepping on other’s toes (for example shallura week was moved because I pointed out that the original dates overlapped with allura ship week and I didn’t want one to overshadow the other). 

Like it’s been said before, I can have my personal opinions on the matter and I can make some suggestions to avoid overlapping weeks like I’ve done in the past. But officially I don’t feel it’s really my place to tell people they can’t do their event, or they have to modify their event, or say I won’t promo their event just because another similar one already exists. That feels a little unfair to me. And the thing with duplicate events is 1) often they’re different enough that they’re not exactly duplicates therefore they draw different crowds, and 2) they still get participation. Take the Keith zines for example. There are currently 3 on the table, but one is is a general Keith zine with no pairings allowed, one is specifically a Galra Keith zine, and one is a Keith zine centered around the theme of nature with all pairings allowed. They’re all different enough and they’re all catering to their own audiences. 

And the fact that all these projects get decent enough response and participation to go ahead shows that at the very least there is enthusiasm for doing these things. Now, as you say, the worry becomes (in the case of zines specifically) who is going to buy them. It’s all well and good to set up a project, and even better to get a good response for it, but if at the other end no one buys it cause the market is over-saturated that’s where we get into trouble ( @bosstoaster briefly touched on this in her excellent commentary here). But my approach is that’s a risk zine organizers need to be aware of and take into account when planning their thing. 

Similarly with big bangs, yes there are 2 klance BBs going on currently, but the fact is they’re both getting enough participation to go ahead. I think the thing with duplicate events, or events that are similar enough that they look like duplicates, is that often what ends up happening is the second one picks up everyone who might have liked to participate in the first but for whatever reason couldn’t sign up or missed the deadline or whatever. Seen like that, who am I to say no to an event, even if it’s similar to an already existing one?

This got pretty long and rambly but I’m just gonna close with this. Like @bosstoaster, I don’t know what the solution is. Yes, there are (in my opinion) too many events in this fandom, and some creators are coming out to say they can’t do it anymore. I do worry that zines and events are going to start failing, and that’s pretty upsetting because if/when it happens it won’t be due to the fandom rejecting the events or the events being bad, it’ll be due to the fact there are just too many other things. BUT at the same time a lot of these events, especially zines and big bangs, are still drawing enough interest and participation to go ahead, at least for the time being. How long will this balance hold? Idk. We can implore people to slow down with the events, give the fandom a breather, but I don’t think it’s my place to step in and reject any event I come across simply because it’s similar to something that already exists.

Watch This Wrestling 46 (11/19–25)

Hello friends! If you look at the below, you’ll see a couple of changes. This upcoming week marks both me watching Impact again (yes, this is all Ethan Page’s responsibility) and my renewed interest in Chikara.

For Chikara, I plan to watch the VOD of the penultimate episode Kill the Moon and possibly attend its season finale Closing Time, a decision which will depend on whether or nor Mike Quackenbush vs David Starr is announced for that show in Philly.

And at some point, I’m going to begin the grand project of watching the show from its 4th season, a long-overdue project. The decision to start there was helped by the excellent Courtney Rose (@ChicagosCRose on twitter).

Nobody’s surprised to see me hand out a best to my two favorites from BOLA 2017, who wrestled a fantastic, epic match, that just happened to be booked the wrong way.

Anyone watching Progress during the last months has to be wondering what they’re doing with Flash. If all of these almost-wins will build to a major character point and a championship, then maybe they’ll be able to say it was worth it.

But Keith Lee loses nothing if Flash manages to eek a suprirse underdog victory out of the WWN Champion, not the least because the title wasn’t on the line. The crowd adored Keith Lee, though, to the point where nobody would even hazard the opinion that he needed to beat The King of the Mods.

While I thought the four-way match that included Dahlia and Jinny was rushed and didn’t gel together as one whole match (instead reeking of two, smashed together), Ms. Black’s pre-match promo was excellent.

Until this moment, this feud existed in short moments where announcers rushed out words to one of the two, who typically had joined them on commentary. While it could have used one more story beat (at the start, showing their friendship pre-injury), it still was the most well-acted (bravo, Dahlia) and necessary story beat of the week.

Paige Returns, With Friends

Monday Night Raw, 11/20

Obviously, this segment will age well or poorly based on how WWE books Paige and the friends she picked up on her way back to the main roster, but for now, it’s a win.

Not only was it fun and shocking for a return to turn into an invading faction, but it’s quite clever. Rose and Deville provide solid cover and distraction from the controversy that took place during the time where while Paige’s injury (among ohter thing) kept her off camera.
