Maddox: Daddy, when you were at school, did your teacher play music whilst you were writing? Mr Gutenberg says it helps us concentrate, but he only plays silly stuff without words and so I keep thinking about what the words should be, so I don't think it really helps me concentrate.

Mary: He hasn't said much, but I think he's okay. More upset for his girls than himself - he and Candy haven't been together for twenty-five years.

i highly recommend reading more into cases of fatal neglect and remembering those who died for the crime of simply existing. there were parents who looked upon these faces and decided they were too much of a burden to be allowed to have the bare minimum to survive

Braelyn’ Hines, aged 3, succumbed to neglected cystic fibrosis. she loved pizza and cocomelon and her two kittens, yoda and lucy

Aight kids, I watched Rise of Red. Thoughts, theories, and spoilers below.

What was that? Like huh? Now they’re messing with time and you know that never works out. The ending was way too rushed. Idk about you guys, but if my mom was a massive bitch and I went back in time to fix it, I would at least stick around for her traumatic experience to make sure it didn’t happen.

Anyways I think that Morgie is the next big bad. In this movie he took on more of a Gil role (golden retriever vk), but he is the only one who didn’t get detention and from what I know about King Arthur is that Morgan Le Fay is wildly powerful. Who says her son is not the same? I think he is going to come to the present and mess with stuff. I don’t know why, but I feel like Maddox and Morgie are connected somehow? That might just be me noticing similar aesthetics and their names both start with m, but idk I feel like they’re connected.

I definitely want more Captain Hook and Maddox in the next one. I love hot side characters.

All in all, I feel like the movie was too rushed. I think the mouse was just testing the waters. Every Descendants movie ends in “the story isn’t over way” and that’s probably just so that if they feel like it they can continue it. I think they made this movie just to see if anyone was still into the franchise. At first the marketing was minimal and it is a straight to streaming release, so they didn’t think it would do well. So then when everyone actually showed interest and got excited they were like wow ok bump up that marketing!

The Nova Family - Mainline Gens 1-6 [Founded 2013]

So I wanted to reintroduce my main family line for the new people and recentish mutuals who aren't familiar with them yet. My blog is named after my old Adam and Eve challenge town which was founded and maintained by this family until the save file died in gen 5.

Okay with that said, let's buckle up cause this shit is long and it gets campy and weird at times but here is the general telling of the Nova Legacy up until Bastian's generation.

Generation 1 - Founders Cole and Ember, they had Edric, Dagny, Folke, Ander, Oliver, and Liv. They were farmers with few neighbors and fewer worries.

Generation 2 - Dagny took over for her parents once they passed on. She was a pretty chill chick who founded and ran the village consignment shop. She had two children with her husband Kellan, Owen and Edda.

Generation 3 - Edda had a one sided affair with a local farmboy named Miles that resulted in her daughter Sedona. Her parents took care of her child so she could go to Uni where she met Cid and they went on to get married and then divorced, then married again in old age. They had three children together Payson, Page, Phoenix.

Generation 4 - Page quickly took over management of the town from her mother as soon as she was able. Thinking it had languished under her elders for too long she quickly began selling land to outsiders in an effort to expand her influence and her wealth. She married her childhood best friend Vivek and they had four children together, Kiran, Teagan, Regan, and Penelope (who Page is expecting in this picture).

Generation 5 - Regan was a romantic from the start, always dreaming of her perfect match and once she found Bryn she knew it was him. Unfortunately he was much too old for her and already married but no one stops a Nova with a dream. To this day no one knows why Bryn's ex-wife left town so quickly after she turned 18. It's a mystery to everyone. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Anyway, they had 8 children (partially due to her mother Page's meddling with fertility potions): Zoey, Brenden, Brielle, Brynna, Maddox, Ferryn, Laryn, and Kamryn

Generation 6 - Being born between two sets of triplets gave Maddox a bit of a complex. He was always forgotten but also always forgiven when he acted out. So is it no wonder he grew into a monster?

He wasn't that way at first though, his love for his first wife Allison and their children - Willow, Dawn, and Layne mostly kept him in check. The root of his obsessions with genetics would begin there though, with one of his first experiments resulting in his plantsim child Ivy.

Unfortunately around this same time their youngest was born he got into a personal feud with a local group of vampires who took their revenge by setting his house on fire. The resulting blaze claimed his wife and although his children survived he soon abandoned the girls to seek a new life in exile.

His second wife was the clone of his lab assistant who died in a mysterious accident soon after they met. They had three children together, Nova, Bastian, and Delora. I don't think there's a picture of all of them together. She divorced him midway through her last pregnancy then later died young of an unusual disease.

His final (known) wife was Morgan, is who he had Terran and Skye with. She divorced him in absentia because he fled from their home in Strangetown after "the incident" with his son Bastian.

And that brings us to Bastian, who was my main sim for a couple years so we'll get to his assorted tales and children in another post. This is very much long enough.

I don't recall inviting Sapphira but she appears to have appointed herself bartender.

Morgan grew up wanting to make a friend, so he honed in on Gaby.

Meredith: I can't believe Morgan's about to start school. It seems like only yesterday he was born!

Leo: Now you know how I feel about you!

Gaby: I'm muerto!

Morgan: You're what? I don't know that word.

Gaby: Oh sorry. It must be Spanish. I don't remember which words are English or Spanish sometimes. I don't know the English word... not alive.

Malachi: Can I play?

Maddox: In a bit.

What a dreamboat!

The party was too big for me to keep much of an eye on so I just let everyone run wild. It scored well, so I guess things went okay. Morgan spent most of it befriending Gaby, whilst his siblings went up for naps at various points.

Why Should a Star, a Star Ever Be Afraid of the Dark

Tier: Low, so low, so unappreciated

This is my “behind the scenes” series where I indulge myself horribly by annotating my fics. Link to the fic itself above. Thoughts below the cut.

Ah, another unexpected MCU fic that burst out of my chest through the force of my post-Endgame emotions. Since it's not my primary fandom and I posted in a time where much much larger writers were also saying things, it got next to no attention, then or now. That's okay. I'm still glad I wrote it.

Peter bit his bottom lip as he traced the metal leg of the Imperial Walker, extending the line of grey from the box shape of the body down to where the snow would be. Maybe he shouldn’t have picked the Battle of Hoth as his muse. A snow battle on white paper was boring. He paused, frowned, and set the paper aside.

It's funny, writing fic with well-known characters, because you want to get them right. But there are so many ways to perceive a character, especially one that's been portrayed and analyzed so many different ways, so it often comes down less to what makes logical, concrete sense and more about what just feels right. Even this opening was a lot of mentally flipping through a bunch of different options until I found one that felt right for Peter. I also think Calvin and Hobbes did a similar joke with a drawing of a tiger hiding in snow or something. Call it an homage.

Peter was still getting used to Morgan, to everything like her that proved that life had gone on while he had been… away. One minute, he’d been a regular kid punching aliens in space, and the next, it was five years later. Five whole years. And there were people like Morgan who hadn’t existed when he’d closed his eyes but were suddenly here, sparkly princess tiara on her head and a tiny Ready to Rock t-shirt stained with what looked like a smear of goldfish crackers.

MCU really really failed when it came to the ramifications of the Snap. Such a travesty.

“See?” she had said, swinging her bare toes over the surface of the lake. “It’s better with your shoes off.” Peter had taken off his shoes, and they had sat there together, watching the air slowly thicken with gnats and then mosquitoes as the sun dipped lower and lower and turned the lake golden. She had been right about the shoes.

I forgot how much I liked this fic.

“Cheering,” Morgan said matter-of-factly. “That’s Mommy and Happy and Uncle Rhodey and you and Amanda and Maddox and Mr. Lu and Mrs. Iye and—“

It's fun naming incidental characters. Sometimes you get to slip friends in. Just for fun.

For every happy story about a family reunited, there was another about people returning only to find out that their loved ones had moved on or died. Weddings were still a thing after the Snap. So were babies. And car accidents and relocations and cancer and birthdays. Life went on. Death went on, too.

MCU BIT IT. JUST UTTERLY TANKED IT.

I had to google green crayon colors.

This was a good little fic. Next to no attention, but again, that's okay. I think I wrote a good kid Morgan who isn't too cutesy, a decent Peter, and a tolerable little look at grief. Yay me.
